[Music] before we get to your questions a question I have for you what do you guys like more CFB is for college football NFL is for professional football the National Football League get your answers in for me in the comment section of today's show CFB or NFL from niffle highlights where do you think DTR ends up that's Dorian Thompson Robinson uh the Browns apparently listening to trade offers for him sometimes I wonder if that was a you know it comes out of the Browns organization in an effort to get interest in Dorian Thompson Robinson one TEAM stands out to me and maybe they don't feel this way about about their own quarterback room he's a back of a best right the Green Bay Packers quarterback room is bad guys even just check out that last Packers game I don't know if they win a single game without Jordan love like like Sean Clifford is not good Michael Pratt didn't look very good either so I would Green Bay does maybe it's not the perfect fit but that was the first name that came to mind for me Trent Lawson as a Steelers fan should I be concerned about the offense the the answer has a butt it is still yes the butt is it'll probably be better than what it was last year still um I think the ground game particularly better Arthur Smith is an upgrade over over Matt Canada either Russell Wilson or Justin field is an upgrade Over Kenny picket that doesn't mean it's where the offense needs to be um I still wonder if you're better off just saying screw it let's play Justin Fields because the strengths and weaknesses kind of overlap a little bit and the the the you know the weaknesses of both guys hold the ball too long well wouldn't you rather have the younger one who's more athletic and can do more stuff there I kind of get to we'll see both those guys this year I also know this about Pittsburgh Steelers despite the offensive concern they're going to win at least nine games that's all that team does under Mike Tomlin it's kind of incredible how they consistently find ways to overcome their problems but specifically for the offense yeah I ain't it'll be better but that doesn't mean it's going to be where you want it or need it to be from Smithers why do the Falcons not play Michael penck how does this rookie quarterback last look I'll go in reverse order here actually I'll go with I'll go with penck for that probably makes more sense I don't know um frankly I thought that was dumb they're kind of treating Michael penx as if he's the starter already which is weird because here's what I don't want for penx Kurt Cousins plays every game this year uh he either plays out year two of his contract as well but like there's a scenario that exists where if they keep up this trend Michael pennick to two years from now gets to be the starter for the Atlanta Falcons and we're talking about him not playing more than two preseason games in two years that's a scenario that exists like penx is a young player you don't want to play him in the third game fine the first game the cool second game I I I would play him too you want to shop piki fine I don't think that that seventh round pick you might get for Taylor haniki is going to outweigh the value of getting your young QB some reps uh as for the rookie quarterback class I think whatever team you're a fan of maybe Minnesota feels a little bit bad after the injury there's a reason to be excited about all these guys Drake man looked really good in the second preseason game kale Williams has made those flashy plays Jaden danels has flashed I think B Knicks for what the Broncos are asking of him has done some nice stuff as well so the Young The Young QB class excitement you should all those fan bases drink your Kool-Aid is what I'm saying who will be the best rookie QB though CW for Caleb Williams D M for Drake May J D for Jaden Daniels or BN for bonus this is specifically for 2024 that's why I limited to to just the available guys Ethan Harrington rookie receiver with the most upside after uh other than uh Marvin Harrison and Malik neighbors um if you mean like real life it's Rome adun I I I think he is going to be a really good football play he's a top five player for me in this class no reason to change that fantasy-wise you you can talk me to Someone Like A Brian Thomas Jr or lad mcon over Rome cuz someone's got to catch passes from Trevor Lawrence and someone's got to catch passes in that Chargers offense so real life Rome beyond that you can talk talk me into a couple different guys in fantasy football Anthony buers the eagles need a legitimate number three receipt option at receiver and do you think Amari Cooper is a real trade option as for Amari no the the Browns were only going to trade him if they could get Brandon auk that's off the table it's not going to happen and like sure I think it'd be nice to have a better number three option in Philadelphia I I think to an extent I'm not saying this is the case but if you're freaking out over who is our number three receiver when you have AJ Brown Devon Smith Dallas scard and saquon Barkley That's either that something really bad about your offense I don't think is the case or we're just a little bit too caught up on who's going to be the fifth touch guy like yeah be great to have somebody better than Paris Campbell or Johnny Wilson or whatever but guy's not as important as like you know a wide receiver three option on a team that doesn't have a good running game or a good tight end Anthony buers should the Eagles have moved on from Nick serani and was he responsible from the Eagles Eagles collapse in the end the buck stops with the head coach and if I think if you were to pull most Eagles fans who do you play the most for the claps serani I am fine to give him one more year you don't have to be as quick triggered but there are no more scapegoats there is a new offensive coordinator and the new defensive coordinator so it is if they collapse again he might be gone you know I I I am a little bit worried that the the uh I don't know manic energy from serani uh it's great when they're winning but you know it's a bad look if you're talking trash to fans and you're losing okay who you think ends up getting moved from NC show with the judon trade what do you think the Jets will uh do with the re with reic even though they've said they won't trade him I think they won't trade him I think at a certain point this is a we have to stand our ground thing um not a like oh we're gonna freaking do whatever we can there I missing game checks is a lot to miss out on I'd be a little surprised if that didn't happen somebody's going to Blink as we get closer and closer to week one of the NFL regular season I don't know who ends up blinking first but somebody's going to so I'm very hey Tennessee's rebuilding but I think I think they're on the right path I'm gonna go with Houston um I think that'll be a very competitive division though afc's got a lot lot of good young talent and too obvious for me uh I'm not going to sleep on the Dolphins I think people are sleeping on them a little bit uh so I'll I'll throw them in there uh NFC not to like make major noise come play off time but there's a scario in which Seattle wins like 10 games this year I I think Goos Smith fits really well on that new offense I think the defense will be better so kind of more sleeper I guess than Darkhorse but I'll mention both those teams Brian Roberts what exactly are the Giants Steelers and Raiders going to do quarterback those dues look bad last week in the preseason pre probably first and foremost um look I know there are still some truths Out There Our Giants the host and I agree we know what Daniel Jones is he's just not good I'm sorry sorry like and frankly he's actually never been good I have never seen somebody just get so many chances and the defense wins so many games and he gets credit for it it's wild to me he's he's just not a good football player he's never going to be he he is who he is he's fine he can be the 30th rank quarterback somebody has to be in the NFL but he's not worth $40 million a year so I think this is this is his last ride look I'll tell you what else I'll tell you what else these these teams are doing they're all praying Daniel Jones or the Dak Prescott H free agency because they'll F throw insert blank check there because every single that every single that that front office and coaching staff just saved their jobs because now they're they're a damn playoff team and most teams don't fire their playoff head coaches it's a little bit different in Dallas fair or not but those teams are all praying that that happens or that somebody emerges in the NFL draft and they can get that guy at one two 3 four five or whatever and hopefully they haven't lost their jobs yet so speaking of that who gets the number one pick in the 2025 NFL draft one of those te mentions probably not Pittsburgh by the way but is it somebody else sound off in the comments of today's show Epic jet from what we've seen from the Browns two pre-season games should we be worried about the offensive line we're missing Bill Callahan look you are always going to miss Bill Callahan uh that that is the best of the best when it comes to offensive line play that's just the reality but am I going to panic on the offensive line no because remember who you're also playing how many starters are really out there for you now maybe maybe you've got some valid concerns about the depth but Ethan posk didn't play now hopefully Jack Conlin and jedrick Willis get healthy soon if those guys don't get off the pup list that's a different conversation cuz then I do worry about your offensive line and your Tackle Spot your guards weren't playing right so I I I would panic yet from Grant toon or toon however you pronounce it uh what do the Chargers need to be better continue their rebuild that's that that's what this is a Justin Herbert get healthy uh more actual wide receiver options that are good and not like average um and contining that defensive kind of one to two maybe three or overhaul I don't think they're going to be a playoff team they'll they'll I think they'll make some strides as the year goes along but I'm just not convinced they're ready to be a true tender at this time [Music]
