Sundays with Serby: Brady Quinn answers this season's hottest college football questions

this week on Sundays with serby we're going to talk about college football as this past week New York Post sports columnist Steve serby caught up with former quarterback and fox college football some hey what do you mean by that never hey you you're the one who said it I'm just agreeing just agreeing well let's talk about some college football and Steve Brady Quinn in his Q&A with you he had a lot to say about Georgia being the team to beat this year what insights did he share with you about the pressure that com comes with being the top team and how Kirby Smart's leadership plays into maintaining that status well Kirby Smart uh won the national title in 2021 and 2022 he is the best coach in college football now that Nick sabbin has taken his talents to television um Kirby Smart uh knows how to win knows how to build a program uh and has arguably the best quarterback in college football and Carson Beck who he believes who Mr Brady Quinn believes could be the first overall pick in the NFL draft the complete package and he's not a transfer quarterback these other schools that are going to be chasing down Georgia namely Ohio state with Will Howard and Oregon with Dylan Gabriel are transfer quarterbacks now in the conference itself Brady Quinn sees Alabama as a Potential Threat to Georgia with Alabama's Elite defense but he wonders how jayen milro the Dual threat uh quarterback will function in a dor offense um and that's a good question uh because he'll be sitting in the pocket a lot more chucking the ball under coach dor but again coach smart Kirby Smart his record over the last several years 42 and two so when you've got a coach like that and a quarterback like that no wonder why people including Brady Quinn thinks Georgia is the team to beat all right it's got Georgia as the team to beat they are the favorites to win the national championship right now and Brady Quinn He also mentioned Ohio State as a strong Contender for the national championship largely due to their defense and then the talent that they're returning this year he also spoke on the potential threats to the Buckeyes within the Big 10 like Oregon and also Penn State what did Brady reveal to you about the mental and physical preparation required for these teams Penn State and Oregon to challenge OSU um well Oregon has the talent he believes to match up with Ohio State and Penn State has a quarterback a big quarterback Drew Aller who reminds him of Big Ben rothberger Penn State also has a new cre creative offensive coordinator in Andy celnik I think I pronounced that right and a new defensive coordinator in Tom Allen who has moved Abdul Carter to an edge position where he can wreak havoc havoc and maybe be a double digit sacker um but Ohio State now has Chip Kelly as its offensive coordinator and Brady Quinn notes that Chip Kelly loves two tight end sets loves to run the football he said if oh state is running the football and is successful at running it they will continue to run it until you until you show you can stop it now the old Bugaboo about Ohio State and Ryan day was finesse they're a finesse team Michigan would bully them but now this is a very physical Ohio State team and that's why they are the team to beat in the Big 10 now Brady Quinn also says in his opinion there are nine or 10 teams in this expanded playoff field that could win it all with Georgia of course at the top and uh Ohio State and Penn State and Oregon are three of those other teams all right got nine to 10 teams that could win it all this year we'll see how it is remember this season college football play playoff will have 12 teams so a new format this year should be an excited one check out like the format you like the format you know what's funny initially I didn't I was hoping they had it at eight and not 12 at first I thought there was too many teams but I I've come around to it and I'm excited to see some teams that normally wouldn't get to play in the postseason will get to play and I think it's good to have bowls that mean something because most of these bowls don't mean anything at all whatsoever so yeah I like Brady Quinn yeah Brady quinnn would like 16 he'd love to see even be more inclusive than than 12 I can't blame him I I'd love to see that too but you know the most fascinating part M of of my Q&A with him how many people do you know actually keep notes and keep a booklet on chicken farm only person I know who loves chicken parm is our fellow colleague Jake Brown he loves chicken parm like nobody else I do not think he has a book that he keeps notes on so I have to ask him I'm not sure he does but I don't know well I asked yeah no I asked uh Brady Quinn what his top chicken parm recommendation is and he me he told me austeria Aqua e Farina in Fort Lauderdale but get it with vodka sauce not marinara sauce but vodka sauce not marinara sauce okay so Brady Quinn a man who knows about playing in NFL knows about playing the college football game obviously and now analyst for Fox Sports he also knows a little bit about chicken parm as well too have you tried that chicken parm Steve I have not tried it of course at Fort Lauderdale but you know me I as you well know I love Parks sides Chen I love everything at Parkside in Corona is great elos in Manhattan primola in Manhattan Vincent's Clam Bar and carplace Long Island you can't go wrong with any of those places matter of fact I'm going to be getting out of here and getting some chicken parm very shortly I think yeah what what a shock what an absolute shock the only thing is hey if you're going out you're going to look at sty as you do for I believe this is the fourth week in a row just make sure you don't get any uh sauce on that jacket we don't want that to happen just make sure that doesn't happen Okay no and hopefully there'll be a new jacket next week yeah we will see or maybe you'll be doing it from uh the store you mentioned before that is
