hi w stand fans back welcome back to bin irons it's game three and we are up against really easy team to play as ever Manchester City are you looking forward to this game or is there slight little bit of reputation bear in mind what Holland is doing already this this season um or are you in a kind of positive space you know for this one well I'm I'm already annoyed at Manchester City to be honest because um I was one of those idiots who fell the bloody slow sports news that said um Harland was out injured with a foot injury and of course what did I do I was like I'll be smart I'll take him about my fantasy football team he only went on and scored a hatrick didn't he so yeah I'm I'm not very happy not very happy with Harland um that's that's my fault um it's just a tough one isn't it there's no other way to put it it's it's probably going to be our uh sort of easiest analysis uh before a game because it's just it's Manchester City and we all know how good they are we all know their qualities and I think that this season we've just seen them um add another add another bit of a string to their bow and um that get that little bit more quality in in terms of pace on the counter or even just Pace in their Runners and um Goku looks much sharper I think that they've figured out how to play as as um as side with him and and his quite um unpredictable or say sporadic nature on the ball with his delivery and and is how you you can ter itely but I think now they're finally sort of starting to sink up a little bit more and maybe read each other totally agree it's man city is always incredibly difficult they got so much Holland can be completely well at times invisible in the game because he's not involved in play not involved in kind of the buildup and then all of a sudden it's a simple through ball a little cutback and there he is to smash it home so and in this season he's bought has already got five goals this season scored a hatrick in the last game he is on absolute fire this season but uh before we go into the whole depression of how good City are and how they could just maybe tear us apart I think it's uh going to be we're going to have some interesting matchups in this game What's going to be very interesting to watch is uh waka against doku because obviously if we think back to the FA Cup Final Waka was exceptional I think it's probably fair to say when it came to defending 1 V one versus docu I think that's going to be a really interesting matchup uh I'm slightly anticipating that we will keep mavropanos still at Center C back I think we're going to keep the defense by waca the same until the international break and I think after that we'll then see toivo come in I do believe maybe in Midfield we maybe see such maybe dropped for Alvarez so then we can have those two uh you know proper defensive midfielders in Alvarez and also in uh Rodriguez then I think it's going to give Petra maybe a bit more license to kind of get forward and Link play but um they they're my changes that's what I think is going to happen um but what are you expecting to see in terms of a lineup yeah well I mean it's an interesting one I think um you know foden's gone down with the sickness um and I'm going to avoid any sort of corn joke there um but I I think um isn't that is that Disturbed isn't it down with a sickness crap oh no oh I'm disturbed that's what it is um but it's um no it's one of those where I think look they're always they're going to be quality when they come out and they've added another stream to their bow um with Savio and it's um he's already you mean the Riad mahz you know region that's basically what he is he's just he's R Riad mahz reincarnated essentially in the body of a young Brazilian he's he is already looking so sharp and dangerous and I think you're right in the fact that umu and rasak will be the the an really interesting matchup I think dku is gonna want to prove a point um after that but I think there's um there's a lot to play for and one of the sort of key um jeels I think is going to be up top and if it's if um both ends of the pitch if we can keep Harland arms length in terms of just yeah but even then you know it's it's that's a that's not necessarily a guarantee but I think with the physicality we have that it's it's perhaps got a chance that he's not going to win absolutely everything in the air and I think at the other end of the pitch you know even if it's Antonio or if it's fkr we still have quite a good um physical forward and I you know we watched the the Bournemouth game and I do think that um f Krug was um you know he wasn't at his sharpest he's even said that he said you know he didn't have a full preseason and he's getting the excuses in early but I think he was absolutely dominant in the air and if there's one sort of thing that you can you can say about uh Manchester city is that that you know if you put a big oldfashioned Center forward who is going to win everything and knock it down then you know it doesn't matter that they've got Kyle Walker when when you've got Bowen or kudus running at you you're going to get chances and I think and I were kind of debating whether it' be Arsenal or Manchester City and I'm very much still in the Manchester City Camp I just don't think that Arsenal have progressed enough in this window I think you're right with uh City on on the title I think it's theirs to lose quite frankly um the that that bigger team uh gundan coming in that that's something we haven't even talked about the the the fact that he can come in I think even pep there's a video of him turning around and saying uh you know about him being back and when he came back it's like you're the best player and even kdb knows it it's just quite a statement when you think of how good kdb's been from but then it's also when you think of what gan's done at Man City went to Barcelona absolutely bossed it now I think he got 18 goals for Barcelona coming back to the premier league league he is exceptional in anyway he's such an intelligent player that's another one we're going to have to to deal with so I do think maybe going for that kind of double pivot of Alvarez and Guido in there I think he probably the the best idea in which try and stifle Man City I think the last time a team did that really well was actually Newcastle a few years back and pep was magnanimous in his praise but you could also see with receiving with just how well Newcastle did with those two defensive midfielders if you were to pick between the two Strikers obviously we're not going to includeing because quite frankly we know he's not going to start no no offense to him but he's not going to start if we used to look at Antonio and fer who do you feel offers the best chance to either bring others into play or to hurt man city I mean I was I was really impressed with uh F Crook's introduction of Palace you know when he came on there I thought he looked very solid you missed some chances but you know if if if you're coming off the bench it's um it's difficult to be straight at it and I think it's has Antonio done enough to start in my opinion um not for me I personally I think i' I'd be starting forb and say look this is your chance this is your chance to um start the next match after the international break and you know if you're saying you're not fully fit then you've got that International break to do so if he's not called up for Germany and he also showed the one moment someone really got in and around him which was Somerville is that de little touch I know people might not think anything of it but that little spit of smarts from him to just stick out his toe to direct the ball into the path of um Sufi who unfortunately missed his opportunity is something like someone like MO is going to absolutely kind of look to kind of capitalize on especially Bowen not Bowen's like he's incredibly predatory around the area so if we are able to get those guys in a position where they can get far more Central and get closer to Fork rug I do have confidence he is going to be able to be able to bend off the opposition a lot a lot better than what we've seen from Antonio who despite what he's done for us in recent years as a center forward and in that kind of role this year I think he's really struggled to have the ball stick at his feet and he's really struggled to kind of be that holdup man that we needed in in some games I think as well that when you look at at the fact of how he's playing and and I think it's fair to say that he struggled for long periods like after the 50 or 60th sort of minute you can see him starting to wne I think giving us the option to bring him on um if fullkrug isn't performing that is a massive thing and um something me you said isn't it having maybe an angry or a fresh Antonio do what you say you can just go out there and run completely flat out for 30 minutes it's possibly the best way to get the most out of Antonia yeah and I think that it's important to say that you know we're not saying Antonio shouldn't start because um f Crook's been really good I just think it that maybe when you look at the type of players he's up against the type of defenders in radial and you know potentially Stones um aangi these center backs are big physical players and I think they would after what we've seen from um The pisan Villa game I think they would probably be quite comfortable with with Antonio based on his recent performances and I I I think if you give a big physical Center forward chances like f crook he can he can create for himself but others as well and I think that's probably where you're going to get the best results against this city side but you know they've got so much qualties it's going to be a very very hard for uh game to get anything from it in my opinion and I I think to be brutally honest I'll just be happy if it's not another five five nil or 51 or or like as long as I'm not I've come to expect of any West H fan against Man City we we've we've taken some absolutely smash some absolute smashing and we over the years but I think this is probably time where we'll see the most of uh or L at he's most pragmatic and I think he showed when at wolves actually in some of those games where he was very pragmatic with Wolves they were very good know beaten I think 2-n in one of those games I think they beat Arsenal as well um under ly he seems to when he needs to have that team well drilled in that that kind of defensive shape and holding it narrow he does seem to get results and he I agree in that he's very he can do very much what Moyes did and Moyes was also at times came close to causing an upset against City didn't quite get there but I think lope has then that little extra tactical now in which to change something and even you know Pepa was very complimentary about West Ham talking about how good our Squad is that we have some great weapons up front calling out obviously kudus as part of that and knowing for well that we could hurt them on the break if they we were able to turn them over in a higher position because they do commit so many men forward with the pace we have now with the liks of kudus with Bowen and you know for is no slouch as we know uh really could potentially be a threat and even you know ju Bak on the right hand side has got good pace so was me and you obviously never been greatly complimentary about wack and a final third we' both both would happily admit he's got good pace and he is good with the ball at his feet if we get him in advanced positions to at least put pressure on them in that that position because I don't think svino is going to do a huge amount of Defending I think there's a good chance down that right hand side we can really get at their left back but again it's going to be I think the chances we get will have to be they'll be very similar to when we played man city was the 2-2 game where we gave away that silly sloppy penalty quite late in the game where Bowen got his goals due to man City's high line I do think that's going to be probably where we're going to have to hit them is trying to get in behind that backline I don't think we can play with our you know our backs to go and try and play in round City we've just got to get in behind and constantly trying to turn them and part of me does wonder that maybe even putting B in as a center forward bringing some of you on the left hand side and putting Mo on the right maybe might be a better tactical play in this game than maybe going with even Antonio or fkr and they're great backups to then bring on the pitch maybe I think that's I think that's a very good shout um you know when we talk about getting him behind the defense we know that Mo's going to put himself about physically we know that um Bowen is G going to cause nightmares in his movement and I think I don't know I I I expect maybe L to just back his his Center forward and say look you know this is an opportunity to go out and show me what you can do and why you should be leading the line um I would love to see that Pacey outlet that that you're you know talking about some of on that left side and and I think although he kind of um had that during the headlights effort um against Bournemouth the other night I think he looked quite sharp um yeah agree with you m he did look sharp and just didn't seem to ever really get his feet right and seemed to be I just need to hit this hard to to blast it B the goke keeper and just I think he over fought it in yeah I think that last year under lead he's hitting that no problems I think he just thought I need to make that impression and that immediate impact and just overthought it slightly but I agree I do think he looked sharp and I was I was happy with his performance to be honest yeah I think we're going into it with strength in depth up top and Pace in depth up top as well and we've said it many times but Pace will cause anyone problems so I think the the area that this is going to be one is is you know dealing with harand dealing with Holland and dealing with that City attack you know if if if arola has a stinker then I think we're probably looking at a drubbing but if arola has a good game if kilman and um MAV Panos can keep up this partnership that they've got we're in a good spot to at least kind of caused them a few issues and I just think that you know Gillan B was incredibly um positive about L's appointment when he came in and he said about his tactical versatility and will look to play it and I think that's why we're kind of bandying about these ideas because we haven't quite seen that from him yet or or we you know this is the first time I think we'll will'll have needed a different approach because Man City are that good and no disrespect considered we may even go for three at the back you know we we don't know he may think playing to Debo in there maybe uh in the middle of kilman and mavropanos as maybe a sweeper might be the way to go and to then utilize obviously W Baka to Man mark dku one of those games where I'm just hoping for you know a decent performance I don't want to drop in if if if we get thrashed I think it'll be a real punch in the stomach just because you know I I'm I really want us to move away from the sort of negative approach of going to these teams and showing them too much respect which I think it's fair to say was a big criticism of Moes where it felt like he he he didn't always go and and play these teams or try and beat them it felt like you know at times what he was going for was a point and I think um it's it's showed in our record I think if our center backs can can cope with Harland and you know if if kilman can reproduce that Crystal Palace break um that's going to be huge for us that sort of movement where you can rely on your Center back to carry the ball you know that's something we didn't really have and last season and you know whether agu is here or not it's something that I think he kind of um flattered to deceive with you know he he he did that occasionally but not quite enough and um you know there's many reasons for that if the fact that he didn't feel confident in the center back partner next to him or or the fact that maybe was asked to sit deeper you know I'm not going to not going to dig him out too much for that but I think that when you have players like kilman and Ma pan who will do that and and will be quite confident doing that because they have got someone next to them they feel that they can they can trust that's going to be big in terms of freeing up um those attacking players that we mentioned and particularly with someone like Alvarez they'll drop deeper they'll drop deeper and let Ma pan go forward and let them get stuck in and if they lose the ball you know Alvarez is there to to try and scoop it up or or you know pull a shirt and get book in and and it's that's going to be a big element of the play because you know as you said harand can drop in and out of of games and he can ghost for quite a few um you know he can ghost for 45 minutes and pop up and score a hattick but he will you know inevitably um be a focal point for them at times and if you can just keep him quiet and keep control of that ball retain possession then you can get out City it's just incredibly hard yeah that's the problem isn't it it's incredibly hard to get at them because they are just that good and and they've started the season with well not as as you would hope they would start the season quite frankly when you're playing them quite early but you know you youve got to play everyone at some point so why not play them now but uh my prediction is it's going to be 2-1 City obviously I don't think we will we get the three points I do I do believe we'll put in a a concerted effort to uh to press them in in certain phases and I do think we'll see a different approach to what we've seen in the past and that's what I want to see a different approach but um what would be your was your was your guess on the score line and uh yeah then we'll wrap it up I don't I think for as negative as I've been in terms of like saying how City how good City are I think I I wouldn't be surprised if we just Nick a point maybe maybe it's 22 um I think kudus is looking very very sharp and I'd be surprised if he doesn't end up on the score sheet um so you know maybe maybe I'm living in a fancy land but I think maybe a point I'm gonna go two two I'm gonna try and be be [Music] positive hey a point is reasonable it's early season anything can kind of happen in the early season I do think we might see a little bit of a different kind of style we've seen in other times against City or or a big six and that's what that's the thing that I'm looking forward to the most that's what I want to see if we can do that and we lose I'm fine with that as long I just want to see West Ham dry in these games to be a little bit more offensive a little bit more proactive and being less reactive um it'd be good to see a couple of the new kind of new guys in that team so again like Waka in there maybe Somerville book Etc it would be good to see a couple of changes I don't expect to see much I think that will come after International break but yeah man city at home always always a tough game I pray for three points I pray for it h but I think you know City might will have too much for us unfortunately I hate
