Sonos App How to with Niles System

hi Chris this is Brooke with Kingsley Tech welcome to your new Sonos account and system there's a few things that get you set up that we need to go over first open up your Sonos 2 app this is an app that looks like uh this the orange Sonos app so you want to make sure that you have that downloaded next you'll want to log into your account if you already have an account that's great we can just go over setting up your streaming services so first thing you want to do to set up a streaming service is go down to the bottom corner and click on the cogwheel for settings the next thing you'll want to do is click on Services invoice then at the bottom we're going to add a service and as you can see you have multiple choices to add accounts or Services streaming services that you already have let's take for example Apple music I'm going to click on add to Sonos and I'm already a member so I'll click that and that's just going to walk you through logging in with your Apple ID or whatever account login that you have for each individual service this short video will show you how to play music from your Sonos to individual speakers which you have two of those being the reception room and the family room or to the whole home which runs still through the Nile system so the first thing you'll want to do is open up your Sonos app there are a few ways to do this it's really a personal preference I like to click down here on the bottom where it says family room no music selected and then click over here on the bottom right which gives me the option of where I want the music to come out of now I like to do this first because if I just started to play music or if I selected any music it's going to play on the last place that it played before and that might be jarring to somebody who's maybe in an office and didn't expect music to come up so once I'm here I want to select the rooms that I want the music to play Now everywhere is actually everywhere that means when you click the everywhere button it will play on the family room reception room and the Nile system we decided to group all of the speakers together and say whole house because you're used to that the everywhere is assonos default so it's always going to stay there so either one of these two top options will give you music throughout the whole house so let's just click on whole house as you can see it's selected the family room the Nile system and the reception room I'm going to click done now I'm going to go over to music and we're gonna just pick some music once you have music playing click on the box to get to volume control as you can see there's music playing in the background now here's the volume control and you can see that we have the group volume so we can raise all the volume all around the house or we can raise individual volumes as you can see now the Nile system controls every other speaker again except for the reception room and the family room so how to adjust the volume on every other speaker except for the family room and the reception room is still through the Nile system unless we want to upgrade to all Sonos amps and I will splice this video and show you how to do that all right so how you would want to adjust the individual volumes of any other speakers other than the reception room and family room or first floor kitchen here's how to do that come up to your Niles controller click on Sonos then click this button here which you would have also clicked to get the screen to pop up now we're going to click Zone setting and you can see here's office and now I can control the office volume for the music so if we wanted the Sonos to play everywhere at the same volume controlled by the Sonos app we would have each Zone at its full volume which is limited to 90 percent here so let's try that again so once again we click on Sonos we'll click here I'm going to go to Zone setting I'm going to go page up because there's more and I'm going to say dining room and it goes back to Sonos if it doesn't so now as you can see I'm changing the dining room volume so for instance if I clicked on everywhere speakers or whole home speakers on the Sonos app and all of these were set to 90 or their full volume that means that the volume is only controlled within the Sonos app itself so here's an example if I want did not want the office to have music in it while I was playing to the whole home I would need to come up to the control panel click on Sonos click the middle button here go against his own setting and remember that you have two pages so here's the office and now I'm going to turn the office all the way down so this will individually control the office volume so no music will play through the office even though I am playing two everywhere okay hope that was clear and hope that helped out foreign [Music]
