[Music] wow they brought this more over this was the closest they brought they moved all of this close yeah they brought the this close to the faway wow hey I'm Bradford Wilson I'm at East Lake just before TOUR Championship look they took down Tiger Woods landing spot and we back in '98 he was he he uh he knocked it on the green on two today special cuz I get to walk the grounds with two local Legends Kelvin and Melvin FL they flipped it this is the bat nine now they grew up cading at this course for the last 15 years so they're going to show me around and tell me how golf came into their lives this is like a second home to you how long has East Lake been a part of your lives 20 years 20 years majority majority 15 20 years maybe maybe more than that when we walked out we started the first T program when we walked Tiger Woods out back in '98 it gave every everybody enthusiasm they're like hold on y'all from the west side of Atlanta y'all from the salons and y'all playing golf so they're like oh we going to call you tiger Hood this was trees it was it was a couple of trees right here look where they put the bunkers in the front this proves true every single time I have a conversation with black people that are deeply invested in golf you have to see somebody that you know that you admire participating in the game having finding success in it before you can even fix your mind to say that this is possible this was all rough or bushes you have been done if that you over hit the ball EAS lake is never dealing with race it's never they want everybody good my brother they want us all a community it's a community it's a family it's everything you looking at the professional caddies of East Lake right here all day all real CAD this this my home this the highest point in Atlanta Georgia right here you can see the whole City View you see the whole city view this is my favorite hole I love this hole out of the whole golf course this hole right here is my number one favorite hole I always hit a good drive I always hit a good drive and hit it on too this hole always gave us confidence to go for it yeah so when you made the transition to golf what were some of those first lessons that you picked up it taught me discipline it taught me confidence and it caught taught me to just keep going hard no matter if there's a bump in the [Music] road wasn't kindergarten we seen our mother cry my brother teacher didn't understand the whole concept we didn't know a language we was trying to learn to speak English and she told my mom they would never be nothing and that they going to always struggle and this is exactly what what made me go harder was because of that teacher and seen my mother cry because school is a little bit more of a challenge how do you think golf like helped you with all that now I look at people how people were looking at me when I didn't know how to read and write so guess what I got to use my my life skills what I went through and re switch it and tell them hey you can be that you can do this you can do this this how you do it you got to stick with it you can't give up on this game they put FC they doing f skue ma oh this feels so good oh these are bent Fairways no it only uh according to the hole they do it just likey that's what it is so if they get close to the hole is different grass but then it's zoria from here that this Z gra Miss bent you look out and you know every nook and cranny to this place now you see it all dressed up but it's still East Lake to you how does that feel it if it feel great it shows me that if I be able to see the highest level of professional be able to come on this place I can go anywhere and be professional yeah on the same level because the simple fact of what East Lake has been to me hey East Lake have gave me that time East Lake have put time into US East Lake have gave us the opportunity and the good thing about this place majority of people that works here are the same people that probably start from cading this is one of the old all time caddies right here grounds keeping to the point that they work their s up they have literally put people in position to be able to be HED and that's one thing that I do love about East Lake that I don't think that have ever seen at another club run know R things
