College Football Connection Week 2: Illini Try to Topple KU

going inside college football this is the college football connection podcast with Marty Jenkins and Alvin Reed on 101 ESPN and and we're sitting here again we're sitting here again talking about the same things about not finishing when you have an opponent in a position to put them away but what we're doing on the sideline is feeling like the game's over and I'm so angry about it that I got to do something about it I'm not doing a good enough job as a coach and I got to coach him better because it's unacceptable for us not to have found a way to win this football game it's ridiculous y'all going to write crap y'all going to write terrible stuff and when we do great y'all going to write great stuff you know that's okay oh if those two utterly recognizable voices didn't give it away we are off en rolling week number one of the college football campaign it's in the books and your boys from the college football connection we are back primed and ready for week number two Bradford Bruns Marty Jenkins as well as Alvin Reed boys back for week number two week number two on the 101 ESPN YouTube channel and thanks to ESPN as well as the Atlanta Journal Constitution we just heard from the likes of Brian Kelly and Dabo Sweeney For Whom the results in week one didn't exactly go so well initial thoughts on those sentiments from two of our favorites well I I I I called Dabo which was one of the few that I got right this we I saw that FR trade coming but Brian Kelly man that's like going out in public and saying my kids are bad well you're their parent man you know like you're you're a charge I I I just that's the Brian Kelly thing it's it's their fault I'll I'll get on them I'll scold them but it's their fault it's not my fault was my fault at Notre Dame yeah it wasn't my fault that I left in the middle of the night on my kids in Cincinnati while they were preparing for you know a major bowl game you know it's not my fault yeah right pass it on pass it on uh well I don't know what to go with first you mentioned Notre aame I mean how about that dub in College Station to Second Brian Kelly it is your fault you know you got to get that together you know it's just inexcusable it's the same old same old from him every year um and in terms of Dabo all were right man that eulogy is it's written out you know I hey it was what was it at half 63 it was a game more than a game yeah yeah game yeah and then they woke up the second half and decided all right let's get this over with well well and Clemson has no offense and they haven't had any offense for since uh uh Jaguar's quarterback left Lawrence right so I mean it is what it is you know the the one kid that transferred That was supposed to be the next Heisman Trophy winner that never panned out I can't hold that against uh D but at the same time that performance is such that once again yeah it was game at Halftime but you didn't have any offense in the first half and you didn't have any offense in the second half nope it is what it is down in uh College Station too last weekend boys I'm fired up about that one as well you should be in case you missed it out there in the audience Marty referencing Notre Dame's Big Time Triumph in week number one going to College Station Kyle Field and sealing that deal in the waning seconds inviting some of the comments that you just heard at the top of this program also Georgia making mint meet down the stretch of Clemson we're not going to dig into a lot of Bulldogs Tigers even sorry Marty Fighting Irish Centric content this Friday however there are many many Big Time matchups into which to delve gentlemen we're going to actually kick it off week number two style Alvin by traveling to Champagne which I know is on your agenda for the very very near future what an environment you guys kind of hey it's okay it was okay last week to scoff at me a little bit in so far as I said champagne's going to be rocking for the II ini ini matchup versus Eastern Illinois but it was a throttling 452 nothing but this time around with KU coming to town Alvin it's the first sellout crowd believe it or not since 2016 for the faithful there in Champagne youve got KU favored by relatively small number here the number is now at four and a half the over under in this contest a 6m kickoff on Saturday evening in Illinois 57 and a half and we may not have learned a lot about either program last week Illinois ran rough shot over visiting Eastern Illinois 45 to nothing as previously referenced KU doing likewise versus Lyon went in a game that was played at the soccer park as we established last weekend but what particularly good things from the offense especially the ground game did you see last weekend that gives you more hope going into that environment tomorrow night well you know with uh uh Devon Neil and Daniel haaw you truly have a running game and the line looked pretty pretty solid and they only played a half and I appreciate the fact they only played a half because I didn't want you know anyone to get hurt and you know last year it we we I hate to say that but KU made it a blackout and um the place was like 90% of the fans did have some type of black jhawk um you know paraphernalia on and it was very very close to sellout and we would would go on and sell out you know more games I think a lot of people are coming from Chicago I know that Chicago alumni I'm going to a Chicago KU alumni function uh before the game I think that's part of it but also I think that Illinois those fans that were there said like hey you can be a bad team and get your crap together and we kind of witnessed it and I think that led into this game this game was not sold out like four five weeks ago true and now that the season is here I think people are say like hey this is something to see this is this is a good college football game at six o'clock on a Saturday night west midwest and I'm I'm just glad to I'm glad that uh you know I'm glad that the game is sold out I want you know I want the kids is like Hey listen when you play if if you continue to play well people are going to show up make it an event yeah they're going to make it an event so I'm I'm all for it I'll start off by saying you know that original line I thought was too high I it's back down to 4.5 I I'm still I'm still GNA give those points to Illinois I I feel like that K will win the football game I just don't know that they will cover the 4.5 I think this will be about a missed field goal a made field goal something like that I think I I think Kansas gets out of there with a win but I don't think Kansas covers 4.5 maybe Marty perhaps even yearly comparable to last year when KU won but it was 34 to 23 and pretty competitive well it was it was 287 yeah yeah yeah that's all I I was going to say they really had him down and then you know God bless Illinois they came they came back but I would like to be up 287 again and if if the score got to 287 I would think to myself I think I missed given the 4.5 points there ain't no way illino win this game you're you're you're convinced they didn't you didn't see anything on that field against eiu eiu you just said I'm trying come on stall back hey hey that D line is you know the alion eyes a keil heel um defensively Kansas secondary zilles Hill but I don't think Luke altm is going to tear them up in the air I I mean look uh 55 and a half to 57 and a half I'm going the opposite way and going the under because I do think Kansas is going to score a lot of points but I don't see the Ali I scoring points um hyped atmosphere yeah sold out it's going to be great but Kansas is simply the better team I mean five and a half four and a half give me KU by 21 you're a talent and the under I I I did I did I also played the under I had the under at 55 and a half so def I'm still going to stick with the under 575 as bullish as I was guys on Illinois last week and I frankly thought hey this team can open up a can against Eastern Illinois it did just that y but I need to see not only consecutive weeks that type of performance that type of offensive output especially from the quarterback position but to do it against a representative opponent KU is precisely that Alvin great point in reference to just last year how that game wasn't exactly a game for the Lion Share of the tilt this time around last week I mean shoot you didn't even need Neil to assume to absorb the lion Sher of the carries and yet where was that production it was phenomenal this is a Daniels signature game for me score will last season how quickly a lot of us naturally forget because of the injury foibles because of the issues naturally this guy for more than one good reason recognized as the Big 12 offensive player of the year and then all the a struck this is going to be not a coming out party for him per se in 2024 but he is going to absolutely have a Heyday against this Illinois secondary if that line if that line and it is a question we'll see a couple of Series in just how effective those guys can be in pass Pro but when you're talking about a singular Talent at that position I love the matchup for him in this one and that number four and a half that seems incredibly small to me KU will win without question by double digit and yet even in junk time garbage time I don't Envision Illinois being able to do enough to push that over on your figure will go under as well is This Clean Sweep across the board there you go same thing book it easy to track right easy to track in that department now let's move it over though to the Big 10 and SEC style we're going to throw it in reverse six matchups overall today on the college football connection but number two is going to pertain to the proceedings in an arbor last week week for Michigan we talked about it before we went on the air Alvin Wolverines maybe messed around a little bit perhaps kept things deliberately close to the chest to the vest however you want to categorize it but into the fourth quarter hn it completely pulled away from Fresno State whereas Texas was everything and then some in its preliminary game we have two of the four teams gentlemen that played for it all last year in the college football playoff this is an 11 a.m. kickoff the big house Michigan right now the defending national champion not favored Texas has the edge at present number three Longhorns favored by seven now that number it's hovered a little bit it has fluctuated it was at seven and a half now down to just a touchdown and an extra point with an over under of 42 and a half I'm intrigued to see what Michigan is able to do in terms of protecting its own house and just how well this defense which is still that calling card especially now make no mistak about it how much of a pass rush can be generated how much consistent pressure can really be thrown out there against Quinn yers it's a very intriguing match up for me on paper and the environment to me Marty it means everything the environment in and of itself creates a sizable advantage in that regard for Michigan will it be enough I don't know about the quarterback position Michigan is going to have to figure out how to how to create some chunk plays in this game against an athletic physic physical long WS defense and I don't know if the sustained drives will be there for the better part of the game I just don't that's also why I'm looking at that figure I'm saying to myself 42 and a half with the defensive Talent on both sides of the ball I just don't know if they get there who you rolling with in that one Michigan will hang into the second half okay I think that the ground attack is able to do enough o line pushing off of The Edge will do enough Michigan hangs him somewhat begrudgingly okay buy a touchdown fine I'll take it Texas is going to win straight up make no mistake about that against the Maze and blue but that number of 42 and a half these guys are not getting to the 40s not in this one interesting no no no no no no no you disagree um listen these are are two programs well just for this season in particular trending in opposite directions a lot of people think Michigan maybe does take a step back this year uh maybe a nine and three Texas on the other hand will they get over the hump this year you know ERS aerial threats Galore defense solid that offensive line is going to have an absolute field day I believe in Ann Arbor it is going to be a tough environment but and listen this is the only thing that scares me this bad boy opened up at where let me double check here this bad boy opened up at three in a half and we're all the way up to seven seven and a half on some books that's what scares me a little bit um I'm staying away from the point spread in this game gentlemen but I do have my lock of the week so I can get away with not making two picks on this one the lock of the week here it is is the over in this game oh I think that bad boy will hit by halftime you think Davis Warren can do enough at the controls or maybe Michigan platoon it I think they get 10 to 13 points but I think Texas scores all day in an arbor okay I think Michigan will play one of the most 1965 is football games we've seen in a long time we are going to run the you have to right exactly by the way today is my birthday in case anybody was yeah what yes I'm I'm 64 years old today where's my news alert where's my breaking news uh this should have been mentioned to me prior to me coming today cuz I would have like seriously I would have brought like a cake and the road had cake I had cake and ice cream of Plenty yesterday uh my present is I get to go on this little road trip by myself so I'm all good yeah next week you're gonna get a present for me Michigan right here Michigan I think will run the ball I think Michigan will run the clock play clock down to 1 second over and over and over again and they'll lean on that defense and next thing you know it'll be the fourth quarter and it'll be a close game can Michigan pull off an upset I absolutely do think so but I definitely think Michigan can come within seven points so I am going to take my seven against Texas but I also am going to play the under I I just I just I'm like you I don't see that many points in this game sounds like maybe if you're out there making some bets you they mess with that Michigan money line you know I'd had to see what the you know I don't know what the money line payback is on it 250 3 to one all right 3 to one all right you know and I I'm more of a if I'm gonna go I I I want to go I'm I'm thinking four or five to one okay you know I I because just I want it to pay off of if I'm gonna risk it I really want it to pay off that's not enough but I do think that they can I think they can hang I think Michigan could win could because I really think if could get some momentum and I think if Michigan actually got the lead had the lead in the second half I think that all of a sudden Texas isn't this world beater anymore and they start to question themselves I will say this last week on this show I openly question okay exactly whom is going to replace Xavier worthy that was a nice performance by the way last night my goodness gracious in the Texas receiving Corp well all Ryan Wingo that's a name very familiar to those out especially in this Regional listening audience and Isaiah B did last week was absolutely go off I need to see again another week out of them as well of that premium statistical production a better team but yeah but at the same time Texas hey very well could have reloaded Bond coming over from Alabama he did so for a reason as well could go one way or the other I just think with it there you cannot discount how much that atmosphere does mean this is for all intents and and purposes the swing game for Michigan that could really dictate whether you're talking about a team that is still challenging for the upper echelon in the Big 10 or will there be more of an extreme falloff decline in 2024 I Michigan could win this game and could lose it Purdue I mean I'm I'm not that sold on them over 11 or 12 games but I think the second week of the season in an arbor against Texas on on what's apparently going to be a fall day you know like we are you're we're not running out here in this blazing heat Texas is going to be just a a regular old college football game and we'll see you know maybe this is my Texas Pro it game last week Notre Dame it was my Pro it game and Notre Dame proved it and let me tell you what you know it was like where were we at with six seven minutes left in that game said like all right Notre Dame here it is right either score or you know the wolf is at the door right and they they scored and then they got another you know another touchdown they went by 10 it looks like oh yeah we were in control all the way although I did think they were in control but the scoreboard didn't show it so they proved it on a side not this is the Texas thing yeah yeah on a side note speaking of Texas I think A&M's Gonna Be Better Than People expected this year oh no I absolutely that defense I was just going to say that same thing I think what people will see is Notre Dame's offense is not as kind of stagnant as it was for great portions of that game because Texas A&M was playing some hellified defense Notre a defense is off the charts yes yes speaking of Sterling defensive units guys how about Corey baton Squad in week number one yes I understand I understand exactly who came to town in the form of the Murray State Racers taking it on the chin 51 to Z last Thursday night in Colombia missou for the second consecutive year has that nice Prime Time night number one showcase if you will well this week rolling into ffield none other than the Buffalo Bulls missou favorite at present by 34 and a half also has climbed to number nine in the rankings over under figure here at 51 and a half for a 6:00 kickoff at Memorial Stadium and guys being there in attendance last Thursday night and we were texting about just what those attendance figures turned out to be how close to the sellout projections it was a sell out the official number was well in excess of 62,000 I would venture to say it was a good crowd it was a very enthusiastic crowd probably 70 to 75% filled and this crowd was going absolutely bananas just minutes into the contest because blink and you miss it here's Luther Burton 19 yards out H couple minutes in oh seven and a half minutes in your first pick six of the Season courtesy of the hometown product Tano Pride Jr thank you very much coming over from Clemson the defense did its thing and did its thing in waves the twos the threes we mentioned how much action the offensive freshman and newcomers how much they would see it was the same way on defense I'm curious to see exactly how much more crisp this offensive attack under Kirby Moore is in week number two because the fact of the matter is Alvin last week missou puts up 50 plus didn't expect them necessarily to get to that number number yet doing so without having played a very sharp second quarter with Brady cook actually missing an inordinate number of throws he hits on some of those if Burton doesn't fumble if Johnson if Cooper make more plays in the passing game that one could have been that much more ugly which is why I see the figure here of 34 and a half and I'm saying to myself not only is this defense going to proceed to wreak havoc Johnny Walker Jr coming off of the edge against these guys oh my goodness gracious but the offense is going to hum to a greater degree a couple of things to note second half the ois Brett Norfleet they exited early last week I think primarily for precautionary reasons but if missou has its full arsenal not even its full arsenal I can't wait to see what Noel Carol those guys continue to do in the running game too missou in a route here seven touchdown Affair I'm telling you right now and because of the Tigers offensive prowess give me the over in this contest too all right I'm waiting to see if uh Buffalo's coach could be as nearly as stupid as Murray State's coach was come on man let's onside kick let's give Missouri the ball at our 45 yard line I save that voicemail you sent me by the way right then oh hey let's go let's go for it on our own what 34 yard line sure yeah yeah sure what and all right so now you're now 14 to nothing and your kids are ready to just go back can we just leave now it's really hot and they're about to just beat us down can we can we just go they play 10-minute quarters elsewhere in the could have gotten to that point com too yeah so I I do believe Buffalo will be a little bit more like Hey we're going to kick the ball off let's let's hold them you know and the first time we have to punt we're gonna punt yeah okay and we're not going to just like capitulate five minutes into the ball game but I'm with you I think Missouri covers I think we're going on the over two I I do you know Buffalo the ma they do play some good football but Buffalo is coming back you know they're not they're not in the upper half of the MC this year we'll see you know I I got a feeling about this one first off you Alvin missou over uh Bradford missou over as well listen it is the Mac you know respectable football um they have a solid experienced running game over there okay and first off I was surprised to see this was only 51 and a half um solid running game over there I really think Buffalo you know they're going to score 10 to 14 points I think and I think mou is going to score a lot of points too um so I think Buffalo will actually cover this game and I tell you what there's gonna be significantly less amount of people at this game than the first game you think so yeah all right and then they'll save it up for a Boston College suddenly the suddenly ferocious College NC State now we got we're looking ahead okay well that may be two games where we're going to have to play and get off the bus you know listen I just got a feeling Buffalo is going to cover that number because 52 and a half to 51 and a half give me the over I think Buffalo covers I will say this last year 2023 we had that in glorious not final score but contest for the most part in Colombia in which missou struggled for lengthy stretches against Middle Tennessee State it sounds Marty as if blers you're thinking okay we could be witnessing that sort of syndrome esque outcome here or at least the flow of Play It's perhaps a bit erratic it's a bit disjointed where I push back on that somewhat in this instance is I think that unlike last year what was really striking to me about that game and yes a 51 to nothing route at that against Murray State in stark contrast to last year drink WS more Etc they opened up the Playbook from the beginning everything was very very conservative until you got to the latter portion of the game the following week against Kansas state that was not the case last week now I'm not saying that Missouri was able able to display demonstrate all of its bells and whistles but the fact that Cook and company they were attacking downfield that one could have easily been into the 60s as far as margin of Victory and I love as well pay close attention this week the degree to which this team actually used the new transfer running back Nate noell who make no mistake about it he is now the number one with Carol coming in as the Bruiser not really a change of speed sort of back but Noel was split out wide on a number of occasions if you can get him the ball out in space as well well and continue to get tricky with a Luther burn and stuff there are a lot of different different quirks to this offense and I don't think that they are reluctant or reticent in any way to show not necessarily the house but a lot of the toys at their disposal so in that home environment I mean looking ahead with Boston College on the horizon there's no reason not for missou to really hit the accelerator and push with that momentum I I think it's blowout city here I really do well I I don't disagree on that other than you can't score if you're not on the field and then Buffalo if they could do the clock then it gives Missouri less chance to score I mean you know more of a math problem than a football kind of thing and I think that like I said M State played right into the hands of getting beat 51 to nothing so we'll see if Buffalo kind of follows that same game plan which I really don't think they will Marty makes an excellent point hey if you're gonna bring anything with you to a game like this experience running game is is the one thing you have you can have a great passing game you know but if everybody knows you're going to pass because you're losing then what difference does it make so it if they can not be getting blown out after the first quarter then we'll see where the game goes from there I do think Missouri is going to cover 70% full right oh you got Missouri cover okay so yeah I got on this one I do have Missouri cover in the 34 and a half I do have the over the 51.5 104 and and I do think there will be less people at the game this Saturday than than last y fair enough fair enough on the subject of potential offensive explosiveness the final featured game for us in week number two of the college football connection podcast and video presentation on the 101 ESPN YouTube channel as well as 101 espn.com let's dig into number 14 Tennessee boys nine and a half Point favorites not quite double digits traveling to the NC State wolf pack you're over under there 60 and a half points that is a 6:30 p.m kickoff in Tennessee Marty last weekend my goodness gracious I was monitoring this contest along with the misso procedings put one on in State Chattanooga ni can play in more ways than one whereas NC State for stretches of its contest didn't exactly look the greatest I am looking right now at this on paper and I'm thinking to myself guys I'm incredulous that this figure is just nine and a half I don't care if Rocky Top If the balls have to go on the road road with all of that Firepower there is going to be too much for the wolf pack to contain I'm picking Tennessee here with ease and because of just how much Tennessee itself is going to put up on the board andc State okay in garbage time maybe pushing that figure up it is tennessy in a landslide and Alvin give me the over over no doubt oh come on man the W pack rock me baby like a wagon wheel down and Ry come on now sing come on that's tooo many points n and a half down there yes stingy defense stingy defense tobacco roll on a Saturday oh no no no no no no no no no no give me give me tax give me substance here give me substance my interest in this game just got a lot more I'm telling you no North Carolina State hangs and this is what I'm talking about like okay now how much is that one paying off you do Mighty Line now I'm talking about probably by six to by one I'm telling you North Carolina State makes this a game it's going to be under that's one reason they're going to make it a game because Tennessee is not going to rip and run up and down the field North Carolina State I don't care what happened against you know at that place and North Carolina state has been playing some good football over the last three years in the fourth quarter last week otherwise right you know I understand I understand but you know I'm not holding against Michigan that Fran no had the ball out of seven points and deep in the second half touche right so um lot closer lot closer than that Tennessee does not blow out North Carolina State North Carolina State makes it a game just like you are confident that nine and a half isn't enough I'm confident that nine and a half is way too many I'm taking to uh North Carolina state to cover I am going with the under Marty was this not at seven and a half just a couple of days ago this line is ballooned I I I can't um listen this is a really tough one um Nico and that off defensive line they're going to score some points but at the same time that North Carolina State Defense did underachieve last week but coming into the year accolades Galore especially in the secondary um I think I'm staying away I'm staying away from the point spread in this game gentlemen I'm sorry this is I researched this a lot I I couldn't come to a conclusion how I wanted to roll here but I'll tell you what Alvin I'm with you I think it's the under all day in this contest all right I I do too I just think that I think this is just gonna be a little scrap yeah I don't have that much confidence in Tennessee being that Team all right yes Tennessee is a sec team I think Tennessee wins by the way yeah yeah me too okay all right but I don't see Tennessee as a sec power I mean if if Alabama played at North Carolina State I mean would they be any more than a nine and a half Point favorite yes but how much more that's what I'm saying oh you think they really yes at the top of the LSU before last week I mean I'm just you could be right you know I'm just saying that I'm not ready to right you know I'm not ready to cry on their asses you know that's a drop I'm I'm just saying that Tennessee all right all right Tennessee I will gladly come in here next week and along with your belated birthday and any other Refreshments that we may have in here I will EAD all of those items as well as the crow if Tennessee doesn't go off in this game Nico himself May ensure close to I'm not even kidding 40 plus for the volunteers in that environment here's why you mentioned the slightly reconfigured or different looking Personnel wise defense Marty okay NC State maybe some options there in the secondary lost your leading tackler now it didn't matter it didn't matter last week Nico isn't going to be able to shred this secondary especially a secondary that is missing boin because of the ACL injury you're going to be able to throw over the top and attack vertically all night long okay all night but they got a pass all right I you spy him so he does so he can't run okay all right maybe the chief should have tried that last night uh they're game a little bit but actually they did but that guy's pretty is pretty good right I I think they could keep Tennessee within striking districts the entire game defensively they're front four front seven really is pretty good yeah and and I think pretty good is good enough at home against Tennessee to keep you in the game against Tennessee we'll see we have a couple of Blitz picks as well to conclude week number two of the college football connections you will hear these each and every week we're going going to go in a pretty fast and a pretty Furious fashion beginning with yes 11 a.m. kickoff the Big 12 as we mentioned in the text chain getting a lot of love from us this week so let's look at the Oklahoma State poke matching up against Arkansas which scored on each and every Drive last week and put 70 on the board but the Hogs must travel there to Boon Pickins Oki State is favored by 10 in this contest the over under is 61 and a half 11 A.M kickoff Marty will Gundy Squad come out firing I do like Gundy Squad this year and you mentioned 59 and a half to 61 and a half I am going the under in this one um I think there's too much experience you know offensively for the pokes it's gone from 8 and a half to 10 okay I'm going to take them to cover and the under in Still Water Arkansas plays a decent football game Arkansas is an SEC team Oklahoma state has a tendency to drop one early they shouldn't have and drop one late that they shouldn't have this will be the one that's early I'm GNA take my 10 points I'm gonna I I'm I'm gonna take araw 10 double digits come on now aransa can hang within double digits I'm also going to play the under es Joe's baby yeah Oklahoma State wins you've been there yeah yeah been there twice yeah exactly one season ago Oklahoma State in week number two lost at home to South Alabama I'm not saying that that's going to happen here but I know from following them for many years Oklahoma State stubs their toe early they stub their toe late you say th as well Sor as well okay sorry brf there will be a stub in the sense that Arkansas is going to hang in this game for the vast majority of the action give me the Razer backs almost I'm almost pulling the trigger to have that team win outright but no Arkansas against the spread and that figure of 61 and a half goodness gracious goodness gracious I know that Arkansas put up 10 touchdowns in 10 total drives last week that was against Arkansas Pine Bluff but more of that physicality it is going to rear its head in week number two Razer backs looking decidedly better to begin 2024 so the picks locked in for that particular match up who's that offensive coordinator in arkans it's kind of shameful but you know your boy he's back he's back doesn't need that brace now does he all right let's talk about this dude again we have to Neon Dion what a way to finish this weekend Colorado traveling to Nebraska the Corn Huskers are favored by six and a half Atlas check over under in this interesting Affair gentlemen set at 55 and a half it will be a Prime Time game be for Coach Prime troops 55 and a half the Buffs actually have won three straight in this rivalry oldtime rivalry Big Time rivalry versus the Huskers last year it was a 36-4 final in Boulder but at that particular time Marty Nebraska didn't exactly have the individual who is now the signal caller are they calling him Patrick Mahomes Jr Mahomes little cousin little relative whatever in any event this true freshman is getting people excited on campus and I am excited to see what this Matt rule coached defense is able to do against Colorado because I'm telling you right now guys last week Colorado in so many different respects nearly flat out embarrassed itself versus North Dakota State rescued by Hunter and shador but when you have your longest Rush In the game is an 11 yards and I know Dion says it doesn't matter we're we're playing we're taking what the defense gives us this team can't run the ball you go to Lincoln Nebraska you can't run the football whatsoever I don't care what Hood does I don't care if Hunter eclipses 200 yards I don't care if shador throws for nearly 500 because if you can't move the chains and be able to beat Nebraska or match Nebraska at its own game somewhat you're not hanging in this tilt you also had a couple of uh head scratcher uh officiating calls exactly in that game too that you know could look at yeah they were they were basically that allowed Colorado to kind of run the clock out in that game ah I I'm I'm telling you this one was tough for me okay me too I know Matt rule is there but I looked at I I watched that Nebraska game last year Nebraska had no offense but yet Nebraska was actually in that game yeah really well into the third quarter like with with no offense and you know they they they're gonna have some offense all right but I just this is this is this is my water loop I think you're going with me this is MIL water neon come on man this is this is MIL water I think I I think Colorado's going to beat Nebraska I completely agree I said I think Colorado's gonna beat Nebraska so by which oh yeah I'm gonna take my six and a half points okay and I do believe it's GNA be an over I I I think like you said I think Colorado will score their points but I think Nebraska will score some points but I think Colorado goes into Lincoln and beats them in this game but I definitely definitely think that Colorado covers what's the recipe though how does that happen how is it strikingly different how do they clean up all of the issues along the offensive line how do they give Sanders anytime whatsoever he says good as they come with respect to improvisation but this is a different I think I think they just go playground I think he just runs around and throws the ball 100 pick apart that secondary I I don't think they'll by the by the second half I don't think Colorado will be even like calling plays I think they'll be that I think they'll be hike hike y'all go out I'll run around I'll find you we'll we'll keep scoring and Colorado won't be able to keep up with this doesn't work in the Big 10 this doesn't work in the Big 10 but it works in Nebraska you're talking about Nebraska now come on Hey listen this is one of those like he said what picks but I do think Colorado is gonna go there and he's gonna be sitting at two and0 again and they goingon to be 3 and0 they goingon to be four and0 and he's back year one was a fluke here we go the hype you know I think they go to Lincoln and I think they get the tight cheeks everybody everybody wants that hype shreen to continue I don't that's a good point I do cuz it's good for the game it's good for it's good for the game I don't like Deon style I don't like how he's coaching this college football team because he could not coach this college football team if you took two guys off that Team all right now there I'm sure there are a lot of coaches out there that might say like yeah well if you took two the right two off my team no you'd still have a team if you took them two guys off there Colorado wouldn't win a damn game all right and and Dion says be fired all right you know because keep in mind H 100 Place defense too so you take them two kids off the team Dion is the worst coach in America and he's probably fired at the end of this year so I'm not really enamored with this whole Colorado thing but I think what they've got now especially early in the year I think that they go up there and they and they win early in the Year's Key too yes and bottom line no matter what we're going to be watching that product we want to see what happens if it's a train wreck or if it is something that is substance more so than a mirage we are watching right and and I I'll say this too be playing physical football does not mean playing dirty football but I'm sure Matt rule you know has probably got across to his Huskers that if we knock this dude out the game they ain't got no he hey I ain't talking about Hunter I'm talking about shadur we knocked this dude out this game because they can't block us so when you get a shot on this cat yep clean shot Make It Count make it count all right Make It Count let's let's let's be Nebraska on a Saturday afternoon that would be part of the game plan but now whether they could pull that off and I'm not saying be dirty I'm just saying like man listen when you get him through the whistle get it through the whistle through the whistle yep excellent gentlemen shall we hope to knock out some victories for the three pack as well as our audience out there preliminary week over 500 it's a good thing can always be more of a crapshoot in that setting as you're trying to figure out different identities respective identities game Flow and whatnot
