this doesn't just apply to drawing I kind of apply this to everything there's this phrase that goes around my head in regards to making progress it takes 100 tries to earn one [Music] success you can't expect to hit a home run every time and that's comforting but everywhere I look everyone else seems to be able to hit the ball just fine sometimes why does it feel like I'm not making progress you ever just feel like you're falling behind like you're about to go to sleep and [Music] then [Music] wo wo W wo W wo wait this artist is like 16 W wo this is cool too oh I should try do something like this or this wait a 14-year-old worked on Spider-Man what have I been doing my whole life oh my God this an art contest for Pokémon oo I should study an anemy oh my God I'm so far behind wo I have so many good ideas right now okay tomorrow I'm going to get up early and draw as much as I can uh I can't fall [Music] asleep [Music] maybe I should uh find more ideas [Music] first well that's enough for one [Music] day why are you putting it off it's not like you're good at something just because you have good ideas that's right this is supposed to be fun I got into it cuz there was artists I really looked up to and they had to start somewhere too right so if I just kept trying to draw like they had then one day I'll get as good as [Music] them except how many tries has it been at this point I feel like like I haven't made any progress like they would have it's like those artists are just playing a completely different game Al together whatever they have do I just not have it to beorn with do I start too late or something pointless am I wasting time they say you stop learning at 25 maybe I should just get a real join just never going to make any progress I think there was a problem with what I thought progress was when you see success in any form you're only seeing that person's home runs you know and when they hit those home runs it's not like they hit them entirely by accident I've been going through this phase where I've been so scared of continuing to fail that I couldn't bring myself to actually try or I just thought that if I did it enough I would hit the ball eventually right which kind of brings me to that phrase in those 100 tries you're trying to do something different each time cuz if you don't try anything different nothing changes try everything so that over time you can figure out what actually works and what doesn't so when that opportunity comes along you're not leaving anything to chance progress isn't something you're just given progress isn't something that just somehow happens over time fundamentally I think progress is the pursuit of change so anyways 99 to [Music] go
