will come in to challenge for that left back position who will come in to join Greg Taylor making him not the only life back at the club well surprise surprise we got that information tonight Celtic video so excuse the rushed presentation I wasn't expecting to do this tonight I'm already an hour late to the dance and making this so let's do it Celtic transfer talk time we have our left back yes it's pretty much confirmed that Celtic will be signing Barcelona youngster Alex Valley this week on a loan transfer the left back will come from Barcelona to add a sufficient amount of depth to the position this one has come out of nowhere it's a name I've not heard linked with Celtic before but they've found him they've identified him and the youngster will come in this story broke earlier tonight courtesy of Mundo deportivo in Spain the headlines saying that Alex valy has renewed his contract with Barcelona and in doing so will go on loan to Celtic Glasgow he's extended his contract for one season and is going to play in the Scottish League Gabriel Sans of the Barcelona uh based Outlet said that Barcelona have worked on the exit of Alex Valley the left back who returned from a season loan at lebante has negotiated his renewal and is going on loan to Celtic Glasgow in order to leave on loan the club has extended his contract which was due to end in June 2025 for one more season until 2026 the Scottish club will pay the entire fee which around which amounts to and5 million e h there's a bit more information in this you can go on and read I'm going to try and make it as easy for you to understand in this video but it looks as though Celtic have got their man in case you needed any more proof about this Fabricio Romano the big man himself also reported on the transfer Alex Bal signs a new deal with Barcelona until June 2026 and he set to join Celtic on loan Vel agreement reached Advanced stages Celtic are checking all documents to get it signed early next week so according to Fabricio Romano balet could become a Celtic player as early as Monday or Tuesday but I'm expecting this one to maybe be finalized uh as the days go on maybe closer to that deadline on Friday so a a big signing some big news that came from nowhere for somebody I've never actually watched before it's given me very little time to reset the player I don't even know if his name is pronounced valy or Val yet I have no idea might not even be any of those two yet to make a senior appearance for the Barcelona side he is a product of the Barcelona Youth Academy and has played for of course the B team and recent years but as mentioned a moment ago he spent last season on Loan in the spa Spanish second division with s lebante uh where he was okay he done well 29 appearances from the left back position and clearly somebody coming through that Barcelona Youth Academy valued with a decent enough potential and hopefully something that the Celtics scouting Network have identified as potential that's good enough for us it's a huge step and I'm not going to sit and rant and Rave about someone who's coming from Barcelona just because they're coming from Barcelona he's taken a huge step here and in coming from the Spanish second division to now be playing in Europe you know is he going to be better than Greg Taylor I can't make that assumption yet is he going to start ahead of Taylor once again I can't make that assumption yet but if you do go off those assumptions and if you do expect him to come in and do that then this is a huge jump as I said from the the second tier of Spanish football to then starting in Champions League football um so yeah it's it's a big bit pressure for him to deal with I'm sure this is a huge opportunity for him someone who was probably set to exit Barcelona at the end of the season I don't know how many clbs were maybe circling around his name but he will be Celtic for the coming year and Celtic do have a really good chance of signing him if he impresses this is the part of the deal that I want to try and break down and make as simple as possible so this is quite simply a try before you buy type deal this is a good opportunity for Celtic to evaluate the youngster he's only 20 years of age let's throw that part in right now there's a good chance for Celtic to evaluate him see if he's good enough and then has an opportunity to sign him for a pretty good fee come the end of the loan deal should he you know please us should he impress now let me get this clear though it's not an option or obligation to buy to make it very very clear this is a straight loan deal he'll return to Barcelona at the end of the season however there is a minimum fee release Clause included in Alex bal's contract that is stated within the article uh from Mundo deportivo who made it clear that there is a €3 million EUR release cost CA in his contract which means Celtic can trigger that at any time in the last two years of his Barcelona contract to make him a permanent player however it also means that other clubs can trigger that release Clause as well if he performs here and is and goes and plays really really well you know teams in England might catch wind they can trigger that 3 million P Rangers across the road hypothetically could trigger that3 million who am I kidding and anyway this is a a release Clause that can be triggered by any club in this new contract of his however I would like to assume that if things do go well with Alex Valley here at Celtic and he does perform and he becomes our first choice left back um I'm hoping that they strike up a good relationship the the squad and him Rogers and him of course Rogers and his fluent Spanish and hopefully if it things do go well there's a handshake there's a gentleman's agreement that if teams do come circling he prioritizes the moved to Celtic um so it's all about just waiting to see what happens God we don't know when he'll play his first game for the club yet but it does look as though he's signing there is a possibility we can sign him for as little as3 million EUR uh next season um so yeah it's all pretty smart business but is he good enough we'll wait and see he did feature for Barcelona on a number of occasions throughout preseason Hy flick of course the new Barcelona manager he did get time under him in preseason but obviously not the standard required yet to be playing for you know one of the biggest clubs in the world uh so a good loan move for him to to develop but a good chance for Celtic to sign him if uh they they choose to this time next year so we have our left back you know what the the script is tonight research to be done videos to be watched reading to be done uh I'm going to try and find out as much as I can about the player to talk about him some more on the channel tomorrow but it looks as though we have our left back it's very aply timed from Celtic following Brendan Rogers comments earlier following wiet and Marin Park earlier Brendon Rogers was asked about the transfer window asked about the deadline that looms Friday evening of course um and he was very optimistic as he has been all window um but he said along the lines of we will have improved the squad come Friday we will have players through the door and he was speaking in the the plural sense as well he wasn't talking about a player coming through the door he is expecting players he's expecting plural um so you can obviously assume one of them will be Alex valy of of Barcelona he'll be one uh you can also maybe assume that M bogus we'll talk about him in a minute could be another hopefully on the angles is one maybe Austin trusty as well if Celtic can lock down a left back a center back and these midfielders that we're talking about before the end of the window uh we could be ending very very strong uh and and we can put all those reservations and doubts behind this we have left it late we have got to a point where we're sort of rushing our business but um you know there's there's there's really good potential for it to end being a good window so we'll just need to wait and see how the next few days go um let's talk about mat bogus very very quickly so yeah uh we've got a a big bit of news to talk about mat bogus Sky Sports have reported we need to wait till Monday to reopen those negotiations with lafc he is due to play tonight or he's due to be involved tonight to some extent apparently which kind of puts all those rumors to bed about the private jet to Glasgow um as they play in an important leagues Cup match so uh Monday negotiations will reopen for Matias Bas so there's no guarantee he'll be here eminently but still remains positive and still looks as he could be a CTIC player should we you know cooperate with
