Alicia Vikander On Her Parallel Universe Career, Living In London And Filming ‘Firebrand’ | ELLE UK

Intro hi I'm Alissa bender and I'm here for my cover shoot with luk and now I'm going to play ask me [Music] anything this is going to be quite silly Ask Alicia Anything but I would probably spend the days just changing my outfits my everyday like kind of style is so paired down so if I was Queen for day I would try and fit in as many looks as possible I think it's hard for me not If she was Queen to choose the one I wore at the Oscars clearly cuz it was you know a huge evening and experience for me and also uh an evening that I got to share with my mom so therefore I will you know think of her especially when I when I got to wear that dress I think it's uh Unglamorous industry one thing that I notice when I have friends or family who who are not in the industry who come and visit me on set is to kind of see how non glamorous very often is you do the changes in the bathroom or you kind of sit around on the floor um you don't have much you know time to yourself you you kind of run around with a long lunch box and you try and get your food uh intake um yeah I think that's the overall impression that it's very unglamorous considering the kind of idea of this industry being very glamorous I Minimalism think when people uh think about Scandinavian style they often think about minimalism to me I think definitely that is how I dress on an every day basis but the thing is that it's instead you know a lot of focus that goes to the quality and to materials and even though it's kind of a style that is within a very kind of strict frame maybe I feel like it's not at all about not being able to be bold because I think you can always like play with how you mix materials or how how you put things together don't think too Be brave much and don't be you know be brave I think I've with age probably I think less about what I wear and I just wear what I want and therefore I think with age I've started to really find my own style and who I am but I think at a the years leading up to that I I tried probably any style out there I just actually returned to London Living in London quite recently I'm going to be here for a few months and it's so nice to be back I mean this used to be my uh base for seven eight years and I'm I I guess over that period of time I really became a North Londoner so when I can go back to the heath or take a swim in the ponds uh that makes me very happy when I shot Firebrand or actually already when I read the script the first time I was almost embarrassed because I realized that I probably knew the least about Katherine PA out of all of Henry v8's wives and doing my Wikipedia search which I you know ended up doing for a few hours after I read the script and I realized that this woman was like the first woman who ever got published in British history under her own name um that she actually ruled the country for a short amount of time when Henry was away and I just couldn't believe that this woman her history had kind of been lost over the years um so that made me also extremely like eager and and proud also to be able to be part of this and and shine some light upon her I do a lot Face Yoga of like face yoga and I try my very best even though I'm a mom now to get some sleep in uh which is hard I think I have Skincare quite a few more than three just because I'm one of those women who carry with me a huge handbag everywhere where I go so I always cuz I tend to have very dry skin um so when I found Austin's B is like Rich the rich cream I use up from morning to evening and night then I have um which is nice on the other spectrum of being extremely affordable is this Militan Hood Salva I think they've been selling them in the UK too I've seen them in stores but it's really something that you can find in Sweden it's from the military and you can they they use it apparently to both like cook in it or for your skin when it's too dry but it's like perfect for dry lips so I always have one of them in my bag then I think because I'm also you know now a mom one thing that I always carry with me which is not only good for your face but for anything out there and that is wet wipes I carry with me like two packets right now I think in my bag I would probably have leaned into wanting to do something in architecture or interior design it's definitely what I'm what I spend my time doing between um jobs I still have time so uh I would love to be able to get into doing like a proper you know professional um job in that area one day Meeting a stranger the one time when I was walking down like the tiniest Street in Hong Kong and someone came up and knew my name uh and said it was nice to meet you that was kind of you know a strange uh feeling but the person was like so nice so uh it's definitely a a memory that I that I treasure being in this Balancing work and life industry which is so much about exposure I think it's it's very important to keep a balance between between your work and your private life or especially for me in one way I think also I've had um you know my very dear and very close friends that over the years have very much kept my feet on the ground I think one thing Outro on my LZ is definitely that I would like to do an interior design project something that I could actually show to the world and I love traveling and I really really would love to go on a
