seeing the dynamic return and that one will end up in the landing Zone and be returned strong has a little space across the 30 and the 35 at the skill positions they'll swing it out to Cedric dilman been brought in here to kind of modernize the shotgun offense of the Cleveland Browns to introduce some things like we saw in that first play where you have an inside Zone option or a throwback screen and post it got out there in front of Cedric Tilman the players they like it a little bit of Freedom some option routes some Choice routes a lot of pr- snap motion now we're not going to see all of that here in the preseason but I can tell you the team is very excited about what dorsy has kind of brought in terms of innovation Winston three 4,000 yd passing seasons the first nine years of his career will be in the shotgun he connects to David Bell and he is close to the first down looks like he's got enough and he's going to say yes that's exactly what David Bell provided last season David Bell found that Jerome Ford last season's Browns leading rusher in the game giovan RI a new addition from Carolina as the fullback and it'll be Ford tries to muscle his way forward and that is one area where Jerome Ford I think can really improve in his third season in Cleveland yeah we've talked a lot about the changes with dorsy but a big change in the running back room do Staley and du Staley is on Jerome Ford do not stop your feet last year he had the highest percentage of runs for zero or negative yards when he puts his foot in the ground gets north south that's been a point of emphasis and you saw it where that could have been a no gain last year he still gets a couple of yards sets you up for second and eight and that is really I mean you missed Nick chub all over the field but getting those three or four yards on first down when it looks like there was nothing Winston on second down looking downfield and he connects that is Mike Woods who gets inside the 35 yd line and it is good to see him back of course last year he missed the entire season after he tours Achilles yeah they like inside the Packers 35 Winston again from the shotgun being pressured and he is going to get dropped Quay Walker in there as was Lucas vaness their first round pick in 2023 conerns night now going into this season we haven't seen Jed Wills we haven't seen Jack Concklin James Hudson has been good as a run blocker he's been a good right tackle but can he man that left side in the event that Jed is not ready but the good news is Jed should be back soon and it looks like the Browns might have to burn a timeout there's only 3 seconds left on the play clock and there's Kevin stefansky to new verbiage so sometimes you know second and 17 and Winston again looking deep downfield and just off the hand a little bit like like the Hof is up here Joe Thomas you think he's watching right now over in Germany coaching football sure he's got a big Stein with him I'm sure third and 17 Winston's going to dump it down Woods is going to get it up to about the 37 so now do you let Kade York kick it absolutely you do Kade York he's got a big leg who could forget in his just such a renewed zest said we have unfinished business on this team I needed to be back and I'll tell you what his secondary coach coach bonda is thrilled he is little movement up front and they're going to whistle the play yard penalty Kamar the second-year pro out of Stonybrook has made it second and one and Dylan gets wrapped up and he's going to be dropped by Isaiah Thomas who really shined in the preseason a couple years ago out of Oklahoma spent 2023 on the practice squad yeah he had a sack in 2022 against the bank third and short for the Packers we've seen them score a touchdown and get a defensive holding penalty on previous third Downs it'll be a handoff inside Dylan the muscles not enough as Devin bush is there to wrap him up and for Bush another chance here a former first is not going to get it jamus Winston one drive and done finished four of five for 30 yards got three points on the board Huntley using his legs dumps it down to Jordan Akens who gets inside the 40 yd line go forth offensive series Pier strong is checked into the back field on second and short it'll be strong and he is bottled up for no gain may have lost a yard as well Lucas vaness very busy in the early going so tell us a little bit about this running back room without Nick chub for the time being yeah I think it's going to be kind of a three-headed monster Jerome Ford last year over 1100 total yards nine total touchdowns Pierre strong led the team at 4.6 yards a carry he's more of the vertical guy and if you can get him in space he can really accelerate and make big plays as a pass catcher and then that's going to be the hammer Deontay Foreman about 230 pounds think about what Kareem did last year that's the role Foreman's going to play this year and perhaps more third and short it's a handoff again again and once again strong has nowhere to go as the Packers line gets serious push up there TJ Slayton the big man along with Lucas vaness and so fourth and four come on it's the preseason let's go for it right now as these teams are going to go and it's kind of similar right a nice gain on first down and then you try to run it up the middle pick up the first down and both times the Packers were thed by the Browns Now The Browns thed by the Packers let's get Tyrone Huntley here I give him a run pass option get him on the Edge see what he can do with his legs and put a little stress on the defense I love it you're calling strategy in game one of the pre-seasons we a way to go fourth and four Huntley pressured he's got a man wide open that is David Bell there is a him out is looking very good Marshon Lloyd the rookie third round pick out of USC is going to watch an end around to Samari té and a pair of Browns are there including miles Harden the seventh round pick out of South Dakota yeah miles Harden they say he is not afraid to tackle they like him as a physical slot he's good in the zone coverage as well as in man but right there I love the way that they inside outed inm's Devon Busch outside miles Harden they force him right into the tackle Vice tackle they call it forcing a third and long Deon Busch by the way is flying all over this field right now Chris still in there with mmud diabate at the linebacker position Clifford on Third and seven from the shotgun being pressured and he connects with Joe Wilson one of the backup tight ends to move the chains for Green Bay yeah Isaiah McGuire had nice pressure off the right side but too much time in the pocket and right there the Browns linebackers had a little too much depth in their Zone drops and so it was too easy of a pitch and catch at the sticks you got to remember where the sticks are do not let them have that easy completion in front of you and again you got some new guys in there rookie Watson in at the Mike linebacker position he'll learn that as it goes along fresh set of downs for Green Bay fresh and that's going to make life tough for opposing quarterbacks Brown showing cover zero here no safety in the back they're 10 yds off they are blitzing and they swing it out to Grant dubos gets a nice block and a good quick Tackle by Brady Breeze second-year man out of Oregon that was a tackle he needed to make because when you're in cover zero that means there are no safeties so everybody is about 10 yards off the line of scrimmage they run a quick little screen to beat the blitz Breeze makes a tackle that had he not made he might still be running right there would be the Green Bay Packers Breeze a former sixth round pick of the Tennessee Titans has played a handful of games with Tennessee over the years before landing with Cleveland in the off season second and 11 on what could be the final play of the first quarter Clifford looks down the middle it's in and out that ground game going forward Dan wheelen on the punt it away for Green Bay as Jaylen Darden is standing at his own 20 and he will return it to the right side and get dragged it's August well he's safe in the safety room David Bell there's a lot of question marks at the end of the receiver room there are and for David Bell he's got to show even though he doesn't have that kind of home run speed that that he is such a reliable pass catcher that he needs to be on this pier and look at strong get past the Third hit a traffic jam right at the line of scrimmage and then bounced outside let's remember we did not see him just give Pier a hole and he can run gain of nine fresh set of downs for the Browns Huntley play fake he's going to keep it himself and he slides down wisely at the 38 yd line and Huntley an interesting guy as we focus on the quarterbacks right now we're going to see DTR a little bit later so you've got four capable quarterbacks right now let's remember last season for the first 53 there were only two guys on the roster yeah and last year was because you made a trade of Josh dos late picked up a draft asset I could see a similar thing happening here the Browns have four quarterbacks who should be on NFL rosters Huntley the pro bowler 65% completions for his career he's played in a lot of big games with the Ravens and so he is comfortable in the pocket and comfortable out of the pocket Huntley that is aarian brown kid out of South Carolina he's got the benefit of a draft pick and the rookie contract which is important on this team swings it out that's Jordan aens wide open and he gets it into Green Bay territory at the 45 yd line adid you have more on the quarterback room well Chris Nathan brings up a great point this is actually a good problem to have Andrew Barry told me because the Browns feel that they have three backup quarterbacks here in the building he was here in Cleveland he was here every day he was working alongside a guy like Nick chub that's seeping yourself in Cleveland Browns culture I love that DTR there is a special magnetism around him he's thrown the ball great this offseason and I'm very excited to see him here later in this game browns with the ball in Green Bay territory after a nice pitch and catch to Jordan aens Huntley again stepping up swings it and that's strong who gets it past the 40 that's a veteran move and by the way you have to imagine that the Packers are first year man out of North Dakota state has checked in hasn't been with the team all that long he is under center now on second and three strong busy this drive and a flag on the field just be better we got it we were right there you cleaned it up nicely hunley's going to keep it himself and he's going to get the first down nice block on the outside and he gets enough to move the chains on that zier first and 10 as the Browns have all backups on that offensive line including a pair of rookies Huntley quick out Mitchell Peyton now getting to do the busy work gain of about three and so with the offensive line we know the tackle situation Jack Concklin hasn't played since week one a year ago Jed Wills was lost for for the last third of the season because of knee surgery dwan Jones his rookie year was cut short he is back after having his knee cleaned up as well where does the offensive line sit it's tenuous you want to get Jed wills and Jack Conlin out there as soon as you can and I think we will see them sooner rather than later which is good news but now you're down your back up Center in Luke whipper as well Huntley swings it out strong has it in and out of his Ms as he was covered closely by Eric Wilson third and six Huntley John Kelly trying to slip through a tackle keeps it going did he stay up and now they're going to whistle him down back at the 23 but that's the sort of effort we love to see Kelly thinks hey I've made 30 yards and now on Fourth and Four Strong remains in the game next to Huntley Huntley flushed out of the pocket delivers and it is incomplete amarian Brown was the man he was looking for turned it over on down so Sean Clifford back under Center for a third series little play fake and looking down the middle he's got a connection that is Malik heat pick up of about 14 and a first down well the Browns made a great wide receiver pickup in the off season and he and just doing what I usually do well when we talk about Cleveland and it being a good fit why is it such a good fit for you I'll be able to um win depending on the uh def defense of Leverage or coverage you know and the option route gave you that opportunity to to do that yeah yeah that's how you can count your stats yeah and maybe your money maybe both all right last one you have two young daughters what's a he's going to make it a devastating wide receiver room in 2024 fourth and three and the Packers are going for it and they connect that is Grant dubos moving it along nice throw from Shawn Clifford gets it into Cleveland territory I'm very excited about what Jerry Judy brings to this football team it didn't even have any cell phone service but he would go to McDonald's to get on the coverage Amari Jerry Judy and Elijah Moore it's going to make it tough for teams to try to man up two next to number 98 Chris Williams who has had a fascinating camp and I might have jinxed EA as he moved on the play but the Packers are moving down field as Grant Duos picks it off in front of khif halassi yeah you gave him the drinks right there Bugaboo right there that's passing yards and passing touchdowns from his time at Penn State he's going to pick the Browns apart yeah four-time Captain there with the nitty Lions went to SX High School in Cincinnati and here he's going to hand it off and that is Wilson bruising his way up close to the first down Jan Briggs in there Brady Breeze as well but a Nifty gain there for Wilson who stuck with the Packers a season ago as the third running back yeah and that was kind of they had that motion and that caused a little bit of a widening of the linebackers when they had that jet Motion in front of that run created some space there and Wilson was able to run up the middle for nine it's official Luke whiper injured ankle obviously done for the day and we will find out more in the Kevin stans's postgame press conference play fake everything flow into the left puts his foot in the ground comes back to the right and that leaves kind of the contain with the cornerback halassi and that's a matchup the running back is going to win and the Packers having a nice drive here Chris fourth down conversion obviously but they are moving now down towards the dog pound you see Devin Bush number 30 still in the game and Nathaniel Watson the sixth round pick out of Mississippi State number 40 has checked in he's in the middle of the field on defense handoff Wilson the old Packers play they used to run behind Lombardi We got a seal here and a seal there and then you had a puller right here and he just rode the back of his blocker right there had his hand on his jersey and took it down the big pulling guard on that play for them number 75 making moves and and that was a good run and this defense right now you're down in the third string you know rotating guys in But Here Comes Mike call back in to try to make a stand right in front of the dog pound 12th play of the drive for the Packers they have certainly milked the clock closing in on the 3 minute Mark to go here in the first [Applause] half Clifford under Center throws a jump ball to Heath and he have to get it to the four yd line to get a fresh set of downs it'll be Wilson again he'll get it and then some he pushes he spins and he is in 18 going 17 of 20 on field goals and he is good here and the veteran has given Green Bay an 11th only if you're trailing this Dynamic kickoff is going to be returned by Jaylen Darden from the five he gets up close to the 30 before he gets leveled out of here with three strong nowhere to go as he gets wrapped up quickly Colby wooden on the stop that should have been a big gain because they had that set up very well but jvon Cohen pulling from that right side unfortunately got blown up at the very end of that play that stopped Strong's momentum had that block held strong gets to the outside and it's a big gain for the Cleveland Browns and then they talk about this is the ultimate team sport it takes all 11 doing their job Cohen an undrafted free agent out of Miami started at Alabama but he's a guy that is very good in pass Pro they really wanted to see him today but that's a block he's got to make on that pool and Spring Pierre one play and we've got a two-minute experience on those tackle spots they haven't started in a couple of years but hopefully they can hold up for Huntley here in this two-minute drill Huntley swings it that ball is caught and strong will not get out of bounds but there is a whistle that on Third and seven Brown's got to get it to the 39 Huntley pressured Lucas vanz can't bring him down however he does get dropped and that is kobby wooden yeah you can strike your pose after that and the Browns will be forced to punt and give it back to Green Bay with about a minute to go or so in the first half yeah and so that was not a successful two-minute drill and quite frankly the Browns offense has not gotten much going other than that opening drive that led to the long Cade York field goal there Huntley had some time but the pocket collapsed quickly and he was taken down you may notice number 50 that is Rex sunahara just signed this week went to Bay Village High School so he has a local product out of West Virginia also started at Rhode Island what a thrill for him to be a Long Snapper today good snap by him and borquez with the boot Samari Tay snags it and runs out of bounds yard field goals made a single season so the Browns defense under a minute to go trying to ratchet it up after an impressive Green Bay Drive that ball is incomplete second and 10 for Clifford browns with a blitz gets rid of it nice connection and another first down for Green Bay that is Bo Melton who gets it close to Midfield Green Bay has exhausted all of its time outs so the clock running with under 40 to go in the half that's a nice ball there little Zone Blitz Bush quite didn't get out fast enough to get under that route and Clifford delivered a good one Clifford will swing it short to Marshon Lloyd he loses his footing and gets a couple of yards maybe one so he didn't want any part of that Deon bus and Hardy were collapsing he said I'm going down second and nine throw between the two of them so yeah very different than the Browns quarterback room and in many ways this could be an audition for Tyler Snoop Hunley Clifford delivers and is that a catch if so of Wicks on that big one he's been the leading receiver for the pack 10 seconds left you got to imagine the sidelines all in play here with no more timeouts left for Green Bay Clifford throwing it away way unless they're all the way back here at the goal line they're not going to let anything go into the end zone and it's going to end up with a Green Bay field goal attempt most [Music] likely it's the same exact play they've been working on that in green bit what do you want and in between the goal line and the 20 and it must be returned this one will be returned by Brown as everybody can move once he touches the foot ball gets up to the 20 Stadium over the Steelers had that game-winning drive that led to a Dustin Hopkins walk-off field goal and now hopefully he can get started with a little screen that is John Kelly gets it and gets a first down but he loses the Rock and Green Bay went nine of 17 in the first half threw a couple of pretty you think he has any idea about that one probably not guy in his mid 20s no idea at all zero yes oh right and Maron Lloyd bounces back back outside he's going to get some yardage inside the 40 last year seven yards a carry at USC Pack 12 honorable mentioned but Sam Kamar right there had great penetration for the Cleveland Browns and you thought that play was going to be over in the backfield Chris and then Lloyd was able to get out of it and make five get about four five yards there on first down that should have been a negative play there and that's it's the little things right the Browns like many teams do not tackle live and so you will have some missed tackles and that's what these preseason games are for getting used to that physic ality that contact and Tackle into the ground Lloyd gets eight yards on that carry second and seven Joel Wilson's wide open he's inside the 30 inside the 20 and he's going to be wrestled down there Winston Reed the rookie out of Weber State played six seasons at that school second all-time leading tackler undrafted free agent makes the stop yeah two-time all American two-time the thing we we are so focused on the 53 that you forget that there's another 16 spots on that practice squad that are so valuable because guys get called up all the time on Game Day absolutely and when you stay in the program that gives you a chance to kind of keep your NFL dreams going there's a quick pitch to Wilson gets by one Defender but not a second that is Nathaniel Watson and it looks like he's a little shaken up the sixth round pick out of Mississippi state is grabbing his left leg you don't like to see that hookie Watson is a guy who can more after the game on that injury replaced by Caleb Johnson number 48 Clifford looking left pressured trying to find some space lobs the ball and incomplete and the Packers have extended their lead to 22 and it'll be returned by Brown once he catches it everybody else can move gets across the 25 the 30 good job getting it up to the 33 Johnson checking out the game today as DTR on for his second play throws it downfield and overshoots Jamari US Bank Stadium which is widely regarded as the best in the National Football League that one of course up in Minneapolis John Kelly lost the the ball the last time that uh he saw it third and short for the Browns DTR he's going to swing it out to Kelly good hands on that play kayin King though with the nice tackle to prevent Kelly from moving the sticks one of the things we were talking about offensive line depth and obviously you're right you have guys who have been out here Germaine affetti a former first round pick nine-year veteran Iden out here as well but the time for the quarterback to deliver the football has not been there and that's why you're not seeing anything down the field in fact you look for the Cleveland Browns for Kelly that's his third grab of the day they have not been able to push the ball down the field and that's been a problem that's why you got to stretch them not only horizontally but vertically and the Browns have not been able to do that in their line is not given them the opportunity to do that thus far Cory borquez is like yeah I'm good I I've had enough work punting the ball he's going to boot it away Samari turay back for the Packers returnable punt from the 21 gets it up past the 30 up to the 35 and dragg number 53 is checked into the game that's Wilson still running the ball past the 40 gets drag down miles Harden on the stop Packers are doing a good job getting the line flowing One Way cutting back and you mentioned Jawan bricks he was on Bruce Feldman's freaks list because he is freakishly strong they like what he he can do at the point of attack 39 reps at 225 at the combine Briggs is a big guy down there out of the University of Cincinnati 61 313 and team captain season to go for the Bearcats Wilson again oh he gets pummeled right there Caleb Johnson kid out of the U with the Stop and Caleb Johnson was with the Browns early in the offseason when Charlie Thomas went down they brought Caleb Johnson back and you're right out of the U he's been with theet that's the Arizona Cardinals the Steelers now with the Browns trying to sck we and make plays like that knife in hit get him down that'll get people's attention it'll be a little bit of a new look linebacker room and also there's a bunch of guys that just aren't playing they're they're all dinged up right now guys like Tony Fields Jordan Hicks the veteran sitting this one out today Michael Pratt the rookie out of two lane delivers his first NFL pass and it is caught that is Grant Dubose who's made a couple of nice catches today and now the Packers are in Browns territory for Pratt he is the first two-lane Green Wave quarterback to be drafted since JP lman back in 2004 by the Buffalo Bills he round first rounder he leaves tane as the all-time leader in passing yards passing touchdowns and completion percentage and a nice ball there on third down 44 career starts down there for Tain he'll just hand it off Wilson oh side steps a would be tackler he's got space inside the 30 to 25 and he is run out of bounds after a Nifty game time to check in once again with the DD King kabala who's standing by with a pro bowler great both of us so I heard that he always complained tight end's hold when he was a linebacker is he teaching you how to hold no I mean it was huge I mean just you know just family being from Nigeria it was such a Cleveland Browns organization but let's focus for a minute on that one piece where he's helping out first year NFL coach Tommy Reese with the tight ends we did just talk to David and joku about this I had to call the guy the tight end that he used to face when he was a rookie that's back when Mike Fel was a Pittsburgh stealer he of course was a linebacker he had to go up against the tight ends every single day the longtime tight end that that he went up against was Mark Bruner and Mark Bruner said that Mike frabel made him better every day Mike Rael told Kevin stefansky that going up against Mark Bruner every day made him better and you heard me just asked David and Joko about this Bruner said that he thought Kevin stefansky made the most brilliant move because Mike frel could teach all the tight ends everything that would bother a linebacker that would irk a line backer but then Briner said to me you know the best thing that a tight end could ever do against a linebacker is hold him so ask Rabel if he's teaching those tight ends how to hold well there is the best pass play of the day as thrash catches it and gets it inside of Packers territory great perspective last year at UCLA where he holds every record 69% completion so he knows how to spin it completed 64% of his passes last season in the preseason and this one is boy amarian Brown did a great job just to get a little bit past the line of scrimmage hey he needed that block from zier Mitchell Pyon and unfortunately was not able to get it on the edge had to stop his feet but he's got that speed 43 Chris and right there unfortunately had to he had to slow down and he got tackled as for DTR you'll remember his first start a season ago came in week four against Baltimore that unfair complely unfair situation a lot of people thought that deshun Watson was going to be ready to go and DTR apparently didn't find out earlier that day and it was a tough day against one of the better teams in the NFL but after that he started to settle in did some nice things as a rookie yeah he really did like I said he gets you that win here against Pittsburgh in that emotional game and that was the game of here goes into Denver and started to play well started to really kind of feel comfortable made some big throws in that one LED three straight scoring drives then he got knocked out and the sad thing for DTR was if you remember at the time we were going back to UCLA where he played his college football and that led to flacko Mania well one guy has certainly made a name in this city now in his third developmental Prospect from Nigeria 68 330 never played in high school or college but they say he's got great feet and a natural feel forward so he's somebody looking to try to make the Cleveland Browns practice squad that is cool out there well cool play if you're a Packers fan on that one yeah two guys are not supposed to to be meeting in the backfield there one of them got around in bettica on that one and Aiden Robbins the big Browns running back 237 did not have a lot of room to get that weight going forward finished up at BYU his best year of his college career came the season before at UNLV more than a th000 yards and nine scores for the running rebs you'll notice a lot of these guys two or three different schools these days between the nil and the transfer portal and everything else how many schools you go to one that away Emory right Aiden Robbins is going to get it and get into Packers territory nice find by DTR gets it close to the first down be about a yard shy not a yourself into a fourth and four that would be ideal if you don't pick up the conversion right here but I love the way DTR has been thrown the football right now in the Red Zone tight window throws so his accuracy is at a premium and so far he's been on the money three receivers to the left on Third and 10 DTR looking that way throwing that way completing that way to Amari and brown also a flag on the ball for the first time for Green Bay you know one of the things to think about here in the roster construction we've talked about that 53 we know it's actually 53+ 16 with that practice squad but you have a lot of Big Ticket items on this football team you're going to need to extend J coming up you're going to need to extend MJ Emerson coming up you've got some big ticket items and so to have a a backup quarterback of the future on a rookie deal like DTR you know this year it's jamus Winson obviously but the potential for it to be DTR gives you a lot of salary cap flexibility and roster flexibility in the coming years powered again it's going to get a first down and up close to Midfield before Brady Breeze knocks him down Caleb Johnson on the assist as well that's a great point though and last year they thought he could be the backup quarterback now he did get dinged up a little bit in the middle of the season and that's why the heroics of Joe flacko came to fruition but this is a team that knows better than anybody when they started five quarterbacks a season ago that you need to count on two three guys just in case yeah hopefully this year we have just one quarterback and it's DeShaun Watson because that I think would lead to a lot of position in sports and you know this Browns team with the depth of their roster you know you're probably going to have to keep three you put DTR at the 53 man cut down he's not a Cleveland Brown anymore and and so that's the those are the decisions that have to be weigh for Andrew Barry as you put this roster together but eventually the notion that you could have two that frees up so much for you in other areas and then financially it really helps to have the most expensive position on a rookie deal 66 quarterbacks started games a season ago 68 back in 2022 so it is problematic around this league that's the way the game unfolds so you have got to know that that is truly a top 30 position here on your roster little end around and that's going to be Julian Hicks a local guy out of for them right re sunahara the list goes on a lot of local flavor out on the field today Cleveland a hot bed for football folks yeah Howard stopped after a minimal gain under 3 minutes to go big picture would have seen today here Nathan sigura you know the truth is not not much right this isn't you didn't see the starters of your Cleveland Browns you haven't seen any of the scheme that you're going to be running but I saw a team that competed and on a positive note it's good to see Kade York execute are I mean I think the
