this oh that's what we're starting with what's the matter with you all right let's go look at our guy wearing my brains gear we try to have him on the show wednesday night for you folks or rather tuesday night for your monday or your wednesday podcast but he was already out celebrating living it up it is wake up warchamp fueled by de luna coffee i'm aslan hunter of andy he is corey clark die hard braves fan i mean you weren't even ready to you didn't want to witness possible uh failure i mean what are we doing core you didn't watch any of the game no not as i hey i've watched the whole game in replay since but i just my nerves were my nerves were too afraid but i'm done with it now i was just talking to jeff about it jeff cameron called me to congratulate me and i was saying i'm done with that now like i i don't need any more psychosis for the rest of my life i'll be able to watch the braves in peace because they gave me another one and i'll be able to watch the hawks if the falcons somehow get to the super bowl again and get a big lead i won't walk out of that house either i'll just be watching it because i got this one brady got one we're all good everything's good here we did it we didn't blow it we took advantage in the braves of the world champs but sorry about chubba that's the bigger news probably for the people watching this show i just can't imagine not watching the rose bowl in 2013 like on january 6 2014 just me i can't do this i'm gonna go for a walk i don't know where it came from man it's it's kind of like my flying like i flew my whole life i watched sporting events my whole life and then all of a sudden i started getting more and more nervous where i didn't want to do it and now i got to the point where i want i didn't watch two whole world series games but they wanted both and here's the thing i was keeping up on twitter and when solaire hits the three-run bomb i'm like well i can't start watching now and then when dan's beheaded i'm like well i can't watch it now so i just i wrote it out i just wrote it out until i saw on twitter that they had won and then stephanie turned it on after yelling at me for 20 minutes and um and then we went and celebrated so good times man good times i i'm not proud of it it's not like i'm trying to argue that it's reasonable or logical it's just it is what it is but i flushed it it's out of my system forever all right it was crazy though to hear them you know joe bucks like atlanta world champions for the first time since 1995 i'm like hey i was alive it wasn't that long ago well it wasn't like the cubs yeah well it wasn't the cubs or anything yeah but you start doing the math and you're like oh wow it's still a long a darn long time ago yeah anyhow all right let's uh let's get myself man abruptly enters the transfer portal on wednesday afternoon i was extremely surprised by it i don't think it makes sense i don't get it i understand we live in a different world guys are always looking for better opportunities quicker opportunities none of it sort of adds up to me i don't know how much of its bad optics some people are talking about it it definitely doesn't look good like why would a guy leave this program when he's kind of right to you know second in succession if you will what were your thoughts initially when you heard the news about shabba transferring well i i was surprised at the timing i wasn't necessarily surprised by the fact that he did it i thought he would do it in december and i even mentioned it completely out of the blue and randomly on yesterday's show about i i didn't even know if he'd be on the roster next year um because that's the world we live in but um yeah so i'm not surprised that he did he that he's leaving um you know because yeah the guy in front of him is just a sophomore and they got a guy coming in that they really like and who knows what's in the portal so i feel like maybe he knows he's not really a part of their future plans and so why wait it's just odd i guess it's the world we live in you want to get in the portal as quickly as possible to let other teams know you're available because it doesn't make a whole lot of sense like or maybe that's the reason it does make sense is there's only four games left you can't wait it out four games what if jordan gets hurt which is a distinct possibility now all of a sudden you left your teammates in the lurch because you're probably the second string quarterback i would have thought maybe i'm wrong i just thought he would be the second string guy because it you could keep running a similar offense with him in there as you could with jordan travis maybe not quite the same but close um and i thought if jordan travis got hurt he might be the guy that stepped up but maybe they told him no if jordan travis gets hurt mackenzie milton has to back up and he would go in he's like all right well what am i even doing here then i i don't know we don't know the we don't know the internal conversations that were had i know but it's just even so there's four more games left right four more games so maybe you're 2b right now maybe you are the third string guy but man once the calendar returns to january mackenzie milton's gone and then you just have to beat out jordan travis for the job now travis has shown flashes of of impressive play but man there's nothing for certain about his health and his status moving forward in terms of being a guy that they can really invest in and go full you know all in with him so it's it's bizarre to me man at worst you enter next season the second string the the clear clear second string quarterback at florida state behind a guy who's played four weeks in a row which is like an all-time best for him so listen i'm not this guy i'm not like oh this looks bad like uh mike norvell's losing control the locker room anything like that i'm not worried about the optics of it it just it's it's bizarre man but i mean i don't i think it's chubba nut chubba thinking i think chubb is telling us what they think of jordan travis and maybe more accurately what they think of him like if he really thought he had a chance to be the starting quarterback next year i don't think he bounces unless he's just unhappy being this far away from home we'll see where he ends up he'd already have something lined up but uh you know if he ends up back in arizona arizona state but i just think it's if he thought he had a realistic legitimate shot to win this job next year i don't think he leaves but he doesn't and the kid in front of him is a sophomore and the kid coming in to take his spot that they they might have recruited him over for is obviously just going to be a true freshman so maybe he saw the writing on the wall that way maybe they told him the portal's open again and there might be somebody else dropping down into tallahassee from the portal in december or january so there's no guarantee he's even the second string guy i don't know i don't i don't think it's necessary that coach is saying hey man if you want to look somewhere else you have our blessing but i also don't think there if he asked them the truth like can i start next year i think you have to be honest with him and say well you got to beat out the guy that you haven't been able to beat out the last two years so that's up to you man you've got to get better but there's no guarantee that you're going to start and maybe he he wanted something like that i there's really no way to know but it's the world we live in right like it's not as you wouldn't have been stunned if that if this happened december 15th would you have no that's part of it though right man is the timing of it all because hey man there's four games left you i mean i don't know what's going on with jordan travis who knows i mean up until this point we haven't seen him go and practice two days tuesday wednesday and not have some sort of limp some sort of gingerly movement some sort of brace some sort of tape on his person man you got four more weeks to where you could potentially start a game um or at least come in relief you know if somebody goes down it's just and seeing him walk off the practice field most days and he's always laughing he's always with the quarterbacks like i felt at at worst at least he was gonna be like a good glue guy like just one of those happy-go-lucky always smiling has just kind of a good disposition and knows how to roll the punches and when we spoke to him he's always kind of been a a pretty open you know guy so it is it's all a little bit crazy man but did you did you honestly you watch a lot more practice than i do um i watched a lot in the preseason but haven't watched much at all since the season started um do you think he was the answer at quarterback do you think this is a loss for florida state for 2023 florida state for 2022 florida state i mean i don't think he's like the answer right this second he's listen man practice wise i mean i've we've talked about it when you see him practice seven on seven it's it's in the pocket it's and then like you just dropped the ball because the reps over and he hasn't he hasn't i mean when we saw him play against umass which is not really much better than the scout team defense you're going up against he goes five for five i have a conspiracy theory on that by the way continue i think there's a chance that maybe quarterbacks talk maybe everybody talks and my man wanted something on film he wanted to just put something on film for prospective colleges and maybe he told his teammate who's 31 years old it has played a million games hey man you would really do me a solid if you let me play two two drives against umass just i gotta get some film man the second half of nc state was a year ago that was a shoulder that was another surgery ago got to get some film man please let me play just throwing that out there like do you reprimand mackenzie if that's the case oh no no i think they were cool with it anyway but also um i don't think that really happened i think i believe mackenzie that he wanted those guys to play um but i also don't think it's a complete um coincidence that he finally got some reps and that is in the portal i you know personally just because i'm an old fogey um and i'm used to college football being a certain way i would have really uh i don't know appreciate it's not the right right word uh but maybe it is if he would have stayed through the end of the year just to see what happened because he might have really been needed he might really be needed these last three or four weeks and wherever he's going he's not going to be playing right away he can't play right away so i would have liked to seen him st uh you know stay it out for the next four weeks in case the guys that he's practiced with for the last year and a half needed them in a close game what if jordan gets hurt against miami and you've got a real chance to beat boston college with chubba purdy but he's not available now that's that's a that's a little bothersome but i mean look man coaches leave all the time players leave all the time for different reasons they get recruited over i'm not begrudging him leaving i'm not even begrudging him leaving now because this is the reality you've got to jump in the portal man you've got to let people know the lsu kid did it earlier this week like this is just if you're not going to play and you know you're not going to play this is kind of the world we live in whether you like it or not it's the way it is i can't imagine that conversation where he gets that impression though you know just like all right if if jordan goes down against whoever what's the plan we're gonna go to mackenzie all right that's it i'm done like it's just four games just get through these four games and then next year you're behind travis and again man but is it i don't know how the portal works in the sense is it like recruiting where you know these coaches will go to some of these kids and like look man you need to let us know by the end of this weekend because otherwise we got to move on so i don't know if we're channels there's background for sure high school coach or his dad and his you know hey man like if if you think he can you know be a week one guy for you absolutely yeah but also these coaches that might be interested in chubby services are also recruiting high school quarterbacks they need to know if they really need to offer this high school kid that they're sort of interested in is chubby even an option and now he's letting teams know that he's at least an option so so maybe that's the the race to do it so soon and why these quarterbacks do it more and more you just don't want to be left um the last one to declare for the portal in december so all the good spots are gone i i don't know i don't know but uh it's odd but this is i mean he's certainly not the first person this month to transfer to announce a transfer doesn't make sense man it's it's fishy it's fishy i mean but i'm not trying to say like there's some sort of you know scandalous sort of situation going on but just i mean i know for the for what we know on the outside from the outside looking in it doesn't make sense but you know maybe if chubba it'd be cool if you would like i don't know posted something on his in tw twitter or instagram like saying a goodbye farewell i haven't seen one of those things although i think he did i think he did a couple hours ago after it became news i think he did he thanked everyone jordan travis hasn't been good enough to where if he goes down against miami and you're trailing 21 to 4 21 to 10 and chubba purdy gets in that game because you're like man their past rush is nasty we don't think mackenzie can avoid it enough we don't we need to have some some semblance of a quarterback run game to keep people honest jordan travis isn't good enough this this coaching staff hasn't won enough games they haven't won enough important games to be down 21 to 14 to miami in the second half and then chubba purdy comes in and leads them to two touchdown drives and wins on the football game and then he goes back to holding a clipboard that's that's just i can't oh no i don't think that would have happened at all i think he's legitimately in the race for that but uh if that if something like that had happened but it's it is what it is man he's he wanted to go on we you know look don't you think you were kind of surprised that he came back at all this year i mean he left in the spring like he left he left and rehabbed in the spring like left the team wasn't around for the spring game for the last two weeks of spring so i was surprised he came back at all so um you know none of this is surprising it's it's you know you have four quarterbacks on the depth chart you're gonna have at least three next year maybe four if roda maker stays um in this maybe five if they get a portal guy like who knows but um but this isn't surprising again that he's leaving it's just the timing in the middle of the week in the middle of the season when i thought he was a viable candidate to maybe get some reps if jordan went down but maybe we were wrong maybe the playing all along is the mackenzie milton's the backup quarterback and it's not close so like nfl designation when we i don't know if we talked about it on the podcast the other day but just in terms of the likelihood that they were they would go to the portal to get a quarterback i mean from doubtful questionable to probable i don't know i think maybe questionable is where it would have been at 24 hours ago i would i would say that they're more than likely going to have to go into the portal and grab a quarterback now yeah yeah i think so i i think well again i think it depends i think they like the kid coming in for sure um and i i always thought img apparently he left img today so that's what i saw he got hurt right he did something to a his hand or finger or something um so he can't play anymore that place is a weird place man sorry if anybody watching has kids that go there but if you do you must have a superstar athlete because that is a really weird place um that where like the kids just go there play sports and then like there's been a couple kids up here where i live in the atlanta area that have gone there for a football season and come back home to their home school for the rest of the year like their regular school it's just an odd weird place so maybe he didn't want to be a part of it maybe he's like all right i can't play anymore i'm getting out of bradenton is that where it is is it in bradenton um so they i i do think they like him a lot i do think they they like travis but yes man the portal's always going to be open it's always going to be open like you you can't say no to someone if you think they can help your team um and there might be a quarterback that comes through the pike that can help their team we'll see there's going to be plenty of them out there all right um let's keep this thing rolling a lot a lot of braves uh fans wishing you well rob thank you buddy i'm glad i'm not the only one i'm glad i'm the only one he can't watch either uh wes in the villages clarifies that duffy's no longer img because he dislocated his ring finger on his throwing hand so he's gonna just get ready and shut it and get ready to enroll early at florida's state but i mean i don't know it's you still don't wanna i mean i get it you're you didn't grow up with these guys there isn't like some sort of big bond to win a state championship because i don't even think you play for a state title world series uh championship merchandise this is just a sweatshirt about them being in the world series i gotta get one that says champs on it how much would you say you spent or how many articles did you purchase after the 93 national championship 99 2013 which one of those you really splurged on none really none at all of it like 93 99 i thought you were going to ask me about the 95 world series too and i did i didn't i'm not i'm not one of those guys i didn't get a lot of a lot of merchandise after that stuff and i feel bad about it i should have actually thank you eric we appreciate it um let's keep this thing rolling along here let's see uh delaney way do you think fsu should consider running towa philly out wide more often all the running backs are great in space and just need to be given opportunities to make people miss i've been thinking about toa philly a lot these last few days that's a weird thing to say out loud but i have um it's like when you see a you know a long lost love you're like you know i've been thinking about you what that what went wrong um but uh yeah like i don't know that he's gonna be a traditional running back like with like warden corbin is he a guy you give the ball 15 times a game like you do those guys in on the zone read or is he a guy you try to get out in space with routes in wheel routes and uh yeah i guess not tall sweeps because nobody runs those anymore but some sort of off tackle plays i just i thought that was really big for him um on saturday to make a play like that remember he is the first person that norvell called when he got the job the first recruit he called to try to get him to come to florida state they they are in love with his athletic ability and his potential overall he had a rough start to the season but i at least saturday in a little bit to the umass game too but it was umass saturday reminded you oh yeah he's a freshman running back that has a lot of potential and they've got to figure out a way because they don't have a lot of game breakers they don't have a lot of play makers um he's one of them and i don't know how you get him more involved but i feel like we'll see that the next uh the rest the disagree with that and i don't i don't think mike norvell's truth is any more legitimate or val than what chubby purdy would tell us i mean i think i think that norvell slash dillingham will lay out what the conversation was like and i mean i just you know maybe i'm ageist but i trust the 40 year old's perspective in the 20 what's dillingham 22 i know can you rent a car i was going to say the old man dillingham at 27. maybe i just trust their perspective a little bit more but i don't think anything would be said on the record by anybody but i feel like we could get a we could get a um an idea of what the deal was but it might just be occam's razor man it's as simple as he knew he wasn't going to beat out jordan travis and jordan travis is a sophomore and the dude wanted to play he's not he's not kyler murray man like there's no way chubby purdy looks at practice and sees jordan traps as like nope i mean no way no way you you see i mean apparently so well what do you think the reason was he just hates it here i don't know man he doesn't think he's going to get on the field that's why they all leave they don't think they're going to get on the field he doesn't think he can beat out the kid that he hasn't beat out the last two years that's a problem if they've fostered an environment to where they think the 13 is the answer for good for for three years i got a problem with that man i don't think that's the case at all i think this particular player does not think he's ever going to beat out jordan travis that does not mean aj duffy thinks that that's that might that doesn't mean they think that about aj duffy or they think that about old spencer rattler sliding through that portal they don't think that they don't think that either about him i'm just saying with this potential this particular match up it would seem one of those quarterbacks does not think he will ever beat out the other quarterback and wants to go play maybe he wants to go to iowa state man he's a broken flippin leg in game one and they won the darn thing unbelievable uh gatorkirk asks whether or not i've purchased my lucky bamboo plan i have not yet uh gator kirk i'm not so can you really buy that at home depot you can go get a bamboo plant i guess yeah yeah can you buy pandas i don't know i don't think so there's got to be a way everything has a price you can get a panda if you have enough money okay i would assume tyson back in the day had a panda yeah you're right um wes wants us to use some of the money from tips get you a microphone stand well look yeah there's a lot of issues going on it always gets so dark in this stupid room i promise it's lit it's the way my my video on my computer works but i feel like if i sit further back away from the computer i'm a little better lit does that seem to be the case as long or not yeah so that's why i'm holding it because usually i have i'm right on a table there's a table right here but the closer i am to computer the worse the lighting is so i got to hold it for now we'll figure it all out you know we're in the early stages of this show it's only been four years carol the composer you're a palace um happy for you about this on the podcast yesterday too right you uh i think ronya yeah i forgot who asked but anyhow she agrees that that play should have never happened so well carol you're smart so it makes sense the smart people agree again i i get it your chance of scoring from the 20-yard line against that defense in one play is uh is minimal you have no chance with that play you run none especially if the first guy that catches it apparently just feels like he's supposed to run backwards um that was a weird way to approach that defense i just don't i don't understand why you tried the hail mary the first play and then like hey let's just roll it around the field on this next play um because that hail mary which was not close at all was still a heck of a lot closer than the play to end the game but it's fine that the game was over once uh they had to punt it back once travis took that 20-yard sack the game was over uh it's ostensibly it's just that you don't want to risk kids getting hurt on a play that has no chance of working and if you had money on the game you might want to you might want to choke mike norville not not to not to death just let him feel you because that i'm sure there's a lot of people that lost a lot of money on that goofy play which happens quite a bit well you know um devonta love taylor had good humor about it but apparently the guy that runs barstool sports did some i don't know if he tweeted about it or had some video reaction but he he was upset at devonte call him a fat lineman uh for not being able to prevent that final touchdown that allowed clemson to cover he laughed off devonte and we were like hey okay all right you're not you're not a fat lineman devonta you're you're just a lineman you're a chiseled athlete he's not a fat guy yeah so uh rolling along here let's see here oh let's let's get the mackenzie milton uh hate flowing through our veins courtesy of john mcknight having mckenzie on the roster has not helped in any way we lost chubba and we lost jake garcia to miami yeah i don't i don't think those could be mutually exclusive i i don't know that like one caused anything any of the other things to happen i don't i don't think he lost chubba because of mckenzie milton because mackenzie's leaving in in four weeks trump is still a freshman about to be a sophomore so if if mckinsey milton was a sophomore you'd be like yeah he's probably scared of competing with mackenzie but yeah i don't know i don't think that cost i guess the thought being maybe mckenzie plays the louisville game and some of the weight game because jordan travis got hurt i'm sorry chubba plays some of those games because jordan travis got hurt but he didn't because mackenzie milton was the quarterback yeah maybe or the notre dame game for that matter maybe i don't know um by the way jay garcia might be right back up in the portal john you know what i'm saying the kid at miami is a super freak so jake garcia is not going to be team though but but uh but i i think mackenzie milton has taught jordan travis some things that might end up paying off in the long run we'll see but they they speak glowingly of what he's meant um to the quarterback room now is it coach speak i don't have any reason to believe they're lying to us but they they certainly talk up what he's meant to the quarterback room just as far as practice and not great and then the way he returned punts was not great uh but he's still been one of your best players this year um and uh yeah he and corbin are good and uh hopefully they can have a good game on at any team that's struggling at all or might have a coaching change even some that don't like georgia but a kid that's not playing as much as you like like jermaine johnson and be like man i wouldn't mind that kid like when you lose a recruiting battle now do you it's not it's not it's not uh final the kid might in two years might be like you know what i made a mistake i'm going to go back to my second choice it's just this is the way it is man you can look around like i want that guy i wouldn't mind that guy we need to get that guy and just see how it works scott a uh says based on the few plays trouble played it looked like he had the best arm out of all the guys that you see the same in practice i don't think none of these guys are especially gifted in terms of arm strength i think rademaker has the best arm like arm strength wise um chubba throws a nice ball nice-ish ball um again though yeah he has he has a decent arm right it's it's probably stronger than jordan's or it is stronger than jordan's uh and stronger than mckenzie's but there's so much more to play in that position than just arm strength there's a million examples of that um and i'm not saying trump can't do it he's a he's a redshirt freshman um but just you know it's just so hard to judge on the limited sample size we got from him he was terrible his first two games is a true freshman but that was an impossible situation to be put in the week that he actually knew he was going to play he looked pretty darn good against nc state in the second half after they were down 28-3 but still it counts and then he looked okay against umass but it was umass i have no idea i have no idea what kind of potential that kid has none but i do know this if he was awesome he would have been playing at florida state these last two years especially this year you know what i mean if he was awesome that norvell is not in the you know he's not in the business of just playing some guy that's not as good as another guy that's behind him if chubba purdy was good or great or he thought he was going to be awesome trouble pretty would be playing right now cameron asks uh can toe feel he be used like alvin kamara you have to put him on the field a lot more i mean well yeah that's true but yeah like half of uh half of kamaru's touches are catches right seems like like he's he he might he's one of the probably league leaders in the nfl and receptions when he actually plays i mean sure i don't i don't think he's a guy you give the ball 22 times a game as a tailback but i think he's a guy that you should give the ball i don't know eight to 10 to 12 times a game right now i would have said more before the season started but i didn't know how good trey sean ward was our corbin was gonna be for that matter so um but i do think he's a guy you can use out wide you can split him out wide some you just gotta he's a guy that can make people miss and you'll have a ton of those dudes catching passes for you right now um james doesn't like trouble leaving thinks it's not uh showing great character um we'll agree to disagree on that i mean uh we but i think you agree in the sense that i don't know like you'd be ashamed necessarily but you do agree the timing is what bothers us like that you could help your teammate outs here for the next four weeks but again like i explained um he might be the third string quarterback he might have been told buddy you are the third string quarterback and he he's like okay well i might as well get my name in the portal so people know i'm available we got you know this this the world we live in right you know it's not the best it's not you know it's not what we grew up with but it's the world we live in john mcknight's got a flow chart you just can't know a hundred percent i've talked to jimbo about this actually look man jimbo's the quarterback whisperer we get it but he also brought constantino on this campus wait wait this is our time ain't there time yeah constantino is in that room you know he brought some guys in that couldn't end up doing it at this level too so you never really know until you get until you get them on campus and see how they react so i don't know man i don't know if he's had a good year or a down year i know they like him but you're not going to know if he's good or great until you actually see him in college practices against college athletes um heck he's playing with a college team um there i mean good grief they would beat some colleges uh that team he played with but yeah i don't know i don't know if he's being hyped up too much or not enough we'll see um but yeah jimbo used to say that all the time it's like that's why he wanted to see him at his camp he wants to he wants to see quarterbacks even more so than in a game he wants to see him in a camp and he wants to see how they trigger how quickly they trigger where their eyes go how quickly their eyes go and when their eyes see what they want to see how quickly it comes out of their hands that's what he was always recruiting most of the time it worked for him sometimes it didn't but he said he's like yeah even jameis like he didn't know for sure about jameis he knew he knew by the end of jameis's red shirt freshman year that november yeah he's going to be a super duper star but in august he didn't um and i know that for a fact now he jameis got much much better as the as that fresh redshirt freshman season went on i'm talking about when he was actually redshirting 2012. uh and by by december jimbo knew that jameis was going to be a superstar mark says that duffy had great reviews coming out of elite 11. i mean he finished ninth out of the 11 guys but hey they're the elite 11 though you know i mean yeah you know it's like being runner-up at miss america and you're still really beautiful and intelligent so yeah that's higher than you finished at the elite 11 camp yeah that's right i'm not trying to lead this program back to greatness though this sounded crazy at first blush and it is crazy but i love you rob why not just put i mean if you're going to run the ball why not really snap travis jb the quarterback then i don't that that won't happen but can we talk about travis j for a second sure like what do you do with him aslan what do you do with them i told ira this was before the game even before he got uh you know just i don't even know what you'd call what happened to him on that touchdown that he gave up there's you either move him to wide receiver there's options for him i don't think it's taking it db but maybe you move them to wide receiver maybe you put 30 pounds on them and make them a tight end because heaven knows you'll love tight ends around here or maybe you make it's like man put 40 pounds on him and make him a rush in like just do something to use his athleticism because i feel like it's a it's getting squandered and i'm not saying the coaches are at fault but this is a kid that does have some physical ability and it just doesn't seem to be you've tried him at safety you've tried him at corner neither one is taken he hasn't taken to it at this level but you can't tell me that kid doesn't have a spot on a college football field somewhere i don't know there's got to be a way there's got to be a way i think wide receiver that's where i would try him but he's 6-2 203 and caitlin deloach is 6-1-220 you can close that gap in an offseason i don't know why no one ever talks about him playing linebacker um you know just keep moving them down the defense until finally as last year he's a nose tackle that's right that's how it works yeah i mean if anything maybe he gives you kind of like a bigger body target in the red zone but their red zone offense has actually been pretty solid so i i just don't i don't know i think he's a guy that can make people miss and uh you know i you i know there hasn't been a lot of travis j highlights uh this season or his career he did have that crazy interception last year um and he goes and gets hail mary's for the most part but uh that return he had you saw man there is a burst there and there is a little wiggle there even on the one he fumbled excuse me there's a burst and there's a wiggle and it's like man you can't you can't use that anywhere but you're right try you know yeah 17 pounds he's deloach's size sure and he would be a lot faster than deloach who by the way had a nice season not a great player yet but has had a nice season certainly better than we thought in uh in emmett rice's stead and by the way i guess emmett rice and warner are slowly working their way back and actually might get to play a couple games this year i don't think tyler van dyke and uh last year gonna constantly or a solid run game that can help you with your play action game you cats are the bee's knees you're the bee's knees get down um what do you market man i mean let's uh spencer rattler i don't i would say you know i don't even know if you want that kid yeah honestly i i don't know that you want that kid let's just use him for example i think first off you've got to market to wide receivers let's let's get to their there first because if you have wide receivers a couple of big timers that come in and that's certainly a possibility you've got one on the hook already there's others out there and then the portal might just dump some on you um i think you can show them plays dealing i mean recruiting is nuanced they can look at the passing numbers and be like why would i want to go there oklahoma throws for 400 yards a game they can dillingham and norvell can show these wide receivers look what we schemed up right here all you have to do is beat this guy in its 90 yards but we don't have the guy that can do it right now but look how this is schemed up perfectly for your skill set one step and go that's a 90 yard touchdown don't bring up the quarterback bring up the not not on par wide receiver play in how the reason we don't throw for a lot of yards is because we don't have the guys out wide that can do it but you can change that then once you get a couple wide receivers on the hook that's what you sell the quarterbacks is look we got two really good players coming in we also have a run game so it's not always going to be dependent on your right arm but we will scheme some stuff open where you're going to have uh chances to make huge plays um in the passing game and you're not gonna have to throw it 60 times i mean i guess a quarterback wouldn't maybe necessarily want to hear that but if you're trying to be an nfl quarterback maybe you want to not throw it 70 times a game like mike leach's guys yeah that's the thing like you know mike leach it's that system like i don't i don't think anybody worries about who's around them um i don't know but they can sell that stuff too i mean when it's all said and done i don't know jordan's travis his passing numbers aren't going to be good but i assume you know if he finishes out the season he's going to have over like 3 500 yards total right i mean no i don't think so no i wouldn't think so in passing no no no no i'm saying overall so that way you they can always make listen if you're a quarterback for us you're going to have 3 500 total yards well no i would think yeah i think you could you can certainly sell that but i don't think jordan travis is going to prove that i guess if you added him and mckenzie up it might be close to 3 000 by the time the season's over but i feel like travis is averaging like 200 and 200 yards per game so that puts you at 24 2500 he's got 812 yards in the air currently yeah and 340 on the ground yeah not good yeah and he somehow won three football he's the right answer right now at that position and next year he's going to be a redshirt junior he'll be or he'll be in four years so anyway i get it i get it i i you know i hope i i hope he sticks with something i hope he stands out and plays well at something just you know this is this year has not been a great year for him really in any way but it doesn't mean he we're always none of me we're putting on him no we're not zachary gibbons what will it take for the fsu defense to slow down ncc's quarterback devin leary put him on his back multiple times and nc state does not let that happen a run which will help but um if that kid gets time to throw he's gonna find the open guy that's what he does that's what all nc state quarterbacks seem to do it's like the remember the finley kid oh yeah you would just complete 30 passes a game for 220 but just dinking and dunking all the way down the field that's just what nc state does man yeah what's what i think is a little bit interesting is that um like they're la not their last three games the clemson game went to overtime the miami game came down the final possession louisville game was a fourth quarter game i mean they they came out of nowhere and put it on louisville in the fourth quarter yeah they scored 28 points in that game we put 21 on the board in the fourth quarter i think 21 unanswered if i'm not mistaken yes look at this guy yeah you have to use it correctly yeah um so i do find that interesting versus florida state you know that syracuse game was important letting them know they can win one of those close games um but i'm i'm would think that that clemson game probably is sitting in their mind a little closer to their frontal lobe right than that game so i mean this it's going to be an up and down i think the next two games are going to i mean if you believe the nc state game is going to be kind of a high scoring one i i definitely think the miami game is going to be um it will be interesting to see if this team can find ways to win close um against teams that are maybe a little bit more talented i think maybe nc maybe a little bit more yeah i think so i think that's fair to say sure certainly was awesome i thought about my dad a lot actually he would have he would have loved that he would have loved this team um because braves atlanta teams specifically braves teams uh usually don't outperform what they're supposed to do in the postseason and this team went beyond everything um with a with a bunch of guys that weren't even on the roster in july before cuny got hurt so yeah that's it was really cool to see i know well it was really cool to see on twitter that they won but it's really cool to experience it's really cool to be a part of a to be a fan of a team that just won a won
