everyone's patience throughout the Summer where I took many many Fridays off and I was relaxed and refreshed and then I decided to come to Vegas and after one day of being here sitting by the pool drinking eating drinking eating I feel like I could use a Friday off but uh we are here I would say probably throughout the rest of the year each and every Friday obviously Monday through Friday is when we do the show from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Eastern 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. Pacific time but in the Fridays I take many uh in the Summers take many Fridays off but uh with football here and back uh we are going to give you some huge football Friday shows uh by the way Denny Hamlin who is in the news a lot right now in the NASCAR world uh with the 75 points that are getting taken away and some other details as well he's going to stop by we had him scheduled for a week and the ruling came down yesterday uh the punishment the punitive action he's still got a race uh this weekend coming up tomorrow so we appreciate him from what we know sticking through and staying with his previously agreed upon I guess you could say obligation if you want to join the show today so he's going to stop by at 4:15 p.m. Eastern and then the man that runs cira Resort in Casino Derek Stevens who I met last night wonderful man and really this place is unbelievable the stadium swim I almost thought I was going to lose samter yesterday in the pool and he was just never going to get out and that's where he was going to live for the rest of his life was just in the Circa uh Stadium swim pool so Derek Steven's going to stop by at 5:20 p.m. Eastern uh 2:20 p.m. Pacific today but I want to start the show today basically with a conversation that really took over the the last two hours of our show yesterday so we had Brett Favre on the show yesterday and we got a bunch of opinions from Brett on Jordan love who he thinks can win a Super Bowl and be a Hall of Famer we know what Aaron Rogers did in Green Bay we know what Brett favv did in Green Bay and in the last 30 years or so that's the standard with the Go Pack Go is of course Hall of Fame jacket and then also winning a Lombardi trophy we then uh talked about Caleb Williams and when we talked about Caleb Willams I I chuckle at it cuz I I know my pal from 670 scor David Hall was talking about it today and we were having a back and forth conversation the headline that we put out it does not Mis portray at all what he said because he used the name Jeff George to compare Caleb Williams still now I understand you're a Bears fan you hear that and you go o is that Brett Favre saying Caleb Williams is going to be a bust I don't think that's what Brett was trying to say like when I heard it I go I've never heard Caleb Williams compared to Jeff George but the point was Jeff George was the number one overall pick right he could do it all uh coming out of college and it was meant in a nice way but knowing how his career did pan out and what the expectations are which are Skyhigh for Caleb Williams in the windy city with the Bears you knew that was not going to uh play well and it kind of sounded like a slap in the face by Brett fav but I did not take it that way with knowing the intention that he was saying it listening to the whole answer live on the air now I thought the biggest stuff was what he said about the Jets and what he said about Aaron roders now there's been some stuff that's been rehashed and I know a lot of people don't like when I say this but I'm going to say it anyway this Ian o Conor book about Aaron roders I I I give two you know what's about it here's why it has nothing to do with Ian Ian is a phenomenal writer I enjoy a lot of what Ian puts out there but the reason why I just don't care for this Aaron roders book right now has nothing to do with Aaron Rogers but it is because of the fact that Rogers career is still ongoing we're still in the present times of Aaron Rodgers even though he's on what the 17th or 18th hole of a golf course when you look at the future and the rest of of of his NFL career so I want a Rogers book when he retires I want a Rogers book like five six years after he retires right now all the stories and and however they portray Rogers in this book it just doesn't do anything for me because I live through it now this isn't oh let's learn about a player that played in the 70s or the 60s we have lived through the Aaron roders era and I said the same thing when the uh Patriots not being being hypocritical at all I said the same thing when the Patriots put out that Apple Dock and I'm like I just live that you know let's wait five six seven 8 years before we rehash the Patriots dynasty and let's make sure bill bich has finally coached his final game and let's make sure Tom Brady's going to stay in the broadcast booth and not going to return to an NFL sideline so I I don't need those stories right now but I guess in this Ian o Conor book that there was quotes said from Aaron's father and also teammates which it's nothing new I never thought Aaron Rogers and Brett Favre when they were together in the same locker room had this warm and fuzzy relationship but when I brought it up to Brett yesterday you would have thought I was speaking a different language to him because a had no clue about the book and B he it was it was almost a foreign concept to him of this idea when he was in Green Bay that him and Aaron Rogers didn't get along so we talked about that and then the big thing I thought and this is where we'll start the show today your expectations this year for the Jets like for the Jets to have a successful season bare minimum what do the Jets need to do so yesterday I was talking to Brett Favre as we've been discussing for the last seven minutes or so and I just simply asked him about what he expects from not only the Jets this year but more specifically a man that he knows well whether he's had a good relationship or not it does not matter and Aaron Rogers who as we know hopefully gets through this season this year healthy because last year all right we spent the entire offseason talking Rogers Rogers Rogers Rogers Rogers every day there was a segment about Aaron roders and four plays into the season we all know the ruptured Achilles that Aaron roders did suffer so this is what Brett for said with us yesterday right here on the Zack yel show the infinity Sports Network about what he expects from I guess you could say his old pal in Aaron roders as he laces up the cleats this year and hopefully plays a full season for the jts jet jet Jets well if if Aaron's healthy I expect what everyone else expects that he leads that team to potentially a championship their defense I don't think anyone can question whether you you're familiar with the Jets or not their defense is pretty darn out and when you got a really good defense you got a chance now you throw Aaron in the mix and you know there's there probably not a better playmaker at quarterback starting in the league right now uh even at his age I mean he's he's you know you throw the age out the number and and look at how he moves and and gets rid of the ball and his football knowledge he's got the highest football IQ of anybody I've ever been been around so I expect that they compete for not only the uh division championship but uh the conference Championship so that was Brett Favre with us yesterday about his expectations for Aaron roders and the Jets there's a lot to unpack there let me just simply State my expectations for the Jets this year bare minimum what do I Envision out of the Jets and Aaron Rodgers this year I think Aaron Rodgers is going to win the comeback Player of the Year award I do so I believe Aaron Rogers and the Jets are going to have a good season you look at the Jets defensively they're loaded with Talent on the offensive side of the ball Garrett Wilson is going to have an incredible season Bree Hall is a really damn good running back my biggest concern with the Jets on the offensive side of the ball is not Rogers age is not Rogers coming back from the Achilles but it is the protection up front for the Jets on their offensive line for Aaron Rogers cuz the Jets improved their offensive line this off seon there's no doubt about that but that group last year was rancid so when you improve a putrid group and we discussed this yesterday with the Steelers it's one thing to improve it but how much better did you actually get and we know Smith's a walking injury and there's been other injury concerns on that offensive line they did draft the kid Olu fashanu uh from Penn State so there is some checks and balances there there are some pieces with high expectations just in case if Smith does get hurt or I should say when Smith does get hurt unfortunately but I look at that even with an AFC East that has three strong teams you could tell me the bills the Dolphins the Jets any one of those teams win the division I can't call you an idiot a [ __ ] or a dope I can't and you look at the rest of the AFC we know the Chiefs are really strong we know the Texans are going to be good I think the Jaguars are going to bounce back uh the Bengals as long as burrow is healthy they are a Bonafide Super Bowl Contender the Ravens with Lamar Jackson's going to be really good we'll see if the Browns and Steelers can get enough out of their quarterback position and then I mentioned the three teams in the AFC East and what they're capable of but I look at the Jets I expect a good season from Rogers individually I anticipate him to win comeback player of the year and then when you try to Envision and think about what the Jets as a team not just Aaron are going to be for this upcoming season I look at Gang Green and I say bare minimum for this year to be successful they got to win a playoff game now I know some people could say hey Rogers only has a year or two left Zack they got to go get to an AFC Championship game they got to go get to a Super Bowl it's still the Jets and the Jets haven't made the playoffs since 2010 so for me to sit here for a franchise that always gets it wrong and for me to say conference champion ship game or to say Super Bowl I'm not ready to go there right now so I believe they'll be a wild card team because they still have Buffalo winning the afcs and it's not impossible for the Jets to win the division it's not impossible for the Dolphins to win the division but until someone slays Buffalo I'll take the bills to win the AFC East so I have the Jets as the second team in the AFC East I have them in Wild Card Weekend and with the combination of their defense and also their Hall of Fame caliber quarterb back guys is going to be a first ballot Hall Famer we know this even coming out the Achilles injury with Bree Hall and with Garrett Wilson I think the Jets win a playoff game this year but after that maybe Jets fans don't want to hear this I think the rest is gravy I I can't set any higher expectations than that and I'll tell you this uh there's a few uh fine talk show hosts here from Kansas City and I've been talking to them uh throughout the last 24 hours and they are rooting for the uh Jets to fail this year which I'm not necessarily opposed to that if I'm being all honest but there's a lot of people that I think they're tired of Rogers they're tired of the hype of the Jets after going through it last year that many people are rooting for the Jets to fail so Stu let me ask you this right out of the gate bare minimum success on what you envision for the Jets this year is what the Jets have to make the playoffs and they also have to find a way to win a playoff game but what's they use though I think if they make the playoffs it's it's a success the AFC is so the playoffs just making the playoffs I think that's a successful season and if I had to guess I I would say they don't do that I just think they're oh you don't think they're making the playoffs I don't I just think there's too many good teams in the AFC all right so do this exercise with me real quickly steu who wins the AFC East uh bills okay so you take the bills to win the East who uh wins the north Bengals all right so you go bills and you go Bengals who wins the South I'll go Colts wow you're buying into to Anthony Richardson after that preseason game I I am still buying in all right who wins the AFC West uh Chiefs Chiefs so then your wild card team so you have the bills winning the East the Bengals winning the north the Colts winning the South and the Chiefs winning the West give me your first wild card team Baltimore Baltimore with Lamar Jackson okay who's your second Texans Texans fair and then the Dolphins and then the Dolphins the Jets are just on that outside like they're going to win nine or 10 games like they're going to be very close but I think the AFC just has too many good teams kind of if it was a 14 playoff in college football first team out you're saying yes okay now here's the other part of the conversation that I have to get to with Brett Favre with us yesterday play me the the the audio back stew and I and I'll just tell you when to stop it live on the air but there was something he continued and gave it a really good answer where it was like okay he said three things in one answer so there's a lot to unpack so I just want to refresh people's memory once again this was with Brett uh Brett fav with us yesterday well if if Aaron's healthy I expect what everyone else the sake of entertainment right who's the first quarterback that you think of who's the best playmaker in the NFL that would be Patrick Mahomes yep and you can't even tell me oh Mahomes has all these weapons yeah he has Travis Kelce but Kelsey in the regular season wasn't good last year his wide receivers were absolutely terrible they look like Clifford Franklin in the movie The Replacements that's how bad those receivers were so there's no doubt about it it's not even Up For Debate Patrick Mahomes is the best playmaker at the quarterback position and the best quarterback period in the NFL but the way that he said it was playmaker so if you just look at being a playmaker at the quarterback position how many names do you put in not who's the best quarterback so I think that's a different conversation but how many more names would you throw in there Stu before you go to Aaron Rogers at this point I would go I would go momes I would go burrow I would go Lamar I would go Josh Allen I would go stoud okay um I and that's probably it right maybe Jaylen Herz but he's got to bounce back he has to bounce back that's like a questionable one so he's probably around like six six or seven maybe Herz has so much talent around him like I think that factors in the playmaking ability can you turn garbage into gold my so I think Rogers is the sixth best quarterback in football entering this season but in terms of just playmaking ability I would say momes is in front of him Allen is in front of him and then after that I think it's open for debate because like burrow is the better qut I'd rather have burrow entering this season than Aaron Rogers but in playmaking ability I think Rogers turns more garbage into gold than Joe burrow does now you probably have to put Lamar in that conversation as well but Rogers clearly has a better arm than Lamar Jackson and Lamar we just know what he does on the ground so it's not put it this way what Favre said the he's not number one but it's not like oh Rogers is sitting there a 10th and it's inconceivable but he's just probably more so anywhere in that what four to six four to seven range of natural playmaking ability right St is probably the way that we should he should have said it for sure and if this was two or three years ago he would probably be like two or three like he'd be much higher on my list I just I still question could have been one two three years ago he could have been one yeah even with the greatness of momes and you know Brady was still in the league too he he there's a case in playmaking ability yeah he he could have been one now the way that we talk about Patrick Mahomes is just at a different level because the guy in the last two years with offenses that were not electric was still the best player in the sport and still found the way to win two Lombardi trophies even when his offense wasn't operating at the highest level so uh that was uh Brett Favre with us yesterday so I'll just ask you this simple question when you talk about the Jets this year what do you consider success for them cuz Brett farre sits there and he tells us he can see him going and win a division he can see him win going a conference Championship Game maybe even getting to a Super Bowl my realistic expectations for the Jets this year make the playoffs as a wild card and win a playoff game 855212 4227 855212 being said there is a bunch of different events that occur when you're out here networking opportunities and I saw our pal John Jansen last night and John if you don't uh recall uh he is a former Michigan offense alinan played in the NFL for for a bunch of years and now he does a talk show on 971 the ticket in Detroit and he also calls the Michigan games so I'll tell you what he told me coming up in just a second about the Michigan QB battle cuz what I thought he was going to tell me is completely the different thing that I've been expecting and anticipating all off seon so a little while ago uh about like a month month or less uh ago we had will Johnson on who is projected to be a top 10 pick in the NFL draft and you would think that this is going to be his final season with the Michigan Wolverines just a tremendous defensive back uh for the Michigan Wolverines and I asked will Johnson about the quarterback battle as it's a three-person battle but there's been a belief and an expectation that Alex orgy who you saw in small doses last year in certain packages was going to win the quarterback battle now Michigan opens up their season on August 31st it is August 23rd and we've had no official announcement of who is going to start that game up against Fresno State and more importantly when you look at Michigan the week after that they have an enormous game which is really going to be a tone Setter for their season and that up against Texas Texas a top five team in the nation personally I think they're the fourth best team in the country entering this football season and when you look at Michigan that's going to be a good measuring stick on how good the Wolverines can be this year depending on how close that game is or if they can find a way to win that game outright but this was Will Johnson about a month ago with us right here on the Zack gelp show on the infinity Sports Network discussing the quarterback battle and what his views are of Alex orgy we know JJ McCarthy and Blake km are no longer there Donovan Edwards returns and Alex orgy is back and there's a lot of expectations on him is it's expected he's going to be the starter uh what do you think Alex will look like this year I know we got to see him in small doses last year but if he is the starter what do you think he'll look like at QB uh I think he he has a lot of he does a lot of special things um he's just probably the freakiest Athlete on our team um he throw the ball deep he can make all the throws um he's a leader you can go out there and command the offense and he can make plays with his legs too so I feel like he can really do it all so I mean I mean he's got to go out there and prove it and go out there and uh do what he does I think he has a bright right future ahead of him so this is the first big decision for chirome Moore this is the first major decision for chirome Moore who is going to be his quarterback and as we sit here on August 23rd we still don't know and all offseason long I expected that Alex orgy was going to be the starting quarterback game one for the Michigan Wolverines with how he is as a runner and I don't know what he can be as a thrower of the football but I think the upside is the highest for Michigan this year with Alex orgy as the starting quarterback but last night when I was here at Circa Resorts I did get to see John Jansen and you know I've uh tailgated with John before before he called the Michigan Ohio State game and we've had him on the show before a ton and I just simply said to John when we were catching up and having a conversation I was getting my Michigan fixed in with him who do you think is going to be the starting quarterback and I was just assuming he was going to say it was going to be Alex orgy and John Jansen told me last night and once again former Michigan offense Al lineman does a a daily talk show weekdays in uh uh in Detroit on 971 the ticket and then also calls the Michigan games he's big in the Michigan Community he's big around the program he said he thinks it's going to be Davis Warren he believes Davis Warren is going to to be the starting quarterback for the Michigan Wolverines and it's tough to say that would be a mistake and I'm obviously not at the practices I'm not the coach but I just look at it from the upside potential of what Alex orgy could be and I understand this may be lazy but it's part of recent history like look at jayen milro Jaylen milro a phenomenal Runner a year ago there were questions about his arm early on struggled right out of the gate and then the season progressed he got better and better and better and then boom in a 14 playoff we know Alabama was in it where they ended up losing the Rose Bowl to Michigan so I thought that answer by John Jansen was fascinating because it goes against even though it wasn't 100% but most people that follow Michigan football most people that talk about Michigan football expected for it to be Alex orgy now that's not John saying it's 100% And there's been no announcement made but he has a lot of Intel he has a lot of knowledge and I think his opinions are something that we should take extremely seriously so this is the first time I've even considered that someone else other than Alex orgy was actually going to win the Michigan QB battle and according to John Jansen when I talked to him last night he believes that Davis Warren is going to be the one that starting week one and there obviously still be packages for Alex orgy like he's still going to be a part of this team with this athletic ability but that's just what John uh kind of uh threw out there last night and we'll see if that's going to end up being right or if it's going to end up being wrong personally if I was making a decision like I said I would go uh with Alex orgy but John thinks it's going to be Davis Warren it is Zack GB show on the infinity Sports Network staying here with the big 10 I was thinking about this as well there are three coaches in the Big 10 this year that as we enter this season with week zero getting underway there's no coaches in the Big 10 that are under more pressure and pressure is an ambiguous term you could Define it in many different ways but there's no coaches under more pressure than these three coaches in the Big 10 Ryan Day James Franklin and Lincoln Riley so when you look at those three coaches Ryan Day what does he have to do this year bare minimum he has to beat Michigan because you look at Michigan Michigan's going to have a sensational defense you know their offensive line and the Run game is always going to be up to par but there are major question marks about the quarterback position there are question marks at the wide receivers I think coulston Loveland could win the Macky award this year he is a phenomenal tight end he should win the Macky award this year but there is a great question about what Michigan is at the quarterback position and you look at it from a talent perspective there is more Talent on the Ohio State roster this year than Michigan but there's been more talent in other years on the Ohio State roster than Michigan and Michigan still won but here's the thing you look at Michigan there's been a lot of change we've now seen Jim Harbaugh and many other coaches leave the program also you have Chris Jenkins no longer there JJ McCarthy no longer there Blake corm not no longer there Mikey Sanders still no longer there you know you look at it this year and I want to see Michigan kick the crap out of Ohio State I would love to see that happen but there are no excuses this year if Ryan Day can't find a way to get the job done up against Michigan because quite frankly he's not only expected to beat Michigan he's expected to do a lot more but bare minimum there will be no way to justify his job outside of this if he loses to Michigan and then goes on and wins a national championship that's the only way he keeps his job but if he loses to Michigan he's done as the head coach of the high State Buck guys whether you think that's fair or not now let's get to James Franklin my BFF my good pal James Franklin in a four team format I would never sit here and I would never Advocate and I would never expect James Franklin to make a college football playoff would not do it check you know say I'm insane all right if I ever said in a four team format that James Franklin who can't win a big game to save his life would make a college football playoff for I know the Penn State fans going to tell me oh but he won a big 10 championship did he make the college football playoff that year no we didn't so now going to 12 it would be absolutely pathetic in a 12 team format for a coach who is very good but not great and should only have at most one or two losses on his schedule if he finds a way to get three losses or four losses and miss a 12 team uh playoff he should be fired he should be fired instantly if they're not going to make the playoffs and Pat craft who I love the the athletic director of pen State you cannot keep James Franklin as the head football coach if he misses a a 12 team college football playoff now the other coach I mentioned was Lincoln riy Lincoln Riley I've always said was overrated now that's not me saying Lincoln Riley's trash it's not me saying Lincoln Riley sucks it's not me saying Lincoln Riley's incompetent he's a bad football coach Lincoln Riley's a damn good football coach but he's never won a college football playoff game and at Oklahoma people thought he was like the greatest offense of Mind of all time and I've said if he's that great you he would have won at least one college football playoff game with all the Heisman trophy finalist all the Heisman Trophy winners and all the times he won the Big 12 when he was at Oklahoma now we know Lincoln Riley's at USC Lincoln rileigh a big reason why people think he left Oklahoma was he was afraid that Oklahoma was going to the SEC and that was going to happen so now he's at USC they move into the Big 10 there's been all those reports which he did not refute you know he just wouldn't talk about it so he never said no but he just refused to talk about it but there was that belief that their first game of the season which is a big one you know going up against LSU that he was trying to back his way out of it you know and and that's been talked about that's been out there obviously but for Lincoln Riley at USC you had Caleb Williams if Caleb didn't get hurt against Utah they probably win the Pack 12 championship and that's not to be disrespectful to cam Rising that's not to be disrespectful uh to Kyle Whittingham I love those two guys but if Caleb doesn't get hurt he probably wins a Pack 12 Championship but last year with Caleb Williams and really it started with that defensive coordinator Grinch and it was just stupid that they went into the season with him as the DC and everyone knew it every single person knew it but you look at having Caleb Williams you didn't make the college football playoff you didn't win a conference Championship and now you move from the Pack 12 into a tougher conference in the Big 10 and you're coming off at8 win season I I don't know how USC does this year but Lincoln Riley needs to restore confidence with this fan base now I don't think he's in danger of losing his job but that seat's going to be on fire if he has a seven or eight win season this year because you had eight wins last year and I know there's a lot of changes on that team but you're still Lincoln Ry you're still at USC you can't be an underwhelming team in your first year in the Big 10 it is Zach Yelp show on the infinity Sports Network come to you and Devonte Smith but yesterday the team added a former top 20 pick in Jan doson after two mediocre seasons in Washington on sides off sides the Eagles wide receiver Trio of brown Smith and Dawson is the best one in the NFL so the two that I think are better just off the top of micab basa the Chicago Bears and then also the Seattle Seahawks those are the first two that I've thought of now AJ Brown and Devonte Smith if it was just Duos are better Duos than DK meaf and Tyler Lockett and also DJ Moore and Keenan Allen so it's not just because hey every wide receiver that the Bears and the Seahawks have are better than the Eagles that would not be true but the way that you asked it is that the best Trio of wide receivers in the league and you look at the third options without even playing a snap I think radun is a better player than Jan doson and I was a huge huge fan of Jan dson a few years ago coming out of college and he could still be a good player in this league but he's got to put it together and I also think Jackson Smith and jiga is better than datson as well so the third piece it's a good move by The Eagles a Savvy move by the Eagles and it's a good option for them but it's based off potential and I haven't seen enough from datson yet so I think the third piece is the weak link here when you look at the tiebreakers compared to the other two pieces that I mentioned the other two teams that I mentioned so the Eagles wide receiver Trio of brown Smith and doson is the best Trio in the NFL close but I'll go offside offside all right the Jets have high expectations thanks to a strong defense and the return of Aaron Rodgers and yesterday's yesterday Packers Legend and former Rogers teammate Brett Favre joined the show and he put more praise on Rogers Well if if Aaron's healthy I expect whatever one else expects that he leads that team to potentially a championship their defense I don't think anyone can question whether you're familiar with the Jets or not their defense is pretty darn Stout and when you got a really good defense you got a chance now you throw Aaron in the mix and you know there there probably not a better playmaker at quarterback starting in the league right now uh even at his age I mean he's he's you know you throw the age out the number and and look at how he moves and and gets rid of the ball and his football knowledge he's got the highest football IQ of anybody I've ever been around so I expect that they compete for not only the uh division championship but uh the conference Championship so onsides offsides the Jets will be in the AFC divisional round I think the Jets are a wild card team and I think the Jets win a playoff game this year and then they're eliminated in the divisional round so you ask me theet will be in the AFC division round I will go on sides all right Lincoln Riley is entering an important season at USC after a few subpar seasons for the Trojans yesterday Riley was asked if he'd like to have former USC coaching Legend Pete Carroll around the program to help I'd love to have him he's great he's been coach has been great to me we've had a chance to catch up pretty often uh check him with each other uh he's been a a great resource and uh you know great person to be able to pick his brain and he's been very good to me so yeah shoot I'm I'm excited he's going to be here more and would be crazy to not take advantage of having him around so whether it's in an official role or not so on sides off sides if the chojan struggle in the Big 10 you could see USC moving on from Riley and bringing back Carol to be the head coach to be the head coach uh no that that's a no right in the in the Randy Jackson uh way of saying it from American Idol that's off sides maybe a few years ago I I love Pete Carol but that idea of Pete Carol coming back to replace Lincoln Riley who a year from now could be on the hot seat but I don't believe that if USC moves on from Lincoln Riley saying hey Pete come back and Coach the team I will say this if you're going to want a reunion I don't think it's crazy if Ryan Day loses to Michigan this year that Ohio State places a phone call and ask if Urban Meer wants to come back and be the head coach I don't think that's crazy crazy but Pete Carol coaching USC crazy to me all right Paul SK is dominated as a rookie for the Pirates a massing a record of 8-2 with an RA of 2.16 after he had another impressive outing yesterday where he allowed just two hits in six scoreless Innings however after the game Skipper Derrick Shelton was asked if they might shut skin down at some point to preserve his arm he will not pitch on regular rest the rest of the year I mean I can almost assure you of that I say things indefinite very much but I would say it's 95% he would not throw like on regular 4-day rest now there is no immediate plans to shut him down there has never been any immediate plans to shut him down how we monitor that whether it's an in Innings limit or workload limit per game like we'll be thoughtful about that so onid off sides the Pirates should shut down schemes for the rest of the season no I think they're being careful enough I I I would not want to do that to the fans even though they're clearly out of it to shut Paul sches down for the rest of the season so he won't pitch pitch on a regular rest you just heard that and then also there's going to be some sort of pitch count inning limits as well I think that's enough for me uh to say when you ask me the Pirates should shut down schemes for the rest of the Astros yesterday the team fired Mander Scott service though report says servers found out about the firing on social media they tell him his Services were no longer needed they they did this was before he was even scheduled to meet with owner Jerry depoto so on sides off sides you have no issue with coaches finding out break about firings for breaking news rather from the teams themselves wait wait wait hold on so I I read this I read the story that he was out as the manager you're telling me he found out like on social media that's what it would claim to be yes so someone in the front office or whoever ran to the media and said hey we're firing our manager before the team even told him it it would appear that way that's classless pretty bad classless and I like the Mariners you know I was talking about them maybe I jinxed them about a month ago as a team that could potenti to go to the World Series as long as they get in because of the trio that they have in their starting rotation I I have no problem with them firing the manager but you got to tell them before it gets to the media so you ask me you have no issue with coaches finding out about firings from breaking news rather than directly from the team uh offside yeah I I have a big issue with that offside that's that's terrible uh that's that's really low class assuming that's true uh by the Seattle Mariners hey about one day where I actually felt that Brandon auk was going to get traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers one day every other day this summer and I've said it until I am literally bleue in the face with Brandon auk I have H said that he'll be on the 49ers he'll get a long-term deal and they'll trade Debo Samuel a year from now but our poll question is up right now it is active you can find find it on Twitter X whatever you want to call it Zack Gelb if you could only have one for the rest of your life what is it a burger or a steak right now 55.9% say a steak 44.1% say a burger I came to the I was blocked so I told Andrew philipon about it and within I don't know 2 hours of telling philipon when he was visiting us in our New York City Studios he was doing a show out of our New York City headquarters uh back at 345 Hudson Street I got a text from Chris meller apologizing saying I don't know how I blocked you cuz I always thought we were friendly or whatever you consider friends here in the radio world but he chimes in now we know he doesn't block me anymore and he responds and interacts with my content can't believe I'm saying this but Burger easily and and it took me until I turned 30 to realize that I think I would always say steak steak steak steak steak I'm a huge steak guy but after last night consistently if I could only pick one for the rest of of my life I would go uh with the burger all righty let's hear from Mike silver who was on kmbr yesterday let's see if we actually have an update or any new information on the Brandon iuk front my updated information is that everything is still on the table including all the trades you've heard about and I know the Patriots have said Ah that's over but you know maybe they're less likely but I think that Steeler scenario where you get picked flip a pick get a player from someone else is on the table I wouldn't rule out Washington and I know they have there have been reports that the commanders are out but they just traded a receiver today is that an update so it started off really no update but I thought about Brandon auk to the commanders in quite some time the last time I thought about it being a possibility was when he showed up to the pivot broadcast uh with Channon Crowder um you also have Fred Taylor and Ryan Clark and iuk shows up with Jaden Daniels that was the last time I seriously considered maybe maybe that the commanders would be a destination but I I never thought he was actually going there could be a destination and then being convinced he was going to go there there was one day I was convinced he was going to be a stealer outside of that I was convinced he was going to get a deal done with the 49ers so I would say that somewhat new information I don't know how well sourc it is or how credible it actually is but the commanders being back in play how does that happen I you know just cuz Jan dots got traded does not mean the commanders are back in play for Brandon auk the only way the commanders are really in on Brandon iuk is this Brandon auk Walks to the 49ers and say guys we've been trying to hammer out this new deal for months we've been close close but no cigar I'm done I I do not want to be on this team anymore and he would then have to then follow it up by saying I don't want to be on the Steelers I want to go reunite with my college buddy and Jayden Daniels when we played together at Arizona State trade me to the commanders it's the only team I'll accept to trade to now John Lynch and Kyle Shannon come back to me and say hey you're under the contract we're not trading you tough luck suck it up you're playing football for us this year whether you like it or not and if you don't want to play if you don't want to show up then we don't pay you all right if you want to go that route you're more than entitled to do that you know they could handle that but I don't think auk I think he's okay with going somewhere else if he had to but his preference is to still be on the 49ers and if they roughly offered him from what we were told $26 million a year they can't be that far off like New England went above and beyond they offered him 32 I still got to think 2829 and maybe you got to figure out the guarantees this should be done by now it really is and it's mindboggling to me how this deal is not done yet we have spent so much airtime talking about this and I'm starting to feel I felt it two weeks ago and I went on that rant but now I'm really really feeling it it's just it's a waste of time I almost feel as if it's a movie that you watched 30 times before you know what the ending is but when you watch the movie the 31st time you're like oh maybe the ending is going to change and you know that the ending is not going to change I just don't think Brandon auk is getting traded and Mike silver it was it was minimal news if you even want to call that news if I'm being serious he was like uh there's no new news uh uh but you know I will say the commanders you know all options are still on the table all right the Browns aren't on the table if they were that deal would have already been done because Amari Cooper would have been more than enough for the San Francisco 49ers clearly the Browns didn't want to pay Brandon iuk whatever he wants or Brandon iuk doesn't want to go there so cross the Browns off the Pats already pulled out you know Brandon iuk wakes up tomorrow and says he wants to be a patriot I'm sure Elliot wolf will give him the $32 million a year again but Brandon iuk is not doing that I think Brandon iuk is fine with going to the Steelers I really do but the Steelers don't have a piece for the San Francisco 49ers who are in win now mode and that's been the holdup and even the reporting of it was oh well the Steelers think they have a deal the framework of a deal in place but the Niners just need to say yes it's like what that that would be like if I said to you stu hey Stu you're selling this piece of uh Furniture you know I'll offer you 200 bucks for it and then I went back and said oh I think I have a deal in place but Stu never said yeah steu wants like 500 you know that's that's not having a deal in place in terms of a trade you may think you're close but the ners have to say yes still and the ners haven't said yes on that and I that the Steelers would pay auk whatever whatever he wants I think that's been clear and then you have the commanders the commanders smoke I think it was Brian Mitchell joined us has basically been done in that thought about Brandon iuk and that conversation about Brandon auk yes he had the pivot thing but what Mitch said with Mitchell said with us was that's kind of been gone since the draft where that was a serious legitimate conversation but once it didn't happen at draft night it's been on the back bur I know it's popped up as as of late but I I would be stunned if we get breaking news next week and we're two weeks away from the start of the season so you're coming around the corner if we get breaking news in the next two weeks that Brandon iuk has been traded my jaw would literally hit the floor so if you want to say is there something there if if that story by Mike silver is a nothing Burger um I would lean more that that's a nothing Burger I I I really just saying hey all options are on the table and all the ones that you mention I know the Patriots say they're out you know the brown and the Steelers all the ones you talk about and you go even the commanders what is that based off of why like who is the camp that's telling you that it has to be that you camp but I can't take them seriously because they got the most money possible and he didn't want to go to New England so I think as this continues to play out you see that Brandon auk prefers to stay on the San Francisco 49ers and ultimately I do believe that cooler heads will prevail and they'll find a way to get a deal done but I'm still surprised how they haven't got a deal done yet because if you know the high end was 32 from the Pats and what the ners offered was 26 how they can't meet at 28 or 29 and figure out the guarantees it's starting to become a story that I I believe that everyone's had fatigue with it you know we've had Bart Winkler on a Winkler wedes he was fatigued with it a month ago I was fatigued with it a few weeks ago just come on 49ers auk get in a room get a deal done and just stop at this nonsense of oh the Browns or oh the Patriots still be in play the commanders still be in play the Steelers it's a the time thanks so much for it how you been uh doing good well tell me what you're doing and and the partnership with FedEx cares please yeah this is great it's uh part of the Great initiative that football you go out on the grid iron I'm just curious and I don't know if you I'm sure you've told this before but how did you really fall in love with racing cars and and when was like the first time you really got involved in it uh I went to a race when I was 5 years old um that's when it really all started is I went to a NASCAR race in Virginia um the minute I smelled the tires in the fuel and the bur the cars going roaring by I was done at that point uh knew I wanted to be a race car driver and so I just worked at it and my parents bought me a go-kart when I was just a young kid I was eight years old and and I won my very first race and you know you give a kid a trophy at eight years old he's he wants to go get more and so it just kind of led to one getting up the ranks one spot at a time and uh just had a great opportunity to meet the right people that helped fund this thing as as long as they did you know I I went I were a little league uh in baseball whatever the the the championship the World Series was but it doesn't mean that you're going to go on to do this professionally once I realized I couldn't hit a curveball I knew I wasn't going to find a way to go to college for baseball or even play uh in high school so it's one thing to get a trophy at such a young age but when did you realize okay hey I'm not only enjoying this but I'm pretty good at this and I could make this into a living that's a good question I mean I would probably say I mean my first although I was winning kind of in the Jor Junior League you know when I was eight years old it's still you know I had a period when I was about 10 where I'm like you know what I'm not winning as much um I'm G to try other sports and I tried other sports and baseball basketball it just wasn't good at them and so uh at 12 I went back into racing and then really when I started turn 156 was the moment where it was like okay I'm competing at every level that I've been at so far and and so I I think I finally got an opportunity in in a car that was capable of winning and I was able to win a lot and so at that point I felt like uh this was my calling Denny Hamlin here with us we've all seen the news you've been docked 75 points and 10 playoff points because of engine rules violations when that came down the other day Denny just how'd you react to it yeah it was certainly a bummer from my standpoint um you know it's it's so it's very unique I think think uh it's a situation where you know we have a manufacturer in Toyota that's been great partners of ours for 20 years they build the engines out in California and it was kind of a simple mistake on their part to send the engine to the wrong place and uh unfortunately it it got torn down and uh you know when they realized they had made a mistake they called NASCAR to try to rectify it but it was too late at that point and so um you know yeah our team's going to have some big obstacles to go over over these next uh 12 weeks or so to try to win a championship um you know it took away two races worth of wins of bonus points away from us so it was a it was a big penalty for sure and certainly something that uh I was not happy to hear that news when it came out it seems harsh if you ask me right I'm sure you would agree with that yeah I mean certainly you know knowing that you know we didn't have there was we know that there was no advantage to it it was a simple you kind of clerical error as as Toyota stated um but man it's it is a black and white Rule and it's like you know it's just they wish they could take it back they wish they could fix it but you know unfortunately uh my name my team are the ones that GNA you know have the burnt of the penalty yeah how does that impact you because I know the way that you just laid it out I know the way that it's been reported but from AF far some people will just see the the the punishment they'll be like oh Denny Hamlin you know is a cheater so like when you hear things like that how do you even respond to someone that says those things yeah I mean you just try to educate him the the most that you can and I think the toota statement kind of said it all and and them taking responsibility for it and um obviously I haven't I don't think I've ever built my own engines in the course of my career not even in go-karts but uh you know it's it you know wasn't a thing where the engine was illegal and any way shape or form it just didn't go through the inspection process that normal all race engines go through because of our system and how it set up where you you can race an engine and it can be inspected at a later time because you're going to run that engine at another race in the future so it just was um it was an oversight it was a Flatout oversight and certainly um one that uh I I I wish we could go back and fix since you didn't have a part in this how'd you find out and when did you find out that this happened or this was something that could be a possibility and a topic of conversation um I I got called into a meeting with Toyota uh they said they needed to meet with me in person I thought that that was like okay what's going on I I get in a room with jgr and you know three or four Executives from Toyota um and my crew chief and I'm just like okay this is not normal and um and I just happen to look at the iPad across from me and it says NASCAR penalty and I'm like oh man what did I do and so um they kind of laid it all out you know here's what we did here's how we messed it up it's black and white there's no kind of kind of refuting it we we tried our best to rectify it and it just it it just didn't happen and so um yeah it's it's it's a bummer because I you know this goes back to like March right and such a long time ago and so you think you know you work so hard to accumulate all these points throughout the year I mean every one point that I gain can go through the playoffs and that carries in every single round and now to have those points taken away from the regular season really and the playoffs I mean that's that's a that's a big hit for us do you still think you could win it all even with this punishment yeah I mean we can certainly we can I think as um you know if we just finish where we run every week we can win the championship it's just you know we're in a sport where things don't always go as planned right and sometimes in our sport when your opposition makes a mistake you pay the price and so if I could control my own destiny I feel pretty good about it but you just never know and the sample size certainly in these three race Seasons these brackets of Seasons that we're going to have through the playoffs you've got to you can't have one bad week and then certainly this takes away our room for error in your next race tomorrow Denny Hamlin what do you want to prove do you feel like you need to prove something with after what happened you know I think I feel it more kind of Darlington uh in the sense of you know I really feel like I can play a role in our finish there here at Daytona certainly you can uh you can execute that's that's a big part of it but I just think that you know the driver always plays a bigger role in the nons Super Speedway tracks and so I think that uh I I want to listen I want to win this weekend that's one way we can get half of those points back is just go Inn and so certainly I'm motivated to do that Denny Hamlin before we let you run here with us on behalf of FedEx cares which you talked about earlier in this conversation I saw that J nhart Jr took to Twitter and came to your defense just what did that mean to you when you saw that if you did yeah I I did I think kind of understands that you know what all happened right and he knows that you know the the race team the driver and the manufacturer all have a relationship and everyone has their own roles in that relationship and so um I I think he was a bit sympathetic for us at that moment uh you know being that it was such a long time ago and and and again something that was is very normal that happens in the sense of you don't inspect the engine right away you go to a long time down the road but um the rules is the rules and as long as NASCAR keeps going by the rules everything will work out last thing I want to ask you and I really do appreciate the time today I know through 2311 you and Michael Jordan have a relationship uh we have Dwight Frey on the show a bunch and uh Dwight Frey the former Colts player Hall of Famer is very close golf buddies with Michael Jordan how did you kind of strike up this relationship and become close with MJ it really started from me going to a Hornets game when I was a season ticket holder there in probably 200 eight or so um and then you know he he pulled me aside we had a conversation exchanged numbers and realized pretty quickly he was a Nascar fan because he watches he says every single Sunday so um it just started a friendship and the friendship turned into a partnership when he started you know saying okay I'll do I'll be the sponsor of your your suit and your shoes and things like that and um and then it slowly went into we ran a truck a Jordan brand truck uh not long ago this is probably 10 years ago or so and then uh we started a race team four years ago and and a lot of that was just my ambition to be a a car owner in NASCAR and I knew I couldn't do it without a partner so uh got my business plan together U met with them and says here's how we're going to do it here's how we're going to fund it here's how we're going to be successful and uh he said I'm in so obviously you're one of the best at what you do but Michael Jordan's the greatest basketball player of all time is that just surreal that you have this relationship with one of the more people on this planet no doubt about it I mean certainly is and you know what I love about it is you know how you know humble he is when it comes to our partnership in the race team right he really trusts me to to run it the right way and um he puts a ton of autonomy in my hands to to do it and so um that's why our team is successful as it is right off the bat um I mean they they've got a championship Contender obviously already in in Tyler reic this year so um yeah we're we're excited about the future and certainly it was my Pathway to being involved in the sport well beyond my driving days he's Denny Hamlin Denny hey good luck the rest of the year I really appreciate you joining us telling us about FedEx cares but obviously all that's credit that is not easy and I know that sometimes right we deal with this all the time in sports an infraction occurs someone gets blamed for it and it may not have been their fault and we've SE we see that a lot with the NCAA if we're being honest and you know I i' I was reading about what was happening I'm not going to sit here and pretend like I am some NASCAR expert cuz I'm not um but I was reading about it and then when I saw that the punishment came down I said to Mike I go I'd be very surprised and I I've heard Den Denny on the air countless times throughout the years especially on our Network when we CBS Sports Radio now Infinity Sports Network and he's always professional always gives a good interview interview but you know with how big of an issue this is you know I said to Mike I'd be surprised if he ends up coming on today I was not expecting him to come on and not only to come on but embrace the questions you know attack them headon give us what I thought were transparent answers I give a lot of credit to uh Denny Hamlin for joining us right there on the Zack yel show on the infinity Sports Network and uh Jeff Gluck who uh writes about NASCAR for the athletic and racing uh he put some good tweets out there explaining the whole situation if you were just tuning in you no clue what we were talking about uh Jeff says Denny Hamlin gets a crushing NASCAR L2 penalty for an engine rules violation committed by Toyota Hamlin is 75 points 10 playoff points and the crew chief uh was fined $100,000 so here was a statement from trds David Wilson as the engine builder for our partner Nascar Cup Series teams TRD is solely responsible for the handling and position of all of our engines pre- and post race despite procedures being in place Denny's race winning engine from Bristol was mistakenly returned to our Costa Messa uh facilities disassembled and rebuilt instead of being torn down and inspected by NASCAR per the rulebook although we know with absolute certainty that the engine was legal and would have passed inspection we left NASCAR in an impossible position because they were not given the opportunity to properly inspect our engine we have reviewed our processes and have implemented several additional steps to ensure that this never happened again TRD takes full responsibility for this uh mistake and we apologize to Denny Chris coach Gibbs and the entire uh jgr organization uh NASCAR and our fan so you know from my understanding and pretty much the way that that was uh ruled ruled out and laid out there you know when they went to go rebuild the engine before you do that NASCAR um has to inspect it before you tear it down and obviously uh toota was was out fa here so I think a lot of people that I talk to because I have friends that are big NASCAR fans I'm not going to pretend to be one they were like H it's kind of ridiculous what happened but a penalty has to be uh handed out and I don't think Denny was really at fault that's why I kind of asked him when he found out about this and uh he laid it out for us very eloquently right here on the show all righty uh let's take a time out we will come on back with the Nascar has to uh inspect it and that didn't happen now he made it clear that the engine uh would have been legal so uh if people want to label him a cheater I don't think that is fair and I think this is one of truly those things where people go oh how can you be the driver and how could there be a problem and you go on and on and on about that and I understand people that say that but when you actually listen and you actually hear him out and you actually hear Toyota uh respond about it as well and also Dale nhart Jr who didn't need to get involved in this getting involved in it and kind of explaining what I was saying it's just unfortunate it's bad luck for Denny but yeah you are associated with this when it's going on uh with with your engine that you are driving so I appreciate him coming on cuz a lot of people would have bailed on that spot you know he was doing a program of FedEx cares which a lot of respect for and he has a long partnership with but we've had times where we've been promised an athlete or been promised a guess and then something controversial happens and then boom all righty yeah we got to cancel you know trust me that happens more than you could imagine or the athlete comes on and pretends like nothing ever happened and doesn't want to talk about it you know I I've had that happen you know there's two instances that I could remember one obviously being Debo where ran his mouth about the Eagles and I tried to press him on it and he hung up the phone on me there wasn't any controversy there and then the other was Aaron Donald cuz we had Aaron Donald book for the Dr teals campaign you'll never forget that and uh for that campaign it was right after he was uh swinging helmets in those uh joint practices with uh I want to say it was the Bengals when it was Bengals and uh Rams and he was basically given non answers but I had to do my job and I had to ask the questions like if Denny came on and gave us one-word answers and didn't want to really have uh any part in the conversation you know you got to press him but I thought the way that he handled it was extremely uh professional and it was extremely forthcoming and as someone that has no dog in the fight here uh this is not where I have any um kind of feelings or care for what he does and I don't mean that disrespectfully but it's just you know I I have no loyalties in NASCAR you know if this was football okay you could say Zach's bias if it was basketball you could say Zach's bias it was Hockey baseball you could say Zach's bias I would I read what I read and I went into that interview thinking oh it was unfortunate for him and then after hearing the whole way that he eloquently laid it out and honestly and really thoroughly kind of walked us through loss of words and I purposely didn't want to hear this when I just read what the slug line was he's had a loss of words talking about Danel Jones so I got got in the air that sounds like that s Gardner saying oh I don't want to say he's trash I don't want to say he's bad so I'm going to say something positive but he didn't do a good sale uh sale job like it's one thing to talk for 45 seconds and you think oh he gives a 45 second answer about Daniel Jones oh it's pretty positive oh he's at a loss for words he was blown away that was oh I have to fill air time I have to try to say that Daniel Jones is good but down deep I know that he isn't good because this has been a NeverEnding conversation quite frankly I think SAU would have just been better saying hey Daniel Jones ain't a good quarterback cuz whatever he just pulled right there I it it was almost it was comical it was almost Saturday night livees where you're trying to tell me that something's good but you know that it isn't good and it felt as if it was a a comedy get there still yeah absolutely you could tell he had he didn't really have anything good to say at all he tried he tried but not really so nothing against uh sauce Garder this has nothing to do with what we're talking about right now but did you see what sauce Gardener is building in his home I don't think I did so he tweeted out he's got the the golf itch these days like recently so he said do I even have to say what I'm getting built at my new house and it's a golf simulator now that's not why I'm just bringing that up I am jealous of that but a Buffalo Bills fan responded to him you know I look at her her page kayy marakis I don't know how to say the last name but then it has a red and a blue heart and then a Buffalo Bills logo Reid on cadarius Tony we went through last year with him so we we kind of know what he is he's a talented kid and uh um you know he's in a battle to make the team and all that bit but he he's he's a you know he's we've never questioned the talent there at all so it's just him staying healthy was the main thing oh boy still s Gardner and Andy Reid are taking the the same page out of the same Playbook they really are could have made that one one single cut all he needed to say was yeah we believe in him we know what the talent is when you started off we uh dealt with him last year no buo if you ask me so this is Chuck Martin the uh head coach at Miami of Ohio he ripped my pal kayin dor for stealing uh the their kicker is that right let's listen up all right special teams lost your kicker Carter M he we didn't lose him he's at Alabama we know we know exactly where he's at like again you media people it's all pretend like no Alabama stole our kicker they legally they illegally recruited our they illegally recruited our kicker and stole him from us and like that's that's a fact but that's that's but we act like it's not we live in this la la world like hey let's not talk I don't know why everybody knows what's going on so yeah Alabama stole our kicker um couple a couple other schools tried to steal him but then think okay what's the question so I understand being a coach at a smaller school right I I attended a smaller School in terms of football so I don't think it's the worst thing in the world when you are the smaller school to kind of punch up and get yourself in the news and actually get people talking about your program but this like if you're saying Alabama did something illegally fine but I don't think Alabama really need to do much to get the kicker from Miami of Ohio to say okay I'm going to go to Alabama would you rather kick for Miami Ohio or would you rather kick for Alabama if you say Miami of Ohio maybe your father's the coach or you know a relative went to the the institution but I would say most people would rather kick for Alabama here is kayin dor on those accusations the uh Miami of Ohio coach accused you guys of camping with the recruitment of Graham Nicholson do you have a response to that uh I don't know anything about that I guess that comment um yeah I mean he entered the portal and we reached out to him so that's how it goes right so uh we did everything the way you're supposed to you know what I think this is a good beef all around still yeah so you have the coach of Miami of Ohio punching up and then Kaylin dor is like I was just in the national championship game at Washington I am now the head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide I don't need to respond to the Miami of Ohio coach like put it this way there's no way you could actually believe that's the first time kayin dor and I love kayin dor actually heard about these accusations correct no shot right yeah no shot no no way but that you you know how I take that that's him saying hey I'm the head coach of Alabama right now and good for kayb right he he was at small schools right sou Falls Fresno State all right so he knows what it's like to be little brother but that's him saying I don't really need to respond to a program that is so far beneath me and and I thought I thought that was a good response by uh coach Martin thought it was a good initial you know let's go take a a a a step up at at the Kings and then it was a good response back of yeah I'm not even going to continue to add to this because I've never heard about it before when you have definitely heard about it before there's no way that was the first time he was hearing about it all righty man this is a very entertaining news brief today here is Kirk ference on the uh suspension one game suspension for recruiting violations I told our players you know we abide by the rules and in this specific case I did not do that I made a mistake during the recruiting process I want to apologize to our players coaching staff University leadership and our incredible fans uh 26 years as a head coach this is the first potential level two violation that I've had it won't happen again so you know who the uh violation is about right still you know who the player was I I don't know it was the quarterback Kade mcam oh the M the former Michigan quarterback migan quarterback yeah has there ever been a suspension that a coach is going to have to serve that's been more of a waste in terms of the player like Kirk fence right Everyone likes him right and everyone respects him and he's been around for a long time like every a good football coach good man so you get popped at the suspension for an offensive player at a school that has no offense and it's your quarterback where your quarterback isn't good now I I forget what audio it was we played it like a week or two ago where they talked about Kade mamara and they talked about the quarterback position and and they tried to say something positive when the day was just so terrible for Cade mdamar and it was like Wow basically like he just stinks it didn't paint the a pretty picture and like if I'm Kirk fence like I violated a rule and now I'm getting suspended for it and the juice clearly wasn't worth the squeeze like hey if kid mcar was a stud you know do whatever you want you know cheat you take whatever do Cena legendary East Street Band was in Pittsburgh for less than 24 hours then got back to New York worked Tuesday then drove down to Philly on Wednesday before flying out on Thursday morning to go I went to Philly go see Bruce again to then on Thursday morning flying out to Las Vegas where we here are here now and uh from there obviously have been in Vegas Thursday and Friday and I love Vegas but as I'm in day two of being in Las Vegas I'm just like okay it's getting late and I just got to go home I really do Santa's smart s still you could save that one cuz I'll probably never say that again oh that's going to be a drop s's smart because he took the red eyee uh tonight I'm actually Ste I'm going to Carbone uh tonight with Jake asmin our buddy Jake asmin and Brad Kelner who does a great only have one for the rest of your life a burger or a steak you said a burger right still you said for if it was just one meal like if you're having a meal tonight you rather have a steak over or a burger but if it's only one for the rest of your life like you go to a restaurant you got to order either a burger or a steak anytime you go to a restaurant you're saying it's a uh you're with me that and I came to this realization last night when I was at Barry's here uh in wonderful uh circuit Resorts and casino I had their wagu burger and I was like I wasn't starving so I was like I'll have the wagu burger and it was phenomenal like my mouth is still and my lips are very dry from being here in Las Vegas and just how hot it is here and I I'm just loading up in the Chapstick but when I had that burger I walked away and I said I think it's taken me 30 years but now I if I could only have one when I go out it would be a burger over a steak and they have delicious steak at baries I've had steak uh steak at baries before the last time I was here in Las Vegas uh which which was for the Super Bowl but uh right now I'm saying if you can only have one for the rest of your life it's a burger o over a steak and you share that same belief right I do and I love steaks but I feel like burgers can be much more versatile right like you can have like you just said a wagu burger you can have a different kind of cut of burger you can have like a Smash Burger you can put different toppings on a burger I feel like steak you're kind of limited like you're not putting a bunch of different toppings on it it's just the burger is just so many more different ones you can choose from and I just feel like I have Burgers much more often so that would be very tough for me to give up have you ever had in and- out I have yes your thoughts on and out I like it a lot I think it is one of the The Better Burgers I've had I'm not going to say it's the best burger like some say it is but I think it is very very good if if it was on the East Coast I would probably have it like once every month or two yeah I I thought in and out would I only had it once and I know this is a very unpopular opinion I almost lost a job when I was working with Angelo caldi because of the this opinion but I thought In-N-Out was extremely overrated I thought it was glorified McDonald's of I'm being quite frankly my girlfriend has the exact same thoughts as you oh your girlfriend's smart she's she's 100% smart now I said to samter I go there is an In-N-Out like I think 10 to 15 minutes away I'm like should we go and maybe do content and maybe do like a Redemption story but eh next time I'll come to Las Vegas I I'll get in out I wasn't really like craving in and out just because and I animal style I ordered it correct order correctly I just did not enjoy it for the hype you hear about something how great something's going to be it's was like a movie all it's going to be the greatest movie you ever seen and an hour in you're like sleeping you're like okay there's still two hours left I want to get it out of here those are my thoughts in and out and I think I am an expert in the burger business because I know how to prepare the burgers when I did work for six or seven months out of five guys when I was in high school anyway it is Zack gel on the infinity Sports Network the update on that poll question Ste this is really close 51.1% are with us that they rather have a burger for the rest of their life compared to a stake at 48.9% all righty Stu fire up the music we're going to do a little segment here more to prove Stu's going to give me two players two coaches whatever in the NFL two NFL people and I'm going to tell you who has more to prove for this upcoming season go ahead St take it away all right who has more to prove Nick serani or Mike McCarthy ooh great question and on the surface both have exceeded expectations from when they got hired like if when Nick serani got hired if I just told you hey he'd be to the playoffs three straight years and a Super Bowl appearance you would have signed for that if I told you when Mike McCarthy got hired by the cowboys that he would take the Cowboys as three straight 12 win seasons and three straight postseason appearances you would sign for that as well but you look at McCarthy I think this is finally year in Dallas and you look at Nick serani I'm going to go with serani here just because I think there's more on the line you know I think we've all already acknowledged that McCarthy and all likelihood is not going to be back as the coach of the Dallas Cowboys serani they brought him back when they shouldn't have and he has a lot more Talent than the Dallas Cowboys the Dallas Cowboys did not have a good off season so I look at serani and I just go what does he do he's not calling the plays on the offens side the ball he doesn't have a good relationship with this quarterback right now and Jaylen Herz and this team started 10 and one and then projectile vomited down the stretch winning one lousy game so I go it's Nick serani because I have higher expectations and higher views of the Philadelphia Eagles right now than the drama Dallas choking Cowboys all right two dominant quarterbacks who have yet to reach a Super Bowl Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen I'm going to say it's Josh Allen and the reason why it's Josh Allen is because he just lost theond digs and now we remember what life was like for Josh Allen without Stefan digs I don't think anyone believes that we're going back to that those days those brief days because to me he's still the third best quarterback in the NFL and I believe Josh Allen's going to win the MVP this year but for Lamar I I was a believer that Lamar could win a Super Bowl and then Lamar had the number one seed they were dominating teams and they didn't get to a Super Bowl when they should have got to a Super Bowl and he played one good half and that was up against the Texans in the second half in a year where Kansas City wasn't even great and they still won the Super Bowl and they were in your house and you couldn't beat them so I'm not out on Lamar Jackson the player I'm just out on the idea of the Ravens winning the Super Bowl where I look at Buffalo it's like okay Allen and Diggs they their relationship deteriorated it was over now let's see how great Josh Allen is and I still believe he is a great player and I think just taking Diggs out of that locker room even though it's a loss because of the talent it's going to help the camaraderie in that locker room so I think there's more this year on Josh Allen because we just went through last year with Lamar it was like prove it prove it prove it and when it mattered the most Lamar didn't get the job done so that's why I go with Josh what about the top two picks in the NFL draft Caleb Williams or Jaden Daniels great question it's Caleb Williams though it's close but it's Caleb Williams Because Caleb Williams on the better team Caleb Williams which you wouldn't think so with be the first pick compared to the second pick even though it's probably a razor within margin but the Bears weren't a traditional first overall pick because they won seven games and they made the trade to go get Bryce young but you have romad dun you have um also DJ Moore you you got Keenan Allen you got KT you have so much on that offens side of the ball and you should be able to go win two more games this year get to 9 and8 and be a playoff team the commanders maybe if you really squint you'll say to yourself oh maybe I could see a wild card team the Bears they were expect to make the playoffs this year so there's more pressure on Caleb Williams what about the two quarterbacks in the NFC title game last year Brock pry or Jared go great question I think it's Jared goth because Jared Go Just Got Paid Brock P hasn't got paid yet Brock P was just in a Super Bowl and the year before he was in an NFC Championship game Jared go was just in the NFC championship game they blew that game now the lions are being picked on mag to to win it all and I think people realize Jared G's a good quarterback but he's getting paid great money so that money and Detroit finally having a chance to actually win their first ever Super Bowl I believe there's more to prove on Jared G that he's more than just a good quarterback he's more than just getting to a Super Bowl or multiple NFC championship games as we saw him get to a Super Bowl at the Rams and we know he got to an NFC Championship game with the Lions now it's okay can you really take the Lions to a place they've never been before and that's holding a Lombardi all right what about two quarterbacks with big contracts that had injury issues last year in DeShaun Watson or Kyler Murray that's tough because both have big contracts both haven't played a lot of football in the last few years I believe more in Kyler Murray moving forward than DeShaun Watson so there's more pressure on DeShaun Watson because his deal is fully guaranteed and also there's more Talent around him than Kyler Murray and not only that the Browns just made the playoffs this past year the Cleveland Browns with Joe flacko coming off the couch so DeShaun Watson if you're still somewhat of being all that that you used to be you got to go make the playoffs this year and you got to go kind of put up statistically performances from 2020 even though the team didn't have success because the Texans were Dreadful uh there's no more running uh there's no more places you could hide for deshaan wats you can't blame the coaching sansy he just made the playoffs last year he's a two-time Coach of the Year Award winner so there's more proof for Deshawn Watson what about two head coaches that have had a lot of regular season success but not a lot of postseason success Kyle Shanahan or Shawn McDermot that's a great one I'm going to say Shanahan and the reason why it's Shanahan and I know you could say the same thing oh the bills right maybe their window has passed them by but there's a little bit even though I think the bills could be Contender this year there's still a little bit of retooling that could take place when you lose Aon digs Kyle Shanahan has now been to the Super Bowl twice up 10 as head coach of the 49ers and couldn't slam the door shut I know it's Mahomes I know it's the Chiefs but you could only get back there and I mean like hey they' gone farther than the bills have you know with all his NFC championship games with two Super Bowl appearances you got to slam the door shut so it's on Shanahan cuz his roster I think is the best roster in the NFL all right what about two running backs who are new homes this season saquon Barkley or Derrik Henry hm I think more gets asked of Derk Henry in Baltimore than saquin in Philadelphia but Derek Henry we've already seen him have a great career where sequan Barkley it's been up and down up and down up and down on the field off the field on the field off the field so for that reason I will go with saquin Barkley all right last one two dominant pass rushers Micah Parsons or Nick Bosa that's a great question cuz Bosa has been healthy as of late Micah parsons's has been on the field a ton as we know and he's put up Elite numbers but the ners have a lot more on defense where they can manage injuries that do occur with Nick Bosa the Cowboys Micah parsons's you could make the case he's their best player and if he's not their best player then he's their second best player um when you talk about CD lamb and Dak Prescott and Micah Parson's and I would say cidd lamb I would say mic is their best player and CD Lamb's their second best player and then and you know Zack Mort and and Dak Prescott right in that conversation as well so when you when you talk about those guys but for Micah Parsons He talks a lot man I'm not saying Nick Bosa doesn't talk but with the podcast I don't have a problem with the podcast but it became an issue obviously with Malik cooker as well and and that got nasty and we saw that play out and we talked about that but for michah Parson you come on this radio show and you say TJ Watts not even a top five pure pass rusher oh you better not give any material for people to use that against you so I would say it is michah Parsons because he is more essential to the Cowboys defense compared to what Nick Bosa is to the 49ers defense just because the ners have so much more Talent on the defensive side of the ball and a more well-rounded Team all every year and when we got to Vegas for Super Bowl week and it's time to pay it off he goes meet me at bares this is where you're taking me to and you have to buy me a steak dinner so Barry's is inside Circa and the meal was absolutely phenomenal and then later in the week cuz we're here for the entirety of Super Bowl week uh I had a buddy of mine say that I had or he had a cabana at the stadium swim and I'm like Stadium swim how do I know that and I go oh it's every time you're on social media and you see people in Las Vegas watching like every game possible from the pool which is basically just like heaven for sports fans I go that's at Circa resorts in casino and obviously now uh we have a partnership here and they've invited us out here uh for the rest of the week in Las something where people would say oh Sports doesn't earn enough per square foot compared to slot machines or something like that but I always thought that if you could really focus in on sports that really Targets in sports fans where no matter where you're from you could see the game you want the team you want uh whether you stay at one of our hotels or not you're going to want to go to the best uh Sports oriented hotel casino when you come to Vegas and that's kind of what what what we kind of themed it around so that's why I was important to me when we were designing and sketching and all that let's design the world's biggest sports book so three-story sports book big screen you know did it jointly designed with dect Tronics for this big screen and then then we kicked it upstairs to Stadium swim with 143t it's crazy if you never been you got to go I was there yesterday I had dinner reservations and I'm like H I kind of want to just blow off dinner because I'm sitting out here in the sun I'm at the pool you could charge the drinks right to the room and you had all the games on it's heaven for a sports fan yeah yeah that's kind of what we Tred to do you know So for anybody that comes to Vegas if you're accustomed to stay in at one property or another you know that's fine but if you're a big sports fan you're probably going to want to stop in and visit circus so that's kind of what we tried to do the sports scene in Vegas is something that no one could ever imagine like we never thought the NHL would be here especially football uh would ever be here and I've had the the fortune of going to a a golden night game and the in stadium atmosphere it feels like you're at a casino it feels like you're at a club it's very fun it's very happening the football stadium is wonderful here to see what Vegas has become in the sports world where for years Sports organizations and leagues be like oh we can't get into bed with Las Vegas because of gambling and now obviously that's changed around the country just how do you kind of process that well you know everybody kind of thought that uh you know the NFL's position for quite a long time of like oh we want nothing to do with gambling yet yet at the same point U everybody realizes that Monday Night Football was the pay and collect day you know I mean there's a lot of reasons why gambling gambling got uh kind of helped out Monday Night Football but helped out football in general but now now this there's this this stigma over over gambling and very clearly it started changing maybe five years ago and then um you know I'd say 10 years ago but then five years ago when uh the courts overturn passed but that's when everything changed because now all of a sudden GBL became legal in more States and when that happened that's when everything changed because now all of a sudden media companies are talking about things they never used to before you would see a game this team at that team but now you see this team at that team and that team's minus 7 yeah and now that over under is 43 so now all of a sudden this stuff that was all all uh you know taboo you couldn't say anything about not now it's all right in the mainstream and it's just it's just made the popularity of of sports uh grow I think Sports gambling I obviously I'm in this business so you could say I'm biased I understand that but I do think Sports gambling is good for team owners I think it's good for leagues I think it's good for players unions I think it's good for players I think it's good for uh media how so for players just wonder well I mean let let's well because I'm going down it's good for media well I mean the rates for a television commercial watching a game as Skyrocket the rates for sponsorships you know we put we put our our Circa logo patch on the on the golden kns Jersey we're gonna have uh you know our our Circa Circa sports logo patch on the Blackhawks jersey this year so all these all these elements because of sports gambling are adding a lot more dollars of Revenue into the teams uh and then with uh with the players unions I mean a percentage of of that's going to go to players so as we've seen player contracts are all setting records every single sport so I think it's good for players union it's good for players it's great for media because you've got a number of companies whether it's a smaller company like us or DraftKings I mean they spent a lot of money on commercials they spent a lot of sponsor a lot of shows so I think that's great and I think it's great for fans because uh fan engagement is so much higher um you know I think everybody understands you got 10 bucks on a game you're going to have a little you're going to have a little more engagement you're you're going to you're going to pay attention a little bit more so I think fans really enjoy enjoy the games uh a bit more when uh when they've got a when they got a bet on the game Talking to Derek Stevens obviously the owner and CEO of circuit Resorts and casino so everyone's had like a legendary Right gambling night whether it's with your buddies on a bachelor party you're in Las Vegas and and you're checking out a casino uh whether it's hitting a bet that you placed and you're like oh I put 50 bucks down I won 800 had no clue how the heck that happened you run this entire place was there one night in particular that stands out where there there's always a buzz here but there was just like a really crazy Buzz over a big game or a big event you know I I would say um are you're talking about at Circa here yeah at Circa I would say because of our Sports orientation uh it's kind of a special feeling to be out here on a on a Sunday morning of Super Bowl um I've got my own routine down um I take about I'd say 2 and 1 half hours I have my couple assistants with me and I walk our venues um to all of our parties just to check everything out we throw um effectively like 12 Super Bowl parties of all different sizes anywhere from let's say 200 people up to uh our big one at our Event Center 12,000 people so having to go check out every food vendor every table every screen that we've got uh you know that's kind of that's kind of fun the buzz the buzz on a on a Super Bowl Sunday morning in Vegas is is unbelievable like you can just feel that energy so I yeah I love that day and then uh and then obviously uh um of the T opening day opening opening Thursday and Friday of the tournament that's just pure ridiculous fun chaos so that that's a lot that's just when we let everything fly people are betting everything I mean it's unbelievable you know the stories you hear like somebody loves Colgate somebody like what do you mean you love you never seen Co 5 years what are you talking about you know what happens it's you see all the the shows and it's like oh I got my my bracket Busters and with Seth Davis as one team and then everyone starts ended up placing those bets wrapping up with Derrik Stevens so I I want to ask you this the when when you take a a glance at Major League Baseball right now I truly don't have a feel on who's going to win the World Series is there like a team that if they get there you guys like know hey we're going to take a hit just with all the Futures that that have been placed well I I think you know I think this year um it's wide open I mean you you look at you look at a team that was kind of number one throughout the year uh that nobody feels good about Los Angeles Dodgers you know you know you can't feel good about it I mean I don't know about who's their best pitcher number one pitcher is flare they just picked them up a couple weeks ago right um you know you don't know what you're going to get with ber so it's going to go flare Kershaw and then what I you know so there's there's a lot of problems with the Dodgers they don't look that strong Yankees um they look a little bit vulnerable as well um you know you're not going in just judging soda yeah I mean you got you got judge Ando it's it's a lot of fun to watch I mean I think we would love watching the Yankee se but but you know you don't have that team that's running away it's going to have 105 wins I mean you might not have you might not have a team that wins 100 and and the teams that were were really up there are are starting to struggle a little bit so I would tell you right now the teams that uh we're kind of looking out for are the ones that I would say are in the 12 to 25 to1 range um I think um as as far as a a playoff team construction uh the team that impresses me the most right now if I had to go make a bet today I bet the San Diego Padre's to win the World Series um I think the Brewers are an interesting team just the way they've kind of put things together uh when you look at the American League um I I do like what uh what Baltimore's got got cooking and then and then uh after a very very slow start on the other side uh you know you got you got the Houston Astros so I would say those are the four team yeah they're always a threat and even maybe more so because you know they really started off uh uh slow sure and and now I would say those would be the four teams where we're starting to see the most action certainly in the last uh two weeks that's where we seen the action and you're from Detroit right yeah I'm from Detroit in or out on the Lions this year I'm in on the Lions I'm in on the Lions uh you know I think that uh you're not going to get a team that's going to win the Super Bowl that um out of the blue when they haven't made the playoffs in a long time you know NFL is a NFL there's experience means a lot and you got to you got to kind of work your way up uh made making it to the NFC championship game last year having a big lead at halftime and having a devastating second half you know I think there's an element where it's a right of passage um now you could say well the Lions have a little tougher schedule this year maybe the Lions aren't as lucky on injuries cuz they avoided a lot of big injuries last year but uh but I think it's a stepup case uh Step Up case for the team I certainly hope it is what's the action like eagles and then also the Bears cuz I think those are two teams nationally we spent a lot of time talking about and people fluctuate some days they're in then some days they're out yeah you know let me start with the Bears I i' I've been asked this question a few times here at Radio row and and um sometimes the question is which team is most overhyped I think it's kind of fair to say the team that's most overhyped the way the NFL does it and they do it they do such a great job is that um if you're on Hard Knocks they they they construct this script where you really like the team and you like the players you like Rome you like you like you like you like everything that's going on here with the Bears and uh um but at the same point um you know the Bears aren't going to win the Super Bowl this year sure and I know there's a lot of people from Chicago think it's think it's going to happen so I'd say they're the ones I think that have been pushed the most um uh that might be a bit over bought and then Philly you feel like people end in Philly or no no I mean I think I mean CU it ended so poorly last year yeah I mean but I think Philly there's a little regression the mean I think Philly Philly still still a legit legit uh legit threat and last team I'll ask you about and I called them the drama Dallas choking Cowboys but the Dallas Cowboys who we know are always in the news and are always talked about and they got crazy fans but they said they were going to be all in this off season and what their best offseason move was bringing back Ezekiel Elliott what's the betting action like on the Cowboys because I think they're going to miss the playoffs this year I think they're one of those teams that made the playoffs a year ago and miss it this upcoming season well I think uh I think uh the betting the betting world the sharps all that fall into the same category as what you're saying we've not seen any any any Dallas money at all and and you think about how many Texas people come come here we we've just not seen uh We've not seen much at all all right so before we let you run Derrick Stevens the owner and CEO of circuit just a second but two things first final pull calculations still if you could only have one for the rest of your life what are you picking a steak or a burger this is going back and forth steak was the early leader and then Burger started coming down the stretch and was taking the lead and as we get to the photo finish hopefully Maggie Gray doesn't have a problem which if it's going to be the burger the steak and however they celebrate uh a steak 51% to a burger 49% still I think and we've asked a lot of poll questions obviously and usually when we ask questions I don't think we are looking for blowouts but sometimes it happens where it's oh 90% to to 10% but 51% to 49% a steak over a burger if you're going only have one for the rest of your life that's a razor razor thin margin cuz I think a lot of people like me still right you look at stake as you know something that was a treat when you were younger and it was unbelievable and it's like oh you know fine dining experience and it's a rare occasion for like graduations and birthdays and then when you get older and older and older and older and older and not that I'm a decrepit old man but I am getting up there a little bit an eight and you end up going to a bunch of steakhous and some places are dry some places are good it's tough for a place to mess up a burger it it it really is you could overcook it there's no doubt but it's a lot easier to mess up a steak than a burger and I just think consistently if it's one for the rest of your life a burger the steak I think you get a much better Burger night in and Night Out than a steak and also you know you could eat a burger stew and you don't go to bed feeling like you just ate a 10,000lb feast you eat a steak and you get the meat sweats and you just feel even though it was great when you're eating the steak you get into your bed and you just feel so freaking heavy you really do so the steak wins out but I think it's because people usually like to think of their childhood and brings them back to their childhood and you just raise like oh it's a burger but like steak it's like oh man uh you know it it has to be a big event it has to be a big time thing unless if you were like raised as a millionaire and you just had steak uh servy each and every night so that's kind of my thoughts on the whole situation so stake ends up winning 51 to 49% and that's what I think we got there yeah I think so I just think it would be tough to like you kind of said I've had way too many burgers hundreds thousands whatever the number might be I don't even want to know what the number is but it's certainly something where I could not Envision not having a burger and again I wouldn't want to not have a steak like I do enjoy my dinners every now and then especially for big occasions but not be able to have a burger for the rest of my life that that would be a tough pill to swallow so I think I would go Burger now I just went to Fogo deow a week ago which is a Brazilian style steak house I wonder with just how much steak I ate there if I'm just like staked out and then a month from now I'm back on the steak train I think that does play a factor into it that's true especially Fogo where you're having so much in different types of Stak just doesn't stop yeah like I know you can make it stop if you if you put the card on red but that's that's on my computer it says 9:00 a.m. eastern time or 9:00 a.m. uh Pacific time I'm assuming that's 12:00 p.m. eastern time but it's because we're emanating from Las Vegas right now at cira Resorts and casino so man that's actually kind of nice Stu like if you had to wake up on a Saturday and the first college football games at 9:00 a.m. you know that's that's not incredibly early that's not terrible instead of for us it it starts at 12:00 and then you're up till midnight or 1:00 a.m. watching the last game on football Sunday would you want your football Sunday NFL World start at 9:00 a.m. yeah 9:00 a.m. 10:00 a.m. yeah oh 10: a.m. you're right because they I start at 1:00 p.m. Eastern and it would end I guess around like 8 give or take yeah uh like let's say 11:30 on the East Coast yeah so 8:30 that's so 8:30 that's not bad and you get like two two three hours to yourself after watching all that football to kind of just unwind before you go to bed and you have to get up Monday morning for work yeah it's not bad all yeah I think I'd rather wake up you know wake up and then kind of get right into the football and have a little little time after opposed to what we have on the East which is kind of a you know you get up in the morning and you got a few hours to kill and then it's your whole day and night basically before you go to bed by the way I'll confirm with you people no no that is more than fine anyway to as to ask the pros question of the day which is do I think Florida State's going to make the college football playoff I'm not picking and I love Florida State I I love Mike norell I hope DJ gal kicks the crap out of Clemson this year I would love to see that Redemption but I actually have a surprise ACC Champion I'm taking V the Virginia Tech hokis I don't think they're going to be the best team in the regular season but I think they get into the ACC Championship game and they'll win their first ever ACC Championship since 2010 and I think they're going to upset Florida State I I believe Florida State's going to have very good year but then it's will the committee put two teams in from the ACC and I was doing my 12 teams and I still have to pick between one team or the other but I'm not going to keep Florida State out of the college football playoff but that's something that could happen where yes you would think okay five teams Conference champions the five highest ranked Conference champions get in and then you have seven teams left one spot probably reserved for Notre Dame and you would anticipate the other uh six spots three would be the SEC three would be the Big 10 if the Big 12 or ACC Championship game has an upset and the team that got up you know got defeated and that was the victim of the upset has a really strong season that could take an extra spot away from either the SEC or the Big 10 and I'm just trying to figure out who I'm going to squeeze out of the SEC and the Big 10 and that's why I will not give you my 12 college football playoff teams until next week but I do have Florida State in to answer the question and I hope Florida state gets in cuz it was I understood why the committee kept them out last year and it was so unfortunate that their quarterback Jordan Travis got hurt and it's I know there's a lot of players that have changed the program since then and left the program since then but to go through that it would feel good like if I'm looking for a feel-good story feel good to see Florida State make the college football playoff this year but uh I can't wait for the college football season and week zero is here folks week zero is here even though to me that's not the official start of the college football season I'm a weird person I'm like oh it's week one next week when I go to marz's house and enjoy myself for Labor Day weekend my sister my sister actually tried to get me out of my Labor Day weekend plan still for for the first college football Saturday I said no chance and she invited like family over on that Saturday she's said go you got to stop by I'm like no I'm like it's a yearly tradition if they want to stick around until Sunday I don't care that
