GMFB | LB Joe Andreessen shares honest opinion on Josh Allen being voted most overrated QB in NFL

what a moment that's a Lancaster High School in Western New York who is the high school allam moer of the guy we're about to talk to has become one of the coolest one of the most positive one most uplifting stories in all of the NFL we got him here he is Joe andrees AKA Joe what's up Joe Buffalo Joe go ah we're doing so great we're all over the country excited to talk to you there at the bills facility the team that you are now a member of Joe so just quickly you're a guy from Western New York we saw Lancaster High School you end up University of Buffalo a Bills fan your whole life you get invited to bills Camp as an undrafted guy you make the final 53 you're a member of the team can you just bring us into your world Joe what has this journey been like for you man yeah um the past couple weeks have been absolutely crazy no doubt um but the journey leading up to this has been um a lot of sacrificing lot of hard work and you know kind of jumped on the scene I guess for bills Mafia and everything like that um over the past couple weeks but uh you know I've been working for this a long time and I'm just super grateful um that God has put me in this position and I'm here finally made it the NFL it's been a lifelong dream of mine so hopefully just want to keep riding it it's funny we've heard so many players refer to the bills Mafia and their love for them how Mutual it is very rarely can that player say say that they used to or are still part of it Joe we've been looking at this photograph of you in a parking lot outside of Bill's game not as a six-year-old but just a couple of years ago that is you in the parking lot wearing a Matt Milano Jersey the player who was injured playing your same position who you're now in essence really stepping up to help the team replace can you just tell us about this moment the young lady what you were going through that day and and what it's like to be on the team that was your favorite team growing up yeah so that picture was three seasons ago I want to say now um and that's when I around the time I started dating my girlfriend uh Fabby Fabiana and that was our first time visiting Buffalo and so it was kind of like during our winter break during college and you know I mean if you're bringing someone to Buffalo you have to take him to a Bills game so kind of gave her the whole experience um we we are tail G here in the grass slot that's where all my friends tailgate and yeah we I I believe they played the Jets this this day and we had some pretty good seats and it was a fun time and um she had a great time and yeah you know I love going to bills games I've been going to I usually try to hit I don't have season tickets or anything but I usually try to hit like one or two a year um the past couple years with football it's usually like one of the December games so it's always snowing and the snowing games are like always the best tailgates and everything like that just because that's kind of when you know you throw all the gear on and that's when people start getting pretty crazy in the tailgate Lots yeah you grew up classically trained amongst a family that knows the tailgating L Lots well can handle the grass parking lot to the field that transition your friends and family how are they handling this because we know a lot of the attention is on you you got a lot of the spot right right now we're talking to you on gmfb but your family your mom your dad whoever calls you up and you says Hey Joe what's this guy like who's that player that they ask you most about and what's this been like for them um so over the offseason during OTAs when I like first joined the team the first person everyone asked me um if I went out and saw my friends they'd ask me about Josh Allen that's kind of a given like have you met Josh yet and I'm like yeah like I've met Josh like he's my teammate now and all that um but as as far as my uh F like my family goes um you know I told like my parents and all all them ask about every player and they want to know the lowdown and like about everyone so um yeah it's yeah it's been exciting to tell them I think their their life might be a little bit more crazy than mine because I'm in the facility all day I'm working and they're like the ones that uh have to deal with all the the outside stuff so you mentioned at the top you know all the sacrifice that's gone into getting yourself in this position this is not like a common Journey to the NFL you play college ball at Bryant University you spend your senior year at the University of Buffalo you have injuries along the way you have a rookie Camp try out at what point along the way did you think that there was really any chance that this dream would actually become a reality oh um yeah I think it kind of feels like my whole life it's kind of been like I've been just barely slid by if that makes sense so out of high school um I got the Bryant offer that was my only offer out of high school I got that offer two weeks before the signing day in um February um so I committed there went there and um even when I entered the transfer portal and went to UB UB was my only offer so again kind of like slid into the FBS and then obviously the draft and everything happens we're thinking good things obviously we thought I would be signed after the draft um ended and that didn't happen but I got the invites I was fortunate enough to um get the invite and then perform how I did um thankful for that and so slid on to the 90 man roster and um yeah I think um the rest is just history just worked hard for this yeah man that's so cool bro all right so you're you're gonna be making a lot of money dog like a lot of money now are you have you figured out where you going to stay where you staying you staying at the family crib or you you got your own spot now yeah I'm staying at the family crib for um at least this season definitely this season staying at the family crib my girlfriend still plays volleyball at Brown University actually so she's got one more season to finish up and um maybe after she's done then I think about getting my own spot but right now I'm at the family creb man if I if I could give you any advice man stay there as long as you can man that's what everyone keep chips man stack them chips you know your parents you know they go They're G to love that I gotta ask tell the people for those of th you know those people out there who who are not familiar what are the the the uh the B what are they getting in you as a player uh yeah I think just a high effort player um you know I think for a long time I want to be a three down linebacker someone that is good against hopp in the Run obviously but also good in playing coverage and you know I'm gonna try and find the ball be around the ball try and make plays on the ball and um yeah yeah I think it's important that everybody understands that Joe did not make the team because he's from Buffalo that's just a part of the story it's fun he made the team because he's a sideline to sideline Maniac who can knock people out when he needs to and Joe you're a great player but I I have a couple other important questions so you mentioned Josh Josh has said that the first time he wants to break a table will be at a Super Bowl Parade if and when you guys get there but Josh's from California he didn't grow up Mafia he didn't grow up like you did can we bring back the picture of you in the parking lot because it's such a sweet wholesome picture of you and Fabby but we know those parking lots get pretty wild Joe what else was going on this day and I want to put you on the spot have you ever broken a table as part of the mafia to be honest no I I haven't a lot of my friends I've seen it happen I've seen um people like jump off buses in the tables and oh my like I said when it starts snowing out that's when the tailgate starts get getting crazy um but yeah I've seen a lot of crazy stuff happen at at Bill's tail Gates um that day uh that specific day I can't tell you specifically what happened it's just kind of all jumbled now from all the games I've been to I bet man and I bet we can just fill in the blanks as best as we can Joe it's incredible that you're here and I mean that on our show I mean they're in that facility and wearing that logo it's really cool we're really happy for you I guess the last question could be that your dreams are coming true if you could go back to that parking lot and that tailgate and say to that younger version of yourself couple years from now you're going to be playing in that Stadium you're going to be playing with Josh Allen you're going to be having that uniform on as a member of the Buffalo Bills what do you think you would say um to be honest I just say God is good and you know don't lose sight of the the bigger picture you know I've had a ton of times just like human nature get down on myself think um things aren't going right for me but you know God works mysterious ways just to have the Faith to keep pushing forward and um know it's going to work out one way or the other and that's kind of what I've told myself for a while obviously I wanted it always to be football but if it wasn't football I knew that it would work out in a different way in my life and um I think people that are able to do the right thing um time in time out uh people that work hard um I think it's funny how things always tend to work out for them so that just been my mindset that's why I would tell him um those years ago on the T they just keep keep working you know it's gonna work out amen Amen to that man thank you so much for coming on and I think it's funny I guarantee over the past couple of weeks Josh Allen's
