Intro we're doing the mailbag segment here folks and this is going to be a fun one I actually took a a comment it wasn't really a question from a Bears fan I can't wait for you to see it my response give you my thoughts on this one so let's go ahead and get this started here Will Sam Darnold have a sophomore slump um I'm going to move over to about right here okay like for me to unblur here it says will Sam leaport have a sophore slump do I think that Sam leaport is going to have a sophomore slump I do not think he's going to have a sophomore slump at all I think that he is going to continue to produce at a high level and even be better than last year a lot of the players defenses already knew that Sam leaport is a good player halfway through the season about that time and even in the playoffs and guess what they couldn't stop Sam leapor why because he is very good route Runner and when he makes his when he makes his cut it is always going to be better than who's potentially covering him we're talking about linebackers or nickel Corners he's just so good that it's hard to control that it is something that he is just better than other people with and that means unless he gets injured he's going to continue to get open he's going to continue to catch football he's just a Sound Player so now I don't think he's going to have a sophomore slump at all I don't do not believe that's the case this was this is a player who was immediately good from when the moment as a rookie in ota's in mini camp it was seen day one that this guy was outstanding I don't think there's going to be a sophomore slump at all for Sam leaport let's get the juices flowing with the the question you you guys will like first off do you guys think he's going to have a sophomore slump why for yes and for no love the comment section here's the statement Lions window is closed from the Bears fan here the Lion's window is closed the Bears are much better than the Lions the Bears are winning the Super Bowl and the lions are back to the bottom of the NFC North look I'm I'm very happy that Bears fans are in this Bears fan in particular is delusional uh because when they see that reality hits they're not going to be this the NFC North Champions they're not going 17-0 I don't I see a lot of bears content creators I and I'm friends with a lot of them but sometimes I just feel like they're not thinking realistically last year they said they'd go 13 and three the year before that 14-2 then 12 wins Super Bowl like every single time it is not delivered now I do think that the Bears are a better football team they are better this year than they were last year they're probably going to win more games they're going to be competitive but for them to win the north the Lions go to the fourth place in the NFC North that's just ludicrous Lions aren't going to fall off a cliff they continue to have talent on this team and the coaching staff is good when you do that they're going to win that is what happens the window is not closed whoever keeps saying that the lion windows closed is absolutely lying to you there I if you know anything about the draft and how to build a rust you know that it's all about finding talent in the draft and you have the young players playing and it saves you a roster you get good player all of that and it's been through the draft and Brad hols has done it and he continues to be successful in the draft until he sucks at the draft the Lions window is going to always be open until he he falls off a cliff in the draft that's the truth Lion's window is not closing okay and I'm not going to be cocking to oh the best team in the NFL for like 10 straight years no I think it's going to be difficult in the NFC North a lot of good teams the Packers are good right the the the Bears are better we don't really know anything about the Vikings but I do think the lions are the most complete team into the bunch and they're not going to fall off a cliff so that's just a ludicrous Ranking Jared Goff statement what rank do you have for Jared gof you know we we do these quarterback rankings 321 through 32 Jared G he is funny because a lot of people assume you know when we got him they said he was like the worst quarterback literally 32 in the NFL I remember seeing it every every power ranking for quarterbacks he was the worst um I didn't think he's that bad definitely didn't think he's that bad and he's shown that he's a he's a good quarterback in the NFL what what what ranking I think for him he's top 10 maybe a seven right there you know something in that nature I think he's top 10 his clutch ability is leite and his like you look at his stat is okay he reads he's good at reading defense he's smart quarterback I I think he's pretty damn good he's a top 10 in reading and being smart where he puts the football he distributes the football really well his spirals all not that great sometimes um he misses with the power throw sometimes he can really launch it in there like a like a cannon sometimes it doesn't do that um he's a master at knowing who's around him like he doesn't take sacks that much he feels the pressure well and he is in to me he's Elites in the clutch he's Elites in the clutch and that's what separates him from a lot of other quarterbacks is I am completely comfortable with Jared gof when it's Fourth and five and we got to get a first down to win a game I have now I am comfortable with him he's very calm and he just throws the football you know we would have been in the Super Bowl if these people would have caughted the ball he threw perfect passes to Josh Reynolds in the championship game it wasn't that was not his fault that he we didn't get there it wasn't him so I think he's seven he's a top 10 for sure I think he you know around seven I think he is I think he's really really good and I like our quarterback Jared G I do and question where would you rank Max Crosby Jared G one through 32 blow up the comment section would you trade for Max Crosby well first off Max Crosby to me is probably the best pass rusher in football I think him and Nick Bosa are up there and I Max Crosby is really really good if you watch him play would I love him on this team oh my God I think if if we got Max Crosby Lions winning the Super Bowl right uh but to get him you have to give up multiple first round picks and you got to pay his salary I don't this not going to happen I don't see at all I give this 0 Z 0 1% chance of lions trading for Max Crosby now look if the Raiders are absolutely terrible before the trade deadline maybe you're going to hear mumbles of that right cuz they don't have a quarterback over there and I don't believe in the quarterbacks they have so maybe they're like you know what we're just going to go ahead and trade a Max Crosby get a couple first round picks and then build this team the right way that could be a situation I just don't see the lions at all trading for Max Crosby and give up multiple first round picks I don't see that at all that is not Brad Holmes way I would love Max Crosby but that's just not the way he doesn't mortgage the future he never does that Brad Holmes he'll give up draft picks but they're late draft picks or or something that he has extra of but he is not going to give up gigant I haven't seen anything to suggest you would do it so um besides the golf Stafford trade I you just I don't see a situation I don't because he's smart with his draft picks and we want him to continue to draft well he's really really good name Breakout Player a breakout player in 2024 love this question here um there is a lot of players I think you can do breakout you can do rookies and Veterans tyon Arnold even though he's a rookie could have a breakout season I'm not going to put him on on here because I've talked about him a lot let me go with the different player here I'm gonna Al mcneel got five sacks last year is that breakout I do believe so um I think he can break out and get more I think Al McNeil is going to have a really good season this year because of DJ reader I'll say say he gets like seven or eight sacks even though he's a defensive tackle he is the more of the pass rushing type he was getting double team last year and he still is getting sacks he looked really good I'm going to go ahead and put him as my breakout player because DJ reer is going to take on these double teams it's going to give AE mcneel one-on ones it's going to give him an opportunity to disrupt He's already good stopping the run so I'm going to go with thee mcneel here is a breakout player for me defensively offensively who who do I think could be a Breakout player uh Donovan peoples Jones it makes out uh make I think he could be a breakout player not saying he's going to get a billion yards maybe like 500 yards but to me that's a breakout for what he's going to be I think he's going to be like a a a number four5 wide receiver in there and I think him he's going to make up for some of the Josh Reynolds so I'll put is Donovan peoples Jones as a breakout player like 500 yards and be like five touchdowns to me that's breakout because they didn't do anything really that last year after we traded for him maybe 100 I think it's like 130 yards reception so I'll go with those two for offense and defense name a breakout player from your guys' perspective in the comments below next question here will car will Lions resigned Carlton Davis this is a good question and I think this something that we don't talk about enough the Lions traded for Carlton Davis gave a third round pick and he's a good Corner he's on the last year of his deal lions got money here's the thing I think that they if he comes out here and does really well I want the Detroit Lions to resign him I do I know we got Andis rag straw I know that but it we have been having problems with the corner position if he comes in here we gave up a third round pick third round pick's a high pick so if he comes in here and blows it up I have no problem resigning Carlton Davis to a longear deal because you got tyon Arnold at this point who's a rookie so you can carry one of these guys with a bigger contract and then after you know this if they did a four-year deal with him or a three-year deal Andis R straw come in and guess what at that point you got to repay tyon Arnold a new contract when he's off his rookie deal so I think that's the best I I would do it if he comes out here and he shows that he's a really good Corner go ahead lock Davis up so we can have we would then have this this is this is what we would have locked up right because I think Al McNeil is going to get locked up your your defense your studs on your defense for the long term we're just going to go with certain players here you would have aidah Hudson he's a blue chipper we got a Lee mcneel in my my opinion he's going to elevate himself to a blue chipper this year right so you got the defensive line there's some good pieces there at the linebacker position Alex anzalone's a good linebacker and Davis Derek Barnes and and obviously my guy whom we drafted at the 18th pick really damn good Jack Campbell so one of these guys could you know you got a you got a really good players right there and then the secondary turn Al then you locked up caran Davis so all three phases you have some sound players on this defense and I think that's important to have sound all over the defense the defense is the one that needs help if he does good lock him up what should the Lions do for to upgrade the roster here um wait right now I wait till it's cut down to 53 other teams see who gets released instead of trading for a player you potentially could sign a player that could be upgrade the roster that's really it uh for me right now I don't think they're going to sign anybody until until that right uh or if they feel like position gets unless there's an injury or a significant one Edge or wide receiver you could wait till cutdowns right so we that's a way to do it a trade deadline as well but I'm I'm not really we don't know who's going to be good or bad at that point we don't know what teams are going to be sellers or buyers so right now wait till the 53 man roster is done in the upcoming videos we're dropping videos every single day it's going
