Celtic are the champions and we'll look back at how all the others faed on the final day of the season and here's what's coming up endon Rogers brand Celtics title wi Monumental and ERS the hopes to finish off the season on a high with a win in the Scottish Cup Final Philip clont believes Rangers can finally overcome Celtic at hamen to end the campaign with two domestic trophies after losing out on the leag I know my players going to go full in this last game to give the fans something extra something special Craig leavine admits he went on an emotional roller coaster as St Johnson held on to their Premiership status on the final day of the season I've never had an experience of that Elation and then right through the FL Don Kev beli County's playoff experience last season will give them an edge when they face race Rovers this week we've been part of it before last year we know what it's about it's going to be a real challenge raer will'll be feeling really confident in the back of a a very good season yeah we're going to talk about that playoff to try and get to the Scottish Premiership just shortly uh we start on rather sad news because uh Gerry Collins Patrick Thistle tribute today it was announced that Jerry Collins former player uh longtime assistant and manager of Patrick thistle has sadly passed passed away um Jerry was one of those Troopers always great company Rie you knew him well I had a great um honor of being in his company four or five weeks ago just having a we chat down memory lane he was great friends with Tommy Burns um and you know his passing I think will be felt right throughout the football Community yeah one of the great guys uh particularly ptic th and Hamilton AIS as well you know if you seen all the posts that were getting posted today when they had the news it just shows you how well-liked he was you know and uh even football outside of football it was just a joy to be with you know a really funny guy he always positive about everything and uh he'll be well remembered every Club he was at yeah and he's also one of those uh founder members I have to say that we we've got to mention uh Rie uh when Tony roer and chick young and Jerry and all the old guys got together they decided well we've chucked playing but we're going to keep on playing in a charity uh with a team called duah pumers um so all the xpros whenever they hang up the boots they get on an old pair of Billy's boots from the tiger and scotcher and they go and play in charity matches yeah they certainly do and they they're that well renowned they actually go abroad they go abroad but they don't take their boots with them Canal the wives are taking the boots and Jerry Jerry was part of that you know and obviously the annual dinner the DU dinner and Jerry was at the front they always had a theme you know a different theme and they all would March in it and it was just hilarious just fantastic absolutely and Le you never if anything every player in granny you mention uh talks about you never want to lose uh that dressing room humor the banter that's the thing that most players Miss I think it's the thing that most players miss when they retire that uh dressing room for morning to after training match days it it's such a big party football player life and H to to miss that it's always good to have something to go back in So dicka pumers said that first time I know tremendous it's brilliant and uh sad to lose such a such a great man yeah absolutely and and of course just one little foot note on it Tom when you think of some of the players that played Celtic Rangers thistle you name it anybody who had kicked the ball at at that level and of course the great thing about it was they used to mix it with celebrities um so the banter between the two was absolutely Sensational yeah brilant I was lucky to play played a couple of games for Juka H it's all all forms of you know actors you know ex football players ER Tommy Sheridan was there I remember who else was there James English so there's a there was a lot of players ex players in and and actors and stuff like that but no but I went great thing to going playing you played in a lot of games as well you obviously shows the penalty that you scored in that game you didn't the goal so is out 4,000 times yeah no Rangers fans were B you you want to get that be plug on you at the minute now I want to thank you for reminding them all there was one good story Jerry and got tell we're playing du we're playing Esco bride Esco Bri Junior's Park and Tony just used to go in the wing and just stand there you know and they just roll the ball in we play so it was about a minute before halftime and I F back half caught him the back his H and he's rolling about screaming so the half time whistle went so we going to the treatment room and it's a Sunday Esco played in the Saturday so the place is a massive and so it's not been cleaned up so Tony's on the treatment table and he's going Jerry Jerry do something do something the pain the pain so jer's looking about for like Bain killer and he just saw T here and the floor lavender so he spray on his there you know Ton's going oh much B whole place is absolutely stinking oh it's that of banter but you'll be solely missed and I'll tell you um when everybody goes to the funeral that will be um well if there is such a thing as a happy week cuz all you will have is great memories and and laughter and I think it's nice to hear everyone pay tribute to Jerry Collins the news that he sadly passed away and at the age of 69 so um we are going to look back at that final day of the Celtic win the league and celebrations Premiership season and it was a Galla Affair at Celtic park because quite simply uh they had won the title and this was about all the Celtic fans heading to the East End of Glasgow to welcome the team with the trophy Allison McConnell takes up the story Celtic brought the curtain down in a roller coaster season with a title party as Brendan Rogers side park Ed in the Glasgow Sunshine even Santa was back to see it 5 months after being booed off the premises all was forgiven it hasn't entirely been blue skies and ho ho ho for Celtic this season but the park head said came to life just as Rogers had promised in the closing weeks as he rounded off their campaign on an impressive 93 points here come your champions of stotland he'll be L by the captain K McGregor and of course our manager br Rogers special one this year because we've really not been at our best at all for the majority of the season but somehow we pulled out of the bag like we always do this is the sweetest of the lot do you know why because Uncle Phil did that La honor when he drew right and he thought it was going to go but you know what it's here in Paradise there have been big performances and big wins against hars Rangers and karuk a Celtic ramped it up when the Finish Lan came into sight St M did their best to spoil the party with Marco Hara twice giving them the leite on Saturday aturday mat kyogo and Palma however turned the game on its head to ensure that Celtic finished off with a result in keeping with the tone of the afternoon Saturday too was a farewell as Joe Hart signed out of Celtic Park an emotional afternoon for the goalkeeper kicked off with him carrying the title trophy along the Celtic way and ended with him leaving the pitch to a standing ovation 2 minutes from time in between times a green Brigade Tio in his honor underlined esteem in which he has been held by the Celtic support title part parties have become common place for the club that's now 12 in the last 13 seasons for the three in a row Champions they will now look to add a Scottish cup gong this weekend as they take on Rangers at hamen in the Scottish Cup Final a game they go into on the back of considerable momentum yeah so it was a title uh celebration uh uh even I think they really melted it with Santa they had Santa handing out the trophy at start didn't get that one I needed that to explain to me that was something that happened at Christmas time get birs when I come on right yeah okay uh Rie really overly enamored with that explation so we'll move on um but uh nevertheless if you're going to have one of those title parties Tom you need a you need a finale and they provided it with a goal right in the dying minutes yeah they did I didn't think it was going to come I thought they kind of settled for to each and I think there's a few players not want to get injured before next week H I think you seen the team that Celtic picked obviously rested I think six players one eye on next week I don't think any of the guys that come in particularly would have you know put doubt in the manager mind mind with that performance but I thought some were excellent on the day as well you know I thought they were going to get a draw but just icing on the cake Palma getting a win at the end just send everybody even happier than they were and H Celtic and good fat gr next the final of the weekend yeah and Brandon Rogers had this to say about obviously winning the title and what lies ahead the League this season was always going to be a monumental fight and achievement if we could get it over the line now we're getting to the cup hamton is an amazing place to play and go and show your football that will be a fantastic way to end the season um if you analyze the the the season itself Le I think even the most Ardent of Celtic fan or pundit um uh that's played for the club would look and say it's it's not been vintage no no I think you could say that about both sides um but it's not been free flowing the the Celtic of maybe the last couple of years under an the Celtic that was under Brandon in his treble treble Seasons um they've not been free flown but they've got over the line they've they've turned up in the bigger games when it's mattered for me and I think that that's probably been the difference for the two for the two teams The two clubs it's Celtic have turned it on when they've had to turn it on and and and they they've got over the line and they're probably as Tom says maybe in the best form of the Season getting into a cut final yeah and that stat backs it up ruy because when you look at it they've had one draw and over and above that in the last 11 games it's been undefeated you know and one draw in there so that he's they've managed to hit that rich Vin of form at the right time yeah you can see why Brendon Rogers is having a we go some people you know that uh cuz at the end of the day as we keep saying for the last two months of the year it's all about winning games and getting points uh to look at for me to analyze the Celtic team goalkeeper been magnificent Center half position's been all over the place all season I've never had two 10 and a halfs that have played most of the games Midfield laterly was off the boil with McGregor been injured I still think I know they sold a couple of the two fast players that we talking about the wide players J AB you know I think they were F of the way Celtic played so they missed them and I don't think the people who played in their positions were up to and that's why I think kogo struggled yeah as a goalkeeper when you looked at Joe Hart I mean I know a number of the pundits on Joe Hart Celtic send off Sky Sports were talking about the the fact that he should extend his season by uh uh well extend his contract by another year but Joe like so many goalkeepers and former players just think they know when it's time to say thank you and good night yeah well if if you look at his CV the amount of games he's played the amount of camps he got with England you know where he's been Champions League he he's he's got a fair shift in you know and uh there is a time I I don't know whether he carries injury it's the injury thing and I think it's maybe when you get to that age you want when you set yourself a level 100% how good you are and if you feel you're maybe dropping under that you know and I think at his age there was a we bit of criticism through the season maybe you know he didn't fancy that either so you know I think he's at a great season I think he the reason he's at a great season just as I've explained there he hasn't had two Center halfs in front of him that have been reliable for the whole season so I thought like Lee said there the big player stepped up at big games and he was one of them strangely enough though the big two of that problem that Joe steps down if somebody comes in sniffing around Jack butland suddenly Rangers and Celtic would have to you know find somebody of you know comparative skills uh that those two guys have yeah I think if Joe Hart leaves they'll look for a number one you get Benji seagis there I don't know whether he'll come right in at number one and the other goalies what's his name leaving as well so Celtic definitely need a goalkeeper and you're right I think that's probably Rangers he biggest cable asset and if they get a bid that they might not be able to turn it down so they'll then be looking cuz I'm not sure mcro comes in at that number one spot either yeah it's big dilemma for them um just a word for the Celtic 3-2 St Mirren and transfer speculation team that certainly some people were thought were just there to make up the numbers but s made a right go of it yeah they did Peter in the start of the game really well I think Celtic Mak the three changes in the back four they were all over the place at the back the first 10 15 minutes obviously Hara gets the ear goal for some mon H and then they didn't just sit back you know they kept going try to get the second goal they got the penalty kick H and then you think this you know they might get result here but know I think they a fantastic season pet the went to Europe you know my brother-in-law is a bent month fan a few my friends fans have not been in Europe for a long time they're absolutely buzzing they hoping they get a good tie you know somewhere they can travel to it's not Kazakhstan or somewhere like somewhere you know b a decent trip in the summer so all in all fantastic from Steven Robinson great season for him yeah and I'd just like to say to most of our fans in Kazakhstan that it's a good place to go on a holiday we really like the area and if it's Kazakhstan then it's Kazakhstan we're quite happy to go there Ry um just got to keep everybody on S you know cuz last thing we want is a ban from kazakstan to be fair um although the one thing I do want and I'd love to see the S Marin board not push themselves into a debt situation but certainly try and push the boat out and look for a good recruitment policy in the summer which could give them a fighting chance I don't I don't want a couple of qualifiers for s m then that's it no it's going to be difficult cuz they're going to lose a couple of big players as well they've decided to move Mo on to go to better things well I think they're going to better things but uh I think Sam's the same as most of the clubs uh in the league the budget is the big one you know and I think he's been very vocal even when he was on the show he was quite 100% to S out my guys on they getting paid big bucks my guys are here because they like to be here they like the environment they like everything that's going so it'll be difficult for them to poach people who are on larger wages than what they're on but uh I'm sure they are the right staff and the right people out there looking yeah Shawn rone is a good start Sean Roney yep knows a league um physical presence good at set plays and he can play probably playing a number of positions Sean right back but he's been Center half Center half even Center Midfield at push and on the right as well he's played so it's a good signing and I agree you I'd like to see them getting a bit of freshness about them using the money so they would be able to to kick on and and maybe have not going to do anything in Europe what I mean is just qualifying and H get some points Celtic v Rangers transfer window and budget yeah talking financi um and a footnote to this whole thing Tom is quite simply that I think the biggest job in the summer Alo as we're about to talk about Rangers in their match against Hearts Alo Philip Clon will have a major I think a major rebuilding and looking to bring in his own players which I think he deserves that time and space Brandon Rogers um there must be a discussion where he said look uh if we're going to recruit in the summer it has to be players of a certain caliber I don't think they'll get away with this same project that they've been pushing since 2003 I think they've got to look and say there needs to be some kind of competition where they can at least maybe stand toe to- Toe with teams who are in the second third and fourth Parts in the group wherever they get you know they they can't go through another season you know getting spanked at home you like you think so Peter I think we've said this at the end of the last few seasons but in terms of Celtic know are they going to go and strengthen are they going to go and spend the money ruy and I been saying since 2003 I me you've been saying it probably longer than me but every year Celtic 30 million last year B it was and then this season 60 million you know there's a real opportunity for them to go and and pull well clear Rangers you know and the Celtic fans will be employing the board to do that and give Brendon money I I'm not so sure they're going to do it again pet I think they'll sign a couple of players but if you think they're going to go and sign someday at 78 million I don't think it's going to happen um and that's the players that you're talking about that's going to get you maybe second place maybe third place Europa League and then you can you can stay in Europe after Christmas um we just have to wait and see but I don't think they will't here interesting Ry um because they're automatically in the group stages of the Champions League so you're waiting to see what pot they eventually go in the coefficient is absolutely of Paramount importance to scottage clubs uh coming into next season because the season after this one we're Dro we've dropped out the top 10 the Czech Republic's in there so that's why I'm hoping a hor you know a karik a St mirin can offer something as well as Celtic and Rangers and and every point you get in those group stages and Rangers we want to get to the group stages of the Champions League so we've got two clubs playing in the Top Flight well Rangers and Celtic have been in Europe every year but I think it's Rangers have accumulated most of the coefficient points with them getting quite far in the the European tournament so it is a disappointing teams have been the other teams apart from Rangers and Celtic who go in and play a couple of games get knocked out and all these other teams for the other countries they're masking up points so we're falling further and further behind it the thing I hate in European football with Celtic is when they play somay and and then they get knocked out they we can't compete with them yeah you know they've got too much money you know Celtic have got money you know it's okay saying they play I think it was the Austrian teams that were playing and saying I know they're back backed by Red I think that's a spin ER that they've sold a story to some people for long and weary and now Celtic fans are sick and tired of it they're saying no no I know because all of a sudden every time it's in the media Celtic quite happy to tell you how much money they've got they're quite happy stack it up to 110 120 so I think now the supporters are more than happy to travel about Europe and playing games but they're no want to be spanked they're no want to be no qualifying they want to be seen a bit better so I think the the pressure is on the board or Brandon or whatever somebody's got to call the shots yeah and and that brings us on to the Rangers predicament before we talk about the game Le because I think it's a huge summer for Philipe Clon because I also think it's a huge summer for the board because if you look at the potential earnings of Celtic you know with the additional money they've got in the bank you know it's three in a row the now I think see this Celtic site going on another major run unless Rangers suddenly pull a rabbit out of the and get investment to get to them you know to give them a real fighting chance I think I think there's probably investment needed I think it's it's a big summer for the board um I think they will back the manager um but it's how strongly can they back the manager I think there'll be a big turnover of players which won't be easy get into next next season and then you look at the other side of the city where Celtic have got all the money and haven't really had a right go in previous transfer window that's what we're talking about I think there's more pressure on the Celtic board believe it or not to go back the manager to get three or four five players in because if you remember when Brandon first came in we're saying he's going to get backed he's not really been backed no and he's had a bit stick this season I can see Brandon saying I need to get my own players in four or five first team ready players in that's what that's what I'm think how many do you think Rangers need signings I think quite a few I think quite a few to be honest I think when the manager coming out and saying it's the end of a cycle that would suggest to you that the players that have been there for three four five years could possibly get moved on Tom what did you make of that performance it kind of a summed up Ranger season in one game 3-1 up and let it slip yeah they did Peter and dominated the game for large Parts you know I watched the highlights you know Rangers could have scored five six seven goals you know they created a lot of opportunities Hearts broke up the part once you know shling gets thr scores um but didn't just come back just after half time go two one up go 3-1 up then you I think they're going to see the game out you know and get next week we we added confidence and to lose the two late goals particularly one the last the last kick of the ball basically no ball com a great finish and and gets house a point but I think he'll be disappointed with the result Peter and it just adds to the pressure you know I think I had something there they've picked 15 points up for the last 10 games or something you know they've not a good end to the season and you look at Celtic on the other side flip side of that they've sprinted through the line in terms of the leite title Rangers are liming to the end of the season and it disne Aller well for the final the weekend well you say that um phelip clal reckons that there's a there's a big performance at hamen coming up because in in one game everything is possible in the three games we played against them when I was here we have a draw we lose two times to one at Celtic Park where we played with 10 a big part of the game so it was every time really tight and I know my players going to go full in this last game to give the fans something extra something special so that's why I believe in yeah and he'll be hoping some of the players that have been injured I mean Tom Lawrence matondo Sutter balagan and barisich he wants to be able to pick from the biggest squad for this game yeah he's been unlucky the past maybe month with a run into the season the running the domestic season it has had injuries but again that you need to deal with us you need to deal with us where you've got a big Squad that it's tested the the strength and depth of the squad with the injuries but get in now the the most important game of the season which is the next one the cup final he it as you say it want as many people to pick for as possible um ruy when I look at the overall performance of Rangers this season seven defeats four draws and still they made a go of it and that tells you that gives you a fair indication of the problems that Celtic have had that we've had a title race with a club that's had seven defeats and four draws and Rangers yeah I think both of them that the managers particularly the Rangers man has every right to say that he has lost a lot of crucial players influential players you know if they were all fit you can see him being a manager going well I've had their four on my team would be better and it was only two1 so you would think we would play better but they're not there they're not going to be there you know I think think he's now he's just trying to be really positive which a good manager should do you know he's trying to make every make players believe that they can do it he's trying to make the fans believe that they can do it he's just believing there's no evidence that they are going to do it but he's quite right in hanging in a oneoff game but we all know that anything can happen on a day yeah um if anything you know most of the Rangers fans that I speak to who watch games and I've watched them over a long long period of time uh Tom uh these are guys who who watch football love their Club but no football and they're not going to be fooled by badge kissers and people who are letting everybody see the back of their shirt win something play for the jersey and give it your all and graft I mean this man was able to do that on more than a few occasions you know go out and win titles none of this gesticulating when it's a meaningless game yeah and I think there's a couple of players in particular k w silver who seem to be getting the you know the brunt of it the ranger supporters at the minute I'm not on Instagram post and stuff on Instagram you know and listen players entitled to have a have social media and stuff but I just think that now now is the time for Rangers to Bon down hatches in terms of players just nothing on social media don't open your mouth just try and keep stay on the radar and do your talking on the pitch that's what he to do call McGregor guys like they do every year every year do the pitch Peter there's nothing on social media and the Rangers fans you're right they're not going to get fooled and they're missing guys like Le mull Barry Ferguson you know uh Alan McGregor you're missing that I don't know that that dig of that Co for the leaders in the team H and that's why I think Celtic win again the weekend I just think Celtic no how to beat Rangers you know that they'll get in the game confident even if they got a goal down they'll still think they can come back and win Rangers for me I've not got that at the minute in that Squad Walter would have slaughtered them yeah I I think it's for me it's the players shown how much it means to them and how much they care and with doing that it's running further than your opposition it's winning your tackles and Getting Back to Basics really uh but showing that it matters is what the fans want to see yeah do you have a good feeling about the Cup Final uh I don't I've not really thought about it I think it'll be Celtic are obvious obvious favorites with the form that they're in um Rangers need for me need to score the first goal to have a chance I think he needs to come up with a a game plan How Rangers win against Celtic in the Scottish Cup Final that's slightly different ruy I think he needs to work out a way to say okay we've gone up against Celtic on numerous occasions they've taken 10 points from 12 now is the time to come up with a different plan to try and and come out with a different result m i I think the biggest plan is and and I I keep saying this every Monday every time I pick up a paper doesn't matter who Celtic are playing they're getting 75% of the ball Celtic have got Rangers have got to find a way do not let them have the ball as much and as long because they've got it for 75 minutes are going to be creating chances left right and Center so I don't know if Rangers have got anybody in their team that can dictate the game you know bar used to do it with Rangers you know he would he he did no he he would control the game he would get somebody in the middle he would just take the ball and then he would just take his time and wait and see where the runners were and where they were coming and everything and Scott Brown did that as well a certain extent you know they controlled the game I don't think Niners have got anybody like that that's that's that's the key to it all time because it's there's no point in anybody saying and I know it's been said over the past uh few weeks and months there's no point in turn around say all Rangers need to get physical because you get physical you get a John Lindstrom situation yeah yeah and I don't know what Rangers do Peter they were I thought were very direct to par kid I thought they put a lot of balls in top with the two field back they got be B Joy at it you know in the first 20 25 minutes sticking the ball in behind very direct try to get try to get stering on Taylor at the back post a couple of times even silver on Johnson um so I think that's what Celtic are vulnerable in the fieldb positions with crossies and I think if you're Rangers if you're if you're clemont and you're Alec Ray you're looking to try and get into areas where you can put put balls on top of the fullbacks you know and get bigger players and coming in on top of them that's a key area for me Rangers should have scored a couple of times Silva should have scored stering a chance at the back post as well so that's the key areas for me in the middle of the park rangers have got to win the battle in there because Celtic won out the park at parkhead who who would be your your ideal three in the middle of you going to match up with Celtic I don't know because you'd like I would want to play Sterling in two positions yeah you've said that before I I think he gives so much when he's playing in the middle of the pitch and when you look at Celtics three in the middle of the pitch aty and McGregor good good players so you you need you need a we bit of physicality in there and you need hard work R about them to try and stop them playing and I think sterin would bring that along with damand and would you play cwell for the start he's probably going to he scor the weend as well don't he so I think he's probably going to but then who do you play right who do you play out in the left I agree I think 3v3 in the middle of the pitch they need to get some to close to to McGregor you got a lot of stick for not playing Camp well at par particularly on social media couple Rangers fans I spoke to I don't think C is the great seed I'm I'm not saying he's he's the answer but you never even got on the part Peter and obviously then he brings him in this week and starts so I don't know I don't know if if he F him in that area I think can't get something about him p take the ball he's get confidence he's got bance about him I think you got to play guys in a game like that I'm not filled by him I I like my midfielders who actually can go and win a game they make a difference in the game they make a tailing pass you know they're there when the battle gets you know when it Hots up you've got somebody in there who can drag the other players around him and say listen let's get into this but also has that cam head as ruy said a Barry Ferguson where you could look and say right I I've got the ball I can lift my head I can make a tailing pass and kill the opposition defense I I think he's an imposter at times I really think for all his ability he should stop listening to the outside noise and go and show the Rangers fans that he can do something tough know but I just I just I like honestly if you're if you're looking at midfielders that that you think change a game see when you look at midfielders down through the years Le the really good ones you they change a game you know they do of course look at K McGregor he's got a B everything in his game and he's got a tackle in him he's got that mentality about him and and he watchs the socks off works hard but he cares he he gets angry in games you don't really see that F Rangers they're not getting angry they're not showing that you can can't even see frustrations on their faces Kum McGregor epitomizes everything that's needed to be it's funny actually because I think Tom Lawrence belil at him in the first two minutes and I think McGregor went up to him and said something along his lines is oh I you're the new enforcer you know as if to see you're the latest one that's come to try and give me the message but they need to find something and I'm not filled by I'm not filled by this waving to the crowd all of that rubbish think you're a footballer go out there and I'm not Peter but I just think he's I think I would play him if I was Rangers okay um it's it's it's all about Lawrence Shankland - Hearts 3-3 Rangers opinions what about the opposition Lawrence Shanklin um we watched him uh chat to us all at the PFA Player of the Year Awards uh last night um he spoke very well at the Scottish Football writers uh on receiving the award there as the player of the year 31 goals for the season Des misses a guilt edged opportunity at one end from about six seven yards out up the other end Shanklin chips a goalie no problem yeah L the season his dreams Peter I think to win both Awards is is fantastic particularly for a player outside old firm he scored 30 plus goals he got the same last season I think he scored near 60 goals in two seasons for hearts it's phenomenal phenomenal shooting from him uh there was obviously massive Rumors in January that he was going to Rangers and Rangers were in for him I think if Rangers would assign them I think that speculating that four four million five million pound I think Rangers would put would won the league if he was in the team from January onwards I think Rangers I think he's mes better than ders I know Des has scored 20 goals I think lawence Shanklin was scored 40 goals in the Rangers team you I look at the amount of chances that Des has missed so I think he's proved this season that he's a top Striker he's going to the Euros he's possibly going to be one of your starting Strikers as well and no listen he's he's had the season his dreams Peter and he's been brilliant are you surprised by that comment do you agree with it what Shanklin scored a botle even more in Rangers dou I I agree with that I think I think he would uh I think firstly what a season 31 goals at the team that's finished third out with the old firm is fantastic getting the awards rightly so but I think he can go up another level yeah yeah you think there's more to come from him at that the ages that now yes I definitely do I think if Hearts keep a hold of him I think it could maybe try and make a dent on the European stage as well well interesting because uh I think the managers n Smith shares your view on Lauren Shanklin yeah for your first season as a manager it's really good I think how comfortable we are on third we get to cup semi-finals um and probably more so the progression of the team from the first day of the season to now we're a much better team boys have grown boys have developed some of the older boys have took responsibility and and start to lead the group and I think that's shown all the way through with the calmness in our play with the calmness about us as a squad and that's why we've consistently been good yeah um fair play to Stephen asith and hars and congratulations to them for finishing comfortably in third um I think at this point it's only right and proper um because we do offer opinion sometimes we get it right sometimes we get it wrong sometimes you like the opinion sometimes you don't and you let us know about it we value your opinion right across it's an apology coming I'm going a long way about it okay shut it I was trying I was trying to go on a mey there to try and St Johnstone avoid relegation justify why I'm apologizing to all of per Anderson johnst fans because for the last four weeks I have absolutely slaughtered you um because um I'll never get those uh 360 minutes back of my life having to watch St Johnson who were rank rotten but ruffy I don't know how they managed it but they come up with the win at F Park and and fair play to them although the second goal was just a comedy of errors but they still took advantage of it yeah well that's where the Scottish football's been all year you know that you don't want to be in that kind of position but they've got themselves there we always said if Nikki Clark was playing regular at least they would have somebody who could Nick a goal I thought it was fantastic striking play that he goal you know but I think they get away with it a couple of times here and there goalkeeper again as I said to been the star uh pulled him out a hole a couple of times so and then obviously we'll talk about the Rush County game later on but both of these games could have swung either way yeah any one of the two of them could have been there if anything those moments of quality that were provided me off has been superb he won every player Year award the first time ever in St Johnson's history won everything every supporter's award what Striker top goal I'm not I'm not s I'm not surprised not only Not only was he Brewing but the significant contribution I love the way ru's talking about the goal scorer Lee whereas I'm in the uh pay off up midfielders Camp the supply from Gram kry in mid and then this one here for Clark is outrageous it's a great ball in I'm not you I didn't I didn't see this coming mother will miss some chances as well didn't they it's bear missed a penalty as well so Johnson have been a we bit lucky but that ball in for the first goal and that's what clarky brings it I think Clark is probably their only natural goal scorer but he's he's said ups and downs of injuries um but just so surprised to see them get clear I still can I believe it yeah I'm almost certain the S Johnson fans were checking VAR at every Point uh and then waiting to see if it actually was a goal cuz it was incredible and fair play I mean I like Craig LaVine I think he's absolutely box office in uh you know press conferences but over and above that he still has to deliver it was by the skin of his teeth but he was he was happy that he'd gone through every emotion and got the right result think I was after 90 minutes a day I carried it in a box no kiding you honestly like I've never had an experience of that Elation and then right through the floor honestly thought when I thought they'd scored incredible I mean it just shows you though though a lot of people don't realize I think there was a a study and a heart monitor placed on so many managers H in this documentary where they go through through every gamut of emotion ruy and of course the heart rate goes up and down when you realize that you're on a knife edge you could be in a playoff heading down to the championship if you lose yeah I mean everybody looks at the and criticizes the managers who charge up and down the touch line and jumping about the lunatics like Martin and Ne used to do and that but it's the ones that are standing still that are having keeping everything in they're the ones at the heartbeat must be going 100 m on hour cuz there's no release they're just standing there and there there's nothing they can do about it once I picked the team that R the park it's the lap of the Gods yeah absolutely will the gods must have been shining down on Craig LaVine the uh St Johnson players uh and their fans well happy they'll be back in the Scottish Premiership 16th season in the top flight got to hand it to them yeah brilliant H I said they were written off by a lot of people and mostly us on the show we thought they' been the playoff um and they've got themselves out at P somehow we getting two goals and riding the luck on the day but you le le t doesn't lie you know they' Ross County have been worse just going to speak to them they've just been marginally worse obviously goal difference as well was going to hurt them H and I think that R Rover Z Murray would maybe preferred St Johnson as well yeah absolutely um that's a long-winded way of seeing uh Tom's been talking Dean muray a professor Johnson um and he's gutted and I know why he's gotted in a minute just a quick word for your old side mother um 10 wins 13 draws 15 defeats St started the the season uh really well but he he a massive slump uh in the season I think credit to the board for sticking with him we've seen the emergency Lenin Miller uh this season which is probably the biggest positive um for the club's point of view and the recruitment hasn't been that bad especially the January window so I think he want to improve in that next season uh what was it ninth nth of finished I think he'll want to he'll be vying for top six next season yeah okay uh Ross County ruy um I know some of their fans up there regularly will have a we chat with me about their performance I I watched the game and I have to say you know Aline went about their business professionally they did you know but obviously once you went down to 10 men you would have think you know everything there is to play for was so much left in the game Ross County would been able to to breach it and get another goal they did do their best to get there you know they two chances big boy one felt the big boy white late at the end and he just leaned back on it but they were hitting the post they were doing everything they can but you could see at the end of the game how much it meant to them when they found out that Johnson had won yeah um put up a battle uh I have to say there was one moment 10 15 seconds before the end of the game and the header the goal's gaping it comes back off the post it could change I think Ross County blew it against St Johnson yeah they did that that was the key one Peter you know they're a couple of minutes away from you know it's a dead Rubble yesterday you know there's nothing to worry about they can go into that and that just gave St Johnson that one last opportunity to get out here and and to be fair they had to go to win the game and they've done that I thought Ross County the last 10 15 minutes as roughy say 10 men abine were hanging on a we bit and they were piling the pressure and they couldn't get that goal um but I would still think I think they'd be marginal favorites for me to beat withi St Johnson I know it sounds D because they finished above Ross County but I just think Ross County have got I've got more goals in the team and I think if you're a manager you're looking at that and thinking you you have preferred Ross St Johnson but Les n Murray will get into the game confident you know he's he's he's two games away for getting W Rovers back in in the top flight for the first time I think 25 odd years we work for Don K he's done a good job he's he's really managed to Don Cowie and Ross County play-offs Galvanize them and it looked as if they were rless all he's come in last what was it but 10 12 games he's come in I think he's done pretty well I don't think they'll have a problem stick my neck in the line I don't think they'll have a problem in the in the playoffs I think they'll beat R Rovers comfortably yeah they've got goals up front white and um Murray Murray who's has goal at the weekend was brilliant for it was great finish I just think they love too much too much quality and I and I agree I think uh Moray will be gut he did at Rose County I think he def FY St Johnson yeah um of course Don KY himself uh is well aware of the fact that most of the players will be able to draw on the experience of last season's playoff and we know what happened then we've been part of it before last year we know what it's about it's going to be a real challenge raer we'll be feeling really confident in the back of a a very good season um but like I say I've got so much belief in this group we need to dust ourselves down recover from a really hard week mentally and physically and then make sure that that come Tuesday we're prepared and ready for the two games what's been really positive for the team that managed to get the draw and that's Aberdine because uh Peter Le has done a fantastic job since coming in ruy yeah I think uh he probably got a taste it now you know been making the decisions you know and getting the success and getting everything that goes with it I think we know the new manager coming in and he's bringing a couple of coaches with them I think it all depend once they get here once they say like this is your remit this is what you're doing and then he's got to decide well I've had a buzz of what I've been doing to the end of the season so I think it depends what they offer him and how much involvement he's got whether he stayer yeah well Peter himself is well prepared now to take a we step back and we'll get back now to dundy killy one one uh in that match uh Tam um in the end last night Derek McKinnis picked up the Scottish Football Derek McInnes Manager of the Year - Kilmarnock FC writers manager of the year um so the writers looked at it looked at his budget looked at what he'd put in there um and decided he was well worthy of it yeah I don't think many people would argue I think it was either him or or John mcglen for me I think both of them have had fantastic Seasons obviously F unbeaten but command I think they've only lost to Rangers you know in the last 20 22 games you know it's a phenomenal achievement in terms of you know wins uh and and they've done that again at the weekend you know I think four draws against ande this season H they finish fourth they go into Europe uh and I think that Derek I think you know I think that BWI will will definitely you know back him the season yeah he I think he's a great see some of the players that he's brought on has been great his recruitment's been brilliant he's when you go back to two three years ago and he's in the championship he wins that he comes up stabilize he's no European place the some of the signings the style of play they've been they've been entertaining as well I agree I think Billy B will throw some money at to better the squad again for next season if you're a ky fan uh you should click on the Straight Talk when Derek mckinnes came in uh just over a week ago to sit down and chat all things killy and of course uh expand on his own career as well uh good listen good insight into his thoughts on when he first committed Killy the job he had to do and of course the fears of putting a squad together to make sure they stayed in the Premiership and then suddenly getting a chance to put together a squad of players that could do something to finish fourth um well deserving of the award I thought he spoke well last night Ry yeah I think I think right for the the start of the season when they did the one against old FM you know I think they've just kicked on for there went a good run playing good football two great wide players two taking a gamble of two Strikers in every game you know just playing with one up front got the benefit of that you know and I think at the back as well I thought Finley the we boy me have have been tremendous I think overall that his whole Squad have chipped in this year and yeah I think he's deserved it yeah little foot not to Livingston we tipped him for so many months that they were Livingston FC news going down um eventually now some players are starting to announce that they are uh leaving the club Andre shiny the first of them there will be more yeah it's always the same Peter you know when a club gets relegated you to cut costs H and David mart but try to build a team that can get them out the championship next season um I think they'll a few of them might stay in the league the Premier League Bruce Anderson for I think is capable playing the Premier League um again look sharp at the weekend and there's one or two others who might stay in the league but others will drift maybe in the championship or or down south so you know talking about hibs as well you know I'm just glad the season's over for hibs you know we expected Hibbs to go and win that game yesterday and and David gr maybe put his hat in the ring for the job long term but another a disappointing performance and result and I'm just glad the season's finished from a H's point of view yeah um it's just kind of a petered out for them and just you know on the the Livingston situation if they do not get that ownership sorted out Ry Livingston are a case that we've seen on a number of occasions where a club could easily slip down the leagues without uh you know without you noticing one two and three years suddenly you're in the bottom League well we could have told us Dave Ms were telling us third half of the Season you know things have been going on behind the scenes that he's not happy with and he was very vocal you know the other day there saying if this take over thing doesn't he go the way that he wants and he won't be there you know but you're right Livingston another a team that could just drop drop drop they don't have a fan base I mean what 1500 or something like that you know so that could drift unless they go into the the championship and going to be win and run the way Hibbs did when they went in and built it back up but it's I think everybody's now anticipating you know who's going to own the club yeah here's how the table looks Scottish Premiership table at the end of the Scottish Premiership season Celtic on top eight points clear of Rangers and great credit to hars they uh stuck into third position uh in the second half of the uh campaign and never really left there kuk battled away to Fourth St mirin tremendous from there Five Points clear of dunde and then that bottom half it's hard to believe but aberin and hibs in the bottom half of the table just not good enough and managers have been coming and going at Padre at Easter Road uh over the last few years and I think the fans are well and truly sick of it and want a change in direction for that one um as far as the bottom end there it is confirmed by the Slender margin of goals in their favor St Johnston Escape that playoff Ross County will take on uh R Rovers and Livingston are in the championship um and with that in mind who do you fancy Rie the playoff I was a we bit disappointed in R Rovers in that game Friday night I thought they looked a bit tired you know and part did particularly well but never go over the line uh I've got st's still going to stick the race Rovers yeah you've got to you've said It All season think the championship back I was just laying the Trap you know you know that b when you lay the leaves over the spikes and I just uh I was waiting to see if he was going to jump in but now you're you're sticking to your gun uh Lee Ross County confident yes because of the goal scorers yes yeah I think H I'm I'm going to agree with you and I'll tell you why for me is the number 10 yand dander yeah him Simon Mur he's scored another 20 goals about that this season I really really obviously you know I'm massive p m and I'd love R over stick him up but I think he's he's been unlucky that they run into Ross County and I think Ross County will be too strong over two legs Peter I'm wrong yeah um I know there's going be a we bit of favoritism because of your your mate situation um it's not as if you've had to travel up to Ross County when was the last time you were in ding wall since it was playing you know what it is in the map um so the predictor scores finally Tom you can have a look with pride um and as you can see I'm quite happy with third Tom you just ahead of me in second ruffy your 11th ruy which I think is a tremendous performance from you and the winner Pat low extended his advantage and he will be coming to a gallite with his partner I'm going to contact him I believe he's a HS fan as well is he a hibs fan yes um well ruffy you looking forward to it we'll get P meet Legend and ruffy it it doesn't uh it doesn't get any better off and by the way there's no very often you get a night out with a Hall of Famer you know it's absolutely not yeah and it's a great chance fact to partner will be so very good laugh um thoroughly looking forward to it um in the end Lee I don't think any of us um I was certainly Manchester City win the English Premier League hoping that Liverpool would do something did it just fell away um after all the uh I see what is it the hysteria that surrounded Jurgen klopp's announcement you know but City just at that final quarter of the Season Pep Guardiola replicating what Sir Alex Ferguson said year in year out there is a point where you have to make the Surge and show your quality to win a title yeah but what a amazing finish uh the The Forum they've been in then in that game for foden what a goal what a player and then the West Ham goal overhead kick you see that yeah tremendous ability but I don't think any is are surprised that man city have went on and win the league so comfortably you'd say and then get into the Cup Final next week I just can't see anything but them lifting the cup yeah um it's going to be really difficult in the future Rie there I I must think I think it's pertinent to mention there's still5 charges to be answered MH um and I wonder what comes out of that invest ation but the biggest dilemma for everybody in the English Premier League for me is how do you stop a club that is bankrolled by a very very wealthy man that's a problem you know obviously there'll be lawyers involved as well and very very highly paid lawyers who nine times out of 10 can uh put up a case they'll get the the club off with but if anything I would like to think is put a warning out to everybody that you're being watched so you have you have to deal with it properly well I would just correct your phrase It's not a case of getting off with it it's in case there's anything proved that they have actually broken any rules and I think that's the key to this um you know it's going to be long and we till we eventually get to a resolution but if they have um actually broken any of the rules first of all it's proving it second of all what penalty will be there and will it be a penalty that most of the people uh that look on and play in English football are happy with um as far as the games are concern Arsenal ran them close boy it was close uh with the Gunners in the end despite their win against Everton just not enough um here's Pep Guardiola and Mikel Etta's take on the season performance index being at the highest level that um that we have seen and it still wasn't enough and this is the level so um today on mix emotion firstes of all to to really be proud of of those players and the staff that they've done an incredible job and they have pushed every limit every margin that we could find in terms of numbers nobody have been better than us so the records the goals and and points and and four in a row I said before in our your college so I land here tomorrow and I said okay the next seven years you win six Premier Leagues I said are you crazy well um pep certainly stepped up and delivered and at the Cup Final I don't think you're even going to tip oh I could been an absolute Dune five nothing six nothing okay uh there you are he's just ruthless you've really man manag to to the boil right at the tail end of the season it's been absolutely contract Time Peter when I'm at a contract I always try hard yeah just it's just the first thought you told us you Dro tools to get a move that's exactly it's the first 10 months it's always the the most tiresome um as far as Liverpool are concerned um what a bow out for the Mana I certainly think a lot of Liverpool fans uh look Jurgen Klopp leaving Liverpool FC upon Jurgen klopp's time with great fondness there was a lot of emotion attached to his uh departure Champions League the English Premier League title in 2020 and they had waited such a long time to win the Top Flight League again Kenny was the last man to guide Liverpool to it they finished third seven points behind Arsenal nine behind Man City uh no surprise Liverpool's manager departing the scene was very emotional I love you all I love I love all um and everything about the club um but it's time for me to go and and and but look it's not it's not burning behind me so that that gives me a good feeling so we we are not that's not that you think oh come on get out of here so I know I can come back and I will come back and how I set off the game from today 3 hours ago when the game finished by the way um and I'm I'm a Liverpool supporter and I I love that yeah listen I'll tell you one thing that really really good about I mean you know I'm a Liverpool fan ruie you know what's really good about that club and the way everybody's reacted to it he's leaving a club and the positivity around it more often than not when a manager leaves you know there's this kind of a section of bitterness and everything I didn't see that it was just all emotion and all um a kind of a a thank you for what he's achieved I think that stems back to way back and all the Liverpool boys talk about it you know the the bootroom and all that and the way the the players all mix together and they all go it together and they they have that sort of a family atmosphere at a club in not every manager had the way that he's I think he it's been handled well the pr side it's been handled announcing it at the right time and everybody has gotten bored but you can criticize a manager who's given what he's given to Liverpool yeah I think he's also a thoroughly decent man he comes across that way I think he's been transparent in the the way he's come out and said that he's going to be stepping down the end of the season I think the Liverpool fans love him for the success he's had there um Champions League trophy and just Europa League trophy as well would was they win Europa League no yeah I think they did didn't they I can't seven trophies anyway he recruitment's been really good and it's it's a brilliant send off I think I think you're right it's some managers leave then there is sections of the fans but it just shows you how popular he's he's been um in at Liverpool we enjoyed our time down there watching Liverpool time didn't we yeah BR L you were plastered BR Brant Club the hospitality was tremendous one Champions League one Premier League one FA Cup two uh League cups Queen Shield super cup and a FIFA World Cup not a bad not a bad sh is it just made up a Europa League again just that could be have been it's one of those there was that many in that really was great but listen he leaves with his head held high and a lot of happy memories from a lot of Liverpool fans um and fair play to them for the way that they conducted themselves and a manager departing the scene um we continue we're going all the way through to the Euros to uh and then of course looking to build and get bigger and better next season um particular highs for you over the course of the Season uh I can't think of a top of my head Peter I think that roughy continuing to wear those Sketchers for a fifth straight year I mean I don't know when to go change there will be a new new Sketchers yeah new Sketchers a new brand Sketchers he's never get them off he's never get them off yeah I played goie on Thursday you've just never other can I tell you something this is the god you you you might be criticizing him for his Sketchers there was a period in year one of the old Peter ruffy football show where if you wore a shirt that he liked you just wore it for the full week and I thought I thought I'd actually signed up with compo it it was unbelievable there'll be new Sketchers new sketch I promise you there'll be new Sketchers yeah absolutely um have you enjoyed the dingdong Le I've loved it obviously my first year season of do it I've
