Rothstein 45 there's the top 10 look who's got it number nine yeah I I hope I'm not taking this tweet out of context but yeah he's got Arkansas at nine um it doesn't refer to to like recruiting or anything so it's I guess he's just talking about his actual this is his top 45 this is who he likes he's got Arkansas at n some would argue he might be a little low I think this is this is goodz there's a lot of folks I've seen uh who have quite a bit of influence who believe that Arkansas is not even a top 15 team I think I even saw one that has Arkansas completely out of the top 20 I mean they're crazy yeah they're nuts they're nuts how you don't have this roster with Cal at Bud Walton Arena I know La last year was last year and nothing is more true about the last season being the last season than basketball right basketball like one guy can completely flip your season and you saw what happened at Arkansas and what has happened at Arkansas when mus was here so yeah an incredible roster Arkansas according to John rosstein at Ninth I think that's pretty good I don't know enough about Gonzaga right now like I don't know enough about a few of these teams Alabama everyone's putting Alabama at the very top that doesn't surprise me at all I mean guys they're they're probably they probably if I had to pick my national champion it would probably be Alabama NATO I mean we could sit here and hate on the guy all we want you know we wouldn't have uh no one would have complained if Arkansas went from Eric muscleman to Nate Oats not I'm not saying that was ever going to happen but I think he's probably oats has got to be one of the top three top five college basketball coaches and he's listen Alabama's not known for for hoops just go look at their Wiki like they're not a that's not a basketball program and yet Nate oats is he's really turned that around and and yeah don't get me wrong it is thanks to the money the nil the portal pre portal Alabama I mean come on get out of here right not even on the same page as anybody on that list by the way anybody including Arkansas they're not even close but the portal era has been very nice to them it's helped bring Arkansas back with what mus was able to do there Alabama and Kansas are are one and everywhere uh are number one and two everywhere pretty much yeah KU yeah it's hard to it's hard to bump them out of the top three top four I I don't I mean I don't know to each their own right but I don't I don't have a problem with this Iowa State I don't know a ton about of course you know Yukon uh Duke being in Rock I think that is on the table if I understand this correctly they're done I think Arlington they're done that's not happening anymore guys the power is slowly returning to fville um we know Little Rock all about going down to going down to to Jones house I mean come on they're Pals where's where's he from right what part of the state is is Jones from what where are his connections we know why they're playing in in in the house that he built and God love him he's a Razer back right we want part of me kind of wants I know this is going to sound weird part of me doesn't mind if if if the Cowboys actually make a good run in the playoffs and they make a like a part of me it's like yeah he's a Razer back I want Jerry Jones it's not like he hasn't had enough success in his life right I mean you think about his riches and the money he's made and he's the Cowboys owner I get it we're all supposed to hate the Cowboys I I used to get really mad at the Cowboys I used to get pissed that they were always on TV when my Rams were better and they weren't playing the Rams but I get it you know now that I'm older you understand why that was um part of me is okay with him winning and being successful however I want all I want the power back in the hands of the of of the people in faille at the University of Arkansas I don't want people in Little Rock and Jerry Jones in Texas I I don't want them having this kind of this this hold on the Razer back football program not the Jerry Jones listen I think I think some of that is him like yeah why don't y'all play here I don't think it's him demanding that they play in that building he is a businessman after all and um you know I don't know the economics for him playing inside there I'm sure I mean obviously they're making something but it's time that the power comes back to fville get the hell out of Little Rock I know I know this is some of you hate me on this I've caught this is probably one of those offseason pillar conversations that used to get me a lot of I mean I've gotten one angry email over it in about I don't know half a dozen angry DMS over the years not a lot right six or seven angry DMS about the Little Rock situation it's time to get the hell out of there it's just it costs too much here here I just I kind of typed this out by the way Arkansas only plays in fville one time in their first five games that is unheard of anywhere else that's unheard of and it needs to that has to stop okay why well for obviously for you know I think you need to play where your freaking campus is you don't need to play down in Texas every single year in a place that you can't even host recruits right I do think they need to play in Texas but I think they need to go they need to go back it differently they need to play more opponents and and that's going to speak to their non-conference schedule moving forward right I think they're going to schedule you're going to see Texas Tech you're going to see obviously you got the home at home with A&M you're going to be down there to play the Longhorns um you're going to see some teams that you've played recently in the last 10 years I think they're going to go back down there I think we're going to start to see that uh here of course it's going to take a long ways down the road but anyways one game in in in in the first five games you're playing in fville that's stupid it costs money to play in Little Rock travel expenses hotel rooms food I mean you think about the equipment team having to haul all the the pads guys you're playing this supposed to be a home game and yet coaches have to treat it like a road game cannot treat recruiting visits like an OV now this year they found a loophole and they filed I guess with the SEC so that they could at least hand out tickets to prospects but normally you can't do that right you can't it can't it's not you can't treat it like an OV like an official like an official visit you can't do that uh I kind of wish the NCAA or whoever's in charge of that rule I think it's an NCAA rule wish they would kind of change it but I understand why it's there playing [ __ ] games there doesn't doesn't help matters expecting 35 to 40,000 people at a so-called home opener for an SEC team is a little embarrassing it's time to put an end to playing games down there make the state the Arkansas Arkansas State game The Last Game make it special call it the last time in Little Rock event whatever make a spectacle of it go nuts but it's time to put it to an end and and the push back I get is well we wouldn't have gotten DJ WIlliams we wouldn't have gotten Darren mcfaden which by the way is false uh we wouldn't have gotten all these guys down Central Arkansas listen you've let Central Arkansas guys slip through your fingers recently and you're playing games down there it's this isn't brand new right this isn't brand new that you're losing kids outside of Northwest Arkansas regardless of where you're playing that excuse just does not hold up it it wouldn't hold up even if you were getting them because how many schools do this how many schools shoot themselves in the foot when it comes to scheduling and scheduling games away from their campus how many teams are doing this I get having a neutral field event when it's a big game and all that and there's this large spectacle and it's you when you're ranked and you're playing another ranked top 10 whatever team I understand that I understand doing those once a year my God it's like this University and I I think it's probably bending over backwards to make people happy um that you know what really it it should be about the fans it should be about making the fans happy and I don't know how many people out of Central Arkansas South Arkansas down in the Delta I don't know how many of you guys either in Discord um DMS whatever have said even though for the ones I get that hate me for it I don't know how many I've had that are like we got to get out of there that place sucks you know it's in the hands of the state which you know it's just I mean once the government gets it you know I mean and I get that's a lot of places but when we play three meaningful games there were uh they were a better program it just it it has to do with the economics of it now it's more expensive than ever it it it's it's a recruiting disadvantage when you have all these things stacked up against you in in the meantime you've got the you've got the SEC expanding the conference they're not making it any easier adding A&M did not do Arkansas any favors obviously adding missou didn't do them any favors because they can't beat them um adding Oklahoma adding Texas I don't know if they're going to add any more I mean I think it feels wide receiver all right let's take a gander at Arkansas and uapb side by side looking at the numbers on offense and this is just not fair I mean you know it's it's uapb we're talking about here these guys were I mean you know they weren't good last year 15 points a game 15.2 points per game AR saw at almost 27 points a game now God you have to take that with just a huge grain of salt there U considering all the changes that Arkansas's had between your coordinator your personnel I mean it's it's like a whole new team and I well we'll get to the goal of what they need to do against uapb here in a second but total yards think about how bad Arkansas was at 326.50 that's not good that's these days that's horrible it's not a good number 326.50 yards per game is is not good you think back I mean there's so many games but you look at the Mississippi State game oh um they averag about 156 yards passing per game Arkansas was at 175 rushing they're at 135 talking about uapb Arkansas was at 139 third down percentage a year ago they're at 26% just north of it Arkansas was at 38% I mean again you you you want to be I mean obviously you'd love to be north of 50% right but I mean that's the that's the thing get closer and closer to 50% on that third down and that's where Bobby patrino I mean guys you feel like that's where that's where he makes his money on those third Downs you know fourth and one if that offense comes out on the field I wonder what are they about to do what's going to happen um third and short third and goal it's going to be different last year I mean again you see the numbers here 38% you're you're going south now further and further south of 50% where you'd like to be Aransas gave up 47 sacks because KJ Jefferson's not a dropback passer uapb gave up 36 Arkansas turned the ball over 18 times honestly I thought it was more than that I thought it was like 20 into the 20s defensively they're also pretty bad they're at 33 points per game giving up 450 yards per game of offense uh um passing they gave up over 250 yards rushing almost 200 yards a game they gave up third almost 42% on third down with 18 sacks just 14 takeaways Arkansas on defense here's where things got a little bit better for him if there was if there was any signs of life and you look at if you look at why Arkansas looked like for a while there like there might be a we might have something here despite racking up losses it was the defense Arkansas just 28 points a game in this day and age again the further south the 30 points a game you are the better total yards 357 passing they gave up 202 154 yards on the ground now their their run defense was pretty stout up until the end of the season uh third third down percentage they gave up 37% which actually is pretty decent number 29 total sacks there's a question does Arkansas have are they are they North or South the 29 sacks and 17 total takeaways um Christian cumins wants the Discord link oh hang on let me is small they're they're a small team they're itty bitty they're they're not they're not a big team and again this is kind of what you expect from a school like uapb right we're not talking about a group of five we're talking about a different division altogether their defensive line nobody again I think this is another case of no one being above 300 lb I thought they had one 300 pounder I could have to be fast and high Tempo and bubble screens try to utilize guys out in open space if they're right if they're saying that Arkansas's big and slow uh Deno Slaughter is not slow Jaylen Braxton is not known for having like Elite Speed but he's not slow Maris Robinson is pretty quick maybe you could say like Hudson who's 62 63 190 lbs yeah he's probably a high 46 guy sure but he makes up for it and and against a team like uapb they're going to have to deal with his with his knowledge his experience pretty good IQ guy especially when playing in zone coverage they're going to have to worry about Arkansas's offensive speed sounds like though they're going to huddle do you guys hear that they're going to huddle a little bit Arkansas is um wonder how many of their guys can run 20 miles an hour yeah Dan Tanner says I don't know why people think the second coming of Bob trino is something biblical uh he's good and all but I'll take more let's see but oh but it'll take more than one season to get it going I I don't disagree with that I mean I I don't I don't think I've been telling people I I don't believe that you're getting 2011 Bobby patrino walking through those door I don't think say after the season was over with and it talked about where Arkansas or where A&M improved and it was quite a bit on offense and a lot of that is due to Bobby patrino despite not being able to use his own language his own offensive identity essentially using Jimbo Fisher's identity using his offense using his his the way he he does things on offense was down to Jimbo and I believe that to be the case because it's Jimbo fiser we're talking about so this is going to be different in that this is this is his offense this is Bobby petrino's offense it's not Sam pitman's right it is 100% Bobby I say 100 right it's probably more like 90% because sure Sam you know third and short fourth and goal fourth and short what they're doing right before halftime end of game scenarios yeah of course you know that's going to be where Sam comes in he's got to be more effective he's got to be more effective in that role and that's been that's been one of my my criticisms of Sam is that he just doesn't know what to do some sometimes not all the time when it comes down to those final seconds yeah Dan I I don't disagree with what you're saying and again you need to have a a healthy scoop of of of critic skepticism that's fine but I do think that I do think that uh Bobby brings something to the table it's just going to be about how receptive how how much of what we saw through spring and fall Camp how much of that translates onto the field live action against somebody else uh if we don't trust oh no sorry if we don't just absolutely bully these guys at the line of scrimmage we'll know we aren't going bowling and that's a very that is my next point heartbroken took the words right out of my mouth if you don't control the line of scrimmage against uapb guys we saw signs last year early on we saw something was up this offensive line the offense something it felt very Chad Morris like and that's so weird to say you know and and there's some things at the time you don't think about until the season's over with you go back you rewatch some stuff you watch you know what footage you have left over from last year and not very much but uh just like from practice and whatnot you try to you try to spot the differences that's really hard to do considering they don't give the media they don't give us much time um but we saw signs early on in the season and it's to for me it started they're not as athletic they're not a P5 they're not even in the same division this is this is uapb right you only have the only thing you have to gain is just coming out of this thing healthy you be on ABC Oklahoma state has a habit of losing these early season games however they have arguably well first off I like Gundy there's not another coach that does more with less you know if you look at their 247 team rankings they're barely top 50 like in terms of Talent on their roster but there's no one that does more with less I think it helps that they're in the Big 12 and you guys know how I feel about the Big 12 I think it's just a I I don't consider it like to me there's really it's the big two SEC and the Big 10 but I would probably say the ACC maybe just in front of the Big 12 just enough to where it knocks the Big 12 out of the conversation I don't think it's a big conference in terms of like not not what do I want to say like in terms of like the power teams right and they're going to benefit from that this year and I think they are they are absolutely a potential playoff contender but they do have a habit of losing games early let's not forget they lost to South Alabama 33 to7 that was week three now they had kind of a situation going on at quarterback if I recall there early on in the year they started off the year 2-0 they beat UCA 27-3 they beat Arizona State 27- 15 and then they lost back-to-back games they went on the road after losing to South Alabama and they lost to Iowa State and all of a sudden the conversation was does Oklahoma State win but maybe two more games this year here because after that they had Kansas state number 23 Kansas at West Virginia which can be tricky Cincinnati which I mean you know whatever uh Oklahoma who was number nine at the time at UCF Houston at Houston BYU and then Texas they only lost two more games they lost to UCF they got they got destroyed by UCF 45 to3 I don't know what the hell happened there but and then they they got kind of curb stomped by Texas too who was number seven at the time 49 to 21 they won their bowl game but who cares if it's not a playoff game I'm sorry I just you have to look at the opt outs that's what you have to look at if if one if you lose as many starters as as some of these teams have lost over the years because of these opt outs who cares it is so hard to take bowl games seriously anymore unless it's a playoff game don't get me wrong it's awesome that Arkansas's 2 and0 in bowl games under Pitman but it it's just uh yeah they did win without trayon Burks you got to give him a lot of credit for that at the very last Outback ball so Oklahoma State this year again they've got a lot of experience back uh the only new guy last I had seen according to a couple different places our Lads and preseason magazines Tyler Foster fifth year senior at tight end is one of the newbies AJ Green who's out I think he's out for the year we all remember him sucks for him man that's too bad and then um glass w a left tackle a junior transfer at left tackle who um who's going to be I think he's going to be behind Dalton Cooper over at left tackle the the the man of of of the year in the Big 12 is probably Oly Gordon unbelievable running back really good player I think he could rip Arkansas a new one I mean he is that level of good 1700 yards 1700 yards right uh just on the ground very very potent player they brought in just uh let's see Port transfer portal they only brought in eight players couple of pretty decent players of course we already know AJ Green not he's he's out for the year it sounds like um Tyler Foster tight end Dwayne Lofton at wide receiver from Virginia Tech they added some interesting pieces but not a lot they got a lot of experience back on both sides of the ball this is going to be a very good Oklahoma State team I don't think they're going to let too many people sneak up on them however I think Arkansas I right now I would take Arkansas to win this game and it's a lot of different reasons mostly because if you're Oklahoma State and this is why this uapb game is so important you you have to dominate the line of scrimmage for this very reason you cannot show anything and you think about it patrino you don't know what you gonna study A&M film what are you gonna study Missouri State this a different he changes with the Personnel that he has that's one thing that he gets credit for you look at what he did at Louisville his second go around or even his first go around he he will adapt to what he has he's extremely good in these types of games when when you're talking about Arkansas's back up against the wall needing to win I think he could I think for that reason he's going to be un he's going to be unpredictable third and fourth Downs watch out right I'm saying all this Arkansas could actually take a step back on third Downs I don't know it's all going to come down to offensive line quarterback play it's going to come to receivers catching balls getting open which was not a strength of this receiving core a year ago but all these things matter against uapb maybe even more so you've already get that weekend to sit back and watch and to sit back and get ready for Oklahoma State you have a better Arkansas is going to have a better feel for what Oklahoma state does than Oklahoma state does for Arkansas you don't think that back in the spring they were doing install on Oklahoma State I don't care what Sam says I don't care what Bobby or the players say I think in film room they were absolutely bringing up Oklahoma State film to some degree and probably told to keep it in house I believe that 110% come on it's Bobby patrino of course he is right it just feels like duh come on dude you've got this new quarterback you're in a new offense new system with a coach whose ass is so hang on he s his seat is so hot that almost went the opposite direction there his seat is so hot yeah they're they're getting ready for Oklahoma State I feel like they're install that's part of the reason why the media is not there tell me I mean come on do the math it's real simple media is not allowed there I do think we're going to see some some trick plays we've kind of had that confirmed by somebody in our Discord but we'll keep it at that um yeah I think Arkansas can win this game and in fact I'm stamping down as a W for the Arkansas Razer backs I I could listen this all could be you know whatever Aransas could go down there and get blown out Oklahoma state is a good football team but they they do have a tendency to lose some bizarre games maybe this is one of those however I don't know that many teams are going to sneak up on these guys Gundy is is loaded they do have some pretty good quality depth now again when you look at their actual talent on the on the roster it's not great again I think they're barely in the top 50 but I think Arkansas finds a way and they get this dub so you're two and 0 you got uh UAB after that the the Blazers Blazer you guys remember dodgeball taser uh yeah obviously I mean this is Arkansas should win this game I don't I don't think I don't think they're going to sneak up on anybody given the recent history for Arkansas football you just never know I always say it is what it is you know we're just kind of having fun with it who really knows but I believe right now as of this moment even though they've got a lot of experience back on the offense they do um they won a grand total of four games a year ago but that doesn't mean anything right their quarterback did throw for over 3,000 yards a year ago Jacob Zeno uh but yeah I should start off three and0 Auburn I think is an L I just I think Hugh free is just a better Coach I'll just say it I just think he's he's got Sam's number he's out coached him at two different jobs now um I just don't I don't like if this were in fville or even Lok for that matter I would I would probably lean towards Arkansas a little bit UA I don't know Auburn you know freeze didn't get off to the kind of start that I think that he wanted down there six and seven record overall uh I I just I don't know man I think he knows it he needs to have a boom type year and and maybe this is it for them I mean it is Auburn we know they're going to Talent on the roster and you got to play at their house they did win they started off the year in pretty good shape however they barely beat Cal 14-10 they started off three and0 and then they went on a losing streak losing to A&M Georgia LSU and Old Miss all were ranked except A&M at the time then they turn around they win three straight uh but no real high quality wins Mississippi State they they won 27-3 vanderbelt they won 31 to 15 and they smoked Arkansas 48 to10 I just don't I just think Hugh frieza's got Sam's number it's one of those it is it's one of those you know I just think he's got Sam's number so that's three in one A&M this is another I have no idea game it's a coin flip because of all the newness at A&M lot of movement in their depth when you talk about out of the portal I don't know how many guys are expecting out of the portal toh contribute just depthwise on offense on defense it's a lot which is good and listen I'm a I like Mike Elco I think that would have been a good hire for anybody um sometimes it does matter I mean you look at what's going on at Florida right now and you think about that scenario but you know he's going from duke to A&M not Louisiana to Florida so I like him a lot he's got a 16-9 overall record he is one and0 in bowl games he did a really good job in a short time at Duke I think we are kind of you know and he have history at A&M he did Coach there once before coordinator and he coached the the the uh secondary I I I think Arkansas gets this one you know they always it just feels like one of those kind of years I know we've said that before I think Arkansas gets A&M so again now we're at one two three four and one Tennessee I think Tennessee wins uh I think LSU wins I think those two are I think LSU might be a coin flip game I don't know about Tennessee yet it's just they're another hard team to gauge Mississippi State I know it's there but I I still like Arkansas here I like Arkansas wins at Mississippi State probably going to be a dramatic game I like what Mississippi state's doing um I I I like what they're doing over there with that offense with with Jeff lebby you know and he's young he's younger than I am he's 40 he's a young upand cominging coach I just kind of wonder if it's maybe this should have been a job he waited for for maybe another three or four years but you got coaches in their late 30s I mean my God sea McVey in the NFL with my rams look how young he was and he won a Super Bowl so who knows right I like Jeff leby I like him a lot we know that offense we know what he likes to do he's got quite the history this could be an interesting game that could be an interesting hire for them but I like Arkansas there Old Miss I see as a loss guys Old Miss might I'm not kidding when I say this now I hope this blows up in my face because I hate watching oh miss be so good but this feels like Arkansas 2011 it has that same feeling for for Miss that's a playoff Contender team as is you know maybe we'll have to wait and see on LSU right we know they have the talent to get there uh with the Playoffs being expanded um Texas it's going to be a loss I don't think it'll be a blowout but I I do think it'll be a loss and then Louisiana Tech will be your last win of the year I think they beat Louisiana Tech uh could be an interesting game for a little bit what I could find on lis an Tech and what I could watch but they were bad they've won a grand total of six games the last two years they're not very good um obviously right so Louisiana Tech rough they kind of fought in some of these games I watched their a little bit of their North Texas game they fought they they only lost by three they went to Nebraska and lost 28 to4 utap on the road they won 24 to 10 then they just lost everything um getting blown out in some of the as well I Arkansas should take care of business against their noncon so I've got them going undefeated in their noncon with SEC victories over A&M and Mississippi State now again there's coin flips here there's coin flips LSU is a coin flip Tennessee to me is a coin flip yeah because they're in fville sure it's a coin flip Auburn I don't know man I I I just I don't know Hugh freeze just has his number but that doesn't mean anything anymore though right because there is is such a thing is just having a guy's number out coaching him and then it's like the actual finished product on the field matters and if Arkansas if ton green is everything some of you guys tell me he's the next Ryan Mallet in terms of production or Matt Jones in terms of what he can do with his feet you know four he could be a 44 guy I don't know Matt of course 437 at 66242 pounds at the NFL combine just saying but um I I don't know if he's that fast but he can move however if you do a little bit of research on Boise State and what happened they were not happy with him last year he struggled mightily with ball placement he struggled being able to move the offense there was a time when he went down with cramps and the backup quarterback steps in takes care of business where he struggled uh his PFF numbers guys they're awful they're worse than KJ's however and I've said this before the difference here is having a full off season with the offense going back to Spring and with Bobby patrino is that enough to to move him over right getting guys out in open spaces and and allowing the offense and allowing what you're doing on offense to get these guys open out in open field make plays be dangerous yards after catch that sort of stuff Crossing routes hello it's Bobby patrino right jerius right Joe Adams I'm looking at those two they excelled this receiver room is talented so maybe they can help maybe they can help green out however we thought the receiver room last year was really good and guys their ability to create separation to get open wasn't there the offense was not in sync yes we know who's at fault for that and he's not here anymore he can't hurt you but uh you got a new coordinator and a new system so we'll have to wait and see but I think I feel like they they're good enough to get to six and it might take some luck and hell it might even be losing to the two teams it might it might you might lose to Oklahoma State and then finding other wins in the SEC you know trying to F tune as you go and yeah this offense is complicated it is it's not an offense you pick up in just a single year that's something you have to consider oh boy what does that mean right so and I stand by what I said I stand by what every single guest I had on last week said if he only wins five he's gone I just there's there's no I mean guys I've not talked to a single media member who believes he keeps his job um Mason Cho did for a while and I guess he got bullied into into putting him at he's got to win six at least it's it's a um it is do or die and he knows that that's why we're not there that's why the media the mouthpiece for fans right or the eyeballs for fans they're not allowed there they don't want anything getting out and I get it and I think too they want to control the narrative a little bit inhouse it's a lot easier to do when the media is not there but I get
