New York Giants Rebuild Madden 25 | Working around Daniel Jones' Contract

hello everyone welcome to franchise mode Madden 25 today we'll be taking over the New York Giants what a horrible situation at quarterback we have Daniel Jones um running back they just signed Devin single ter who Star Development about 25 years old drafted Tyrone Tracy wide receivers is the bright spot we have young Malik neighbors who was a top pick in this last year's draft um couple of other pretty decent receivers as well but obviously neighbors is our best option here an offensive line that is definitely in question Andrew Thomas the bright spot here being Star Development 8 all left tackle they just signed alumor and John runan at the guard positions John Michael schmidtz uh 68 overall Star Development Center Evan Neil the right tackle at only 71 overall Star Development so he could still develop but hasn't been great so far they drafted Theo Johnson 66 tight end out of Penn State U defensively we look pretty good though so I'm excited about that Dexter Lawrence 95 overall superstar X Factor Brian Burns they just traded for an 86 overall Superstar development drafted Tyler nuban at safety um Isaiah Simmons and Bobby okar are starting middle linebackers I I like this three four especially with Dexter Lawrence so I'm going to try to bolster up our defensive end positions but then we have Kavon Tibido a young pass rusher who's done really great so far and aiz oari um as a backup um outside linebacker and pass rusher so yeah I kind of like where our defense is we can obviously fill some holes improve at defensive end get a better Corner have our safeties improve but yeah Brian Burns and Kon tibo is a great pass rush and Duo excited to see how that works out but there's a lot of work to do the Daniel Jones contract is not good and we're not getting out of it anytime soona just looking at this paying him 47 mil this year 41 mil next year and in 2026 odaniel Jones $ 58.6 million I'm not sure if this is something that we can get out of I'm not sure how much this is guaranteed we'll probably have to revisit it this time but looks like Daniel Jones might be our starting quarterback for a few years as we find a suitable replacement um possibly in the draft or free agency but hopefully we're able to cut him in 2026 um unless he really turns things around we'll see um I'm not super hopeful for it but that is so much money we could free up and use elsewhere um the dead cap would just be ridiculous by cutting them so I don't think we can do it yet but maybe we could in 2025 or 2026 see how this all plays out we're going to go ahead and simulate this first year and just kind of see how the roster plays out see what happens but I really don't have any interest interest in playing with this team apart from League neighbors but hopefully he can do some damage and simulation and get some decent stats but yeah we're going to go ahead and send this here all right so we had to fire and rehire some new Scouts here's National we're going to hire interior offensive line defensive tackle to our national Scout for three star and in the west we're going to be looking at cornerback and safety um inter your offensive line we really need help at like left guard Right Guard Center um do have a star Dev Center but I don't know we'll see if we can find a gem I really like drafting interior offensive lineman you can often times get good value later and then D tackle since we're in a 3 four I'm going to be looking for big athletic D tackles that can play the defensive end position in a 34 so that's the intent there and yeah going to go ahead and do that we're going to offer an extension to aiz O galari keeping him for 3 years at what I think is a pretty good price to be kind of a backup at both defensive uh both outside linebacker pass rusher positions going to extend Isaiah Simmons for three years keeping him at middle linebacker he is normal development but still only 26 years old and a freak athlete so I'd like to keep him here all right we got through our first season simulating Daniel Jones ended with 3400 yards 28 touchdowns 18 picks not ideal average under 200 yards a game don't love to see it rushing Devin single Terry average four carry got four touchdowns over a th yards Daniel Jones got 262 receiving Malik neighbors went over a th yards with 71 receptions and 10 touchdowns that's a really good rookie year for him um in the middle of the season I set a goal for him to get 80 receptions and 800 yards so he definitely got the yards did not get the reception so he missed out on some XP there but hopefully some awards for a good season for him other than that Theo Johnson had a decent year 48 catches for 500 yards alen Robinson in there Slayton hurt a lot of the year um yeah not not great other than Malik Neighbors in the receiving end defensively fabiio Kake had 135 tackles five for a loss no sax one pick um Tyler nuben as a rookie had 90 two tackles Kon diido 78 let's look at tackles for a loss Dexter Lawrence had 20 tackles for a loss next best Tibido at nine Burns at eight Burns was hurt for a lot of the year as well unfortunately Lawrence had seven and a half sacks leading the team by far tibone Burns two and a half and two so not good them three interceptions for Deontay Banks Force fumbles nuben got two of those and two recoveries that's pretty cool Deontay banks with a touchdown so those are the season stats for us I don't imagine it'll end up in any awards offensive player of the year goes to Brandon auk defensive player of the year goes to Micah Parsons offensive rookie of the year's JJ McCarthy and Malik neighbors was number two he finished ahead of Marvin Harrison but could not get the number one Rookie of the Year that's too bad that's missing out on some XP there Defensive Rookie of the Year is Dallas Turner see Tyler nuban is on the list at number seven so there you have it all right we're going to go ahead and accept Kavon tibo fifth year option see if there's anybody else to consider here Darius Slayton um we'll accept Evan Neil's option for now keep him around see if we can get a better option he's only 73 overall so hasn't gotten a lot better slayton's just too expensive I think um 20 years old we're going be for somebody else in free agency Isaiah hodin I would look to resign but his Star Development went down to normal so he's no longer there uh Jason pinck I'd be interested in bringing back for one year but I don't think he wants that but I could live with a 2-year deal if he takes that and he does not want to so missed out on that opportunity I don't think there's anybody else in here that I really care to resign to be honest we're going to be hitting free agency heavy and kind of rebuilding this roster all right so first stage of fre agency here we're trying to sign a number of guys first of all we need a kicker our kicker retired so Cameron Dicker is the best kicker available so we're going after him we're offering him a long-term deal um I believe it was six years uh three million per year so trying to secure him long term 25 years old um 94 kick power so going for him trying to sign Odell Beckham to a two-year deal um bring him back to the Giants uh as a mentor and a bridge player our wide receiver core is very weak and I think Odell Beckham would be a great mentor for leak neighbors so I think that just makes a lot of sense he does doesn't want to do two years we might just do one year with Odell um Javon kinla D tackle and Dio aeno um at defensive end we need to short up our defensive line a little bit so those are two guys we're going after and then handen hooker as a guy to come in and compete at quarterback he's 67 overall right now 27 years old so he could give Daniel Jones a run for his money would certainly be much cheaper we offered him a long-term deal as well so we're going to go ahead and evaluate offers see if anybody signs with us right away no signings um same player still interested let's evaluate again and looks like two guys signed with somebody that wasn't me looks like it was a defensive end and D tackle so kinlaw is out all right that's not good for us all right so we've also added in here Dante Fowler and Cleland Ferell Fowler is a bridge player Mentor we're trying to get one year on him Clen Ferell we're trying to get two years at 4 million a year here looks like that's not going to cut it though he's got some competing offers um Dante Fowler does two so I'm going have to adjust these offers a little bit to try to win these guys all right so I ended up offering Dante Fowler more money and then switched from CL and Ferell to Derek Barnett for a one-year deal let's see if we can get any of these guys oh our evaluation periods are up so I'm going have to simulate we're able to sign Odell Beckham on a one-year deal for a lot of money but we really want him here we're maybe going to keep him on if he does well but a one-year deal for 12 million to come in and Mentor Malik neighbors kind of a lot of money and Derek Barnett also accepted Cameron Dicker is still thinking about it Dante Fowler has better offers we're probably not going to get him or remove him from our board and henen hooker also is still thinking about it so let's see if there's any other guys we can Target all right we added a few more guys to our board that we're trying to go after Ryan Stonehouse the punter we offered a one-year deal because we don't have another punter at the moment so let's bring him in test him out a little bit CJ Henderson at cornerback we need some depth there offered him a multi-year deal it's pretty cheap Anthony Schwarz a wide receiver still need to fill out that room 96 speed 24 years old hard to beat that Nick cross at strong safety 92 speed only 23 years old two years of experience so excited to try to bring him in as well so yeah we'll see if we can get any of these guys all right we got henen hooker to sign Nick cross signed and Ryan Stonehouse signed so we have a pretty decent list of free agent so far still got three guys targeted Cameron Dicker CJ Henderson Anthony Schwarz I might have to adjust the offer on Dicker not sure um just doesn't seem to want to bite so far looks like we were able to not get somebody we did get CJ Henderson okay and did Dicker sign he did so we got Dicker after all he held out for a little bit but we're able to get him Anthony towards this last guy if we don't get him I won't be too upset let's go ahead and look at scouting cuz I haven't even looked at that yet okay after scouting a bit I made a short list and Josh Lampman is the only quarterback worth taking still have a few years left on Daniel Jones contract so I'm not like desperate to take a quarterback um it would be really nice but he's top five projected he's going to go probably the first or second pick and it would cost us a lot to get up there I think we're going to pass but if he falls we'll definitely take him um a couple other guys I'm interested in there's a couple athletic wide receivers but nothing really steering my stealing my interest Jerome Landry is a good day three shot at tight end um a couple offensive linemen of note and then there was quite a few good defensive tackles and defensive ends so we'll for sure be pursuing that my two favorite tackle defensive tackles were Donald G and dvin Harrison um be trying to get those guys in the middle rounds early middle rounds um some good fast linebackers and then Anton Waller is around two to three projected corner I really want him 6' three fast fits all the bills I would really like to take him in the second that's my plan um and yeah that's that's that's a gist of it we'll see how the draft plays out maybe I'll be trading up trading back we'll kind of see how it goes but I feel pretty confident about my draft board we're going to find some good guys in this draft all right here we are NFL draft let's see how long it takes for the quarterback to come off the board he number one so that would have cost us a lot to go from number five to number one so this is just not our year to get a quarterback unfortunately okay so with my pick I was looking at a trade down opportunity I just didn't like players available on the board and some of the guys we're targeting are around one to two guys and there's a couple guys I'd be happy with so I'm happy trade all the way back from the fifth to the second because that would provide us with second and third this year from the Raiders and a first and second next year and Tyreek Wilson which is a big position of Need for us at defensive end Tyreek Wilson was a very high pick not too long so looks like I'm having to include de single ter also some draft picks so I'm very close to this being done but this was essentially a trade the Raiders offered me with the picks um I just wanted to add Tyreek Wilson into here to help us out and they're wanting single ter for it maybe some other stuff so I'm going to get this finalized and see who we still have in the second round okay this is really close I think this one's going to do it a sixth and a seventh single T no six and 27th I mean I don't know who I'm going to draft at the end it's still declined oh next year six maybe we're so close to next year five okay got accepted so our fifth overall pick we're trading all the way down into the second round early second round pick for the Raiders so this is a huge trade down one of the bigger trade Downs we're also getting a third this year first and second next year Tyre Wilson or a couple late round picks in Deon single ter and then our also huge trade down very very surprising um I might trade back up into the end of the first round to get a guy I want but it's feeling a little dangerous I just I needed to do a trade back and I think that was a really good value that he got okay so disaster has struck um Donald galmore the defensive tackle went 19 to the Panthers um so I was a little shaky cuz he was one of the two guys I wanted um I decided to sim a couple more picks um so I could try to trade back into the end of the first round because I thought trading back up 20 was a little too high and then the Eagles at 21 took my main guy Michael Pearson who was the third right tackle on the board and no right tackles had gone yet so my plan was to wait until a right tackle got taken and then try to trade up and nope the eagles picked the third right tackle on the board who was my guy I had scouted and did a personal workout with to see how good he was and he's a top five talent and he was the guy I was trying to get I traded down from five I wanted to trade back into the end of the first to get him missed out on him and now I don't really have anybody that I want the end of the first I don't even know if I have anybody I want at the top of the second so losing out big time here but next year's draft is going to be good for us so hopefully we can still find some steals in this draft wish me luck on identifying some players to pick at the early part of the second round okay so we're up here with our first pick of the second round um the only guy I'm really considering here is Alexander Naes he's projected to I don't have him fully scouted out so I don't know what to think 21 years old 65 288 run stopper so a defensive end I think that would fit our three scheme really well with Elite strength um that's 36 reps in bench press but I also kind of just enjoy taking defensive tackles who are really strong and Can Shed blocks putting them there his block shedding is an A but his finesse moves and power moves are somewhere between C and F which kind of scares me so I think I'm going to pass and just trade because it's such an early second round pick I can get a first next year so I think I'm going to trade this and at the end of the draft we can see how good Alexander Nails is but I think I'm going to trade out of this one the two trades available to me are from the Packers and Lions for first rounders So based on this the Packers finish two wins better than the Lions this season and I think in simulation the Packers usually do well so we can hope that the Lions fall off a little bit Vikings and bears get better maybe the lions with in a tough division will some more games next year and that pick could be a higher first round pick middle of the first round so I think we're going to go with the Lions tradeoff okay so Lions official offer in the trade finder or the draft trade finder was my second for their next year's first and I think was like a fifth um I'm going to see if I can get Jameson Williams because I think it just hasn't the line so far and having a speed St like that in our team I think could really try to utilize him um so I'm G to try to get Jameson Williams give him a fresh start in New York if we can get it done not even close Okay um this might not happen actually all right so I was able to get that trade to go through originally like I said I think a fifth and six so I just switched it to a fourth so yeah our second round early second round pick this year for the Lions first round pick next year and their fourth next year so I just didn't know what to do here and I feel pretty good about value we're GNA have two first rounders next year two second rounders lots of value next year's draft see if we can still get some good here in this draft all right so now it is our official pick round two pick five um couple guys in the board I was talking about Alexander nails but obviously traded that pick away so's still available here we're going to pass on him there's a guy I want more but let's check back in on draft dvin Harrison I really like the defensive tackle but his talent is projected around three to four I'm actually going to take a shot on this corner who I really like it's Anton Waller 63 22 years old out of Florida State at all these measurables incredible good skills as well man Zone press a catching this guy's going to be a b A+ number five in True Value drafted him at 37 so we traded back got lots lots of good value hidden Dev 6 foot3 Corner really need that really really needed that 95 speed 94 Exel so excited welcome to the team Anton Waller okay so I have a pick and then the Jaguar pick and then I have another pick um guys I'm considering Daniel Griffin I think excellent running back he's a PowerBack great skills a trucking eight a stiff arm a carrying be awareness good across the board looks like he's a straight line guy though he has decent speed good power doesn't change direction very well so not quite the back that I like but I think he might have good development trait he's definitely in consideration here but I think I'm probably going to go with Cody K Center um then there's Ben C and Julian linebackers that I so I had to make up my mind running back Center linebacker um I think I might do a research to see who's going next but Center linebacker probably and we'll see about the running back okay I've decided with my first pick I'm going Lon so let's make our selection we're going to take him and then see what Jacksonville does I thought about trying to trade for the Jacksonville pick but n we're just going to see what happens I I think I could live without the running back um but lon's 21 years old which early breakout age I really like um the speed is insane ran a 4464 and has really good other stats too I mean bench press was solid skills are great coverage is a man coverage awareness a gets all around so this is our guy and okay he was rank number 77 drafted him at 67 so we draft them a little bit earlier um shows good speed for a linebacker knack for getting the ball carry to the ground hit power will strike into ball carriers hidden Dev okay little worried there for a second but 91 speed for a middle linebacker 76 strength wow this guy could be starting linebacker right away for us I know we have Isaiah Simmons but this guy looks amazing can't wait to see how good he is all right Jaguars picked they didn't take anybody I was interested in I have officially decided to take Cody King K Over the running back and here's my reasoning his archetype is agile 63 314 so he's a big guy he's an agile loer great strength had the highest bench Reps for his position also ran a 502 he's just like number one or two in all of his different stats or his physicals his skills look amazing as well with an a impact blocking B pass block block b to D so we don't know about run block but he's an an agile guy that looks strong I think he is going to be a really good can't pass up on him taking Cody conade here B's announcing it let's see what happens didn't know he did third round draft picks but okay draft room is pumped for him I still don't see like what his true value was so that's a little scary he's very happy he's wearing his bandana already and holding up the Hat okay ranked at 103 took him at 69 so maybe we reached normal Dev okay okay still could be okay never know what to see at the end of the draft but the running back was the call he just this guy just looked so good but I don't know he still might work out all right so a lot of our guys have been taken we've only got four guys left on our board the one I like the most is Dron Landry the tight end and then Jean Caldwell the slot receiver out another Dame we're going to go with Drome Landry first see what happens here he's ranked at 188 took him at 101 that's fine 6 foot5 255 normal development could be a serviceable tight end not sure just kind of taking shots at this Point let's give ahead to our next pick we're at the draft slow roll it and see if we have any guys left on our board two okay oh the quarterback got taken that's surprising so we have Caldwell and Lane G to go with Jee Caldwell here slot receiver out another Dame ranked at number 81 took him out 133 reliable pass catcher secure hands with defenders in vicinity Excel as with drag Slants other short routes yeah he looked like a short route Runner don't know why his picture is white and he's black but um normal Dev for him but 95 change of Direction 92 speed I thought he was like a sure-handed good slot receiver wearing number 24 so that's interesting um maybe he could play running back we'll have to look into that a little bit um since we don't have a running back anymore um yeah decent pick I think we might have one more the seventh round so our guy likely there anymore but we Sim video rolling just in case still available doubt it is not so let's see if there's any guys worth taking a shot on all right this guy was projected to be a day three pick Dom Gooden just taking a shot on him 23y old Corner he's fast got a catching so huh ranked 157 took him at 214 so he was ranked um never complained about depth all right so the quarterback ended up being 78 overall so at least it wasn't like a generational 80 plus overall he has 97 throw power though pretty good accuracy 70 speed um hidden Dev so looked pretty good overall um but stuck with Daniel Jones for a while um who else were we interested in Patrick Davis looked like a decent tackle but not going to get too upset about that um if other people that we were very interested inell galmore I was hoping would slip to the second round okay he was normal Dev so dodged a little bit of a bullet there who else after Gore big one L Michael Pearson this guy is going to be an absolute stud yep he's 80 overall he would have been probably the best in the class I think normal Dev for him though okay so he would have been an excellent Prospect right out of the gate with 80 overall but normal Dev is a killer 93 strength 75 run back two pass blocks so just not not a lot of high development guys so far all right I promise we' check back in on Alexander Nails To the Left End he was a 72 overall normal Dev not very great stats either so I would have been a big Miss on him all right so the running back that we passed on for our Center was a 78 overall hidden Dev with 91 speed 93 carry 90 agility 88 stiff arm 83 Trucking oh I should have gone with him shoot so we ended up picking up a lot of picks in this draft grabbing Anton Waller and Julian lton the two stars of our draft King cage is a 71 overall pretty decent but no de Dev trait drum Landry only 67 Jean Caldwell can actually play for us at a 72 overall with 92 speed 92 acceleration still need to see if he might be able to be a running back 75 carrying 74 ball carry I might try changing him to running back to see what's up but definitely a good slot receiver he would be an excellent receiving back so maybe that's what we'll do I don't know um and then Dom good just a shot in the dark 68 overall nothing special so Jean Caldwell's stats actually do indicate he might be able to be a running back 74 ball carry Vision 75 carrying 74 break tackle 79 Juke 7 78 spin um I might try to move him over there and just see what his overall is so he's 73 as a wide receiver let's see what he is as a running back okay he's a 79 overall running back with 92 speed 94 EXC acceleration so I think we might end up doing that I mean we do need wide receivers but we traded away single ter and it wouldn't hurt for us to have decent running back we have to change his number he's not going to be 88 anymore but that worked out pretty well actually um for such a late pick he'll be an excellent receiving back like I said and a Shifty Shifty uh back all right we're short on wide receivers we're going to bring back Isaiah hodin on a oneyear deal and also bring in Anthony Schwarz who we tried bringing in over the regular season didn't want to come to us but we'll sign a oneye deal with him bring him to New York all right so here's our lineup coming into year two our offense lots of bronze on here guys um but our rookie running back running back now converted from wide receiver Jean Caldwell excited to have him play um like I said only bronze which is normal Dev a great speed excited to see him convert to a running back neighbors are bright spot couple of offensive linemen and our TI end at starev offensively or stars and then we don't know about lton yet we don't know about Waller but we moved oari to play Left End for us as a stard dev then AJ Essa Derek Barnett we have um with lton starting we're having Isaiah Simmons back up all of our linebacker positions so we can get in on the field um Tyler nuben starting banks at Superstar Dev excited for your too let's see how it goes for some reason we received trade offers for Derek Barnett not sure why but I'm I'll take a 2028 fifth round pick for him we just signed off for agencies and we decided to start oari so I'm good with doing that we're able to offer an extension to wandell Robinson and get him to come back on a three-year deal we're able to extend Odell to keep Bon for another year as a top wide receiver and a mentor for mil uh Malik neighbors so I'm excited about that okay so I totally forgot that we had Tyrie Wilson so I swapped him out for AJ EPA so now Tyreek Wilson is starting um don't really remember why I forgot that look at us we just beat the Eagles and we started the season 3 and0 I don't believe this we're extending gerain illuminor for one more season Theo Johnson just got Superstar Dev um out of nowhere I'll take it all right so I was adjusting lineup and found out that Waller is a superstar um bot we still don't know about but Anton Waller has Superstar development trait super excited about that I knew a stud glad to have him on the Giants all right taking a peek at yearly Awards Kavon Tibido was voted best linebacker don't believe there's anything else oh Andrew Phillips top 10 defensive back here yeah not a whole lot going on for the Giants let's go ahead and look at Stats just to see where everything is at stats for the year let's go Daniel Jones not great 3100 passing yards 20 only 24 touchdowns and 13 receptions that is horrible Caldwell as a rookie converted from wide receiver average 3.6 yards per carry only two touchdowns but 750 yards receiving neighbors 62 for9 42 and 7 touchdowns only 62 catches we just need a new quarterback D Jones is killing us on 56 nine touchdowns Odell Beckham had 650 yards three touchdowns Ste Johnson people just are not getting enough receiving work because of Jones ouch BBY Oar 131 tackles this season that's insane tackles for a loss Dexter Lawrence 12 tibo 11 DJ Davidson with 10 Brian Burns with eight he's been under th far Tibido with 11 sacks with eight Phils got three ceptions Isaiah Simmons two two Deontay Banks two cross Anton Walker only got one that's about all his stats all right here are some of the guys that we're going after in free agency CJ Mosley be a great mentor at the middle linebacker position we offered him a really really low contract so I don't think he'll accept but just in case um one of the big guys we're going after is Keat Mitchell the Speedy running back from Baltimore I think he'd pair nicely with our current running back Trevor Penning as an offensive lineman and Greg doul see if we get anyone all right so we did get Trevor Penning to sign right away we gave him a decent offer so that's not very surprising lost out looks like on Mosley Keaton Mitchell and Greg doul are still here for us and we lost out on Keaton Mitchell as well I didn't know any others were interested DOL is also interested in going to the Rams we're probably not going to get him feel very sad that we lost out on Keat Mitchell I was very hopeful about him we actually gave him a decent offer as well um that leaves us in a weird spot at running back um our rookie last year got hurt right away so we need someone to be able to step in I'm going to be looking for someone else all right our new targets are DeAndre Hopkins at wide receiver for a very low deal just a million in signing bonus so I doubt he'll come with us but had to try zir white at running back and trying to bring back Daniel Bellinger at tight end he wanted a lot of money but no one's interested in giving him that in free agency so hoping that'll work out for us let's go ahead and simulate to the next week and see if we got any of those guys signed do some evaluation but not a whole lot is going to be going on in free agency this year um we don't have any money we have like 1 million left because of the Dana Jones contract so I'm very excited to be freed up by that next year finally going to get out of that let's see nothing doing nothing doing nothing doing okay no movement all right we were able to get zamir white to sign so that's nice still nothing on Bellinger Hopkins though they're probably not going to accept that's okay it's just a shot in the dark we drafted our rookie tight end last year and we have some decent wide receivers so don't really need Hopkins but it would have been a nice to have okay we're setting our Focus players to Demarcus Butler the left and projected to go second to third round and John pyan defensive tackle projected to go third to Fourth as well as Brad mlan a scrambling quarterback who ran a 4440 does not have good deep accuracy but is projected to go day three I think this could be a little steel for us at the back end of the draft in case we don't get with someone at the front so going to see what he's like by doing private workout with him okay Brad mlan is not technically a gem he's still a day three talent but has B short ACC B medium accuracy just doesn't have great deep accuracy um C throw on the run a spin move a carrying a trucking a Juke so he can run the ball like crazy I think this still could be a good player to go after he ran a 43840 so I think this is someone we're going to take a shot on and just see what it is um might not have the best passing downfield hopefully we can work on that but just looks kind of generational as a runner for a quarterback all the physicals are off the charts so still interested in mlan even even though took a little bit of wind out of our sales that he is still projected to be a day three the other people we looked at John peryan projected third to Fourth is a second to third talent and Demarcus Butler uh I believe Butler is the one we scouted yes um is still projected to be two to three so John P Ryan definitely a guy will'll be looking at in the later rounds um good to have him fully scouted out the most likely scenario for getting a quarterback early in the draft would be Justin Alexander out of BYU strong armed quarterback he's round one to two Talent um Elite strength great throwing power skills pretty good C short accuracy a medium B deep um pretty good stats I honestly like the other quarterback quite a bit as well so we might just pass on quarterback and try to take a late round shot in a guy and see what we might do in the draft next year or in fre agency next year but I really do like that day three quarterback so we might be passing on Justin Alexander I don't even think he's going to make it to our pick anyway he's a projected first round quarterback but yeah there's a couple other guys that we're interested in with one of our first round picks I think Dalton long would be a stud he's a right tackle um great physical measurables his skills look amazing as well with the aun block a pass block finesse um his pass block says it's a C to F but he's just a strong man um actually he's more of an agile guy that's that's what it is stats are off the charts that way um definitely interested in picking him up but there is a guy that I'm interested in more than him that I really want to lock up and I believe that is randrecous insane ran a 438 measurables crazy he's fast and strong he has great strength with 20 reps 21 reps in the bench press at the combine um man coverage B hit power a Pursuit a catching a play recognition a this guy's going to be a beast we need a strong safety it's a position of need so this guy's definitely going to be on the top of our board and like most likely our first round pick I'm going to have to take a look at MOX to see where he's projected to go but I really want rre Rose Mike Linton is projected to go round one to two and is a round one Talent looks very good skill-wise physicals check my boxes as well so Mike Linton could be another first round pick as an interior offensive lineman we still need to sh up our offensive line so I could see that happening for sure um and then yeah there's a bunch of guys here that I wouldn't mind taking but likely I'm going to be taking the other guys middle rounds Demarcus Butler looks solid again we talked about John peryan we want him and then our late round Brad mlan out of SMU the Scrambler I think we're going to go after him in one of our later rounds fourth fifth sixth round pick but let's go ahead and look at mock drafts and see where we might be falling okay so we pick at number seven and are projected to take Justin Alexander the quarterback who I was talking about um Dalton long is projected to go before us so that wouldn't be surprised if he's off the board and then our safety that we really really want Randa Rose is only projected to go number 13 uh right after our 12th pick so I don't know if we're going to get a whole lot of opportunity to trade down I could try to take raand rose with our 12th pick and trade down our seventh pick or just take best player available if someone slides if someone like Brandon Spencer or Dalton long slide they could be good picks Brandon Spencer looks like an excellent tight end don't know if I really need that though so we'll see how this plays out but I need raand Rose I would be so sad if I missed out on him um he is definitely our Target going into this thing okay with all of our trading in the last draft we own the seventh pick 12th pick 14th pick and then we have two second rounders at 3944 we have 1/3 two fourths a fifth and a seventh so we're set up well on this draft next year we don't have a lot of extra Capital we just have our normal picks so we might be looking to pick up some capital on that draft as well but we're in really good shape coming into this draft all right let's see how the first six picks go so shuttle went or subtle Sammy subtle The Edge rusher he was projected to go number one he looked really good but I wasn't going to trade up for him Barry Davidson the left tackle Brandon Spencer the tight end who I thought looked really good good as well probably generational tied end I don't know about generational but and then D long went the other guy that we were interested in at right tackle Earl Hill and then the Seahawks go Dion Martin so now we're here at 7 we also have 12 and 14 Rose is not projected to go till 13 so we kind of control that area I'm going to explore trade options but we'll likely be taking this pick all right there are a couple trades that actually do interest me the Seattle Seahawk are offering a first runner next year and then a second or sorry a first a third and a seventh next year and a second and fourth this year so we'd be trading down to 38th pick picking up a first next year picking up a third and a seventh next year and then also getting a fourth in this year's draft so that's quite a bit of value the other one that was interesting I thought is that the Falcons are offering pretty much their whole draft their first round pick at 24 their second third fourth and then a fifth next year so from to go from 7 to 24 we'd also pick up a second third and fourth this year um I'm very interested in capital next year so I don't know if I can like take this trade and then flip it for assets next year but the Seahawks trade is also very intriguing okay taking another look at the draft board raand Rose is the best player outside of these like quarterbacks that are also projected to go so I'm a little scared he's going to go and I'm not going to mess around with it this year I'm actually just going to take him and maybe look at a trade down opportunity for one of our other picks so we're going to go and select ra Andre Rose number five in True Value drafted him number seven to gave us an A minus speed speed speed good ins sticks to read and diagnose plays brings the thunder so good speed good hit power hidden Dev not surprised there 95 speed 87 acceleration 91 agility 71 strength all around amazing safety I think he's going to help our defense so much didn't want to play around there I don't want someone sneaking in there and taking R Andre R so he is ours excited about that pick all right with a lot of the quarterbacks still on the board I'm getting good offers for this 12th pick the Steelers first second a first next year and down to a second this year Seahawks down to a second this year and a first the Saints are actually offering two first round picks in 27 and 28 so that's also very intriguing to just build our future picks up Jaguars offering two future first so I think I'm going to find the best deal here and accept it looks like the Seahawks finished at 27th at 5- 12 the saints were 2 and 15 so they're desperate um I'm going to take the Saints offer of their next two years of first round picks they have a guy in this draft they really like probably a quarterback to be honest so we're going to trade the pick to the Saints see what they do and reload for the next couple years we'll have two first rounders the next two drafts which will be great um one of them might be high as well if we improve then we'll get even better picks from the Saints all right let's go ahead and accept 2027 first round 2028 first round for our number 12 overall pick done deal send it into the league office let's see who the Saints T take it's a right tackle Caleb Raglin so they traded up they didn't even want a quarterback he does look pretty good though he has very good stats out of Georgia um the right tackled Blake helling went so lots of tackles going here and it's our pick again the quarterback that we were interested in still on the board so I might take another look at him otherwise see what other positions we were talking about taking a look at the quarterback he might have Star Development but I'm just not sold he's not like generational or anything crazy I think I'm going to take my shot on the later round quarterback and use this pick to go for Mike Linton an interior offensive lineman I was excited about 64345 lbs big Power guy Elite strength good speed solid all the way around his skills look really good so I think he's a solid interor offensive lineman and we need it we have two aging guys and we need someone to be able to step in and hopefully provide promise for the future so we're going to go ahead and select Mike Linton here ranked at number 17 took him at 14 uses strength and technique to thwart power rushers excellent run blocker strong hands Drive efficient and power run Concepts hidden Dev all right 93 strength 68 speed okay solid all around he's exactly what we wanted only 21 years old um good pick for us all all right so the quarterback that we interest somewhat interested in Justin Alexander has made his way down to us in the second round at pick seven I think I might have to take him just to see um just because we were considering him the first round could be a decent quarterback um we just need someone to come in after or before Daniel Jones is gone um and yeah there's other players here obviously but we can take a shot in this quarterback and also still grab mlan later and have a quarterback battle per se we'll just take him both both I hope if we can still get mlan and see what happens Alexander's ranked 39 drafted him right at 39 pinpoint accuracy and intermediate throws makes tough throws look easy will'll stand in and deliver Under Pressure only normal Dev for him 93 thr power so we do have somebody if we need him to come in and replace Daniel Jones we'll see what the overall is later but I think just because he last that long we had to take a shot on him let's advance to our next pick and I'm going to look at who we're going to take okay I had a couple guys pegged here Marco Middleton was somewhat interesting but I just don't know if we need an outside linebacker um just very fast and athletic I I'm still tempted to take him a little bit um not really a pass rusher though more of um just a fast linebacker would be good as as an interior offensive or interior linebacker in our system which I just don't know if we need I think he'll be a really good player um but we do need to shore up our line quite a bit more so there's a couple guys here we could risk it and try to wait for John perine next round or Emanuel rhods John peryan is a second to third round talent and I don't know if he's projected to go three to four if he goes early three or late two then we'll miss out on him and I think he is going to be a better impact player for our team great speed solid strength just Elite acceleration great change of Direction Elite jumping just a really really good athlete at the defensive tackle position he'll be a good 34 defensive end for us a finesse moves B Block shedding C power moves it would be a little bit of a reach here and we could still try to get that that linebacker so it's a tough call here but I think we're going to end up going with John pyan with a little bit of a reach rank number 68 took him at 44 but we got a B+ uses active hands to easily shed too quick for some pass protectors able to quickly diagnose plays he is a hidden development so still I think a solid pick for us we took him a little bit earlier than expected we maybe could have waited and got him but I wasn't going to risk it John P Ryan welcome to the Giants okay so we simulated to our next pick in the early third round and markco Middleton is still here he's projected to be a second to third round pick and we almost took him in the second so because he's here I will end up drafting Marco Middleton the right outside linebacker out of UCLA let's see how good he is ranked number 70 took him at 71 we're like right on value here quick enough to stay with most tight ends and halfbacks plays good with good football IQ and recognition good awareness as a Zen Defender also hidden Dev awesome what a good pick I can't believe he made it back to us we've got all hidden Dev so far guys amazing draft for us all right so we're here early in the fourth round at the seventh pick it's time to take Brad McLean this will be our second quarterback off the board but we really do need a plan after Daniel Jones again this guy's a Scrambler incredible physical skills just an amazing athlete everything Elite and great throw power is just solid though his deep accuracy is not great um so he can manage maybe like a West Coast system and like a read option so I think we could make him work in our offense 22 years old beautiful spiralin passes Stands Tall in the pocket does well to avoid sacks loves to run and play outside of structure fast over the top sty motion so this is definitely a shot but it's a fourth round pick to take another quarterback that we like we're going to go ahead and take Brad mlan ranked at 145 took him at 103 extends plays makes easy throws not a cannon but shows some zip only normal Dev but has 91 speed 88 throw powers on the lower end but he can come in and compete we got two normal Dev quarterbacks now with a contract situation we need quarterbacks to come in and compete for Daniel Jones job we got two guys now unfortunately I wish he had hidden Dev but it is what it is we took a shot in a guy and he still might be good we'll get him into the building and see what we think about him all right with our next fourth round pick we're going to take a shot on Del Devin Walton who's a day three projected guy very strong defensive tackle run stopper ranked at 53 I was actually surprised with that hidden Dev 2 okay sometimes those guys that just have Elite strength are amazing 94 strength for him I was not sure that was going to work out but grabbed another great player for us what an amazing draft all right with our next pick in the fifth round we're going to take Jaylen brown right end just physically looks pretty strong and has some decent skills for a day three pick it's worth a shot ranked at 126 took him at 129 pretty much right on there he's a speed rusher I'm okay with that um was just a shot in the dark and with our next pick have a guy in mind we are going to take a running back kante Shear we did sign zamir white um and still have our rookie from last year but this guy has great strength and we passed up on that last year and it came back to bite us has a ball carry Vision B break tackle B carrying a stiff arm a a trucking so going to bring a power back into the building see what happens he's ranked at number 63 took him at 135 shows great contact balance to break tackles I love backs that can do that limits fumbles loves running over defenders is normal Dev 82 strength 88 speed so pretty decent allaround back no hidden Dev trait with him but we got some running back depth that I think we desperately need and we're going to go ahead and get to our next pick which we don't have any six round picks and we're here in the seventh let's see if there's anybody else left on our draft board otherwise we'll probably try to trade it for like a sixth rounder next year any favorites left Julian Tomlinson projected undrafted but has great strength actually really good physicals all around why not let's take a shot 196 T him at 199 normal Dev okay nothing to write home about do we have any other picks doesn't look like it let's go ahead and review our draft all right Barry Davidson the left tackle who we hadn't even looked at was an 83 overall hidden Dev probably should have taken taken more interest in him yeah that's kind of surprising to me um he didn't jump out at me at all Brandon Spencer 79 overall who I thought would be an excellent tight end Prospect 66 235 yep he is hidden Dev good stats um decided to pass on them our pick was RA Andre Rose who's a 79 has 95 speed yeah just very happy with that pick there not going to lie Dalton long is the other player we considered with 74 overall hidden Dev so he would have been a decent pick as well um but yes very happy with our trade down and the guy that we took and then let's see if there's anybody else that I was interested in Ron Allen the wide receiver I did Peak at Hidden Dev 63 out of Auburn he would have been a good player just didn't feel like I needed to slide in a wide receiver we were filling some other holes in our roster flowers did look like a good strong safety we went the other route but George flowers is an 80 overall hidden Dev so he would have been good as well very good um if our player got taken he would have been the backup plan but I do like ra Andre Rose a little bit better um who else don't remember weathers maybe no trying to see if any of these players I remember scouting oh yeah David flowers I initially looked at but it said he would be a later pick does have hidden Dev though out of North Dakota State so I was considering him but 92 throw power 78 speed he's a decent player um certainly could have looked more into him but very happy with how our draft went all right so our draft went as follows ra Andre Rose the safety we did not want to pass on is a 79 overall Mike Linton the left guard with a hidden development trait 75 overall Justin Alexander 74 overall with a normal Dev John peryan 72 overall had hidden Dev Marco Middleton 72 overall had hidden Dev Brad MC mlan only 67 overall normal Dev Delvin Walton 73 overall I believe he had hidden Dev as well yep so we got two good defensive lineman which we really need we need some players to develop on that end Jaylen Brown The Right End 68 normal Dev Keon Shear 72 overall normal Dev and then Julian Tomlinson who is 66 overall normal Dev but yeah really great draft for us we got 79 overall raand Rose is going to be a stud for us very excited about how this all played out all right so let's see where that puts us after the draft still hamstrung by Daniel Jones's contract he's in at starter Alexander is right behind him at 74 over also even better so there might be a training camp battle here for Daniel Jones to lose his job McLean is here at 67 overall Caldwell back at 82 overall only normal Dev still Malik neighbors Superstar development 87 definitely the star of the show Odell Beckham at 75 then W Del's at 8 and Jaylen Hy's at 76 Andrew Thomas is a Star Development left tackle Linton we are starting over Germain lumor he's a 75 overall with hidden Dev John Michael schmidtz lost his star Dev so we're going to have to be on the hunt for a new center we could always start a lumor um John runan at Right Guard Evan Neil 75 overall so progressing a little bit but not enough to earn a big contract Theo Johnson is at Superstar Dev only 79 overall still on the defensive end looking a little bit better over here Tyreek Wilson starting at Right End Dexter Lawrence at D tackle peryan is going to start at left end over AJ epinesa he's a good scheme fit and hopefully can develop over time Deontay Bank Superstar Dev Corner Anton Waller Superstar Dev Corner Rose slides in as a starting strong safety 79 overall hidden Dev Tyler nuban still has Superstar 83 overall Brian Burns 88 overall Superstar lton is starev middle linebacker Bobby okar has been amazing for us as a superstar Dev now probably from all those tackles 86 overall for him Kavon Tibido at 83 overall so our defense is looking very very strong offense a little bit weaker see if we can make some improvements here and see how this quarterback battle goes over the preseason maybe Alexander will be able to beat out Daniel Jones I'll have to see kind of what Daniel Jones contract looks like if we cut him otherwise his contract's up after the end of the year and we're finally free and can spend some money on some guys yep for Jones 11 million in savings but 47.5 million in penalty so we're keeping him as veteran pre presence and captain on the roster but he is certainly his time is running out here in New York this is the end of his contract looks like either Justin Alexander or possibly Brad mlan can step in at this point it looks like Alexander um but we're going to have a battle in the preseason and see who's going to come out on top all right so we just got done with the miname drill with Brad McLean our third string quarterback he's at a 67 overall but he's the really mobile quarterback um we got gold and that actually gave him a Dev trade upgrade so now he's our only quarterback with stard Dev so we might have to consider starting him right away year one um maybe a quarterback competition I don't know but this very fast quarterback just got starev so that's very intriguing okay we have a quarterback breakout we should look at putting the ball in the hands of Brad mlan as much as possible this week three touchdowns zero picks let's see if we can do something like that and maybe that'll help him get Superstar development o it we give him a Dev upgrade we might have to play this one to see if we can do this be a superstar Dev quarterback that's what I'm talking about all right looks like that has absolutely paid off I checked progression history didn't see anything in here so it must be that he's the Superstar amazing superstar X Factor he's got Zone Hawk Defenders locked on that part of the field when they enter the Zone this ability increases the rate for interceptions while in zone coverage what a beast he has 74 man coverage and 86 Zone coverage so yeah he's going to be picking people off with 95 speed 886 hit power oh love mandre Rose just got to the end of the season checked our lineup John peryan who we drafted this past season is SuperStar development and again taking a look at his progression history doesn't look like he earned it so we drafted him that way maybe we should be checking those as we go um just takes a long time for it to unlock but yes perine is a superstar development so now our defense is looking absolutely filthy only a couple people don't have good development traits um is lton hurt why is lton not starting oh because Oak her came back I had to adjust my lineup to get lton starting all right so taking a look at the end of the season Brad mlan ended with 3700 pass yards 29 touchdowns 13 picks um it's okay only 28 yards per game not the best but he is developing quickly he's an 80 overall now but he started at like a 68 so um moving along quite nicely there Jean Caldwell had 800 yards 10 touchdowns he was injured a lot I mean that's a story of his life he keeps getting injured but when he does play he's good zamir white filled in nicely for him averaging 3.9 a carry got nine touchdowns himself mlan only rushed for 250 yards maybe we'll have to change our Playbook to utilize his speed do something like the Ravens um Malik neighbors 80 catches 1,200 yards eight touchdowns juandale got 12 touchdowns and 900 yards that's a good year for him Odell Beckham getting up there in age Odell Beckham got still got 800 yards seven touchdowns Theo Johnson 400 yards one touchdown that's not good production out of our starting tight end he's Superstar development too so that's really strange maybe we'll have to look for another receiving option at tight end defensively Banks led the team of 73 okar was injured a lot of the year so that's why he's only down at 66 Newman had 69 tackles for a loss Tyree Wilson led the team with nine saaks also Tyree Wilson 12 and a half he had a really good year actually for being one of our only players without stard Dev or higher interceptions three for rer three for the rookie ra Andre Rose two for Banks two for lton one for Simmons one for new and one for Anton Waller That Just About Does it for the stats let's go ahead and look at the inseason awards see if anybody won anything didn't get offensive or defensive player of the year that was Dak Prescott and Micah Parsons both Cowboys offensive rookie of the year goes to Brad McLean that'll help I wonder if that'll bump him up to X Factor that would be crazy that would be absolutely crazy defense of verander Rose was in third the contract is up we are going to be looking dangerous going into next season mlan was 26 of 30 300 yards three touchdowns no picks rushing he also added 38 yards Caldwell at 54 yards in a touchdown zamir white got in there for seven carries in a touchdown receiving Odell led the way eight catches 100 yards and a touchdown so veteran Odell with 12 years experience in the NFL helps the Giants win rebuild went really quickly went faster than I thought it was going to um we were able to win a Super Bowl um with a rookie quarterback totally unexpected um I really felt like this rebuild was just
