Intro [Music] [Music] it's a busy day here on fantasy football today presented by bet MGM I'm Jamie Eisenberg that teith Cummings that Dan schneer got a lot to cover some injury news a Thursday night football game to preview some roster Trends to get to from the moves you made on Tuesday night and tell you the moves you're going to be making on Wednesday night Dan schne is going to give some stats that are going to be important to you and of course going to answer all of your questions from X and Twitter please send them to us using the hash ask fft all right guys let's get to it with some of the news that we're looking at here for week number two and a big story is Christian mcaffrey who did not play in Christian McCaffrey Latest week one against the Jets most likely going to be out in week two against the Minnesota Vikings Kyle shanan saying he's day to-day with the calf the Achilles it's still bothering him they won the game against the Jets they probably feel like they can beat the Vikings without him based on Jordan Mason how he's performed you never want to have that kind of confidence but they have a pretty good running back there to replace mcaffry with so Heath when we're looking at this from the mcaffrey standpoint is it just plug andplay with Jordan Mason how panicked are you if you're a mcaffry owner and how good can Mason be against the Vikings well I don't know that there's too much to panic as a mcaffrey owner like you missed last week you're probably going to miss week two and then we think he's going to be okay and you hope he just stays okay as for Jordan Mason in full PPR leagues he's ev Everything But A must start running back for me a top 15 guy it's possible you might have two guys ranked higher and non PPR top five five running back must start running back no question about it and then somebody that you were going to want to hold on to for at least the next month and make sure that Christian mcaffry is okay so Dan you know Heath Heath brings up a good point about PPR versus non PPR I'm I'm all in no matter what because I think you're going to get the rushing production easily we just haven't seen the passing Downs work yet because I don't think they needed to use it last week against the Jets we may see a little bit more against Minnesota but I do think that Mason profil is somebody who can catch the ball maybe not as good as mcaffrey but a little bit better than Elijah Mitchell so where are you on Jordan Mason taking on Minnesota this week I'm with you here Jamie I look at it like this no matter who really steps into that back field the way they design that run scheme the way the wide receivers block they're going to get yards I mean they took advantage of a pretty good Jets defense there uh in the C Gap where they figure out a weakness in that defense and they exploited I think they'll do the same to Minnesota who didn't have a tough competition last week so while you might not get the receptions though he did get that one I think you're going to get so much rushing production that's not going to matter could have had two touchdowns Debo Samuel got called for a holding call as Mason was going in and then Debo stole the touchdown from him so uh the other 49ers guys does anything change for you auk maybe shaking off the rust Debo getting more work in in the in the Run game you know do you bump up these guys a little bit without mcaffry there oh yeah dvo is a top 12 wide receiver because he had eight Rush attempts in this game he sees an increase in the in the running game when mcaffry is out George KD like all the other bad tight ends from week one were just going to forgive him and start him again and I'm expecting a bounce back from Brandon iuk I'm still starting him if we go a second week with bad Brandon iuk production and then maybe I get a little bit concerned all right so hopefully they take advantage of the Vikings defense as Dan alluded to they didn't have a tough match up last week because it was the Giants and the 49ers will be a much tougher test even though they are going back to Minnesota in Pittsburgh they're taking on the Broncos in Denver and it looks like Justin Fields will be the starting quarterback Russell Wilson still dealing with his calf injury I don't know if this is because the injury that fields are starting based on the depth chart seems like they want to go back to Russell Wilson at some point but Dan when you look at Justin Fields he Justin Fields to Start didn't have to do very much in the win against the Falcons but did give you 57 rushing yards and we know that that's in his profile to be one of the better running quarterbacks are you interested in starting Justin Fields this week against Denver by the way last year week four as a member of the Bears 335 passing yards four touchdowns against this Broncos defense a low end maybe back end qb1 for me I can see him peeking into that range I think look the situation is going to be pretty similar to last week for Arthur Smith in the Steelers offense with bonick really struggling and I think he's going to struggle even more in this game so there's going to be a similar game script so again you're looking for the rushing yards you're looking for maybe a rushing touchdown here from Justin Fields it scares me a little bit looking at some of the George picking splits just like when he was on the field when he wasn't and the fact that he really wasn't putting in much effort as a blocker which I know is a big problem in an Arthur Smith offense but I like their early Rapport too so I'm okay putting fields in as like my back end qb1 this week all right so you see the rankings for George picking here Heath and I are kind of out on him this week Dave Richard our colleague in Sportsline which does our projection that you see on the site they are in on pickings as a starter so Heath what's your concern about picking taking on the Broncos we just saw what happened to DK mataf playing against this defense it's a pat rain and I just don't think pickings is going to overcome that when they don't have a second option in the passing game and you're probably looking at another 40 Rush attempts and maybe 20 pass attempts Fields is the best available quarterback that's still on the waiver wire in leagues he's the guy to go add today but I am not super confident that he's going to be a top 12 quarterback so first guy you would look at if you lost Jordan love would be Mayfield or Fields well it was Mayfield Mayfield 70% rostered now so be yeah it'd be Fields you may still Mayfield if League's run waivers on Wednesday night which a lot of leagues do so Mayfield would still be the top option I know you would agree with that but Fields could still be available and like Dan said I think we all agree backend qb1 if he scores a touchdown on the ground limits the turnovers he's going to get 18 to 20 fantasy points that's a pretty good guy to find off of waivers and then we'll see if he does enough to keep the job moving forward there quickly on the running backs you mentioned 40 Rush attempts Jaylen Warren anybody have interest in I know obviously Naj had 20 carries last week he looks like a borderline starter but what about Warren yeah I I'm going to need to see it with Warren first we saw cordiero Patterson had twice as many Rush attempts in that last game than Jaylen Warren did the Stealers say Warren's healthy enough but Arthur Smith's going to play who Arthur Smith wants to play and right now it seems like it's Naji Harris and it's Cordell Patterson and maybe throw the ball to J Jaylen Warren a little bit but Justin Fields doesn't really throw to his running backs that much so Harris a borderline start Warren a bench piece and the thing for to keep in mind with Harris if he is going to get 20 plus touches against and the Broncos defense just struggled with the Seattle Run game last week so good opportunity for Naji Harris if he's getting that type of work to be a number two running back if you have to start him in this matchup Dolphins running backs big news came out today that Raheem moster is going to miss the Thursday night game with the chest injury Devon aan is considered a game time decision but there was some practice footage released from ESPN that he is not in a red non- contct jersey was moving around a little bit better so it's looking better for Anan so Dan you get the fun assignment break down the Dolphins running backs taking on the Buffalo Bills most dirt out hn may be in Jeff Wilson and Jaylen Wright I think the beauty of Devon hn this year in Fantasy is he gets so many of those High Dolphins Backfield leverage touches that you don't have to worry about him maybe being on a limited role or not playing the full game because that's not his role anyway so I think if aan is start is active in this game I'm putting him in my lineups and I'm Not Looking Back I think he's that talented it's not only that he's that talented he's actually really good at understanding and processing this run scheme which I predicted coming from A&M cuz he was more of an inside the runner uh inside tackle Runner than people gave him credit for now the guy I'm keeping an eye on is Jeff Wilson I know it's crazy look we didn't really give him the hype at all this preseason Jaylen Wright's the shiny new toy but Jaylen Wright does not know the system it's his first year in the system probably is not pro uh trusted on pass protection these are all things Jeff Wilson is trusted in doing in this offense so I'm starting Jeff Wilson as well even if hn is active and I like him as a flex play I think Flex plays the right way to put it I wouldn't I didn't get Jeff Wilson in my top 24 running backs he was about three or four spots behind where I had Raheem moer but it was pretty easy to just give Jeff Wilson Raheem Mo's usage give jayen Wright Jeff Wilson's usage I want to make sure both of these guys are rostered I like flexing Wilson H's a top 12 running back as long as he's active yeah I just kind of swapped out mostard and Wilson just put him in that spot look Wilson's going to be a very popular ad you may not see him in the roster Trend segment because a lot of people still making those moves so if you did waivers and then it comes first come first serve go get Jeff Wilson now because if this h-and injury does become worse and he doesn't play tomorrow night then Wilson becomes easily a mustart running back and Jaylen Wright just from a stashed perspective because if this mostard injury lingers or hn either is hurt or has a re-aggravation of the injury Wright May supersede Jeff Wilson on the depth chart and then the upside play is definitely Jaylen Wright so from a stash perspective get Jaylen r on your team but Jeff Wilson could be a plug-and-play option as they take on the bills let's preview this Thursday night game as Miami takes on Buffalo both teams winning last week dolphins getting great production out of hn from a passing perspective let's talk about tuong of VOA because have over 300 passing yards did get the one touchdown to Tyreek Hill is T Tua a must start quarterback for you in week number two I wouldn't call him a must start quarterback but he is a top 12 quarterback we were just talking about Justin fields we talked a little bit about Baker Mayfield I would start to over both of those guys uh this is the time of year you want to play to it in the Dolphins passing game September and October and so I think he will be good but not great Dan we had a conversation on our podcast about just the I don't know upside of of Jaylen waddle and you know if the Run game maybe is not as prolific are you have any concerns about Jaylen W taking on this Buffalo secondary not necessarily from a matchup standpoint look I think this is going to be big test for this bill secondary they've lost a lot of pieces over the last few years and they're not what we I I don't think they're what we've come to know them as but again I do think the bills have a good understanding of what Tua does and what how that offense works and I think they've been able to take away some of those Concepts that they've leaned on against other teams so that's the part that scares me a little but it's not to the point where I would bench waddle or Hill those are must starts for me yeah I don't think we were Bills Pass Catchers talking about benching him it was just kind of conversation of who you're starting him over I think I'm a little bit more aggressive in the rankings have him closer to top 12 I think you're closer to top 15 uh Dave Richard also closer to top 20 as well let's talk about the bill top 12 for me yeah let's talk about the bills passing attack you're starting Josh Allen another amazing performance last week two passing touchdowns two rushing touchdowns nine carries 39 yards James Cook is a mustart running back as well but the receiving core is there anybody in Buffalo's receiving core that you can trust Dan we'll get to d k in a second but in terms of Keon Coleman khil Shakir I don't think any body's looking at Curtis Samuel at this point but in terms of those first two guys Coleman Shakir any interest against Miami in Thursday's game yeah I actually had a good opportunity to kind of break down their tape this week and I was most impressed with khil Shakur I think he has a really good contact balance after the catch which is something he doesn't get a lot of credit for and it showed on in that game look it was a weird game it was really windy it took a while for either of these passing games to get going in Arizona really never even got going I think it's going to be better game script for him this week and I like Shakir to probably be a a play that I would rather in PP are but somebody I'm okay starting as a flexx in any league for me it was Coleman is the upside play Shakir more of the floor play I know I got made fun of for that but the floor play for Shakir uh so if you want the safer option both number three receivers at best but if you can avoid them avoid them just to see what happens but if you are desperate I think Shakir is a little bit safer than Keon Coleman all right so d conc a dud last week against the Cardinals he got a lot of coverage a lot of attention I don't know if the Dolphins will play things the same way I know you weren't as excited about D can as a lot of people were but he was still a number one tight end for you and people are panicking where do you think he comes out in week two so he's a lowend starter for me there were three like I said we're basically forgiving all the bad tight ends from week one but there were three guys I really want to watch and the first one was Mark Andrews and Isaiah likeley like how's that going to work out in week two the second one was Travis Kelce versus rashy rice and this is the third one because it wasn't like a Trey McBride game where he saw a bunch of targets led the team and just didn't have good production he was just not involved and they weren't able to to scheme things up for him if he has another bad game I think we're going to have to have serious talk about whether he's a top 12 tight end and we saw one League where he was dropped we had the conversation about how much Fab you should spend on picking him up I don't think fantasy managers should do that yet even if he has a bad game in week two but you might be looking to find some Alternatives a Jaan Johnson for example maybe Kobe Parkinson just stab on your bench in case dton conc does struggle but I'm confident he's going to play well against Miami maybe more hopeful than confident but hopefully he does well in this matchup on Thursday night all right again we're going to answer a lot of your questions I'm going to do a mailbag at the end of the show here final segment but we want to answer some questions throughout the show so send us your tweets X use the hash ask fft here's the first one that will answer on today's show Tua burrow or Mayfield so Dan do you like Tua against the bills burrow in hopefully a shootout against the Chiefs and Baker Mayfield in the highest point total of the week against the Detroit Lions I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm leading D Mayfield um I just love what I saw last week and I don't want to put too much credit on what they did as a passing game because it was Washington the arguably maybe the best matchup all year but man he looks good in this system he looks good in we thought maybe losing Dave Canalis would hurt him he just looks comfortable and confident his connection with Mike Evans is unbelievable so I'm going with Baker here all right I'm going to go Baker you know you're going to go Tua but uh we'll see bur oh you go burrow okay very interesting burrow is the one that scares me the most actually so very interesting uh situation there so Baker for me and Dan burrow for Heath we're gonna take a break right now we come back and get into the roster Trends the moves that you made on Tuesday night most added most dropped most traded that's next here on [Music] fft welcome back to Fantasy Football Today presented by bet MGM I'm Jamie that's Heath that's Dan we're taking a look at the roster trends of the most added most dropped and most traded players from the moves that were made on waivers that that ran on Tuesday night remember waivers will run on Wednesday night in some leagues so this is important if you want to see what some of the players that are being picked up and some of the players that are being dropped couple news items before we get to the most added list Uh Kevin stefansky says that David njoku is out for week two so the Browns will not have nooku taken on the Jaguars Hollywood Brown trying to come back from that shoulder injury did not practice on Wednesday so not looking good for him as they take on the Bengals and speaking of the Bengals T Higgins considered day-to-day is making progress according to Zack Taylor so hopefully he is back for that week two game against the Chiefs all right let's take look at the most added players again these are the moves that were made on CBS sports.com fantasy leagues most added player Alan Lazard scoring two touchdowns a little bit of surprise there Chargers DST great match up for them as they take on the Carolina Panthers Isaiah likeley could be a monster Jordan Mason could be a Most Added Players monster Demarcus Robinson no puka noua Madison coming off a strong game you see some other defenses tank bsby we'll talk about him in a second but Heath Allan Lazard Allan Lazard caught off touchdown on a I don't know not broken play but a free play uh as Aaron Rogers fooled yet another Defender to come across the line of scrimmage and he's open as he gets behind the defense and then the second touchdown was from terod Taylor are we chasing Fool's Gold here by getting Lazard well I'm not because I didn't add out on Lazard anywhere I did see some pretty crazy bids for him at 15% plus he was the number three wide receiver in terms of fantasy production in week one so it's not that surprising that he would be added we have seen Aaron roders multiple times in the past carry a wide receiver that we didn't think was that good good with a 10 touchdown season if you're telling me that's what's going to happen with alen Lazard I I would kind of believe you but I don't want to spend any resources or drop anyone good to go get him just real quick rest of season Lazard or Mike Williams I wasn't going to go Garrett Wilson trust me I'm gonna go with Lazard just because I I don't I think Mike Williams has to be like 30% better than alen Lazard with the relationship that Lazard has with Aaron Rogers okay so hopefully Mike Williams gets healthy more people invested in Mike Williams than Alan Lazard but you might want to make that switch all right Dan let's talk about is likely because tight end play was awful in week one except for this guy nine catches 111 yards and a touchdown could have been two if he got his tow in 12 targets Mark Andrews was bad in that game he'll get better we know the other tight ends will get better but is Isaiah likely now a number one fantasy tight end not the number one fantasy tight end but a starting fantasy tight end I think he's someone I would start every week I think you have to really dig deep to find what the true meaning of a starting tight end in Fantasy is these days given how unpredictable the position is uh with that said we saw all throughout Camp he was one of Lamar's favorite targets he was on the field a lot in Camp we heard about him making all those plays and then we kind of all said well he is kind of just the tight end two on the depth chart they're going to run a lot of 11 personnel maybe so we probably won't see him but Todd monin has adjusted this offense to put the best players on the field and likely is one of those best players he's anep honestly an excellent athlete and dominated the Collegiate level from a production standpoint so none of the production should be a surprise almost had a bigger game just miss getting his toe in so yeah he's someone I would start at this point every week and you see the projections here from SportsLine the number nine tight end in PPR that's a pretty fair range for you know losing Ferguson most likely no David nooku so he does creep into the top 10 hopefully it produces and we're not just chasing the numbers that he had last week against the Chiefs Demarcus Robinson was on this list and we have the puka naua situation not officially placed on IR but that's where he's headed so he's going to be out for four games when it comes to Robinson and Tyler Johnson who we did not see on that list is Robinson the clear-cut replacement option for you from who will be the the the second best producer for the Rams beond Coop it's not it's not clearcut for me at all there's a lot of leagues where I put a $1 bid on both players not really caring which one I get because I don't really know which one's going to be better they both had seven Targets in week one Robinson has the advantage of having been in the system last year and be was good in the last four or five games of the Season Johnson I thought looked a little bit better in week one and may actually just play that puka nakua role which is probably more valuable so I I want to make sure both are rostered in my league I don't want to start either one this week but I'm kind of prepared to believe whatever they show me this week yeah it is a good week to see what happens and hopefully you don't have to use this player as the replacement for puka you have somebody else better on your bench but in terms of Robinson you mentioned it last five games that he played in the regular season did not play week 18 but the five games prior to that 13.2 PPR points or more so he was a big factor for Matthew Stafford even with NCA and Cooper cup there so hopefully that continues for those people that are picking him up clearly more so than Tyler Johnson one more guy I want to get to before we go to the most drop list is tank bsby so we saw him outproduce Travis etn in week one against Miami Dan you dug into some numbers you're going to talk about some other players when we get to our next segment but in terms of Big B versus etn do we have a problem for Travis etn moving forward I think so and you know it's good for me to watch the tape of these two because I was a huge tank bsby fan coming out of Auburn just unbelievably explosive and decisive Runner and that's finally what we saw he had such a a struggle his rookie season I think he just feels confident within the system now and understands what they're asking of him and Travis cen's tape was kind of the opposite he was bouncing a lot of runs this has kind of been who Travis Cen is he's been able to make up for it with high Force Miss tackle rates but keeping the offense on track and in good down and distances is always always something that every coach will like and that's what tank bsby is giving them right now um equal carry numbers in week one I don't think it'll take over anything tank bsby but what we'll have to look at is two things one will this be more of a even split like we saw in week one and two most importantly we start to take over some of that red zone Ro cuz etn has had an issue these last two seasons last three seasons really with some fumbles inside the Red Zone including last week really a game altering fumble there so that's the thing I'm keeping an eye on I said I was watching The Andrews likely split and this is a very similar situation my expectation is that Travis etn bounces back plays better sees more touches than he did last week tanks bby's role kind of shrinks and he's really more of somebody that you can only count on if there's an injury to Travis etn but if there's an even split again this week then I'm going to have to change that expectation all right you saw another uh similar situation with the Raiders Alexander Madison actually had more snaps more production than zamir white zamir white did get more carries but Madison could be taking over that backfield for the Raiders as well let's go to the most drop list we're not going to spend a lot of time on this Most Dropped Players particular list uh you see a lot of defenses on this list the one name I want to ask about I guess a couple names the running backs so you got Blake horm you got chuba hubard and you got Marshon Lloyd Heath of those three guys is there one that you would want to hold in particular because of something changing from week one clearly the guys were in a bad spot corm not playing at all Lloyd not playing at all and hubard really struggling and sharing time with the miles Sanders yeah I just have a guy at the end of my bench it's probably korm because I do believe that if he gets the opportunity at some point because of injury he's going to be successful in that system I didn't necessarily drop chuba hubard everywhere that I had him but it looked really terrible and I don't have high expectations for this week yeah and Romo dun's got the knee injury most likely not going to play in Most Traded Players week number two hold him if you can but clearly if you have to upgrade trade your wide receiver core understandably so you have to drop him if he's the last guy on your bench let's move now to the most traded list and this is more interesting I think than anything that we're going to talk about because these are the players that you're either bailing on selling high or trying to buy low on Jordan Mason and Chris mcaffrey two of the top three most traded players Jamar Chase among the players in the top three as well McClaren Kelsey DeAndre Swift you see the list here uh so let's talk about the 49ers here so Dan if you're the Christian mcaffrey fantasy manager are you selling because you're afraid you're not going to have him for now another week and trying just to get some parts to help you because you might be going to 0 and2 or you looking to maybe sell him from a position of strength knowing that his name still carry some value but you're concerned that he may not play for a couple weeks I'm not selling Christian mcaffrey this is the ultimate time I don't like to sell players I will say this as my main League I do have Christian mcaffrey and I'm in talks with the the manager who has Jordan Mason who found a way to get him for more uh free agent budget last week he went nuts on him and now he's trying to ring me dry and try to get a lot of assets out of me I'm not budging I think that Christian mcaffrey is playing this slow right now because they know it's a long season now the concern becomes do the 49ers come back at this thing like okay we have Jordan Mason like we had a couple years ago with Al Elijah mchill somebody we trust and now we're going to make this more of a split than it was last season even in that scenario I don't think I'm going to be able to return value that I think is appropriate for Christian mcaffry right now obviously if someone's willing to give me Bree Hall I'm interested but other than that I'm hanging on I got one offer from the mcaffrey manager I have Jordan offering me Z flowers for Jordan Mason I'm not going to do that but trying to take advantage I also have puka who's banged up so I think trying to take advantage of my situation a little bit but I'm going to hold Jordan Mason or at least trying to ask for a little bit more than Z flower so Heath we saw Jamar Chase on this list and it's been a very crazy few weeks for him he did play in week one not the best statistical performance Bengals getting upset by the Patriots good time to buy low on Jamar Chase I would still be trying to buy low on him I still expect he's going to be a top six wide receiver for the rest of the season I would not be surprised if things get going this week against the Chiefs and so yeah I I think it's a good time to buy low it's like Dan said with mcaffrey I I'm not interested in selling Chase right now and this is uh just I think quickly broader topic of olve struggled London struggled Harrison struggled a lot of Big Time wide receivers struggled we know the tight end struggled as well we get to Kelsey in a second good time to try and get those guys cheap almost all of them the two Case by case yeah the two that I'm most concerned about right now would be London and Harrison but I think London I was lower on initially so that makes sense and man it's just hard to find anything posi about that week one performance from Harris and even watching his tape I'm going to hope it was the wind I'm going to hope it was you know the some offensive line concerns for Kyler Murray it's a good buffalo defense look they're going back home this week hopefully take advantage of a beat up Rams defense uh I'm still going to be confident in in Marvin Harrison Dan I want to ask you about Travis Kelce he's on the most traded list you were very high on Kelce I know it was your tight end one for a good portion of the offseason I don't know if you changed that at all prior to the uh the start of the year but disappointing performance rice was fantastic Xavier worthy scored two touchdowns on three touches uh we know Brown's coming back are you still thinking Travis Keli could be tight end one I think given the tight end landscape he still can be but I don't think he's going to be what I expected he could be which is bouncing back to the levels of he's a weekly you know cheat code for your offense for your fantasy team because he's outscoring the rest of position I think those days are over I had a lot of Victory laps in week one and I had one big Miss and that was Travis Kelce who I you know I said maybe we'll return to the levels but look they just don't need him the same way they used to need him in this offense I still think he'll have his big games of course wor it's just a matter of are they going to be as consistent as they were when he was that big weekly Advantage for you and I'm not so sure that's the case then again I'm not so sold that any of these tight ends are going to outscore him either at this point so maybe by default he can be tight end one well let's just hope he outscores Noah gray the second tight end in the te what do you think about Victory lapping after week one well I I mean I didn't know that Dan had a lot of them I knew the Cooper cup win but I I mean I I missed a lot of them it's hard to sort through those between all the Giants crying all right so Victory laps after week one all right let's take some uh some of your questions here we got another tweet again we're going to get to a lot of them at the end of the show but thank you for sending them to us using the hashtag ask fft Brian wants to know should I trade Drake London for Devonte Adams so Heath I think you were probably Adams over London would you rather have London or Adams moving forward oh I was I might be the low guy on both yeah I'm not super excited I probably wouldn't no because I don't I still have a little bit of hope that the London upside shows up at some point I don't see a very optimistic case for Devonte Adams this year Dan quickly who would you rather have London or Adams I think it's Adams for me I am at a weird spot after watching that Falcons tapate because it reminded me a lot of watching the Bengals offense last year when Joe burrow couldn't push off that calf and they had to do everything from shotgun when you're in that spot as an offensive coordinator and as an offense you're basically drawing dead because the defense can just scheme you know somebody broke it down great they tried to run a play action and nobody bought the play action roll out bootleg from cousins and the DN TJ watt crashed down on bejan Robinson that's going to keep happening until he gets healthy enough to to to run a full offense cousins and I don't know when that's going to be like is a week going to make it happen is two weeks is three weeks like I'm very concerned about that offense right now all right Dan don't Victory lap the length of time you took to answer that question when I said just tell me the name London or Adams all right we take a break right now we come back have issues with that we come back we're going to we're going to pick Dan's brain here we're going to give you a peek in beyond the box score a very fun SE uh podcast that we have on CBS sports.com on Monday Dan's going to give us some trends that he saw from week one tell you how they can impact your fantasy roster moving forward that's next on fft [Music] welcome back to Fantasy Football Today presented by bet MGM so we have a great Fantasy Football Today podcast that airs every day sometimes twice a day sometimes three times a day sometimes we're just on camera on podcast all the time on Mondays our host Adam AER has Dan schneer and our colleague Jacob Gibbs on for what we call beyond the box score and Jacob and Dan do a great job going into the stats from the previous week or some trends that have been happening over the previous couple of weeks and take a little bit deeper dive a little bit more in depth on some of the numbers and it's really great listen Beyond the Boxscore and Dan does a great job so does Jacob so we're going to bring a little bit of that to you guys right here on CBS Sports Network so Dan gave us some some trends that he saw from week one we picked out the best five and we're going to start with this one so Dan should we be concerned at all about Kyler Murray and Marvin Harrison Jr after what we saw from their per performance against Buffalo uh in week one I am certainly concerned uh so Kyler Murray in this game just had a 6.4 average depth of Target The League average is 77 har Harrison was mostly running go routes as a boundary receiver that's not what we want he dominated in the slot in his opportunities Ohio State last year 62% of Murray's pass yards came after the catch 48% League average he was sacked on 29% pressure 19% League average 3.30 seconds to to average time to throw from Murray I'm nervous about Murray holding the ball too long not seeing the FI well and then we get to the scar SC scariest stat of all and it was the weak uh the week one timed Max Speed from the rookie receivers and Marvin Harrison all the way down at 16.1 miles per hour max speed Below guys like Keenan Allen at 18.3 so I am very nervous yeah I I think like I've lowered Harrison quite a bit in my week two projections but it's more of a shortterm nervousness for me I still expect he's going to be a very good wide receiver over the course of the season and we just maybe shouldn't have been drafting him in the top 15 picks and expecting him to be a top 12 wide receiver in week one cuz very few rookie wide receivers do that I'm not that worried about Kyler Murray I still think like the way he's moving the way he runs things are going to be better with McBride things are going to be better with Harrison I still think Kyler Murray is a top 10 top eight fantasy quarterback I'm just a little concerned in the short term about Harrison West Coast teams 1:00 Eastern starts could always be a little tricky the weather was a little bit tricky for the probably Cardinals more so than the bills and bills look they're a very good defense so let's see how they react to week two taking on a Rams defense that was pretty good against the Lions but still struggled a little bit there as well all right let's go to the next topic here are you buying or selling the splits that we saw on the following back fields from Pittsburgh with Naji Harris and Jaylen Warren from Cincinnati with Zach moss and Chase Brown and Tennessee from Tony Pard and Tai Spears so going one by one on this one I don't know how you can buy anything from Arthur Smith he's so unpredictable I think partially that's the injury uh playing a role there for Warren so I won't buy that one the Bengals one I'm not buying either because I think this offense is going to look a lot different once T Higgins gets back on the field and once J bro takes that next step and is a little healthier and Moss although he got the touches we wanted was not all that effective with them in this game whatsoever and then finally on the last Back Field that's the one where I kind of throw my hands up and and toss it over to you guys because that one is the one I'm most uncertain on and I think that like the one that I buy is Tony it makes sense to me that Tony polard was awesome when he was in Dallas got hurt at the end of the season was really really struggling for half of the year last year and then it kind of clicked in the last four or five games looked awesome in the preseason looked awesome in week one I like Tai Spears a lot and I still think he's going to have a role but I don't think he's actually someone who should probably have more than 15 touches per game he's really good in that role that Tony polard once was so I kind of buy that one I have no idea what to make of the Bengals and I don't think they're actually going to be a very good running team anyway so I don't know how much I care and then the Steelers Arthur Smith I I I kind of buy it because I think Jaylen Warren's their best running back and Arthur Smith likes to not give the ball to the best player at the position as much as they should I think the fun thing with uh the the Steelers is you have a healthy guy right now yeah and it'll be a little frustrating when Jaylen Warren finally gets Health he could be this week you know we could see Jaylen Mo and they said he's getting closer uh then it gets a little bit more frustrating but I think while Nai is locked into getting north of 15 total touches last week he had over 20 total touches you're going to start him I I don't care you know 20 for 70 it's ugly but you're going to start somebody with that much volume especially this week taking on Denver for Cincinnati for me it's always been Chase Brown is the Long play Zach Moss is the short play because he has a hard time staying healthy so I'd rather stash Chase [Music] Brown welcome back to Fantasy Football Today presented by bet MGM it's now time for a start bench cut we need some theme music for that you know like start bench cut you know something exciting you know get everybody fired up uh we're going to talk about some we're going to give you Start/Bench/Cut three players at each position you got to tell me if you're going to start them in week two bench them in week two or cut them in week two the choice is yours let's start with the quarterbacks first three guys that we got Joe burrow Jaden Daniels Baker Mayfield Heath who are we starting who are we benching who are we cutting I will start Jaden Daniels I will bench Joe burrow I will cut Baker Mayfield I think Baker's going to be very good against Washington but if you're not going to start him this week week you might as well cut him well he was a good against Washington last week this week against Detroit so could be good there yep great uh expected total highest total of the week Between the Lions and the Bucks all right Dan who are you starting who you benching who you cutting well we're already off to a different start here without a are hosting these because it's an easy question it's Daniels we're starting it's Baker we're cutting and we're benching bur and hoping he will bring us back the end of the season come on give us a harder one Jamie well look Baker is the best quarterback in fantasy right now so a lot of people may be looking at this and saying I know Jane Daniels was great but what about Joe Burl he might be the guy we just want to cut because T Higgins may not play again in week two he looked awful against the Patriots in week one who knows where Jamar Chase is at from a heads space standpoint because he wants to get paid and didn't look like the same Jamar Chase so Burl flexing his wrist after the game he might be the guy that people want to get rid of so we'll keep an eye on that just I would agree with you Daniel start burrow bench cut Baker I want to see it more from Baker but again if Baker's a guy you got to start start him this week as a top 10 guy all right running backs we got here JK Dobbins Jerome Ford and Brian Robinson Dan first word who you starting who you benching who you cutting Dobbins Robinson and Ford this gets more interesting and now we're getting to the tough questions I'm starting JK Dobbins God I love what I saw from him on tape last week and I love even more what I saw from the Chargers runs scheme they just know how to run the football I'm actually going to move Robinson to my bench and I'm going to cut forward look long-term forward a he's going to lose his role some part of his role at least in Nick chub but also I just don't really love what I saw from that browns offensive line in week one maybe they'll get healthier throughout the season but I think that Robinson is the guy on my bench and Ford will be the cut I'm starting Jerome Ford he's a top 12 running back for me this week I love the fact that he so thoroughly dominated the touches in the Browns Back Field and yes the browns offensive line looked bad against the Dallas Cowboys I bet it looks better against the Jacksonville Jaguars the team that got the least amount of pressure in week one I will bench JK Dobbins because man if he can just show that again but see the 15 carries instead of 10 I'm going to be all the way in I'll cut Brian Robinson all right I'm going to start JK Dobbins he's a start of the week so I love the setup for him taking on that Panthers defense mind is Derrick Brown I'm going to bench Brian Robinson because I do think that despite a tough match up last week against Tampa Bay he was tied for the team in targets like that situation for him excuse me tied Austin ekler for the targets so you know he's going to be involved in the passing game got the short uh yardage rushing touchdown as well and Jerome Ford I think was fantastic from a usage standpoint but I agree I think he's got to do a little bit more I think those two other guys a little bit better for at least week number two and possibly for the future all right let's go to a wide receiver one here and we got DJ Moore Michael Pitman and Amari Cooper three guys coming off disappointing performances in week number one so DJ Moore Michael Pitman Amari Cooper Heath start bench cut yeah I will I'm sure be the only person saying this but I'm going to start Michael Pitman 42% Target share in week one they're not going to throw 19 passes again he was a top 20 wide receiver for me in preseason he's a top 20 wide receiver for me this week I'm going to bch Amari Cooper because he did see nine targets I'm a little bit hopeful that eventually he and Watson will get on the same page and he's been a lot better when Watson's not been pressured he shouldn't be pressured much this week I don't want to cut DJ Moore I think I have to cut DJ Moore I think Kenan Allen's the number one wide receiver there Dan I'm G to go outside the box I'm going to start Amari Cooper really liked what I saw from him on tape they missed they just missed that connection a few times the matchup gets a lot easier there but obviously I could really get bit hard for this one with uh Cooper I'm going to cut Michael Pitman here I agree with Heath that the target share was nice and maybe and not maybe definitely the overall pass volume will go up but remember when you're talking about Anthony Richardson that pass volume is you know 40 50% completion rate at this point at least that's what we've seen um and I think the big plays that's what he's known for it they're not going to Pitman down the field uh DJ Moore is somebody I can't start right now put him on the bench um obviously the target share could be there but I'm very concerned with this Bears passing offense I'm going to go I I think I agree with Dan the only thing that I want to keep an eye on is Keenan Allen miss practice Wednesday with a heel injury just something to monitor there and Romo dun is dayto day with a knee injury if both those guys are out DJ Moore goes back to what he was last year which was the featur guy in this offense even in a bad offense he's going to get I think a good Target share which I know you'll like uh I'm probably going to cut Michael Pitman as well and put Amari Cooper on the bench if in fact that's the situation with both Bears guys potentially missing week number two all right send us your questions we got our mailbag coming up here's one we'll tease you with uh for right now full PPR would you start Tai Spears Zack shanet or Jaylen Warren and we're going to say that Ken walk Walker is playing obviously shonet would be the guy if Walker's out keath who you going with I guess I will start Tai J Spears but I do not like it Dan I'm going shanet Taj Spears this is what was so confusing to me earlier he really just played a third down role he wasn't even getting series last week uh Warren obviously in a similar situation so just think regardless of if Walker plays shanet will have a bigger role based on him playing hurt I would agree I would go with shonet just because I don't think we're going to see 100% of Walker if he's out there all right we're going to take a break we come back more of your questions again keep them coming to us on on Twitter X using the # ask fft your questions your mailbag next on after the [Music] Answering Your Questions break welcome back to Fantasy Football Today presented by bet MGM the rules are you get to say a name in 10 seconds of analysis to answer these questions all right Ryan wants to know following bad performances from Marvin Harris Jor Chris alve and DK meaf would you have any thoughts on starting Demarcus Robinson over one of them this week Keith Cummings I am a little bit concerned about Marvin Harrison I would have zero thoughts about starting Demarcus Robinson over any of these guys all right let's see what happens with Robinson and Tyler Johnson before we go that route next question my league is dropping players like Jaylen Warren and Romo dun would you drop backup running backs for players like this how about disappointments like javante Williams so Dan you got Maron lyd Tyron Tracy uh Jalil mlin those type of guys we drop those players for Warren or Romo dun yes I would adun is the one that I think has higher upside longterm but if you need a running back I'm good with going in Warren uh we still all the reasons we still like Warren we haven't really been able to see because he's not fully healthy wait for that to happen and again I'm very I never was drafting javante anywhere I don't see any real path for players like javante and zamir white uh to any kind of fantasy relevancy in those situations with those quarterback play and the the game scripts that are to come 10 seconds next question I need to start too Drake London Devonte Smith or George Pickins Heath I am starting Devonte Smith for sure um I'll go with London over Pickins I would as well next question do I start Jameson Williams this week or Z flowers Dan you got 20 seconds before the show is over Jon J Jon Williams yes Jameson Williams all right one more quick question let's go do I drop Chase Brown for julum mlin no thank you for watching fantasy football today for Heath Cummings for danne I'm
