in a hotel Ballroom just above the swimming pool a political Cannonball we will work together to uh assemble the best possible team a marriage that even 24 hours ago looked far from imminent with Falcon still making platform announcements is Now official but by doing this we are going to have the best opportunity possible to bring an end to these radical policies the pressure's been building for months but according to to both sides the deal only came together late Tuesday night and without the consent of BC United donors or even candidates I'm sorry that I couldn't bring them all into the fold but you can imagine that these are extremely sensitive discussions it means BC United's 50 plus nominated candidates will be withdrawn the party formerly known as the BC liberals off the ballot this October how many will move over to the conservatives for now no one's saying we plan to work together to look to go through a process uh Our intention is to feeli the best uh candidates we can but I've said I'll be the first to step aside if I'm asked to and I'm happy to do that support free enterprise and uh hopefully defeat the NDP hey it's David eie there's lots of news out there right now lots of rumors uh but no matter what our opponents do we're going to stay focused on what matters most to people the NDP very quick to pull up not so old comments from Falcon attacking rustad quote frankly I don't think there's any scenario in which John rustad would be remotely ready to step into the position of Premier and from a values point of view our group couldn't run with candidates that try to equate vaccines with Nazism and apartheid Etc all I will say is this uh that I appreciated John's willingness to recognize that let's agree on one thing and that is to field the best possible candidates in the next election former BC United supporter turned BC conservative Jordan baitman is thrilled free enterprisers like me should be popping champagne bottles because finally we are getting rid of the vote split bringing these two parties together and given us our best chance to beat David eie political friends turned enemies now Frenemies I said to John John I may only agree with about 75% of what you might uh believe in but I do know this that on his very worst day John rustad would be a far better Premier than David Eevee on his very best day a Monumental step in uniting BC's center right just don't call them BC United Jordan Armstrong Global News
