former US president Donald Trump is facing a new indictment for his alleged attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 election Brian AEL joins us from the White House and Brian you are looking at what's different about this case and Melissa this new indictment is the same charges originally brought by special counsel Jack Smith before The Supreme Court appeared to gut his case this time however the new filing the former president will not face a jury before the election a new new indictment against former president Donald Trump with fewer than 70 days until the election special counsel Jack Smith again leveling charges of corruption and obstruction and conspiracies to defraud the government Smith reworking the original indictments after the Supreme Court's immunity ruling removing parts of it and attempting to style much of the remaining allegations is that of a candidate rather than a president acting in His official capacity to get around the issue at the center of the Court's ruling so I think this is basically Jack Smith saying I still got this right there's he's basically sanitized the original indictment a bit Trump taking to True social to rail against the revised January 6th related indictment calling it ridiculous while vice president kamla Harris and her running mate Minnesota Governor Tim Walls campaign in Battleground Georgia Trump in an interview with Dr Phil claiming without evidence that both Harris and President Joe Biden bear some responsibility for the assassination attempt against him I think to a certain extent it's Biden's fault and Harris's fault and I'm the opponent look they were weaponizing government against me they weren't too interested in my health and safety they were making it very difficult to have proper Staffing in terms of Secret Service the Biden Administration has said it supports full transparency and a complete investigation and in another high stake moment for this election the vice president will for the first time since becoming the nominee for Democrats sit down for an interview she will be joined by her running mate that interview will run on CNN at 9:00 tomorrow night Melissa and Brian there is a newly released video of former house Speaker Nancy Pelosi on January 6th what are we learning from it yeah this video was actually taken taken by Pelosi's daughter and gives us a look at January 6th through the speaker amit's eyes there is one moment where she shows her frustration for then president Trump take a listen there is a domestic enemy in the White House and let's not mince words about this so the raw unfiltered realtime reactions from Pelosi and at another Point she also says what he did to the capital and to the country today he's got to pay a price for that Melissa okay thank you Brian that's Brian AEL reporting from the White House
