The Bigger Picture Intro the bigger picture wow you know what I'm saying wow shout out to The Accidental chat that's watching on uh DJ accidental We Appreciate You accidental viewers and listeners I love accidental viewers and listeners are we live we're good we're good we're going we're going you got an intro Elliot Wilson man hey I'm happy to be here it's going to be a great episode Jeremy hack CCB I'm DJ head I'm last on the call sheet and I'm last on the little thingy that they clack and I and I'm I'm last in the YouTube description I'm last Jeremy puts my thumbnail way in the corner where where he starts to you know how like you do the um what's that [ __ ] called where you opaque the edges uh a vignette a vignette so he vignettes a [ __ ] out the picture okay you know what I'm saying can you vignetta [ __ ] out the picture first of all I don't make the thumbnail okay so I didn't who made the thumbnail who's the fault I'm not going to throw her under the bus for a lovely young lady who makes the at least says that's cap I at least says that's cap she call cap this is Cap wait let me get let me accidentally get off uh live okay Bo just realized I was on liveo you saw I put it in oo you saw I put it in all right the thumbnail was made based on the seating order okay that was it and I will suggest this time how about this I'll take the vignette I'll I'll put myself out there to take the vignette well Le people will still see you and you vign isn't DJ head first in everyone's Hearts though you're first in everyone's Hearts DJ head and you're first know things allegedly the cryptic King they call you man I don't know what you talking about so Kendrick Lamar puts out a record right I don't know where we want to start J what do you want to start I I think we start there I think we start we start there there's a lot happening there's a lot going on bro we start with these dusty ass black Air Force Ones worn out you know some right there stomped on some things for for some big black boots because oh you ready that's how Kendrick's coming in right now he's stomping walking in his big black boots he's big stepping he quite hostile I remember there old Public Enemy record called you're quite hostile shout out to Miles mck he got a song called Big stepping too there you go shout out to miles mck but Kendrick's really angry on This Record Man he seems to very uh disgruntled not disgruntled uh you know very much not liking what he sees I think I called him a hip-hop leader who's looking at the state of the culture he doesn't like what he's saying I I obviously don't think it's a uh Drake disc record I know we're going to talk about our guy academics but um I was excited that he put it out again I just love an active Kendrick to me my take my ear First Take on it is he didn't like the buhaha after the Super Bowl announcement about everyone you know pinning Wayne against him it should have been Little Wayne it should have been this and all the kind of Y Yad y stuff going on on the internet and I feel like it's a it's a response to that more so than anything and a statement record and I think it's a powerful record I like the record a lot and I had even had to get off my guy academic stream yesterday because I felt like he was trying to spin it like this is Kendrick's first misstep and you know he said no round twos and now he starting to back up and I don't I don't really see it that way I I have I have a lot to say but I do want to know first when did when did when did you find out about this song Dropping and can can you confirm uh what you meant by a tweet where you said stay on stream oh you got to tweet it that's crazy stay on stream where you get that from uh X you got hacked again like Shannon sh I accidentally tweeted oh man that's a CL I hate when you accidentally tweet bad man um what's the question at what point did you know that there was a Kendrick song trial yesterday hey Thug did you do that [ __ ] like what you mean bro what you mean what you mean when you said lifestyle what you say did you want him go that's crazy simp simple no just you know some some Insider information PG L trial da to the Kendrick’s New Song Reaction people I I I didn't know nothing I'm not a journalist I didn't know nothing true did you enjoy the record I enjoyed the record um I thought I thought that people's takes on it was wrong but yeah what's it what's your take um I think it's just you know how like um shout out to KLA Harris who watched Donnie in that debate uh dictator D dictator dnie is St a chance against that black woman that black woman went to HBCU bro you should have turned that fade down lot of that should have went around in this past year people should just be turning the Fades down but we see how these things end up um but Kamala Kamala you say Kamala kamla and Kendrick don't mess with either one of them the K I'm K with all these n kamla and Kedrick yeah so I just think that so for me presidents they have a what's called like a State of the Union Address I just think this is kind of similar I think it's like a state of the culture address State culture and I like Ki kind of like a leader of us like like I like when he's active like he's a leader obviously for what he's done but just to see now he could just pop out and put out a song on Instagram that's exciting to me like that that's possible now I think it's a state of the culture address and I think that it's overarching it's not just that one like it's not a I don't this is me speaking for myself Jesus from the clarification me speaking for myself I think that um I don't think it was a diss at anybody specifically I think it was a an address of here's what I see from my vantage point this is what's going on I don't like it and I'm going address it in the way that I know how to address it and you know I think that people I happen to like black Air Forces you know what I'm saying like shout out to my friend Casey who got me to stop wearing them cuz she you know she started like dressing me and stuff like that she said she said I'm a fashion disaster So like um love n straight up and you know so like I like black Air Forces you know what I'm saying they go with everything I wear black La hats everywhere I go I could wear Lakers jersey purple and gold I'm going wear a black La hat just I wear black La hats I like black forces CU it just I just I don't have to think about it you know I got other [ __ ] going on so I don't see why black forces get the bad rap that they get and I'm sure that's not Nike intended when they put him out no I doubt what I doubt that was part of the design but I have a um you know people feel like oh he going on a mission oh it's a kick door like bro it's the shoes well and this may be reading too much into it and I know that there's certain you know cultural references to Air Force ones that I could never understand but what I what I did see when I saw the Air Force wasn't just the black Air Forces it was the creases and the dustiness of those Air Forces almost as if you know you get home you put your your shoes at the door and you took that picture of I just crushed a lot of things I just stomped on a lot of things I went to war I was on a mission I really really went to battle but now the shoes are there and I'm just sitting back reflecting on what happened look what just look what I just did look what I had to go to war with I'm not mad at that but I think that you know that you do people work in all kind of shoes yeah it was yeah but those specifically we know so who okay I have a question for you because you all are you know culturally culturally inclined I don't know Kendrick might not think so he took us all the task all of us IM media um he kind of did though right who deems Air Forces to be the the the Boogie Shoes the Boogie Sho the Boogie Shoes all I know is one time I went on a date with a girl and she was wearing black Air Force Ones you went on a girl and she was wearing black Air black Air Force Ones and she met she met the homies too and when yo jer's life is nuts your life is wild bro she embodied black Air Force activity she never had a name after that I don't personally even remember her name my friends just called her black Air Force One girl did she smile is she was she a friendly type of person was her name star Keisha it no oh no it wasn't no it wasn't another cap Le says this cap again man she'll believe you but okay there's there's a lot to into in this song we need to break it down but actually going back to your Tweet on the academics stream okay so there was those lyrics we can get to the the Drake stuff and we can get to what Kendrick kind of was talking about afterwards but I do think that that was interesting because we are up here as media and he did have those lyrics where he talked about radio personality and he this is what he said he said um the radio personality pushing propaganda for salary let me know when they turn up as a casualty I want Agony ass salt and Battery I see a new Earth filled with beautiful people making Humanity work so it kills us and then it's all beautiful and then it's a new Earth yeah like like a Thanos boom now we got a new new state of the union like you said but that's cuz we're in a world now where there's there's not just academics I mean Maul says things we say things all these people say things and it gets magnified right so I guess it's just saying that again we've talked about it too but it's like other side of it is I feel like again I don't feel like the artist give into the ecosystem either right we can't talk to them so now we have whole culture where we talk about them and that's what exists and guess it gets crazy and I'm sure artists get frustrated cuz they turn on their YouTube Turn on the internet and all they see as us commenting about this [ __ ] all day long but they don't talk to us either so there's no Clarity and that is part of the state of the culture but it it's very extreme what he's saying there and I don't think it's just about academics I think it's just about the culture that exists of the commentators the personalities the media itself has become the thing that fuels media M you know and and I think when I when I first heard that what came to mind was not just that people are talking about the artist I think that's one thing you know if you talk about the state of the culture if you talk about the music if you have an opinion I don't think any artist is going to be mad at that what I think he was fed up with here is the clear bias that people have when they're not willing to tell the truth for a reason right like there's people who we clearly know like you could call out I know we've seen Funk Flex say things we've seen Ma say things we've seen academic say things we've seen Aiden Ross say things recently where it's clearly intended to maintain favor with the person they're talking about now there's not not to say that you have to diss the person like you're friends with Kendrick you are actually you know close with him you wouldn't just get up here and disrespect a guy that you know for the sake of it but there is something to be said of delusion for the sense of either wanting the call wanting the Friendship to maintain say his name Jeremy heck I just said all their names oh okay I don't think it was directly towards Z I think academics was clearly the leader of the Drake propaganda Army I won't say that he's not truthful in other things that he says but he's he maintains a relationship with Drake right but him and Maul have clearly been those people that have kind of been the mouthpie for Drake whether intentional or not I don't think Drake says hey go say this but I do think he talks to them he gives them information they say gave M information in the last and then Aiden Ross was recently on act stream and saying like you know Drake like they're basically saying Drake won this battle so but I just think it comes down to I'm sure DJ head agree you just have to call it fair if DJ head didn't like the Kendrick record I think he would say he wasn't really feeling it and that not in a disrespectful way but it's like it's one thing if you're not really stating how you feel because you're playing into whatever you think your strength is it's going to get you more views or more audience but your whole thing is you have to be honest I'm a fan of Kendrick and I'm a fan of Drake obviously I've had my Fallout with Drake as everyone knows and I think Kendrick got the better of the battle and he won it's as simple as that I don't think the Kendrick song here is some sort of misstep I don't think he's trying to do round two I think it's a great record that's commenting more so the backlash of the Super Bowl announcement I think you just have to say how you really feel but I think that people do get pulled into feeding the narrative that they know works for them which is this is my position you know I've said on on this show that I didn't I don't like meet the grams I told dot that I don't like meet the grams it's it's too much for me it's too scary you know what I'm saying it's a lot you know what say it's a lot to like have on your spirit so Ian but you didn't feel the same way this way cuz this record is dark too like nah this ain't that bro meet the grams was disturbing yeah actually you just saying the title I get Shivers bro it's not it's just it's a disturbing thing bro but I call it think this isir like there's artists I mean we talked about it too like me and Jeremy have talked about it where there's artists especially in my city who I've been critical of uh because I want them to do better and I told them that behind closed doors and then when it came out I told him like Hey I didn't like the record or I don't like the verse or I don't like the hook or whatever like I'm I do have my biases but my biases don't lie in the critique of the art my biases lie in my in my ability to know what their potential is because I'm close to them right so it might it could be a YG or a Rody rich or you know even a RJ you know what I mean or Zama like I I will tell them like hey I don't like this record and I've had I've had an interesting interaction with you know a legend where it went it went back bad because I shared a critique of mine and I was like bro you taking this like too personal and it's like no it's just it's not personal I'm critiquing the art like I'm still a fan of yours I don't wish harm on you I don't want you to go broke I just don't like the art you know what I mean it's not it's not personal but because people pour them you know themselves into it like we were talking about Big Sean a lot of it is personal to them you know what I mean so to your point I think when you critique someone's art you have to be clear that this is a art critique and not a personal attack and I think that the the people who you spoke on blur those lines because they aren't they're not journalists well they're not have to any standard that way is what they're saying they're they're not coming from a perspective of I'm going to just call it like I see it they're coming from a perspective of advocation or they're coming from a perspective of personal feeling right just like when we when y'all that's why I don't do lists because no one has the nuance to decipher that I'm not saying Kendrick is a better rapper than Jay-Z I'm saying that it from he's my top over this you get what I'm saying and people just aren't I don't know if they don't have the bandwidth or the wherewithal to understand what Nuance is but it matters yeah well and and I think that to the point of nuance people even were really lacking Nuance in deciphering this song like the word integrity comes to mind not only when it comes to Media but when it comes to Kendrick trying to maintain this integrity and I think this is another example of him not admitting Perfection not acting like you know even if he is a leader he's not stepping out there and saying I'm better than everyone I'm some God what he's saying is I struggle like even the whole Lae thing and and the he he prays on on the hook for clarity he prays for the ability to maintain integrity and he he kind of admits his flaws he says you know like what would lrae do he's basically saying I'm not maybe as Godlike or as pure as somebody who's you always to the tea with the Christianity or when it comes to their religion or their faith I will go to war and he's and he's kind of struggling here I almost see it as like you know how after which is why I think the double standard is crazy but you know after Drake and meek Drake did a lot of reflecting on his songs I do not disturb he's talking about like what what would happen they tried to get me out of here but like I never lose because I'm always one step ahead he's always reflecting on this battle this is Kendrick looking from a bird's eye view in my opinion looking down at the state of hip-hop at the state of Twitter like you said at the state of this battle what has happened and going did I do the right thing should I move forward should I now not talk about this again should I go back I don't know if I want to go back or is this maybe just a new path that I can try to carve out like he talk round two it's not round two no round I do not think that this is a round two and I think he has the right to reflect on a battle that we're we're clearly still talking about it was one of the if is he not allowed to mention what just happened without it being a dis I don't think he's like I'm not going to ignore the fact that he's throwing clear but it's not I love I love the part where he talks gives more insight to himself which is he says he's not enthused to you know to drop sometimes because he doesn't like being in the Limelight like that he's made that pretty clear like he says Drake likes that Drake you like to be famous you know Drake's led us in this omnipresent kind of way for many years right and now Kendrick seems like our leader and it's a different type of leadership where even he himself says because of what he sees in the state of things it Mak it turns him off it makes him not want to be out and be out here and I think that's very telling he says they wonder why I'm not enthus to drop the more visible you get the more your spiritual is tried that's true 100% um my spiritual advisor told me a couple years ago she said the enemy is not going to just roll out the red carpet and let you walk into the life that you want for yourself or the life that you know your higher power wants for you so it's going to come from every direction personal attacks it's going to come from inside your circle it's going to come from all of all different directions so I definitely relate to that the part that resonated with me though was about the women I think that that was that was like that was really interesting to me because it was it spoke on the state of masculinity and these in in men conducting themselves in a feminine manner you know what I'm saying um from a from a Bravado standpoint right um but then also like where he was talking about how women got to be the the strong ones you know what I mean like I thought that was really dope because that's literally been my thought process most of this year is like because you got to like think about the the the rise of female MCS think about the rise of even like what we going through politically I was thinking about all of it like yeah we may have a woman president exactly I was thinking about all of it right this year significantly we've seen an increase of praise for female artists in general across the board right the NFL showed Taylor Swift more than they showed the goddamn football game more than Mahomes you know what I'm saying you know what I'm saying like so then I'm thinking about that then I'm going then I'm going and I'm looking at female rap like the top Mo like if you take away all of the noise that's going on right now most of the most of the the people the artists that are that been super relevant are women right throughout the whole course of everything so then I'm looking at it from a personal standpoint and I'm looking at all of the women around me and I'm like damn like they really are the backbone of everything so I think that that I feel re yeah I feel for the women that deal with the clown and nerd [ __ ] can't blame them today they ain't really got much to work with careful in here Jeremy how many [ __ ] harder than a lot of you guys would trade all of y'all for nip I can't be proud of you so um I feel for the women that deal with the clown [ __ ] me too and and I relate to that because it's a lot of clown and bu going on and from his I can't speak for him but from his V me knowing him I understand that because you look around and that's all you see like this is I guess so when I had glorilla on my show when I had when I interviewed glorilla yeah GL she was saying like yeah I called my men hoes oh man like straight up like like to them though she was like yeah you know my hoes know what it is I'm like well you can't call [ __ ] hoes you can't do that glor you know what I'm saying you can't be just going around I'll give you I you can insert the clip but I'm like you can't really do that she was like I can't she didn't even know said why she didn't even know it was wrong yeah she was like yeah like she had no idea I'm just like bro like what the [ __ ] is so anyway my point is that's the temperament and so I really resonated with this it well to that point it is it is kind of this overarching state of the culture of whether it be media we have women we have the state of rap we have even I think the state of substance with Fame like he talked about uh the if if all you have is gluttony and you give no truth to the youth like if all you're doing with your platform whe whether that be in Media or rap or TV or politics if you have a microphone and you are not giving anything of substance to the people you are wasting your spot louder for the people in the back louder that again say it again if you're not giving anything no no go back a little bit more if you platform start at platform okay if you have a platform and you have a microphone and you have a voice that people are able to hear and people can potentially resonate with what you're saying and you are simply giving them drama or gossip or [ __ ] and you have no substance or no truth then you are doing a disservice with your voice voice and you are not actually doing the proper job with the microphone damn I remember somebody saying something similar to that last episode a brilliant young man a brilliant man there was there was uh something he was a black hat aot too yeah there was something that you said do you want to you want to cut the tape back that's crazy that that's crazy okay so let me tell you what's Wild this is a wild coincidence right coincident I said something like that yeah right um we get more messaging like that through ART yeah and then Jeremy he reiterates the same point it's it maybe it just took a week to set in it's a wild coincidence I can't I can't Echo the the lessons I no I'm not saying I'm not I'm not saying I'm you're in the right oh okay okay I'm saying it's a it's a kinky it's a universal kinky dink that this is all unfolding God is gotten God is got it learning God is got or maybe because this this could be a read it again this could be a recent uh here this is this is the okay if you parade in gluttony without giving truth to the youth the graveyard is company just tell us what casket to choose geez that's not Mr Grahams dog meet the Grahams dark Sinister dark it's it's truth to power if you have a platform I reiterate yes if you have a platform and you are disseminating nothing of sustenance or intellectual value you are doing a disservice to the culture and the community what are you doing with your platform to empower is my question this is to everyone general statement general statement it and and maybe you know you say Kendrick sees everything there's a there's a potential maybe he saw what you were saying I have no knowledge of that but because this is a recent song it feels like like you were talking about the Super Bowl stuff this song uh the time code was L had an interview where he was praising Kendrick and obviously L's mention so it feels like he made this he may have had a sketch of some of the things he wanted to say but he pretty much D too yeah got shout out also so clearly he made this record recently it has recent references to things to me again to go back to Super Bowl announcement I think that was crazy the backlash that all of a sudden the timeline became Little Wayne got robbed cuz he's from New Orleans like I don't understand how we got there like I don't I don't think that's cool at all I think it's it's a big thing for hip-hop artist to headline a Super Bowl obviously we know Jay-Z rockd are in charge of that making NS happen but even when they did Dr Dre they couldn't even just do Dr Dre they had to have an whole ensemble around Dr Dre so this is a huge step for our culture to have One Singular hip-hop artist headlin the Super Bowl and we turned it into this like Kendrick Lamar versus Little Wayne Little Wayne got robbed because he from New Orleans like just because he's from New Orleans that doesn't qualify him in this 2024 or 20202 to headline of super Super Bowl Wayne doesn't have current hits or recent hits that put him to the status that he was in Carter free era Little Wayne so why we act like little Wayne would have gotten booked to host the Super Bowl Missy Elliot would be more qualified to me because he's coming off a great tour than Little Wayne at the time and again it stepped on Kendrick's announcement and I feel like part of that is that is discussed with that because it's like he doesn't really pop out like that this is a huge accomplishment and we turned it into something about little Wayne which I thought was unnecessary well he did so this the the area or the area code for New Orleans is 504 and the time code on watch the party die was 504 go again with that Sinister [ __ ] I definitely think he Loop that instrumental a couple more seconds for that reason but I think to and we'll probably all have different opinions on this but with the Super Bowl I think it was a valid argument for more than valid argument for Wayne in this scenario maybe not other Super Bowls but the reasoning why people were so upset in my opinion was so to your point it usually is a legacy act right like if you look at the his of Super Bowls usually it's a legacy act either looking to you know showcase what they've done over the course of life or revive their career or maybe they've taken a break and they're coming back and showcasing their hits it used to be a relevancy game before the whole Janet Jackson Kendrick vs. Lil Wayne Super Bowl Justin Timberlake thing happened and then it went to full Legacy act now when Jay took over in 2020 he was trying to do a good job I think of making it a relevant act to the city to some degree right you had like Shakira JLo and and Jay Balvin in Miami I believe where it was like you know still Latin music even though they're not all from there then you had uh Usher in Vegas when he had a huge Vegas residency and he brought Atlanta on the Super Bowl you had la which was clearly Dr Dre Kendrick Snoop and so if you're looking at the history of that timeline since Jay got there it would make sense to have some sort of New Orleans representation at the New Orleans Super Bowl now with Kendrick's pick it was different because this is the first time since the the Janet Jackson incident I think I gotta relook at it since then that we've had a relevant act and who's more relevant right now than Kendrick so if you're going by that at the height of his situation it's it's a great pick none of us saw this coming right like that kend was going to play the Super Bowl did did you have any did you have any uh inclination inclination when y'all found out champ what was your initial why did none of us see that coming I guess because also he was part of Dre's thing so it's also interesting for him to come back to do the Super Bowl so fast since he did appear like like can he even do all right again cuz he did right that like does he do all right in the set of this again right run it back yes so okay here we go breaking news DJ certified cover boy um Jeremy hect yes so in 200 let's go back to 2017 okay oh no let's go let's go even number 2015 Katy Perry and Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliot in Phoenix yeah okay then we then we go 2016 Co Play Beyonce and Bruno Mars in the bay yeah then we go 2017 Lady Gaga and Houston y um then we go 2018 um Justin Timberlake in Minneapolis M okay then we go 2019 this is is this the beginning no okay 2019 um Atlanta Maroon 5 Travis Scott right okay and then this is when Jay-Z comes in Jay-Z takes over right or Rock Rock Nation yeah Rock Nation takes over 2020 Shakir and Jennifer Lopez Bad Bunny in Miami yeah yep which one of them is from Miami I so I would say that that was uh a way of getting the Latin culture involved in the Miami halftime show which is a very prominent in Miami it's not a mi none of them none of them are from Miami 2021 the weekend um in Tampa where where's the weekend from I don't think there's any connection there he's Canadian he's from Canada okay so are you right yeah okay 2022 Inglewood right here wood yeah Dr Dre yeah obviously it makes sense yeah okay so why does it have to make Hometown sense I don't understand the point What's So Super Bowl um in in in Arizona Usher right no that was in I thought it was in Vegas I mean Vegas Usher he had Vegas residency yes Usher then before that Rihanna was in Arizona yeah which no relev so the reason I did that is for the internets yeah right all the internets who let's just let's just quiet this down it never has been about geography no not historically not historically has never been about geography the teams who play in the Super Bowl don't get to play at home okay that's just not a thing it would have been nice to see wayne you know in his hometown sentimentally because we love Wayne the world doesn't feel like that they just want to see a great show it's no different than I look at the radio they don't care about sentiments or lyric breakdowns they just want to hear their favorite record right so when you when you have a a show of this magnitude and then I'm not even tripping off them stepping on the moment I'm not tripping about Nikki being mad Wayne none of that stuff that's not what I'm tripping about I did that for the internet because I think again there's no Nuance there's lack of education and people not sharing these things on their platforms when they talk about these things that it matters the Nuance matters right it's never been about geography it's never been about home thing it would a HomeTown I think what Jay I mean what rock nation has done is curated that culture one time yeah and now that's the expectation and that's the problem when you give whiny kids what they want you know what I mean you can't you can't the United States of America does not negotiate with terrorists the other side of it I agree with everything you're saying I also think that the thing they also made a part of is that Wayne himself like we talk about the Grammys Wayne did campaign for it he did say in multiple interviews that it's in New Orleans look at your boy and then he one of the interviews he did say I'm going to put the work in to make it undeniable what you do to DH [ __ ] I want I gotta ask you got I'm just ask a question Wayne I know I know the answer but I gotta ask you of course the Super Bowl is in New Orleans um I think is in 2025 something like I'm not sure not I'm come I'm not sure I don't they know I can I would not lied to you I am not have not got a call I'm cam J but we all praying you know we praying we keeping our fingers crossed I'm working hard I'm going to make sure this next album and everything I do is killer so I'm going make it very hard for them to I want to just make it hard for them not to I don't think he put the work in to make it undeniable no shot at Wayne again I'm accused of being real critical of Wayne by DJ has but I Love Lil Wayne you don't like Wayne or I love Wayne I love Wheezy I had to dust off old Cash Money cover back in the day to show it but no but I love no but I don't think there's not a there's not a recent solo even solo song from Little Wayne that we're listening to but there's not he done great guest appearances in recent years but it's like so he it's not like the Usher thing where Usher did put the work in with the Vegas residency to earn to earn the look that he got with the Super Bowl Wayne he said I want to do New Orleans don't look at your boy I'm going to put the work in he didn't put the work in to me to make that happen it's not like he had a hit record in this any recent years so now here's the other thing too I don't think it's about hit records either no it's a legacy like pop culture like it's been a legacy thing I know people and I don't want to get into the we of it but I know people who put together halftime shows right these are the music people these are the the executives who literally curate the halftime experiences right I know a a lot of sports uh people I mean you know Pepsi I know people no I know people in these positions who are responsible with the budgets and everything right it's never about a hot record or a hot this and even from a and this is again the advantage I have actually DJing in public um in public when you go somewhere and you do an event or a venue you're not catering or pandering to one specific demographic you have to please everyone simultaneously pop culture the whole wi it's a US Global thing it's a global thing it's not even about that so it's not about being hot because you could be hot in in California not be hot in Florida or you could be hot in the United States and not be hot in Canada or be hot in Canada and not be hot in Bali like it's not the same thing so when you're curating these things it's not about being hot it's not about relevancy I don't think it's about none of that it's about catalog and it's about appeal right Global appeal Mass Appeal at the end of the day this is a business and we keep ignoring this this part of the game when people are discussing these things on their platforms this is a business just like you have your platform and you get paid and all that which was addressed in the record these these entities have businesses that they want that they need to run right and so they're like how can we get the most amount of people to watch this so we can sell ads yeahh it's the most watched telecast it's the biggest it's the biggest thing that people watch in culture in in in everything right americ culture in American when you don't Factor those things in you get on the internet and you sound crazy because you don't because you lack Nuance of how these things work it's not and then to Elliot's point I um I want to go back to that uh it doesn't M I don't think it matters about being hot when you look at Dot's catalog and you look at Wayne's catalog they're both substantial cataloges I don't think you could deny Wayne in any way like shape or form I was with them we were signed the Cash Money during the YMCMB run all right I've talked about I don't know if I told you about this but I was there I was at the lollipop video shoot I was there I saw my own eyes I was there during the Carter 3 I opened the Carter 3 tour in California at at the freso arena wait who was who was signed yeah exactly I don't G Mal GL Malone he was sign the cash money I was there for all of that right I saw with my own eyes weigh at the height of his PO at the 100% Pinnacle of everything right and his work ethic is where I got my work ethic from it's where at me and my internal team we got our work ethic from Wayne Kendrick even said the same thing that's a fact he said they Wayne literally we were shooting a video called haters in Atlanta Wayne would get off his bus shout to Jeff Panzer he would go shoot the video shoot his scene and he'd be like Jeff how much time am I got he was like we got 30 minutes till we reset the cameras he'll go back in the bus and record another [ __ ] song I'm not even making this [ __ ] up he did it I saw these things with my own eyes so that's not to be remiss I hate the discounting discounting of Wayne because of do that's not I don't like that narrative at all been clear what have influenced Kendrick's been on him I Wayne's been on him you can't take away what Wayne has done or contributed all these dudes are Little Wayne's sons yes not saying dot but I'm saying most of the people who do the thing are Wayne Sons that's a fact we can't deny that whether it's looks sounds whatever the case may be right we're not taking away from Wayne's Legacy but I do want to point out that it's not about being hot whether Wayne was hot or not he still has a substantial catalog to substantiate a Super Bowl performance I think that this decision was made just me speaking for me personally I think this decision was made strictly it's just great business it's just good business I think so I think the thing that was missing in a lot of the conversation was which is I think I tweeted like no one on the timeline has any idea what went on behind the scenes in this business decision so why are we all talking about it business-wise I think you can be critical you can voice your opinion of like wanting Wayne to be on the Super Bowl wanting for him to be at the halftime but what I didn't like and I hate to see is the discrediting of one or the other because you want the other one to be in that spot like Kendrick has had an incredible year you don't need to take away from Kendrick's year or why he would make sense for the Super Bowl because you want Wayne Wayne is an absolute Legend like you said we don't need to discredit Wayne's live performances or call him out Wayne doesn't have the songs Wayne could do a Super Bowl performance and Kendrick could do a Super Bowl performance now what I will say and I have some questions for you about this is I don't want to ignore the fact the hover in the room that the the big the big hve in the room uh we're switching to the HOV lane a California reference right now okay I like that so there is some relationship history that may have murked the water when it comes to this decision even if it wasn't the full reason so we do have to acknowledge that cash money and Jay-Z Rock Nation have had history of problems correct at least back and forth okay at least there's been there's been Birdman shots there's been Wayne def Wayne actually took shots at Jay on the Carter for history okay there's a rich history between those two there's also a weird history between Wayne's Mentor or mentee Drake and Jay-Z they've gone back and forth I personally don't even want to even go back to the title stuff I know that they've taken shots on record there was the Rolling Stone cover there was the title thing but even in recent times there was some stuff I know on Joe's podcast they mentioned like there was some stuff with honestly never mind there was clear shots at Jay's artist Megan from Drake there was some stuff you know he's cool with Tory there's there's a lot to go on behind the scenes Jay Z, Drake & Lil Wayne History now also you posted a bunch of pictures that went viral on Twitter of Jay-Z and Kendrick together right he he hopped on the remix on on uh [ __ ] Don't Kill My Vibe there's been a clear mutual respect he talked about Jay told me one verse can [ __ ] up the whole game which is about control most impactful verse of all time and so when you look at the actual business behind things which you talked about it being a business could it be possible that someone like who in power wouldn't want and he's human you know what I mean if you don't like somebody and you have the opportunity to put somebody in position where you're maybe not putting the person you don't like right now on stage or the The Entity cash money or Drake or Wayne or Birdman whoever someone you have a little issues with he doesn't have issues with Wayne right now on stage could it be possible that that could play well here's the thing by booking Kendrick for the Super Bowl which DJ had say is is a brilliant business move and I think it is also because of the uh the again again it's not about cab but you want people at the peak of their sort of appeal their Mass Appeal their pop appeal and Kendrick with this Drake battle has elevated himself even further you already had legendary catalog was already one of the icons and the greats but him having this battle with his rival that's also of that generation and coming out the victor of it has raised his profile immensely as we know so yeah booking Kendrick now changes everything because now Kendrick can now we said when's Kendrick give us give us an album album now he can wait till next year to give us an album now he can drop an album around the Super Bowl just like Usher did it probably makes more sense for him because there's going to be more eyes on him than ever before so by by Jay or Rock Nation making that decision to say Kendrick Lamar it does alter hiop history to sort of place Kendrick as even more sort of this clear Victor of that beef that he can now wait till next year to put a record out he could do not like us on the whatever way he does it whether he's just a marching band doing the instrumental or you know whatever it is and it it elevates everything so I understand people being in their feelings and being upset because that's what it was but at the end of the day I think Jay does what Jay does which is he's a very warm-hearted good dude but when it comes to business he's a businessman and he's going to do what he thinks is the best powerful move to make and that was the most powerful move and none of us saw it coming but you think powerful in terms of effect on effect on culture effect on culture affect on everything affect on business like affect on hipop it elevates everything to me I think that we're going to look back not like us is the greatest this song of all time Kendrick Lamar again we feel like if he comes with another classic album may he probably goes above Drake in my alltime category right then I have a ho Kendrick Drake instead of a ho Drake Kendrick like it Alters everything but look everybody clown Jay when he took this gig at first let's let's remember that too and now when you get in a position where you can call shots and make decisions you know it's important other thing I want to say is I had some Intel I thought ma was capping I thought he was ly about Drake turned it down multiple times right he he said you know Drake Drake's turned down the Super Bowl a few times that sounded wild it was like like four times who turns out a Super Bowl that many times even a was like how many times he turn it down why would he turn it down the sticky part about all this is Drake has been offered this Super Bowl show for some years now and has turned it down probably four years he's been offered to perform at Super Bowl said no for whatever reason whatever reason he just didn't did he tell you that or is that like a known thing I didn't know that I had never heard that either what that who Drake oh yeah said no well he has Drake has turned down the Super Bowl a few years why do you think he's turned it down because that's really interesting to me uh I have an authority my my multiple my multiple sources have told me that Drake has and D turned down a Super Bowl he actually turned down the first two the one in Miami and the weekend one that was the first two that Jake took over yeah so so Jay takes over and again his rival whatever Drake like you talk about all these history and this back and forth I mean these guys are all rivals with other they've had their good times and bad times with each other but business-wise Jay-Z wanted Drake on that Super Bowl stage and he turned it down twice so now years later when an opportunity is asked of Kendrick and Kendrick says yes just just is Jay not playing Fair there like I like should Drake feel way about it when he's known himself he's had opportunity to do thats it and he's turned it down that changed my opinion did you did you ask why he would have turned it down I don't know why but he did turn it down he was offered it twice so Justice For allall Justice for M justice for all he did it wasn't four times but it was two times but yeah it's a powerful move it shifts culture because now again it goes back to just the hip-hop fomy what does Drake do what is Drake's counter to all this like what like he can literally Kendrick's extended this moment people thought the the critics thought not like us is just okay it's control it's great but it's momentary it's not long lasting right it won the battle but it's not like going to run the whole summer then it ran the whole summer and then now it's extended it to next year yeah you know what I'm saying and then like again why would Kendrick put out an album before next year now it's extending everything so yeah if you're Drake what do you actually do how do you counter this momentum that Kendrick fully has going on right now think you step back come back summer next year which is what he don't won't do look at look how happy DJ head is well come back next summer I'm chilling okay well when it comes to the round tooth stuff I I have a I have something to say yeah uh I pray for the amount of Grace and like astute I'm I I play I I pray for the amount of Grace and like like um I don't know what the white verbiage is but I guess Serenity that Jay has I pray for that I really I really patience that's what Kendrick talk I really I really really residing in patience I really pray that I get to that level in life where I don't respond to anything and I don't have to feel the need to defend myself I Jay took a job with the NFL in the middle of the [ __ ] storm right in the middle of the [ __ ] storm right we talking about covid we talking about we talking about take uh uh Colin cap um we talking about all of that stuff right and he got flamed for it I mean every everybody was flaming Jay for this right yep because nobody can see the bigger picture right and so this strategy that my team and I use it's just get in the room and bring value that's it now you might even not even like the room that you're in I spoke on this before you might not like the state of radio or the Grammys or whatever but what are you doing with your platform right yeah Jay's DNA is all over these things that are happening if if Maul is correct and Elliot validates that okay uh Drake has been offered this position twice and he turned it down that's on him that's on him between him and his team and they and they creators right we don't know why he did that it could for good reason we don't know it could be the budget it could be anything deal album we don't know that's not the point the point is this man right here his ability to not give a [ __ ] is top tier I'm talking to now I'm and this coming back to Wayne the meek situation right him doing all of the stuff for reform and being involved in the Meek Mill situation um the NFL right the stuff with even Salange the if you go all the way back and then come all the way up right even the new Al even the new stuff with puff and then they're trying to drag Jay into it right then you R all the way back to around around to um to Wayne Elliot Wilson you covered all of this stuff am I wrong in in in am I wrong in believing that Jay did in fact try to assist Wayne through the through the Wayne said on the record that Jay's helped him with taxes and other issues with his career he is yeah okay absolutely so why is the why are you people with these platforms coming for this man I have no idea what the what the problem is Right Drake has been offered the Super Bowl twice and turned it down correct yes Jay helped Wayne right yes what is the problem the problem is that it's elevating Kendrick Lamar to his status in this battle so let's stay there and set the said let let's stay there let's let's again going back this moment this battle lives on going back to what I said earlier about people with platforms anding these platforms it's okay to be biased it's okay it's okay to feel how you feel let's not conflict these facts and information with how you feel that's where [ __ ] gets [ __ ] up yeah well even what you just that information changes my opinion right I was posing the question could we all doubted that Maul was being right there right like why would he that doesn't sound right like why would we not know that like that type of thing but it seemed like it was just a grand standing about it like well I could have done it but you didn't and now the timing is set up for this but so what do you guys think of that though my theory about how that does extend the moment right in that sense and like he could build a whole marketing strategy around that now he could drop his album around the Super Bowl appearance and you know is is that giving him too much of an advantage play Devil's Advocate it's not giving him too much Advantage it's just people are emotional you know in our great state of California which you two relocated to because it's better to better quality of life West co co in our great state of California we have gun laws strict gun laws right and the gun law indicates that when you purchase a firearm legally when you purchase a firearm legally you have to have you have to wait a week before you can pick up the firearm right now that's a grace period and that's for a reason you want to know why because if Elliot Wilson gets mad at his partner or Jeremy heck gets mad at his partner you know what I'm going to end this all today and you can just go down to the gun shop and get a gun and fire it off watch the party die they're like no let's give him five to seven days of cooling down that way if you still want to crash out by all means crash out you know what that is equate food to me in in this modern ER era which was addressed in the regular the dot drops this so we need to figure out what this is at the at some point right because now I can just crash out with no information immediately immediately you hear info boom I can just crash out right now like hey you know what oh I feel a way about Elliot Wilson shirt let me [ __ ] Elliot Wilson in his weird ass shirt [ __ ] you know what I'm saying like is he with the bees and the Seas you get what I'm saying like so like that's a real thing and and also never mind I can't speak on that but um yo we need the compilation I can't speak I've heard things confirm I've heard things about Drake right I've heard things about him and the things that he's done behind closed doors and I know for a fact that he has done things right he's also helped people and and and benefited people absolutely um what kind of thing can you give a no okay one thing I will give credit to that I actually implemented into my life is I'm going to give something a couple of sleeps 48 hours 48 hours I think he does three three days I'mma do two if I still fill away two days later2 hours then I'm crashing out online yeah yeah and so I think we should figure out well not we I think you all with microphone phones and platforms and and thumbs should Implement these types of things opposable thumbs you should Implement these types of barriers into your life Elliot Wilson included you know what I'm saying I we're scolding everybody like Kendrick this episode I'm just saying like State of the Union it's a real thing bro and I just the outrage is crazy and people didn't have no information yeah that's yeah biggest part they I saw I saw somebody some some people were hitting me up turning the whole thing into the the Super Bowl announcement turning it into dot versus Drake part two right and I'm like bro Drake turned it down how was so yeah it's like bro what you mean like the homie accepted he didn't yeah right and now wouldn't be the moment to offer Drake the Super Bowl anyways why not Jeremy heck because if well go back to that the point I want to make too like when Nicki when Nicki crashes out and even Birdman comes out pops out n no no no I'm just saying did it doesn't come from just completely like um giving place like we know if if Little Wayne did get booked in Imaginary Land he probably would bring out Drake and Nicki Minaj or he as come so Nicki Minaj would touch that Super Bowl stage so when they're outraged and saying that Birdman Birdman would be right there on the floor whether he get on stage or not so they would go to Super Bowl they would be celebrated the legacy of Cash Money young money cash money would be celebrated so they're not like these outside principles that aren't getting a look out of that so when they're upset they're genuinely upset because it would be their moment too with their gu so you think it's rud and selfishness it's not roted and complete selfishness but but let's call it like we're being honest right we're scolding and being honest this episode you don't come from this unbiased place that's your guy he's the leader he's your Mentor he put you and Drake on he built two other icons yall would touch that stage together in New Or celebrating your Mentor it' be a beautiful moment right if you look at it culturally that way and then that was decision wasn't made the other decision was made to celebrate this guy who's become again our he's become our leader right now the number one guy in Hip Hop is Kendrick Lamar right now say it again and now he's being celebrated you heard me the first time he's being celebrated and brought it to 2025 as our as the guy he's a rat he's a different type of leader wait did he move up to number did he move up and and if not if he didn't move up in your list he's not there yet no I said you he needs the album somebody tweeted and said um you know we got to now Kendrick look at the alltime rankings and I I quote TW I said exact the Mundo and Roy to 59 that and put that in his IG yeah I'm I'm still holding out again DJ has said this was unfair last time I said it I need another Kendrick Lamar great classic album and then he will move into number two and Elliot like anybody gives a [ __ ] the Elliot Wilson rankings of Jay-Z kendri Drake oh God instead of Jay-Z Drake Kendrick it's crazy man but no you guys still keep ducking the fade why what is it fair that Kendrick's moment is now being extended because of the Super Bowl announcement he can wait till next year to put a record out and it sort of like further draws his divide of like how historically Victory lap type one of this battle is there's at least a mark in the sand to look forward to beforehand you know we were going off of your cryptic uh I'm not cryptic you're you're okay you're vague um saying of he's not dropping right now but you did say you did say March seems reasonable next year so we were kind of thinking he did say that I think you did say that last episode I'm say that you didn't say that I think we asked FYI oh yeah yeah FY and you said FYI said March okay so the AI we'll clarify the AI said March for some reason I implemented that that in my head and I was okay with that I was like you know what I'm waiting I don't need any more Kendry that's why yesterday I was so excited when he dropped cuz I was not expecting yo Jeremy hit the group chat and said wait what's happening wait don't be you just see me jump off my couch like literally I jumped off my couch I did a little lap around I was like oh my God just Dro and then I saw you said stay on stream um but okay the the round two thing I think does need to be addressed because there's all of this speculation on both sides it's kind of become a mess I do think that Kendrick did address it a little bit playing into the Super Bowl announcement of but he's playing into so Drake had the the comment where he said he posted the Rasheed Wallace clip and and it said uh we're gonna win game two right Kendrick's Super Bowl announcement said there's only one opportunity to win championship a championship there are no round twos academics tweets round two we're ready let's go two days later Kendrick drops a song dis throws shots at Drake but doesn't drop a diss track it was not a diss track I stand on that and then academic tweets no round two just drop hits are we in a round two are we not in a round two what is going on well you're a journalist asking another journalist you tell me I say round two a great a great living one no no no greatest the greatest journalist I've ever seen so you tell me I say there is no round two and no and I don't think that Kendrick is playing into it I think he clearly crushed the round two rumor with the Super Bowl announcement I don't think him reflecting on the beef is inciting around two and I would actually love to see what we talked about if he said just just drop the hits that's Drake's job right now I think Kendrick like you said his his window is extended to next year if Kendrick doesn't drop another thing the rest of the summer which I don't actually think he won Jeremy or the rest of the year sorry you're right summer hey we have uh we have 10 more days we have 10 more days listen girls is putting their clothes back on Summer's over that's what you know the pool parties are are closing but yes to your point I think it extends Kendrick's grace period in the minds of consumers and the minds of the fans of not us greatest disc record of all time biggest I didn't never thought nothing could be bigger than hit him up or ether but I think it's there not like us does he perform it you know what's dope yeah this can we talk about the commercial how crazy that is too wait what's up Jer uh certified cover boy did you do the breakdown of the commercial let's do that you know okay so there there's there's some stuff that people are saying who the football being thrown to what of a shout out what do you even call that machine that they do where they shoot the ball we even know what they call it certified cover boy well okay so there's the there's the American flag in the background which was a reference to uh War General speech I I I don't have the guy's name off top Patton yeah where he's talking about about America is always ready to fight it was basically an American Pride War commercial right like Gathering the people up America being the key word there the stripes and stars somebody said that there was six uh Stars visible and nine Stripes visible freaky ass you person you a 69 God uh it was the I think it was the amount of footballs that he uh threw out there I want say I got to go back I think it was was it five and he stopped before I got to six I don't remember that exactly he did say the round two thing which was a clear shot uh towards Drake um was there anything else on there that you thought was a subliminal because this guy is he's he's calculated me yeah what did you think was dope but you said what you said something before you said want to know what was dope I mean you covered everything that was it I mean that's the stuff that I saw okay okay I'm going look at I I think there was one more thing that I missed what you know what I'm saying Easter eggs does he perform not like us you have to clean version you have to first of all everything has to be clean it's FCC governed you have to perform clean music of course you dropped a clean version on Twitter I did from the radio yes is that the radio version that DJ head's play but I have a clean version if you need it um it's not that clean that's a lot of words been um New Orleans marching band Element of it obviously takes it to another level how do you do the the Super Bowl without doing the biggest record I think you I think you got to do it I I actually uh would love to hear your DJ take on I created a fake Super Bowl set list for Wayne and for Kendrick but this is based on uh this is based on 14 songs okay where that's what Usher did it was 14 songs y okay it's a Le overall yeah and this and this is what I'm I'm thinking like some of these are going to be 10 seconds some of them are going to be like full songsi cover boy Jeremy heck this is this is for critique this is and this is also based on not my favorite Kendrick songs this is what I think would be a good Super Bowl set okay let me one spoil alert is it similar to the pop out Performance Set LS or is it distinctly different no it's it's similar it's it's not it's not crazy different okay this is this is my Kendrick said all right opening which he What would Kendrick’s set-list be? already performed with run it back it again I think he'll do it again humble money trees with Jrock oh Jrock touch super stage win with Jrock but both of them may be half half and half Top Dog entertainment collard greens with school boy Q black is up okay uh abso will be up there I don't know if he'll perform but he'll be up there element loyalty with Rihanna swimming pools Mad City not like us I don't know if he does the full thing but he definitely does some sort of a version of at least a hook all the stars with siza Don't Kill My Vibe King kuna count me out me out me the the outro I know that cuz he has to say that Mr morale had some sort of song that he can perform at the Super Bowl and I think that's the one over die hard I think so that's see that's why you're not a DJ that's what I'm I'm asking I'm giving you I'm giving you uh [ __ ] is you talking about I'm giving you clear I just think it's a test that stage that hard blast didn't perform for the big steppers tour okay what do you think is there the pop out show he didn't know Mr morale songs if I if I recall no he didn't didn't he do uh I think he did one didn't he maybe he didn't no zero you said what did he do any Mr morale songs with the pop out I don't remember Pop I don't think he did none no zero that's true you yeah you were yeah you were in it that night yeah yeah uh what was the question though what do you think there's any songs missing or how do you feel about that set list I think that Joe ending is crazy okay but just take out the ending he's really CH the ending he's disgusted like watch the party die record I think you do I think the scissor is good I think the I don't think sciss I don't think you do money trees and also don't think you bring out Rihanna too it that'd be too big of a moment to just have her come out for that hook you could but then at that point you I mean cuz like Okay so let's say you let's say stereotypically right yeah I have no knowledge of what's going on [ __ ] the internet the inter own at you right now you hear him yelling at you see so let's say for all the tens and purposes you said it's similar to Papa so let's say he brings Dre out he brings out Ranna he brings out Jrock he brings out Q she brings out siza right that's already five minutes yeah that and even that's just 60 seconds a piece yeah that's already 5 minutes Super Bro what 12 minutes it's like 13 minutes or something like that's half the time so I don't know if you do that if you run it up with hella feder a lot I honestly don't think there'll be many cameos I say I think he's going Doo bring nobody out I think there will be one at most I think he's bringing nobody out I predict nobody out um does he bring Wayne out oh well that's the other question yes does he does he invite does he give Wayne the opportunity to be a guest and if you're Wayne do you accept do you accept yeah I say no you don't you don't I mean I don't think would I don't think he would I don't think he would but you say you would advise him not to do it I'm not his advisor I'm asking you if you were Wayne spiritual adviser his advis wlson listen listen to the question I think he almost I feel like he should list to question okay yes sir I'm here if you were managing Little Wayne and the call comes in and it says hey um we want Wayne to pop out what do you not talking to Wayne you make the decision what do you say that's a tough like I'm like the engineer guy who's his manager now right stuff like that I would do it but I don't think out of loyalty he can't do it at this point and I think part of is is called all the hoopla that was stirred up from the beginning and it would look like it's it's against Drake to do it at this point and even though you know Drake's going he obviously discovered Drake and elevated Drake and Drake's become his own man you know it does look like the Optics don't look good because especially if it's the same the same evening he's going to do not like us on that stage he can't do it Dr just posted all the Wayne pictures on his Instagram I think you have to ask Wayne I think they probably already have I think I think I think the right move for Kendrick is to ask Wayne the right and I think the right thing is for Wayne to decline politely yeah I I I agree that's that's how I look at it why just cuz of a drake yeah because of the heights of this has become did Drake think about Wayne when he turned it down twice not at all I'm sure so then what what are you talking about I'm talking about what I just said no I'm saying because he's going to do because it's part of this battle it's part of him he's going to do not he said he's got to do not like us right so why would I be on a rival stage I wouldn't come out the at the height of Jay-Z Nas If I Knew Nas was going to do ether and I was cool with Jay-Z I'm not gonna be on the stage with him the same how he's doing like it's just not the right time unfortunately would you advise and also you wanted to you thought you could headline it yourself too so I'm sure he still probably is still disappointed that he didn't get the call if you're little Wayne so why do I want to then just be a guest when I I thought I should have I should I should have had the moment so no I think I think he I think the right things is to ask him because it's the right thing to do why because it's New Orleans and Little Wayne it's icon it's someone he respects and because because the internet made it some messy ass because the internet made it some messy ass [ __ ] so you think that you think that D is going to Pander to the internet no I think he should I think he should respect the culture and what culture Hip-Hop Hip-Hop culture no it's not hip-hop culture it's it's a bunch of people complaining online you know what you're right I I did say and I did say before I don't think this it's a about guest for Kendrick I think it's about Kendrick coming out with no guest that's my vision of it coming out to even not like us is the Martin man type of vibe to it and him just tearing the stage down and showing that he's one of the great ones in hip-hop he might be the greatest I think it's his showcase I think it's his show I think it's his time to show that he's really is the leader of the culture and I don't think there's any guests involved with that would you advise Wayne to especially with the pop out the pop out was all about celebrating others and being you know connecting with others he kind of did that already he did that and and I so he doesn't need that validation know we have he know we have he has big records with the Rihanna and different people like that but he doesn't need that validation I think it also speaks to the fact that again we finally have a hip-hop artist on this biggest stage which is a huge accomplishment even in the year of 2025 and let's see this guy prove he's the best that ever did it if I'm down I'll take it to the face what does that mean PA DJ head what do you mean DJ that's slang bro it's you take it to the neck you just Doo right Doo yeah and you don't even respond to any of the controversy you don't I don't reach out I don't do nothing I don't talk to nobody but day three and we put this thing together they going to construct a crazy show it's going to be amazing and I think this is Dot's moment to really solidify himself as a player on the world stage as and to be respected like everybody else because before this year there was always questions well was the pimper butterfly really good was it not even bad what was the decision there what did they ultimately decide is it classic like bro like I think if if I'm him I'm about to show you I can show you better than I can tell you so it's it's the rare opportunity and I said this the times with Jay it's like this guy could be the the he could clearly show he's the best right now and ultimately could be the greatest of all time at the at the same damn time like that's a rare rare moment mhm that this guy could really show he's number one currently and he may be number one all time I'm the greatest I'm the goat I'm the true goat look at the catalog did Rihanna have any does he even do um no no Rihanna had no guest yeah does is he bold enough to do a new song I think he okay I think he drops a single the day and he's historically done that he did the uh the Untitled performances all on live TV which I thought was incredible why you smiling I said song well he always like he's the only person I think who I've seen multiple times on live TV on like Jimmy Fallon the gram like he was performing new unheard records and killing the performances to the point where you had to watch it on YouTube cuz it wasn't even out I could see him premiering part of the like maybe a transitional song like he did with broccoli too or whatever that song's called where we still don't even have that song and we just have to listen to the snippet on not like us so I close when the DJ head gets that smile going CT's got it CT's got the closeups it warms your heart to think that he might do a new song I'm I'm a fan just like y'all okay but you guys do realize what what's a Kendrick bside show look like what if he what if he does some different St bides do some different [ __ ] he doesn't give you swimming pools he just does some he gives you watch the party die don't do watch the party die don't do meet the grams don't scare America please don't do that don't even hit that cord don't even hit that one you know how how Kanye does the runaway where he does like the one cord and everyone cheers uh if Kendrick hits the one cord on me the grams everyone just runs out of the stadium okay so go back to it said what would lrae do what would what should Drake do well Drake Drake is hosting the FIFA World Cup in Canada he's already getting prepared he's he's got the global stage way more viewers than the Super Bowl so he's he's chilling Drake is God Bless yeah so we GNA have like a choir fourth quarter in hip-hop music cuz no that was going to happen you know what I learned about the term God bless you my girl was telling me in La when you say God bless you it may mean [ __ ] you depending on how you say it I have no knowledge of that okay all right I just all right Jeremy you're you're you're very more Global than us in Toronto is what do we not dismiss the accomplishment of this the world this is this is big that's huge too I mean it is it basically it shows that Drake hasn't lost his cache as the guy in Toronto he's still Canada's hero to a degree where like they didn't go to anyone else who else they could have gone to the weekend I guess but Drake is the only one who's able to be an ambassador for these type of things so I think it's a big accomplishment you guess you don't think the weekend could be an ambassador for that uh I don't think he speaks he he's not like a public guy like Drake is correct like I think the weekend's more of a private he he perform I could see the weekend be a performer what's that recent quote or something article I think it was a billboard article he was saying how he still has a lot of anxiety when even before he comes out and performs things like you know he's not he's still not comfortable front facing but Drake also did like I got to find the post but he liked a reel where it was playing the 30 for30 uh song where he says like uh all of the higher ups are coming together as a collective to end my run and send me a message and it was you know Jay-Z and Kendrick a picture of them together I don't want to dive too deep into that anymore but do you think Drake is looking at this and thinking like wow even though he did have the opportunity of the Super Bowl but do you think he is continuously looking at this like damn everyone wants me out of here bro I don't feel bad for that dude is that what you asking you no no no I'm just I'm asking if you think in Drake's mind he's looking at the no I'm not asking if you feel bad for do the Optics to him look like I don't give a [ __ ] what the Optics look like to him he picked the fight he did pick the fight what are you talking about like bro hey next subject all all there's only one subject Krick and Drake Krick and I'm just saying Krick bro you can't bro you can't talk about I'm not I'm saying like that bro I don't want to say I'm sound aggressive I'm I'm I'm not trying to be that guy what I'm saying is it the sentiment is woes is me everybody's teaming against me is 20 V1 like bro you reap what you sow I'm a God-fearing man right you reap what you sow nobody not I'm not going to say that cuz there are acts of Randomness that are are terrible that happened all over the world but if you are a victim a true victim I have empathy for you if you make decisions in your life that cause you to have to deal with the repercussions of those decisions I don't have empathy for you I'm fresh out of [ __ ] you know what I'm saying you know why you know why I'm There’s only one subject overweight cuz I like cookies you know what I'm saying I've been eating ice cream my entire life I just started getting eating salads and [ __ ] like that I'd watch this I don't walk around be like man I'm so fat my stomach didn't know what I'm going to do 20 cookies pre diabetic like bro stop [ __ ] eating cookies my [ __ ] put the cookies down my [ __ ] you have a problem with people if you have a if you have a problem with people galvanizing against you what have you done to offend sad people what have you done to G to to Garner that kind of resp emojis when it wasn't even warranted what are you what have you done to Garner that kind of response out out of other human beings you know what you have done yeah in the in the in The Ether in the back channels and the DMS and the things that you you know what you have done you know what you're doing so when you ask a question like are these people teaming up against me well what the [ __ ] was you doing bro y he was Drake was number one in many eyes for a long time yeah probably the most unprecedented consistent run ever in hip-hop history I don't want to throw no pity party for people who and I'm not this is not a personal attack on on Drake I'm not that's not what I'm doing this isn't Aubrey this is Drake this is not even I don't I'm not even on Drake right now I'm just saying and I don't like this this woes is me societal mentality that we have where it's like well it's it was 20 versus one was it or did you swing on 20 [ __ ] and run in room now it's 20 [ __ ] in the room you saying you ordered 20 cookies you know what I'm saying did you eat the cookies man I'm did fat ass e I'm diabetic oh were you born with diabetes no diabetes is not a hereditary thing the food is hereditary you know what I'm saying like what did you do to contribute to your current circumstance that's my point no to and I I actually do agree and I what I don't like is it's funny to watch the flip right so people have been pulling up the receipt of Drake is the one who said drop drop drop he said K do when you come with something I know you're in that apartment coming up with qu quadruple and Tandra you got to come you you I need you to come up with I need you to come up with all of this yeah okay yeah and he and and even academic like the public narrative people say that Drake had no shot or that it was an unfair advantage or yachi said that whoever people thought Drake was up two or one nothing was up after push-ups and he was the one Alis is like no he was never up he he was at least up in the eyes of a lot of the public and then there was people begging Kendrick and Counting him out saying is he ever going to drop and then that's why I think to your point it's it's weird to Feel Victim mentality when you asked for all of this and and the thing is I don't like victim blaming because that's what this is going to turn into I'm going to be on spiritual world or some [ __ ] like I was you going to be a spiritual I'm I'm just saying like that's not what I'm doing like oh blaming the girl cuz she wore a dress that's not that's not what I'm on bro what I'm saying is when you aggress and you are aggressing I don't feel bad for you when when the rabbit gets the gun but what was Drake wearing when he I don't know what the [ __ ] was wearing just kid a Canuck Jersey probably likely shout out to my nck lot but Jer you know a lot of great art comes out of comes out of adversity right like like pain or things against me like so it is is interesting again what Drake does like is with these records i' I've been on the record of saying I wasn't impressed or inspired by the music he's put out said he hasn't made one right move since the battle I still stand in that I stand in that 100% And I still don't think he knows how to counter it and I think it's up the an he with it coming out next year now the Super Bowl performance and potential album he has to face so it is fascinating to figure out what is the counter here like what is what's going to come of Drake's career what's Drake's approach now this guy's talking about watch the party die you're going to go make your party next door like I don't I don't think he knows and that's the thing and it's like and I think that's what's so fascinated about it but again he's a great he these are heavyweight champions these are the greatest these are two of the greatest these are like these are guys up there like these are the biggest ever so this guy was so dominant for a long time and yes everybody got tired of him winning and yes the things he predicted back then have come to fruition they would like to be number one Future's put out Future's putting on album mixtape Pluto he's done two great albums met another one future wants to be number one everybody want to be number one in Hip Hop right that's what your goal is to be the best in it well not everybody you're right that's true but but certain great people want to be great and be up there and be go for being the best and impact culture that way and now we're seeing the guy that was that for us many times again his leadership more so to me is what's fascinating where the idea now is that Kendrick could come out and pop out and do these sort of moments where he's kind of leading the culture now you know and it's a different way than Drake led the culture mhm you know it's interesting I think Alex do we have the picture of Elliot and uh uh no so to your point about uh watch the party die I think we we have a a good old classic the good times when the good times were here uh I know I was that was oio Elliott with party next door on screen for those listening on audio but I do think that that was semi like we're talking about how calculated Kendrick is I do think watch the party die was a clear uh or maybe not as clear a subliminal of we know that Drake's dropping a party next door album you asked who wanted the party next door album I said maybe just party next door we are maybe watching that album dwindle or being stepped on to some degree with him saying watch the party die I don't think it was that's his only reason for saying that I think he meant the the hoopla and let's get back to messaging but the double on Tandra could work with with the party next door uh project that could be dropping God bless everybody God bless every body um God bless the way you think DJ head I like that line when Kendrick says God bless God bless God bless how I think incredible a great lie he's got some great lies in he's no he's got some he's some fire bars I like when he when he talked about patience he said if when he said um he resides in patience he resides in patience and to me that was saying everyone who's to your point of rushing tweeting crashing out immediately responding with no information that's what he the had alerted ear about with with hve that's kind of like what we all to be like you got to get to that level where you can stand in who you are your own convictions and your morals whatever and be able to deal with whatever comes with that what people say about you and just you know stand in it we all challenge ourselves to elevate and grow as men in our case to become that type of person and it's it's not easy well both of them are the type of people that they'll show you their moves when everyone's talking but they do move you know Jay-Z is one of those people that he knows how to control a narrative he knows how to uh create a moment out of the talk he he'll drop a verse there's that freestyle where everyone's talking about title and it's I think it's one of Jay's best verses and he has a freestyle on stage where he's like you know Lucy you got some splaining to do like only the only people hating on you look the same as you and he and he talks about Phil Knight is a billionaire but you still bought those kicks like that's how he responded to that controversy he dropped 444 to respond to the you know even though it was a piece of art it was it was also responding to the uh marital rumors you know he uh dropped that verse with Meek Mill where he talked about everything going on with the NFL like he does it through the music Kendrick does it through the music Kendrick does it through these little calculated moves whereas some people in it they're so in it that they can't if they take a step back then it looks like they're ducking everything whereas these guys that's even though they're going to get hit on the head with it they're backed up enough that when they do step forward in their Dusty Air Force once and step on the scene it makes a mark hey that's quite poetic there J God bless God bless that's why you want to battle all these white journalists media people far them up man I I did see some people saying they want to hear me rap only if I get thissed if I get thiss if I get thissed I'll uh I'll come here with some if a rapper or a media personal you this I'm not going to let you respond you're not more calculated more patient no bro can I pass it by you can I give you like a bar check what if he just puts it up on his Instagram I mean that's cool with some white Air Force on just just yeah don't do that we don't we don't need that okay all right that's fair um speaking of uh Rocky Relationships uh jcole dropped a verse last week on a song where ASAP Rocky was throwing some clear shots at the boy and so ASAP is rolling out an album right he's teased it a few times he's pushed the release date back he's got videos out I really like the last music video but do you think jcole like how should should someone feel about jcole hopping on a song where Rocky's dissing Drake after all of the other Optics of Drake being at dreamville and allegedly leaving and we can trust Maul Source now after we J. Cole & Drake Relationship confirmed the Super Bowl allegedly Drake left dreamville Fest after jako apologized because he was supposed to be a special guest and he didn't want to go on stage after that then we had J.Cole clearing his verse for Metro and Futures album when you know it was the hate Drake album and then volume two hey Drake album and now we have jcole on an ASAP Rocky song where Rocky is throwing some can't just love everybody can't be Switzerland I I think you can try I think you can try but it's really tough I respect Cole I would love to be as in the middle as him to some degree but is is this possible for him to remain out of this look at the I'm just tired bro you're tired I'm just like how do we know anything about this when when was the song recorded it seemed pretty new to me I mean it seemed like there was responses to at least some of the things that were being said but when did when did Cole probably like when do you think Cole did this first Cole might have done it a while ago and maybe ASAP changed it but it's one of those weird situations where like but he still got to clear it yeah he has to clear the verse doesn't he with the final product sometimes has Cole moved in a way that's disloyal to Drake I guess is the question why would why is he disloyal to anybody he's loyal to himself because he in some ways you could make the argument that he started this whole mess how did he start it with first person shooter [ __ ] he what did he say he's he was to me people say who started the big fre person that really galvanized the big free talk to me was jcole because it elevated jcole in that conversation next to Drake and Kendrick so the spirit of everything of him Drake coming together to do that song the idea allegedly they reached out to Kendrick to see if he wanted to be on the record making it the moment shooting this amazing video going on tour together like and then now you pulled out of you said the battle started he got dissed he dissed Kendrick p pull the record back I'm sure Drake feels away yeah I I I think Drake does feel away I'm not going to like you said I don't I don't feel bad for him for feeling this way we dismantled the big three or whatever that was supposed to be yeah the former big three The Big Three isic been dismantled it's just it's big me and dismantled yeah yeah I I mean I I do respect Cole for kind of keeping his peace still I I think I look at him differently now that we saw what what happened he didn't get into the mess and didn't get into the mud so well that's a good one too so if you're Cole right let's talk strategy again if we know Kendrick's coming top of next year with the Super Bowl push do you jcole come out is there pressure for you to come out November December like a clear Lane where you can be the top guy like is that is that the move for offseason the longer waited not offseason um the fallof the longer waited the falloff album right if I'm jcole I'm looking at fourth quarter he does like that he did that with 2014 Forest Hills Drive I I could do it December December jcole release you're not a J.Cole fan I [ __ ] with Cole I just think this I think the internet does a lot of reaching and um like okay when you said there was clear shots strong what are you what are you referencing um Family Matters type stuff I feel like it iel like it wasn't clear enough to me that was straight up him responding to Drake to me my take on Rocky's verse I didn't feel like it was super direct what did what did Drake say directly to Rocky well he had theot of mean things D yeah he had the whole verse on uh for all the dogs where he was talking about Rihanna and ASAP very disrespectful to Rihanna what did he say okay we can pull up the lyrics so Drake on you know what you said the dogs what did he say you know what he said okay fear of heights is that is that the one where it was uh what okay yeah yeah fear of heights oh no no yeah so so okay they're naturally going to have a little bit of beef because Drake is still in love with uh asap's wife it seems like and you know that as a journalist you can confirm that still in love as a journalist as a Jour as a hip-hop journalist Jeremy he you can confirm that Dr is still platform on this platform using my platform responsibly all I can say is that was a projection I take accountability if I see y could see y'all could correct yourself some sometimes if I had Rihanna and I fumbled that bag for whatever reason I would will be upset a little bit and in love with her I've been there my current girl we weren't talking for a bit I was still in love with her okay I'll admit that all right what did he say so all right okay okay okay he said uh a great show so stupid love it uh how do you have hold hold up hold up yo Alex is fast bro shout to our incredible production team okay hold up let me let me let me pull it up but did Drake oh yeah for all the dogs did he dis okay this is what people think sorry the advertisement's on here okay Bill boy can't get their money he he said okay he used the term anti over and over again which is a clear uh Rihanna reference okay he said I'm anti I'm anti uh better him than me better it's not me I'm anti I'm anti yeah and the sex was average with you okay the sex was amazing is a party next door song that Rihanna recorded for anti her album I'm anti like your daddy's sister I'm anti like family picture and I way had way batter [ __ ] than you to be honest yeah that man he's still with you he can't leave you y'all go on vacation I bet it's antia he's dissing their vacations DJ head all right so now fast forward what did ASAP say on the record okay so as are we in court hip-hop Court this is no I have a point okay and we're going to get there soon well then well then we also can't skip over we had Family Matters this okay so all right go what what tell me what ASAP said okay this is uh this is on uh Ruby Ruby Rosary okay Ruby Rosary Ruby Rosary we're on genius ASAP Rocky okay I'm just I'm just stalling while it loads okay all right then we we have Ruby Rosary featuring J.Cole okay he said I don't get fresh to death [ __ ] I'm buried alive what was uh Kendrick's interlude on Drake's take care called okay I heard I heard dog talking funny like it's Family Guy for all the family matters uh caring for dudes like I'm Mary or Bob made God a promise you got to strive when you marry the mob they ain't seen and then he just kind of talks about his we don't wear Zara or whatever he's talking about his his uh fashion you know his fashion um yeah so I don't think it was like crazy little Taps took it in stride in conditions where I shouldn't survive now I ride windows down with my foot on the side he's just he he does seem like he's brushing it off but he's responding it's not like a shot shot so what did Cole say nothing about any of that Cole is just chilling so my question to you is is it possible that Cole did this verse and a and Rocky did a different variation of the song Yes is it possible that Cole did this verse prior and it's just now dropping the record because to your point you know there might be something coming I mean I'm not to your point but I'm saying ASAP is is in in mode yeah and what better way than like say let's say you you have the verse right and Cole does the verse for you you guys collaborate whatever cool and then it's like well let me put this little stuff in here and take advantage of the momentum of of what's going on because what was it hijack didn't have anything in it right yeah it did no I'm talking about no features oh no features it have no features right but it did throw a little have some stuff in there little little things here and there right yeah just some some slight okay so I'm just I'm I'm just playing the other side of it I'm just saying not everything is like a conspiracy I don't like music business all the time things happen I don't necessarily listening to when I heard Cole's verse and like you said you say there's nothing yeah nothing nothing it's not even damn near are two two different songs yeah he doesn't address it's almost two different songs when you listen to it there a disconnect yeah I'm saying it might be a possibility I don't know this for sure um but there's a possibility that they you know aren't the same thing he might have changed the record why make it record with my op is that wrong like at the height of this cuz we're talking about it no I'm saying if you're if you're Drake do you feel the way because it's clear Rocky's and me are at odds he's my op and me and you Cole we're supposed to be cool you making a record with my op that's not cool no no no I'm not speaking from a from a drake jcole standpoint I'm speaking from a rocky Cole standpoint I was thinking about Drake jcole though because I honestly don't have the answer because I I don't I don't want to hold people to the standard of they can't do things that benefit their career like there's going to be problems with everyone like I would never say like if like one of my friends has a problem uh Wilson have problem with my friend exactly and and Char and I don't think any either of them would say you can say the name yeah but I don't think any either of them would say you can't come on here and do this show or you can't come on there and do his show like both of them would respect the fact that you have a career that you're building that you have and and I would hope the same Grace and I would give the same Grace to both of you or or my friends in other Industries so I I actually talking it about someone on the platform I don't [ __ ] with yeah yeah DJ Vlad yeah I didn't say that he me we saying names you said we have to be transparent and go back to the other part of it Kendrick demands this of us as be responsible with our platforms buddy you have to be clear but hearing J.Cole I was talking about I actually am granting J.Cole more grace because I do think he should be afforded the opportunity to do things that benefit his career without necessarily and having some understanding from the people that he's also friends with I think Kendrick has given him that understanding up until first person shooter I think Kendrick was very understanding of you know I I know we're cool but I see you out there with the guy parading on stage calling calling each other goats and then it started to get a little more suspicious now this is where it gets weirder right I ain't going to lie to you I want you to come back to that yeah actually finish your thought well I'm just saying like it gets so it's cool if like you know like if like Elliot was or okay I guess for Elliott it's cool if like you're here and then you're there but then if you're there and like saying like charlamagne's the greatest living journalist of all time there's no one close and you're like you we're it's it's me and you we're at the top two and then you're you're running around doing a tour together I think he would be like wait wait hold up hold up I think that's what happened to Kendrick he's like hold up hold up hold up it was cool we could all be but what's what's this thing about Spider-Man yeah what's what's going on over here with with you guys are the goats and you calling Drake the greatest of all time and you going on to and dapping up every night and all right chess bumping bet I think yeah that that was my point there what were you going to say I have nothing else come on nothing you wanted him to finish your thought you I appreciate this this King this this King King King thank you there could be many King Gods we got the God in us yeah um there can only be one there there was last thing on on the big three there was a a funny thing that came back and we had spoken about it on episode one of this show but Joe recently re it up that there was a rumor that dot and Drake spoke prior to this battle and I think I don't remember if I heard it from if Rob Markman talked about it someone talked about it I heard it we talked about it on on stage you did not confirm or deny but you gave one of these a smile enough smile what did I say nothing you just you gave me one of these and what in reference to what me saying that there was a rumor that Kendrick and Drake could have kept things friendly and they spoke about it on the phone to say hey let's keep it rap friendly F and there was maybe a warning of friendly F if we do go any further just know I'm prepared to take it there but I would love to keep this as just rap and uh it didn't I don't think those guys have talking talk to the control control since your interview I don't had a conversation since control okay out I don't believe it that's not true okay when when when did they when did they speak I don't know views but you know that they spoke no I'm saying he said not since the control verse I'm like that bro that was like over 10 years ago yeah it was they would had to speak since then I would assume I I assume I stand on what I they at least spoke right after the control verse because during your interview he said I dapped them up at like the VMAs 5 days later well around that time I just see I don't see them being on speed each other but and how you do that like we're about to finally have the biggest battle so it's like hey let's talk out first pre preemptively let's set the rules set the stage I can't confirm that but Fu even your production was laughing at uh but in within our culture there is a thing as a friend yeah why wouldn't Representatives speak on that they don't they don't think they have to speak directly to to say say what's going on different people from different cands can speak to each other right also right to be saying principl what I'm saying is within our culture if I have an issue with you and we have we are on terms where we can amicably come to an agreement even if we going to fight right if we can amicably come to an agreement there that's that's a thing within our culture like see I just always felt again I have no knowledge I just felt Dr and Kendrick didn't have that type of relationship I think Drake and Cole had that type of relationship and I felt like Cole was sort of being a buffer in between them in terms of like he mediated a mediator of some sort in my mind again making this up it's not based off any real information but in my theory I look at it that way I just don't see Drake texting Kendrick every once in a while like I don't I don't feel like I didn't at least to me my outside Viewpoint I didn't see them having a relationship like that to me but maybe I'm wrong oh I guess we'll never know well they're not texting now there's no phone call to be had now probably they just send like crying laughing emo they just text in emojis Drake sends like a confused Emoji Kendrick sends back a laughing emoji no all right uh okay so there there's a couple more things we can talk about but I I'll let you guys decide where where we want to take it or do we want to go to straight accountability hour and I want to go to accountability hour okay let's go to accountability hour ell Wilson you go first what's account the [ __ ] is accountability it's where we're able to take accountability for over the past week if we made a mistake or if there was something we missed I gotta let me think on it what the [ __ ] did I do wrong let me think I don't know C give me an example what did I do wrong let me oh well he gave Grace to Maul he did yeah what I do oh it's Grace to Maul oh yeah yeah I did think Maul was capping I had to get my journal list on I found out M was not capping so shout out to mul because also I the accountability part I Rory's my friend too like I love Rory I Rory's actually my real friend uh Maul's really cool I like Maul too what I did though no I'm just some my personal relationships I'm cool with parents have really good I did also cool with the whole crew of the show so when Maul did say that I did text Rory I hit Julian the producer I hit Demaris and I Accountability Hour was getting my jokes so I was kind of clowning Maul to his team who gave the clarification on the I can't reveal my sources all right okay just you s I said multiple sources said mult multiple sources but had to ask but yeah so shout out to mul man stand for standing on business but yeah it wasn't four years again Clarity journalism it wasn't four times or four he wasn't clear in what he was saying but the idea that Drake did turn it down is accurate and it was twice so shout out to mul shout out to all I do have uh accountability for you if you don't have one let's do it okay last time I was up here throwing out theories they said what the [ __ ] is this guy talking about people are questioning me on stage Jeremy shut the [ __ ] up move on to the next subject all I asked was was Gatorade created with the intent to Aid a gator because it just it hit me when we were talking about DOI and Al Gators and I had the chat defending me doing the research for me I had chat pull it up Gatorade was in fact gator of some sort correct yeah you said a gator I said a gator so you think that the the aid was there for the Gator well but the gator is like the animal that is an animal right yeah but it's still the the mascot of the team no it doesn't work like that words have definitions Jeremy heck you can't just spew retoric like we on a stream and just call it facts cuz cuz that's how you feel true but
