an absolutely perfect throw over the right shoulder from Dak to CD lamb and then down in the Red Zone Cleveland's going to All Out pressure Dak gets that ball out of his hands so quickly and throws it to a spot where only Brandon Cooks could go track it down Cowboys up 73 then Rex how was Micah Parsons in this game by the way he was okay he only had eight hits on the quarterback uh by the way you realize nobody can block this man especially Cleveland that was his first sack of the Season there would be looks amazing five minutes in a second hey look and Zeke Elliot is back in a Cowboys uniform in Dallas a 143 lead now it's 20 to3 in the third quarter and this one pretty much put the game away exactly what Cleveland didn't need start the second half try to find a way to get some momentum and Turpin basically goes 60 yards essentially untouched for this Dallas Cowboys special teams unit walks down the right sideline 27 to3 Dallas from that point forward Cleveland just in comeback mode we haven't shown you much to Shawn Watson because candidly he was terrible yeah this one not totally on him there's a little bit of Disconnect between him and Elijah Moore he throws it a little out front Elijah Moore sitting down either way end in an interception Cowboys win big Dak talk to Dak Prescott’s comments me right now it's about celebrating this win tonight um hell of a win with these guys excited for this plane ride back with them uh but turning the page tomorrow getting on to to to the Saints and uh taking it one game at a time but but that's the that that's what is at the Forefront of my mind um not the money it's about holding up my end of the deal and that's winning and and I want to do it here what it means is a big commitment uh to to the next 5 years to our future if you will uh there's a lot of me that thinks uh I'd hope to act as our quarterback for the rest of my time okay so I mean good for him right for all the talk we've had about Dak and his contractor and everything else he got his money good for him if you know our show you know we are going to talk about the Cowboys and I promise we will QB is a problem in Cleveland? get to them in a moment but watching that game yesterday it didn't feel as much about them as it felt about one other storyline what did you put on Twitter yesterday that got every one talking yeah quarterback's a problem in Cleveland and if I was Kevin stefansky I would be thinking long and hard about jamus Winston and moving him to me my starting quarterback they can't run anything in Cleveland one Kevin stefansky the beauty of this offense is that play action pass Kyle Shanahan Matt laflor Gary kubak offense can't run it with DeShawn because Deshawn isn't ready to operate the play action pass he doesn't see the field well he's not throwing in Rhythm and timing he's missing receivers by 6 seven yards not feet I mean okay so third down he's going to climb the pocket right now you have Amari ker working in the middle of the field he's the guy to throw the football to as you make that you throw the ball open now but there's that holding of the football because there's a lack of confidence you have Elijah Moore running this little in or slant this is wide open in the NFL for 60 plus million dos hit your back foot there's no pressure here drive that football to his chest instead it's grounded cuz it looks like he's trying to guide the football Amari Cooper running a slant you're going to get pressure If he hits this Amari Cooper might get 15 20 yards put it on his chest instead instead he's missing him by a yard down in the Red Zone look at the back at the bottom of the screen just throw that that's an easy decision watch where he throws this football in second and 10 in the Red Zone oh that Ball's six or seven yards out of bounds that's just a total waste of a play um there's no rhythm there's no scheme when he calls the play action it's not executed we're not seeing the field and there's egregious misses it's a problem Rex what was the first first thing you said to me when I asked you about this game today I go that's what you put out there you have all off seon you have all training camp and that's what you put out there like they got out coached too like the quarterback okay played like like garbage well that that plan was horrible and first off you can't let Mike a parsa destroy the game part of the reason Deshawn Watson looked as bad as he did cuz they couldn't yeah I don't want to be naive the offensive line did not play well no doubt but here's my here's my thing Rex I don't think this offense you know this offense right this this West Coast Run play action scheme when it's at its best they won't do that or can't do that with DeShawn it's only shotgun when they try to do it sometimes Deshawn's launching it into double coverage so I agree with like the plan may not being ideal but I don't think Kevin stefansky right now can run the scheme that he wants to well then that's on his butt you you you guys signed off on this to Sea Watson great so I mean it ain't just this kid making all the money and all that stuff guy used to be a hell of a player we we seen him one time one time since he went to Cleveland where he looked like the old deshun Watson and that was when he hit 13 straight passes with a shoulder injury Baltimore like and that's it so to me confidence you talked about it before kid is playing with zero confidence zero confidence Who the hell's that on just the kid bull bull it's on the coach as well bull I'm telling you right now I can tell you right now there's ways of of of doing things when you're quarterback's in a funk and by the way when you got when you got uh two backup tackles and how'd the rams look last night with three backup offense alignment they had a plan it's a difference the coach and the and the quarterback were connected right now they're I don't see anybody connected disconnect that Co coaching quarterback I agree to sit there and say there's a way to give him confidence it didn't seem like there was a struggle with with the quarterbacks that played in it last year certainly not Joe flacko with that same type of situation last year when you had two backup offensive linemen in there you had two backup offensive linemen and you're not going to adjust your plan that's on Coach so the he would get in here what what did you see in deshun Watson yesterday well I late eg it it I think to me the thing that's most disappointing you saw from the Cleveland Browns was they went out they got new offensive coordinator they basically tried to change things to appease DeShaun Watson week one and for Deshaun Watson falling short you to go out there and look like that that is all types of red flags for the Cleveland Browns and and Deshawn Watson I think Dan makes a really good point in that look at all the other quarterbacks that's played in Cleveland under stefansky they have played better than DeShaun Watson had in this very same offense this team is isn't going anywhere let's be clear that's what the owner wanted the owner made this deal happen the owner took the contract to a place it had never been the coach winds up it becomes his problem and they've looked better with every other quarterback besides Deshawn Cindy put up 821 for anyone who hasn't seen if you didn't get a chance to see this game yesterday the cowboy defense is good all right but I mean they're not the 85 Bears 43% of Cleveland's plays went for zero or negative yards let me say that again almost half their plays went for zero or negative yards and Deshawn was one of 11 with six sacks so where's the hope where where's the hope you tell me that's my point with the I'm not sitting here saying and everyone's going to go don't overreact to week one this is a couple years now and and you have to sit there and go it's not just can the quarterback play in this system you know this this offensive line is at its best when it's in this play action Zone scheme system both those tight ends are at their best when they're in that Amari Cooper is at his best when they're in that so are we really going to completely change what we want to do offensively and what we've seen work for a quarterback that right now is a giant question mark and I'd also say this there's also no plus plays whether we like it or not once you reach a certain level of Finance in this league the expectation is you're supposed to cover up some stuff and that's not happening either so what's the hope he has he has reached the highest level of Finance until yesterday he had the most guaranteed money of any player in his contract in NFL history he's now been surpassed by $1 million by Dak Prescott yes I I think it come it's come to a point now is the business of football interfering with who should the best interest of the team if you're a veteran player think about this goes back to what we talked about with other quarterbacks coming in in this very same system and and executing at a high level these veteran players in that locker room they've seen that they've seen that and then you keep seeing over over defense right and they've seen that that's when you start getting fraction in the locker room because you keep trotting out the same guy and guys are thinking well it's a contract that's the only reason you're trotting this guy out there clearly he's not he's not executing he's not playing to the level that we expect him to play when do when does it come to aead in Cleveland that's what I want to know yeah well and and I totally get it CU this to me is a championship level defense no doubt then how about we play to it how about we play to it I thought the Cleveland defense was pretty good yesterday given the situation absolutely what does play to it mean play to it means we're we're going to sit back and shorten games when we're facing good opponents we're going to run the football we're going to protect the quarterback first and foremost that's how you do it not spread it out and let the guy DeShaun Watson has never been a guy that's always a rhythm passer he's never been a timing passer it starts with protection first with deshun Watson always has where the hell was it Michel Parson get eight quarterback hits is not protection first I agree but that's why I sit there and I go this scheme needs the quarterback under Center running the football this quarterback isn't he's not operating that and the reality is you're not paying a guy $230 million to have to cover up for his weaknesses right to Dan I understand that you're there but but greeny there's something that you wanted you had to have desperately you had to have he wasn't going to change why the hell would he at the end of the day I think the owner had to have it I'm not 100% sure the coach ever thought he had to have it now having said that as I promised we get to the Cowboys and talk about you said where was the plan Dan we had the two best def maybe the two best defensive players in the league Micah Parsons on one side miles Garrett on the other the Browns had no plan for Micah Parsons what did the Cowboys do with Miles Garrett yeah made sure he didn't ruin the football game I was wrong I thought that Cleveland would dominate this game but the Cowboys offensive plan was very smart in regards to michah Parsons or excuse me miles Garrett wasn't going to ruin the football game number one they put big bodies on the field multiple personnels to make sure that they had people towards him two “They couldn’t block!” backs two tight ends quick play action away from him ball gets out of Dak Prescott's hands very quickly second thing is seven guys in protection with only a fourman rush they got the five offensive linemen and two backs double teaming miles Garrett that gets one-on-one to the outside the perimeter Brandon Cooks easily wins now they'll put two tight ends as a tight end Wing there they're going to bootle away with action and then towards him making sure that they can pin miles G down Dak Prescott then gets Vision outside the constant thing is moving when and where Dak Prescott is going to throw the football miles Garrett's going to be up top what are they going to do they're going to Sprint Dak Prescott out away from him first and 10 easy completions they made sure and I got to give Dallas Credit that Miles Garrett was not going to ruin the football game by very smart use of personnel by committing people towards him and then making sure Dak Prescott was moving away 100% I totally agree with you Mike McCarthy did amazing job and his staff why they recognize they couldn't block miles Garrett okay that's the difference in my opinion right here that's why don't you move the pocket for deshun Watson why don't you do the same exact plan like to me this guy got it and by the way they dominated the whole game all three three phases of it they they had a great plan and like John fossil and special teams absolutely dominated this game the defense Mike Zimmer even though they should have hired me dominated the game and then and and I I mean I'm just telling you this was a great great coaching job by Mike McCarthy who out coach the coach of the year he wins it every damn year and they never win a damn game in the playoffs so to me stop like we want to always flowers you had a guy that at one point was a hell of a player and now he's he looks like we want to bench him now like you need to look yourself in the mirror first if you're a Cleveland Brown coach how about the cowboy side of this thing D what so many questions about them coming in did they answer them for you D-Wood’s thoughts on the Cowboys they look good I mean think about it all the discussion that we talked about with the Dallas cowo all offseason the contract the the fact that the coaches in the last year of his deal all the stuff that really doesn't matter on the field and
