watching the Highlight Zone with Wayne 15 Sports director Glenn Marini local sports coverage you can count [Music] on just put on a show show everybody what we're about to put on just show the city what what's coming for him I'm really excited to see different type of football that they're going to play SOA City what we did last year we could do it again it'll definitely be a challenge but it'll be good for us it's a big game for us and I I'm sure it's a big game for them as well they're ready to to play for something and get a chance to hit somebody else oh yeah we are back and we're back in a big time way not only does the 2024 High School football season get rolling tonight but this fall marking the 30th anniversary of our show the Highlight Zone over three decades we've brought Friday Night Lights to your living room as Fort Wayne's number one sports show and this season hey it's going to be no exception we've got 20 games to get to here in week one and no better place to start than with Josh aan and your Highlight Zone game of the week Josh no uh no kidding Glenn we'll call it a delightful dozen last year the nights winning their 12 State titling program history by bringing home a two-way State Crown now this fall they're actually going to make the jump up to class 3A so a week one Showdown against a Leo program that Mak a semi-state lter and 4ay pretty good barometer for both sides Leo at lures your highlight Z own game of the week to lwis F we go the knights are ready to rock pun fully intended right there meanwhile Leo led by Miami Hurricanes commit two-way star Brock shot and you can't write a better start than this if you're the Lions first drive of the game that is Grayson a scare a new QB to a veteran in Landon Hepner and the Army commit marching in for a touchdown as Leo takes an early seven nothing lead but oh baby we are just getting started Leo with that lead 7 nothing heading into the second half and what a way for lures to kick off half number two then by The Freshman TJ erson High stepping his way into the end zone listen to that student section folks he's a freshman and Leo rather lures ties the game at seven a piece but Leo next series like that new Sabrina Carpenter album that just dropped short and sweet that is Nate Foster answering back with a touchdown Leo taking a 13 to7 lead but the knights have an answer right back and his name is darer Williams and Williams willing his way into the end zone 21 yards as lures takes their first lead 14-13 but this game coming down to the final minutes fourth quarter Leo chasing a touchdown down 17-13 and how about ja Keller folks former Bishop Lord Knight turned Leo lion putting the lions in front for good as Leo able to close the door from there and turn out the light winning 20- 17 coming out we were very um aggressive and really it's about uh teamwork and my boys nothing without them you know and we've been grinding all all season so we're about to get ready for the next one many people think that we F fell off because we lost a lot of seniors but we have Juniors sophomores and some freshman ready to just step up and take their spots that was a great High School football game and we were lucky to come out on top you know sometimes those games go either way and we've been on the other end of those games and uh just happy to get out of here with a win Leo's out in Goan next Friday while lures hits the road to face New Haven
