Ranking EVERY Saudi PLE Main Event (WWE Tier Ranking)

in today's video we're going to be tier ranking every single Saudi Arabian premium live event main event and I'm just going to warn you ahead of time there is a lot of terrible main events that happened in Saudi Arabia but there's a couple gems in there as well and we're going to tier rank them from Hall of Fame all the way down to trash and as always don't forget to subscribe to this let's jump into it let's start things off by showing you all the different tiers of we're going to be using for this video so at the very top we do have the Hall of Fame tier these are reserved for the best of the best borderline perfect matches matches that are mustat in matches that if you've already watched before you would love to rewatch again because they're just that damn good and then we work our way down to the great matches the good matches the me and then at the very bottom we have the trash category this is reserved for the worst of the worst the metric butt ton of ass juice and spoiler alert because the early Saudi shows were just not very good there's going to be handful of matches that do land in the trash category but these are matches that you would recommend to absolutely nobody and these are matches that the only way that you would rewatch is if you were being tortured so let's start with the first ever Saudi Main Event the greatest Royal Rumble match a match where the entire premium live event was advertised around here's the thing it is on paper the biggest Royal Rumble Match ever it had a total of 50 people which kind of dwarfs the next biggest Royal Rumble of the time which was 40 people all the way back in 2011 the one that Alberto Del Rio won here's the thing just because it's the biggest in terms of numbers doesn't mean that it feels like the biggest because this really is just a glorified exhibition a taste of what the Royal Rumble Match could be because what makes the Royal Rumble Match in specific regardless of whether it's the men's or the women's is what's at stake why it matters and that is the winner gets to go to WrestleMania to be in the main event and contest for a title the winner of this got nothing they got a like what a green belt that's pretty much just memorabilia Braun strowman won this match but got nothing out of it yes Braun strowman was hot at this time people wanted to see Braun strowman win things but this really did nothing at helping Kindle the fire that Braun strowman had so that's really the biggest and really in my opinion the only problem with this Royal Rumble Match is that it didn't matter it was just a glorified exhibition and I will say the names that were in this aren't particular particularly very conducive of calling this like the biggest Royal Rumble Match ever because there was just a lot of people that would struggle to get on a regular Royal Rumble match that were just packed into this but it did have some big names it did have the Braun strowman of the world it did have Randy Orton it had Kurt Angle Daniel Bryan went on an awesome run this was a great Showcase of somebody like big Cass Chris Jericho was in this so there were names that made this something that you would want to watch but it's just missing the magic and the essence of of what a Royal Rumble Match is supposed to be so because of that I can't put this into the Hall of fam or great but as an actual just exhibition match it's actually not that bad it's not as bad as people remember it trust me there are actual terrible horrible crimes against humanity worthy matches that are much worse than this even then the more I talk about it I still don't feel that comfortable to put it into the good category because it's just not what a royal Rumble Match is supposed to be I am going to put it not trash I am going to put it into the me category but it's not anywhere near as bad as what we're about to look at all right strap in because now we're going to be talking about the Brothers of Destruction versus Degeneration X that being the Undertaker and Kane that at this point are very well past their primes and then Triple H and Shawn Michaels a Triple H that hadn't been wrestling for a while that's also well past his Prime and a Shawn Michaels that had been retired for 10 years at this point why I get it I understand that DX is a big name and at this time it almost seemed like it was the Saudi government that was booking the matches they were just putting on matches that they wanted to see matches from the past matches that would give them that feeling of nostalgia Without Really realizing that the matches that they want from the past are now [ __ ] now and I feel like that's what happened here with Brothers of Destruction versus DX somebody you know in the planning of this said hey the Saud people want to see DX reunite and the rest of the world's like no don't do this you're going to tarnish the legacy of Shawn Michaels amazing retirement because that's another reason why so many people hate on this match Shawn Michaels had the perfect retirement and to be fair I probably don't blame him for coming out of retirement because he probably got paid a hefty Hefty fee to come out of retirement for this match but what we got was what a lot of people think is just a bunch of geriatric break dancing just old guys that were just shell of themselves did they have their Aura because it is the names that we talked about Kane the Undertaker DX sure in their entrances but then when we actually got into the ring it was just a mess people were getting injured things were miscued things were bot it was just not very good this one is a crime I hate that this match exists with such a burning passion I have to put this in the trash category if there was something below trash I would consider putting it there it can't get worse right sweet summer child you absolute buffoon it absolutely can because now we're going to be looking at the Undertaker versus Goldberg a match that was advertised as the first time ever when it really should have been please never do this ever once again I'll go back to the point where it feels like it was somebody within the Saudi team that was making and fantasy booking these matches that would have been mustat would have been mindblowing in the 2000s in the ruthless aggression era or in the Attitude Era and thinking that you know we could still get that magic in 2019 2020 no no you can't you can't beat father time not even the Undertaker can beat father time and you'd think that after the bad performance in the Brothers of Destruction versus DX match that they would have learned their lesson Unfortunately they did not and they book The Undertaker versus Goldberg a guy that again well pastes Prime in the Undertaker super respected loved the Undertaker but this is just not him versus a pastest prime Goldberg who already even in his prime wasn't a particularly great worker and really relied on that like Aura of being Unstoppable and just something that isn't there when you're in your 50s I'm sorry this might be the worst match ever to come out of Saudi Arabia it genuinely might be this goes into the trash category poor Undertaker and Goldberg I'm just glad they made it out of that match alive because both of them were just were were just being put in so many precarious positions Goldberg getting himself concussed and nearly like shattering the top of his skull because he went for a spear on the Undertaker and hit like just the straight up post like that metal bar that the that the ring has and then trying to still go through the mats to try and Jackhammer The Undertaker and making the Undertaker land on his head like it's just an absolute mess I hate it it's one of those matches where I'm just glad it ended and nobody had like career altering or life altering injuries and of course who could forget the Everlasting classic that was Brock Lesnar versus Cain Velasquez a match that they made and in the process of making this match sacrific poor Kofi Kingston's WWE Championship run luckily neither of those matches were the main event instead we got what I think was a bit of a I'm sorry everybody for what we had done earlier at Helen aell they gave us Seth fren Rollins versus the fiend Bray Wyatt in a false count anywhere match for the WWE un uh Universal Championship it wasn't Undisputed at the time and they added the stipulation that the match couldn't be stopped for any reason which is crazy that they had to add that to a false count anywhere match cuz that was already understood to be the case but they had to add it because they stopped Hell in a Cell match a match that's typically advertised as a match that wouldn't be stopped for any case what was cool about this if you kind of go back into the history books is that this was the crowning of the fiend as the WWE Universal Champion I don't think that he ever needed to be Universal Champion I actually think that this was really bad for the character of the fiend but you know he got crowned which is cool for Bray Wyatt and they did it on Halloween October 31 which is pretty neat I think my one problem with this match is that they just kept reverting to a style of match that like clearly people didn't like when they did it the first time at Helen a cell which was just Seth Rollins hitting stomp after stomp after stomp after Stomp and I do get it I feel like they're trying to put over the fiend as this guy that cannot be held down for any reason whatsoever but I think like it does two things one it makes Seth rollins' stomp look weak in my opinion and two I feel like it does a diservice for the type of match that two great workers like Bray Wyatt and Seth Rollins could have had because we've seen them in their days of The Shield versus The Wy family have fantastic matches and instead of actually putting on a match that had some creative choreography and some good storytelling they went with they went with the low is hanging through which was just finisher finisher finisher finisher finisher finisher finisher finisher but look it's nowhere look I will I don't think it's good I don't think that is good but I will be damned I will die on this hill that I will never put this match alongside Brothers of Destruction versus DX and The Undertaker versus Goldberg I could never do that let's get back into it next we have the FEI oh no why why the fiend Bray Why going in as the Universal champion and defending against Goldberg no what dude I feel like that guy in the future you know an Interstellar you know banging at the wall banging at the closet like why stop stop like I just don't want this to happen I want a time traveler to go back and time slap Vince McMahon across his stupid ugly face and stop this match from ever happening this match was 3 minutes three godamn minutes and I get it that is kind of the bread and butter for Goldberg matches cuz he can't really go longer than 3 minutes in the ring but it just didn't make any sense think about what we just talked about Goldberg beat Bray Wyatt with a couple Spears and a jackhammer that's how he beat him how did he win the championship in the first place by swallowing like eight stumps how is he able to all of a sudden go from being able to beat a guy that hit him with eight of his finishers to losing to a guy that hit him with just a couple in 3 minutes it doesn't make any sense it was such flip-floppy booking for the fiend Bray Wyatt and I think the problem kind of started by giving him the championship in the first place cuz he it's just a character that doesn't really need to go after materialistic things but then like why take the championship off of him in such a just brutal disgusting manner the fiend never recovered from this I I really firmly believe that like there was that Magic that was brought back at WrestleMania 36 with a firefly funh house but this was nearly the killing blow for the fiend as a character this this is arguably a top five or top 10 watchmojo.com worst booking decisions in the history of the WWE the match was lazy the result was dumb it hurt Bray Wyatt it made everyone hate Goldberg who was this baby face allegedly this is yet another folks trash category Contender right there fellas look at that Trifecta of just trash matches it's just so bad folks from here on out not only do the Saudi shows get significantly better but so do the main events and that is such a nice thing to see considering just the stretch of just terrible matches we just talked about let's talk about Roman Reigns versus Brock Lesnar and you might be groaning like oh my God Brock Lesnar versus Roman Reigns this was actually a really big deal this was a Brock Lesnar that had just come back to confront Roman Reigns after the Roman Reigns versus John Cena event at SummerSlam 2021 Not only was Brock Lesnar coming back from a Hiatus this is now a babyfaced Brock Lesnar going up against a now healed tribal Chief Roman Reigns so even though we'd seen this a ton of times already the Dynamics were entirely different and the story going into this was fantastic as well the story was who is Paul hayon aligned with which is a great question to ask all the way back then when hymon and Lesnar never really separated on bad terms and it just so happened that Brock was back Brock wanted to be with Haymon Haymon was conflicted Roman Reigns was angry with his wise man that he even had to think about it the storyline was really good and I do believe that it was the storyline that carried this match because it is a kind of formulaic Brock Lesnar versus Roman Reigns match but because the Dynamics are different the fact that there's a cool referee bump in this yes we do have the Usos getting involved one more time but look back then it wasn't as you know as routine as it was throughout the latter run of Roman Reigns's Championship run but the match was hard-hitting had a bunch of big moves had the big moment with Paul Heyman throwing the title into the middle of the ring and leaving fans both in the arena and at home wondering who did he throw that title to was it to Roman or was it to Brock Lesnar ultimately ended up being with Haymon the wise man siding with his tribal Chief Roman Reigns I think the storytelling of this match is actually really good I love that it didn't overstay its welcome with only being about 11 to 12 minutes I actually think that this is actually a pretty good match now we're going to talk about the men's Elimination Chamber match which was the main event of the elimination chamber premium live event in Saudi Arabia in 2022 the last time that we had a gimmick match be the main event of a pay-per-view and also having be the Nam sick was the greatest Royal Rumble which as we talked about lacked those Stakes that actually like made it matter this actually had Stakes because it was for the WWE championship and it meant that whoever won this was going to go into WrestleMania as the presumed Champion the men involved in this too were were great we had an Austin Theory who really did look like the next guy up at the time AJ Styles who's amazing Bobby Lashley didn't get to make it into the match because of a pretty peculiar booking decision to have him be protected before the match even started he got injured before the match so he didn't even get to go in the match to defend his own Championship it was bizarre Brock Lesnar was in this match and so was riddle as well as Seth Rollins so pretty star studded lineup minus of course Bobby Lashley the match itself is actually really good it's a really good men's Elimination Chamber match unfortunately it's only good for about like 90% of it because Brock Lesnar is the final entrant all right and as the final entrance he is the freshest entrance but they just fed the entirety of the men's Main Event scene to Brock Lesnar as he literally eliminated every single one of the competitors it wasn't like anyone got an elimination on someone the only man the only person that came out looking strong in this was Brock Lesnar that's it and that's all everyone else in the match looked really good like I said it was a really entertaining uh men's Elimination Chamber match but then the entirety of the booking was just revolved around let's make Brock Lesnar look strong who everybody already believed that Brock Lesnar was strong you want to hear the dumbest part as to why this might be the most aseni book looking decision that I've seen in recent memory from the WWE Brock Lesnar won and became the WWE Champion congratulations well done you want to know what happened three weeks earlier Bobby Lashley took the title that very same title off of Brock Lesnar and two hours later Brock Lesnar would enter the Royal Rumble win the [ __ ] Royal Rumble and then go off to WrestleMania to face whatever champion of his choice so he already had a WrestleMania Main Event book for him and then they just decided to give him the championship before WrestleMania to make this a title unification a title unification that clearly WWE ended up regretting considering they created an entire new title to offset the problem that started here I don't often only let booking decisions make my decision because again the match was actually pretty good it's just that like the most important part of the match like the finishing sequence was so grown inducing to see Brock Lesnar what let me let me make this clear Maul destroy the entirety of the men's Main Event scene at this point there's no Cody rhods at this at this moment in time either this is the main event scene except with the exception of Roman Reigns I have to put this in me even though I like the in ring action of this match next we have the crazy match that doesn't seem like it's real it's Roman Reigns versus Logan Paul for the WWE Undisputed championship at Crown Jewel 2022 we talked about part of the problem with the greatest Royal Rumble feeling like it was just a glorified exhibition match earlier and I have to say that that was kind of the same feeling going into this match because not a single soul on this planet believe that Logan Paul had any sort of chance of defeating Roman Reigns the WWE also went with a bit of a peculiar route to make Logan Paul a guy that a lot of people just universally did not like or wanted too and they made him the baby face in this match so there was a bit of a weird dynamic in the buildup of this where people wanted Roman to destroy Logan Paul as the baby face here's the thing the actual end result was a tremendous amount of fun this was to me perhaps the first truly great Saudi match that we've had up until this point I kind of forgot about the notion of like Logan having no chance of winning Because the actual match itself completely took me out of that realm of belief and what I had got instead was just a really truly enjoyable main event Roman looked amazing I think that this is the match where everybody came out saying holy [ __ ] like Logan Paul's like really really goddamn good at this and I love the overbook mess because it had the Usos coming out it had Jake Paul coming out to its everyday bro with the Disney Channel flow 5 mil on YouTube in 6 months never done before I unfortunately know a lot of the lyrics to that song I like the the overbooked mess nature of it because it didn't entirely take away from the fact that the match as an in ring Affair was actually really good good I have to give like 90% of the credit to Roman Reigns in this match because yeah the match physically was fun but what made this match what I think go into the great category is the fact that Roman is carrying the psychology of this match I loved when he had Logan Paul in in a headlock and he's calling out other YouTubers Mr Beast you're just a YouTuber you can't do anything whatever YouTuber wants some can come get some this was a masterful performance from uh from Roman Reigns in a really really fun ring performance to boot from Logan Paul I have to put this into the great category Night of Champions 2023 the Undisputed tag titles are on the line it is Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn taking on the bloodline but not the Usos because Roman Reigns said the Usos they brought shame that they weren't allowed to go after tag team gold instead it was Roman Reigns and solo seoa and I'm just going to be quick with this one this match [ __ ] rules this match is truly amazing this to me is like the Pinnacle of how good the bloodline storyline was in 2023 we just weree off the back of the Sami Zayn turn the elimination chamber Mania 39 uh then we had this storyline followed by bloodline Civil War then it's going to be uh tribal combat oo like this stretch was so good for the bloodline narrative and we knew that this match was going to be good because the tag match with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn who had just won the titles at WrestleMania 39 from the Usos was arguably the best match of the entire year I don't think that this particular match reached those Heights and reached those levels in terms of like actual work rate in the ring but I think that it was arguably better than the Mania match in terms of Storytelling and narrative I was hooked from beginning to end with the story that they were telling culminating all the way to the Usos turning their back on Roman Reigns and Jimmy superkicking Roman Reigns setting up the victory for for the Champions Kevin ow WIS and Sami Zayn it was truly [ __ ] Majestic the match was amazing the storyline within the match was genuine Perfection I'm putting this into the Hall of Fame next up we have La Knight versus Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel 2023 I don't think that this is quite the levels of exhibition feeling as the Logan Paul match or as the greatest Royal Rumble match but to a degree once again no one was believing that La Knight had a chance against Roman Reigns La Knight was super over he got the John Cena rub in the earlier months leading into this but I still feel like this was too early and too big of a jump for Alli night when he should have been going for the United States Championship something that they ended up rectifying cuz he's the current United States Champion as of the making of this video but because there was no doubt in my mind that La Knight just wasn't going to be the guy to Dethrone Roman Reigns it did kind of take away the drama of this match in taboot I don't think that this match was like an in ring classic either it was a pretty standard rudimentary kind of walking through the paces Roman Reigns match if you ask me and it's not as if La Knight is this like super great technician to help elevated from an in ring perspective either in terms of drama it was drama that at this point we'd already seen a lot with Jimmy coming out getting himself involved in the match and helping Roman Reigns pick up the victory but overall like I was kind of unimpressed by this but at least the leadup to the match like the story line being told is a different story like it was really fun to see uh Roman Reigns and La Knight go at it together on the mic like it it was a fun build but in terms of the match it's mad to me and last but not least we have the main event of King and Queen of the Ring that being Cody rhods versus Logan Paul and here's the thing this just doesn't have the same magic that Roman Reigns versus Logan Paul had I think it's because at this point Cody rhods hasn't even come close to reaching those levels of excitement of a Roman Reigns match and on top of that the cat was already kind of out of the bag at this point that we knew Logan Paul was a really really good worker so he didn't really catch us by surprise like he did in the Roman Reigns Logan Paul match I think part of the problem with this match is that it kind of got dwarfed by how good Randy Orton versus Gunther was in the finals of the King of the Ring a match that in my opinion should have been the main event instead of this and I know that one of the complaints that a lot of people have about Cody's run at this point in and I still think to now is that he hasn't really been in a feud aside from perhaps the solo seoa Feud where it didn't feel like filler because it just sort of seems like the major points of his championship Reign have to run through the bloodline whether it's Solo or Roman again or of course the final bus The Rock So this didn't really have a lot of drama behind it but I think the match was good overall I'm going to put this into the good category all right folks this is what the list looks like let me know what you think but that's it I'm done get out of here
