hey Buckeye fans Stephanie yod here at 971 the fan bringing you my Best Bets for week one as the Ohio State Buckey host the akan Zips now we know that Ohio state will put up big numbers in this game but will akan be able to find the end zone or will this be a shootout the spread opened up at 50 A2 at the beginning of the week it's now down to 48 A2 with the books placing the total at 57 A2 you can basically say that 48 and a half to 57 and a half points is about what you can expect for Ohio State to put up that is because akan will not be scoring in this game based off of the scoring odds the books don't anticipate the Zips to score any touchdowns you look at the race to Five Points and the Zips are plus 1,900 and Ohio State is minus 4500 the race to 10 points the race to 15 points and the race to 20 plus 2,000 for the Zips they don't even give you that option for Ohio State because the buckas will be the ones to score those odds so then I look at the alternate spread lines the buck guys to cover 48 half isus 110 but you go back to that original line at 502 and you get plus money at plus 120 that looks pretty juicy to me but if you consider how the total is set up and the fact that the akran Zips will not be putting up a touchdown based on the the race to five odds you can consider that the number of points put up in that total at 57 a half is plus 300 for the Buckey to cover that if you want to take your odds and get that big line go for it but I really like the original lineus 50 and a half at plus 120 you can anticipate Ohio State to get out of the game firing I think they're going to put up some points real quick they're excited to Showcase this new offense under Chip Kelly would transfer quarterback will Howard and all the the shiny targets that he has here at Ohio State I see them scoring on that first drive but you can get out as a parlay because we know Aram will not be getting into the end zone they'll be punting a bunch so you get plus 110 for Ohio State to score on the first drive and akan to punt on the first drive that barely even feels like a parlay take that one at plus 110 for those of you that are worried about Ohio State pulling their starters and the twos and threes not being able to put up those big numbers just hold it Ohio state is loaded with Talent you pull kinhan junkins you put in trevan Henderson you pull will Howard you put in Devin Brown or Julian Saint this depth chart is going to be on Showcase in this game and you look at the Zips they finished two and 10 last year and they failed to make a bowl game they scored just 16.3 points per game that was 130th in college football and they allowed 28 points which was 81st meanwhile they have to go up against a top Ohio State Defense who allowed just 11.2 points per game Michigan being the only team to score even 17 points on them and then Ohio State putting up 30 and a half points per game we're going to see a rejuvenated offense under Chip Kelly and all the stars that he has available so I'm betting on Ohio State step chart and I'm going to have them to cover 50 and a half at plus 120 and I also like them to score on that first drive while the Zips punt on the first one for plus 110 make sure you guys check back here next week for my picks heading into week two and we'll see you at kickoff
