Tyreek Hill UPDATE + Rex Ryan VOUCHES for Russell Wilson?! | Get Up

Tyreek Hill detained for driving violation, released before Dolphins opener in covering the NFL it took place in Miami where police have now launched an investigation after multiple Dolphins players were detained before their game against the Jaguars including and most notably allp Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill it took place about three hours before kickoff Hill said he was pulled over for speeding about a block away from Hard Rock stadium sources told our Jeff Darlington who was right there on the scene that hill was placed in handcuffs after a quote verbal altercation and was cited for reckless driving dolphin teammates Kus Campbell and Janu Smith stopped to offer support for Hill leading to Campbell's detainment for disobeying a direct order Hill and Campbell were released they made their way to the stadium they played in the game Hill said afterwards he did not know why the situation escalated as it did right now I'm still trying to um put it all together um so I'm not going to give you um a verion that I still don't know what happened you know what I'm saying um but I do want to say I do want to be able to use this platform to say like what if I wasn't Tyreek hill bro like worst case scenario you know cuz it's crazy like I want to be a cop one day I got a state trooper had all that you know so I got a lot of respect for cops man but um obviously you know everybody has bad apples in every situation I'm driving to the game you know uh you know the L on in is blocked off I see Tyreek you know and handcuffs I seen it you know for like was excessive force so did not get out the call hard kind of just trying to Jaguars vs. Dolphins reaction deescalate the situation and I think the officer you know uh just you know I don't know why he felt the need to put me in handcuffs but you know I mean it is what it is I'm just glad that my teammates were there to like support me in that situation cuz I felt alone you know and when they showed up um it made like it made me realize that we got aing good team this year dog all right so a bizarre situation to say the least the Miami Dade Police Department director Stephanie v Dan has released this statement following the incident involving Tyreek Hill I have initiated an internal affairs investigation to ensure a thorough review of the matter one of the officers involved in the incident has been placed on administrative duties while the investigation is conducted I'm committed to transparency and accountability to the community with any situation involving my officers so all that happened before the game let's show you what happened in the game the Dolphins in the Jaguars there's Tyreek Hill going this game was being dominated Dan by Jacksonville most of the day up 7 197 going in to maybe put it away and then this play the game Javon Holland punches that ball out if not it takes three points off the scoreboard minimum likely a touchdown look at that left hand come in look at the no no I mean unbelievable man I mean saves the game what a play and you're right game's over right if he puts it in there it saves and turns the game because I'm turning it around the this is the very next play to to Tyreek Hill that's not by accident either you can see a little ball fi pumped to get the safety to drive and then Tyreek replaces no one in the NFL is going to catch him there's the celebration you knew they'd have something like that in store Dolphins down 174 then 4 seconds left after they have tied it this is Jason Sanders on from 52 yds away to kick the game-winning field goal so Miami comes from 10 down in the second half to win two of throws for 338 yards Tyreek Hill had seven catches 130 yards on that long touchdown on this crazy day and so let's try let's talk about the things that we know there will be an investig into what happened we don't know exactly what happened we will not speculate there'll be plenty of time for that however Rex you and I were sitting together when this happened and the first thing you said to me was the coach needs to be there for the player the coach needs to take care of Tyreek hill before anything else before the game what did you see happen no absolutely and kudos to to Mike McDaniel for for that and because I know the player can be totally distri all right and I've seen it happen before a coach can can handle the situation uh correctly or wrongly and to me he obviously embraced the situation and let him know look whatever it is we'll get through it and I'm sure that's how he approached it and and he put his arm around him and say all right let's go and now it was all business because Tyreek Hill looked like the same Tyreek Hill on the field the the fact that and you're going to talk about it later how he was able to focus is a compliment not only to Tyreek Hill but to Mike McDaniel and his and his teammates compartmentalize I think is the word you use that is exactly right you know just for a player in that type of situation to be able to to put it to the side and focus on what the task at hand is not a lot of not a lot of people out here can do that type of thing so kudos to Tyreek Hill kudos to Kus Campbell and and the Miami Dolphins Organization for being able to take a a pretty stressful situation put it behind them and go out there and win a critical football game absolutely and I got to say this look I mean things happen all right and we're not going to rush the Judgment whatever it is all right in in this situation I've dealt with a lot of things as a as a head coach much worse than this actually and it's important the way you handle it do you do you trust your players and all that stuff and I think this this team may grow from something like this where it's like and you heard about Tyreek Hill talking about how his teammates were there the coaches obviously were there as well and so we're going to find out later what what actually happened Steelers vs. Falcons reaction and things like that and and hopefully we'll all be able to get through it and nobody got got uh got injured and that's a big thing Atlanta we learned that Russell Wilson and the calf would not go for Pittsburgh so it's Justin Field's show against Kurt Cousins making his Falcons debut and and frankly he never looked right the whole day Dan yeah so Drake London looks to stop on this route Kirk forces the ball get that first down down and seal the game they would kick their sixth field goal and then you want to seal the game how about if you have Mariano Rivera out there with your closer TJ watt with the sack the Steelers win it 18-10 after the game Justin Fields with the victory talk to me I just came in winning a win and uh I'm glad that we're leaving here with the win so um in terms of who's starting who's not all I want to do is win at the end of the day suggestion performance today affect Russell status as qb1 as stared and you can come ask me that question on Tuesday well I'm asking you that question on Monday yeah Justin Fields would be my starting quarterback Russell Wilson would stay on the bench for me I thought Justin Fields was really good managing this game which is something that we've all wanted to see him take that step understanding the situation defense was dominant they were running the football relatively well I thought he threw the ball down the field to George Pickins incredibly well and didn't miss many of those throws George oneon-one it's going to be a huge part of their offense Justin's going to throw this out route tight man coverage give your guy a shot at his face mask to go make a play fantastic this a massive big cross across the field half R he's going to throw this ball from the 32 33 yd line with 7 seconds left look at this throw that ball probably goes 40 plus yards on an absolute line this is one of my favorite throws of the weekend the gold ball sees the safeties kind of hang low pickings his inside leverage of Terrell don't throw it his outside throw it to bring him just drift him inside a perfect touch throw to pickings down the field I thought Justin threw it really well and then it felt like he wasn't solely dependent on his legs but use them in the right times in an effective way I thought he played much better than the 18 points set Justin Fields the quarterback of the of the pit listen to me of the Chicago bearss got to get used to this of the Steelers next week Yeah well yeah absolutely right now and and look nothing against Russell Wilson because he's not healthy right now so the decision simple and you know me I've always called this guy the future because I love the the ability of this guy right here okay um but the future's a whole string in outs and right now he gets to play again he gets to play again and I thought in the off season it's the best trade uh by far during the season was getting this guy for nothing for a six round pick for a six round pick which was absolutely crazy and and look I get it okay initially when he came in the league he's a better athlete than he is a quarterback no doubt okay and so what so was Steve Young you know what I mean so is Randle Cunningham well guess what they can get better those guys have a a tendency to get better and if all of a sudden this guy hits you're looking at a superstar they're in Denver for a 425 kick this coming week again we'll see who the starting quarterback is you would think Russ Wilson might really like to play in that game against his former team but that's not the primary consideration would you stick with him right now let's say Russell Wilson is healthy enough to play and from what we understand he lobbied to play yesterday are you sticking with the younger guy I am I am he's a more Dynamic Athlete these guys are very similar as far as their quarterback skills concerned but Justin fields from a and re could speak to this from a game planning perspective you have to game plan him differently than you do a a a Russ Wilson and listen I said I I've said I said it last week um coming in the game older quarterbacks don't get healthier yeah they don't get heal so this whole Cal situation that Russell Wilson has been dealing with all training camp it's not going to just resolve itself over night okay so one I think with Justin Fields playing this way Pittsburgh can be relevant in December and make a push to the playoffs I don't feel that way with Russell Wilson at their starting quarterback number two Justin's always thrown the ball well down the field accurately that is going to be an explosive element to their offense two things that they'll have to get better on we saw a couple fumbled snaps early on so that's got to get rid of it um understand matchups a little bit more he still doesn't do a great job with that and they're going to have to figure that out and then the second thing is Justin still can't execute a quick passing game so sometimes quarterback coaches want hey just an efficient quick 5-yard passing game that's not going to be Justin how does Arthur Smith figure out the way to get that without you can't do that with him you know how you talked about when we did the highlights of Dallas and and Cleveland how they how they move the pocket that's what you do but they did that a little bit they did do that a little bit with him exed it well you do it early because quarterbacks are Rhythm type players like you get them going early that's how you but that's going to be their challenge would to me is how does Pittsburgh build in a way to have a rhythm element to their offense without a quick passing game if Fields is the guy right now I got to say this cuz I don't think it's fair to Russell Wilson just to dismiss him if he was healthy he'd be the starter but you're looking at a guy that's a Hall of Fame quarterback a Hall of Fame quarterback we you say oh he's not or really in his first 12 years he's he's had the second most touchdown passes in the history of football yeah he don't I mean you don't just throw this guy out now the opportunity has presented itself right and and and sometimes when opportunity presents itself you got to you got to take it and run they are not going to put Russell Wilson back in there until they have a reason have to ask one more question on this quickly yesterday's my first day on countdown my big take was Kurt Cousins and the Falcons offense is going to be awesome and so they humiliated me yesterday Dan what the actual heck was that scheme wise a complete and total joke you're taking the play action pass King Kurt Cousins you didn't do any play action you were in the pistol meaning the quarterback's in the shotgun back is lined up behind him it felt like every snap pistol Andor gun I don't think they took but one or two snaps from underneath the center there's no play action pass Pittsburgh's defense knew exactly where they were Kurt Cousins would not and could not move completely unexpected out of the Atlantic what say to me Kurt cous is not healthy his ailles that's the reason you think that's why they did it that's why they did it the simple fact that you line up in shotgun and Pistol almost every snap the quarterback can't move even in the ring game so TJ Waton company they sitting there looking like this dude like boys we about to have some we're going to te off let let me make a PSA to the coaches in the NFL okay there's one team that can live in the pistol or gun we watched them play on Sunday Night Football it's the Rams and it's because of the way they motion and the Way Stafford plays for these coaches right now that are living in shotgun or living in pistol you're not going to be good you're doing a disservice to everybody it's not fair to your offensive line you're not going to find ways to be explosive on offense so Atlanta I know it's a new offensive coordinator Zach Robinson really smart kid you can't live in that world yeah it look like I'm watching onea football which doesn't exist anymore but eventually all this stuff's going to be out the window cu the college game members the RPO that's going to be out the window all this kind of stuff it's going to get back to the way football is meant to be played quarterback underneath Center for at least half the time and it opens up your offense it helps your protection you
