Saquon Barkley just took the Eagles Offense to the NEXT LEVEL - Packers vs Eagles Reaction

all right welcome back into the channel and welcome in for another video and yes this is one of the videos on my NFL channel that I get to talk about and glaze my Philadelphia Eagles if you don't like it see you on the next video but the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Green Bay Packers last night 34 to 29 to open up the season and I'm going to give my thoughts on the game as a whole at the end of this video but I'm going to start by talking about saquin Barkley and the addition that the Philadelphia Eagles made to bring him in this off SE and what he did that really just impressed the hell out of me in this first game because when the Eagles paid saquin you know close to 14 million a year over three years it was a very split contract in the NFL space you had people saying waste of money you don't pay the running back teams don't win Super Bowls with a good running back yada yada whatever it was and I came out here and I said I think that this is a good move I think that this is a luxury move for sure but a team like the Ravens bringing in Derrik Henry the Packers bringing in Josh Jacobs and the Eagles bringing in saquon Barkley when you feel you were at that Contender level the luxury of a running back can be what pushes you over the edge and I thought saquon Barkley to the Philadelphia Eagles had the ability to be what Christian mcaffrey is to the San Francisco 49ers and it's a one game sample size I hear you but sequan Ley might be the Philadelphia Eagles Christian mcaffrey if you watch this game you know exactly what I mean now he's not the receiving threat that maccaffrey is I'm not saying copy paste mcaffrey boom that is what the Eagles have no but this is the Catalyst to make this team once again an elite level offense 24 carries 109 yards two touchdowns in this game he had that very just nasty receiving touchdown 18 yd wheel route the eag been working on Wheel routes all training camp I've been following that I knew it was coming I didn't know it was going to be the first touchdown of the game the toe tap I mean a great throw by Jaylen even better catch by saquon Barkley but what this guy has the ability to do is really just rejuvenate and push the Eagles offense to the next level having a Dependable Workhorse running back that is as explosive and Shifty as saquon Barkley is something that you can't always materialize until you see it on the field and we saw it on the field versus the Packers and time and time again the Eagles offense very clearly ran through saquan Barkley it's something that's interesting for me as an Eagles fan and somebody who clearly keeps a close eye on the team last year it felt like this is jayen hers and AJ Brown show this past game versus the Packers felt like this is saquon Barkley's offense and it's not that it looked bad and honestly it looked pretty good and if it wasn't for a really bad throw from Jaylen Herz the Eagles offense could have put up 40 points in this one saquon Barkley carried the load he carried the team his back must have been hurting from that carry work that he was doing and this shiftiness and explosiveness is still there a lot of people thought that it fell off once that the Giants offensive line got worse and Daniel Jones kind of you know took over for Eli Manning and I said this going into the season and I said this when the Eagles signed the guy but this is the best offensive line and just the best offense as a whole for sure that saquon Barkley has ever been a part of the past two to three seasons on the Giants boxes have been stacked you have been the focus of defensive game plans and you can't do that now playing alongside an AJ Brown a Devon Smith a Dallas Godard the same way that maccaffrey moving from Carolina to San Francisco playing alongside ayuk Debo and KD really opened things up for him to the level of where he won an offensive player of the year last year we could be seeing a similar effect with s Barkley in Philadelphia and again I'm not trying to be that guy that overreacts to one game and says Sequon Barkley is about to be the offensive player of the year the Eagles are going to win the Super Bowl Jaylen Herz listen I'm not saying that but we all undisputedly agreed that saquon Barkley was a top five running back talent in the NFL even if you gave it a little push back there top 10 but now he's in a system which is going to allow him to produce at an efficient and Elite level which he has not not seen in a very very long time and for the Eagles what this means is their offense now could be run or pass heavy last year I think a big problem for this team was their inability to consistently run the football I know myself as a fan and many others wanted the team to run the ball more with DeAndre Swift and you know it's no shade at DeAndre Swift but when you have a saquan Barkley you have no choice but to run the ball more kind of similar to Baltimore really in the AFC Championship they wanted you know their fans wanted them to run the ball more they didn't but now you go and get Derrick Henry there's no excuses when you bring saquon Barkley into the fold there is no excuses to not run the ball to not treat this guy like a Workhorse and the Philadelphia Eagles did just that in game one the offense looks great they put up 34 points they got a w and it's like who did we just unlock something here because eventually these consistent rushing plays will open up the Play action will open up the Deep plays and then you have guys like AJ Brown Devon Smith GD Johan doson who can take the top off of defenses or at least find soft spots in zone coverages 20 yards down the field AJ Browns deep touchdown tonight could have been a result of the Packers saying this saquin Barkley keeps on killing us man and after an offseason filled with doubt on whether or not saquin would be able to produce in Philly fantasy football experts telling you that saquin was going to be a bust of a pick one game in this guy looks like he could be the offensive player of the year in 2024 and the sky is the limit for the Eagles offense as a whole when it comes to last night's game versus the Packers here's some quick thoughts for you guys Jaylen herdz needs to be a better decision maker I get it Kell Moore's offense is a little complicated but he should have thrown four interceptions in this game he threw two really bad ones should have had two more the the one that didn't happen Dixon could have had a pick six on that disastrous throw to Jan doson I have no idea what Jaylen Herz was thinking there you know that Jaylen Herz isn't a good quarterback truthers are running laps on Twitter tonight despite him getting the win and it's not that I don't think Jaylen Herz is a good quarterback but I do think he sometimes has a little bit of a let's play Hero ball mentality and that doesn't always work especially against a good defense like the Green Bay Packers oh my if my eyes are a little watery it's cuz during that cut there I just coughed up a lung but anyways as I was saying this Eagles offense is complex there's a lot to figure out but Jaylen Herz did not play his best football but the Eagles still put up 34 points and got a win the Eagles lost the turnover differential 3 to1 -2 and they got the win that doesn't happen often in the NFL and I get it on one hand you could say it's sloppy football from a sloppy team and it'll catch up to them eventually and you could certainly make that case because it did last year but something about it just feels to me like this team played some not not their best football and still against a really good Packers team put up over 30 points and won the game what happens when they start firing at all cylinders especially on that offensive side of the ball cuz I thought the Eagles defense was fine the defense really held it together in the first quarter for the Eagles um they gave up a field goal on the opening drive to the Packers and then the Eagles committed two turnovers that led to the Packers having the ball in the red zone and they kept it a one possession game all throughout that I thought that was very impressive the Eagles defense obviously young has some learning to do and from the Green Bay Packers perspective of thing uh Josh Jacobs took a little bit while to get going in this game but once he got going he was certainly going Jaden Reed is an absolute stud for anybody who thought he was the wide receiver one on this team I think it's going to be the case in nine games the guy has nine touchdowns at this point he had a 33 yard rushing touchdown uh that made Xavier worthy I mean it was the same play a different night he had four receptions for 138 yards in this one had a 70 yard touchdown the guy was an absolute freak Jordan love he looked impressive at some points but looked a little shaky at others you know love finished the game 17 of 34 just a 50% completion percentage not great 260 yards two touchdowns one interception Jordan love is an interesting player to me because there's times where he throws the ball and I'm like oh my god did he just throw that and sometimes at the end of that it works out and it's a huge play and you're like oh my God he just threw that and other times it's that almost pick six for Kobe de like oh my god did he just throw that a guy who doesn't get sacked a ton can move around in the pocket very well but is willing to throw off of his back foot a very electric player at least in this game obviously prayers up to him suffered a lower leg injury at the end of this game I don't know the extent of it at this time but the Green Bay Packers with the addition of Xavier McKenna Kenny Clark played really well veran Gary had that sack on uh Jaylen Herz when the Eagles offensive line thought that the Packers jump but it turns out that they didn't really good play there to stop a drive so I think both of these teams will be in the playoff mix barring obviously health concerns with Jordan love right now for the Packers and obviously if there's major injuries to either of these teams but I do think that they're in the mix come playoff time uh I think this could have been an NFC Championship preview again similar to what I said about Baltimore Kansas City the first week of the NFL season the first couple are usually a little sloppy but these were clearly two of
