Let's Discuss Justin Fields, Mac Jones and Trey Lance

what's up guys welcome to the stat free sports channel here today to bring you a video discussing the Futures and the rumors surrounding three young quarterbacks Trey Lance Justin fields and M Jones and I also be answering towards the end of the video which quarterback I would rather trade for this off season let's get right into it guys so I put out a poll on my Community page just yesterday uh same title that's in the thumbnail which quarterback what I trade for same three guys Trey Lance M Jones Justin fields and uh you know I was going to do a video I am which I'm doing now doing a video on which one I would trade for but I but I found something interesting just taking notes and looking at know just stepping back after taking notes and looking at all three guys and where they're at and where they could be I found it pretty interesting so um let's start with the big name guy the more popular name that's Justin Fields I kind of feel bad and feel nervous for Fields he he's the one one I consider the biggest boom or bust player out of these three guys especially right now in 2024 because you look at Fields situation he's in a tough spot you know um Fields kind of has to start in 2024 you know the other two don't Lance and M Jones don't have to start and probably won't start in 2024 but Fields kind of has a start you know and he only has in my opinion four spots at where he can start right now and that's the Falcons that's uh my Falcons that's the Steelers that's the Raiders and that's the Vikings and to be honest I only like one of those spots for him honestly and that's the Vikings my Falcons I say no obviously we're going to get we're trying to get Kurt Cousins or Russell Wilson first um the Steelers it doesn't make sense it never did in my opinion you're going to bring him in to ballot out with another young struggling quarterback can he pick it makes no sense um and the Raiders they already hired Luke gatsy the OC for the for the former OC for the Bears this past season and the rumor is he's been saying that he has he couldn't use his full Playbook because the limitations of Justin Fields as as a passer reading defenses and stuff like that so why would he want him back in with him in Vegas it makes no sense if that's the case you know it could be wrong the rumors could be false K be spreading bad stuff about it but uh that's what's been said as far as the rumor meal goes about gsy and Fields relationship and uh the Vikings makes sense um Kevin McConnell has a very good quarterback friendly scheme but at the same time why not just go go with go with a rookie you have more control over you know because if Fields does work out with the Vikings you're going to have to pay him about like a year or two you know you have Jordan adon's contract coming up well not not soon but down the line hackinson uh trying to make the team team better overall you can't do that with having to pay fields in like another year year and a half so that to me doesn't really make sense um so it's kind of really tough to see him go anywhere else and be a starter but that could be the best case scenario for him but how would how would people view that if Fields doesn't start you know and that's the thing everyone in everyone's been saying he's going to be starting 2024 just where but that might not be the case and how would that look for Fields If he if he's in Seattle behind Gino if he's in New York behind Daniel Jones you know it's kind of tough um we looking at the other two guys you have Trey Lance and M Jones Two Guys well one who was picked before uh Justin Fields that's being Trey Lance but I like I personally like what Tre Lance is you know he's a guy he's the most unknown out of out of the three guys right now uh did lose his job to Brock P he he couldn't beat out a seventh rounder but that that doesn't really mean much to me honestly you know Brock P has been balling obviously uh he's a top 15 top 18 quarterback in today's NFL he's above average so I'm not mad at that um but I think Tre Lance as far as I don't know I'm not in the league but as a fan just sitting back looking at it it seemed like Lance is still in a good he's in good standing with the league the league still think he's has something there he's a prospect so that's good for him you know and the rumor is now uh the Vikings could pursue him and to me that makes sense you know um he's someone that you don't really know much about yet because the injuries and then like I said Brock P kind of ruin his time in San Francisco uh but you know you still have the contract thing with him just like just like Fields um you know but you could maybe offer Lance less because the injuries and all his history I mentioned already so if Lance does play decent in 2024 you know you might not have to resign him right away franchise tag and come and stuff like that down the line um rather with Fields you might have to pay him an extension uh pretty sooner um then you go to a guy like M Jones who I think is in a is in a tough spot as well but I think he has more Landing spots more logical Landing spots because uh he doesn't have to be a starter you know I I really love the fit of Mac Jones behind Stafford with with the Rams I love M Jones with the ners I love ma Jones in a lot of places where he can back up sit back chill learn the game build confidence you know and M Jones honestly had the best success out of all three guys so far being a being being a pro bowler his rookie season their rookie year M Jones was a pro bowler he was looking like one of the better ones from this class you know and then it end up uh you know the LA the next two years being a disaster with with with with the Patriots which is crazy you know going from a rookie year pro bowler to now you're know fighting to be a backup somewhere and uh you know that's that's the thing that's kind of wild but that's how NFL goes but I think M Jones just need a year he needs a baker Mayfield type year you know to go behind a older veteran quarterback um and sit behind him like no like Stafford he's the perfect guy because Stafford gets banged up so Stafford gets injured Stafford get get hurt which he normally does every year normally you know I was nothing bad on him but that's how it normally works works with him he miss a game or two you bring in M Jones to play with Cooper cup to play with uh PUK Kua play with Tyler hiby uh hick to play with kyn Williams he could look good in that scheme especially in Sean McVey has a quarterback friendly uh scheme as well you put him in that scheme M Jones wins you two games and plays well he could parlay that into a bridge quarterback spot next year just like Baker well not next year but 2025 and then that could pursue him to be like Baker and get a long-term deal somewhere else you know so that that could make M Jones hot again same for Trey Lance but for Justin Fields if he does start you know he has to play well no ifans of us about it you know cuz he hasn't been a backup yet where M Jones has been benched and all that stuff uh Trey Lance has been not not benched but been traded and benched behind Dak Prescott but Fields hasn't really had that yet so um it'll be and it's also different D different D dynamic because Fields has the most star potential but with that being the same case you know with that being the case does some teams think Fields can't be a backup and I say that because I kind of feel the same I felt the same way about Cam Newton though Cam Newton obviously more accomplished than feels is where he is now but cam was an alpha dog you know and cam doesn't really have the personality the Persona to be a backup bench number two guy he's more of a starter material if he's not a starter he's not in the league and that's how I feel about Fields kind of sort of like he's more of a alpha dog he's more of an of a bigname guy and if you bench him behind your starter you know you're going to hear felds name being chanted FS name know FS name and a lot of the social media know fans and uh mentions and oh let's bring fields in let's give Fields a try that's something teams don't want because that's just too much of a distraction you know and I felt the same way about C other guys in the past as far as quarterbacks go like said cam one one of the bigger names because cam brings the energy that like he had to start or else and Fields isn't cam don't get me don't get it twisted but Fields definitely has like a superstar potential about him that if he's a backup somewhere and the quarterback starts a little starts a little bit of struggling a little bit of you know a bad stretch of plays Fields name could be starting to chant throughout the throughout the stadium and that could bring you know a good thing because people want to see fields and stuff but at the same time that messes up chemistry that messes up team you know camaraderie all that stuff and also you know Fields need time to learn so field does go if Fields do go to the Giants somewhere like that takes a spot for Daniel Jones and he's not quite ready yet or not used to the Brian De ball scheme yet or something then he's in trouble still so um he's in a tough spot you know he has to either be a starter or you know be a bench player that's probably go to a situation where he G to start regardless sometime during the season because I don't think if Phils is behind Gino I think Gino loses that that job eventually if feels is behind Daniel Jones same I think he loses job of eventually both quarterbacks aren't really that that consistent Daniel Jones and Gino and uh you know for for me personally I just think Fields is so much of an alpha so much of dynamic player that he's going to have to start wherever he he he goes eventually during the 2024 season now on to which player would I trade for me personally I would go for M Jones he's the one I want I would want the most uh feels more athletic feels more talented but M Jones doesn't have the problem in my opinion that Fields does that's read reading the field reading defenses I think M Jones has that more more down pack and just you know the confidence issue for for me was the biggest thing and he made mistakes too it's not all on the conference and not all on Bill b check M Jones made some boneheaded moves fumbles a lot of bad picks I understand that but giving a better system giving a better scheme giving more around him I think M Jones could be good could be better and uh Justin fields to me has yet to show me he's really really good in the fourth quarter and he's really really good at reading defenses for a consistent stretch and that's the thing that really concerns me about Fields Trey Lance like I said he's never gonna be on my list because he's so unknown we have no clue what we have with him you know and uh he's just someone that you know you just can't you either have a trade form or just it's just a big guess and that's the thing that really concerns me with trade lands you know could be talented could not be know could not have it figured out could have figured out we don't know what he has going on yet until he actually get gets a chance so I would love to see Lance traded somewhere and start right away like as I said if Minnesota get some that'll be nice Raiders give him a try that' be nice but I don't know how realistic it is that a team wants Lance to start right away this season you know um that's kind of a a tough sale for some fans maybe could they might rather just go hey second round pick pennick second round pick bck second third round pick Spencer Rattler and just try it out there with someone you have more leeway with someone you have more contract time with uh Lance as I said same with Phil same with M Jones if you keep them they're do an extension and if they play well they do an extension Dan there right away where you know you go in rookie route you're going to have to wait another three four or five years depending on what round you end up getting them so um so yeah I will go with M Jones I think he's the most overall complete quarterback out of all three Fields being a close second and then Trey lance being way way down uh in a far away three but that's how I see it guys let me know in the comment section how you about it but that's
