Lil Wayne's Most Powerful Song: "Georgia Bush" | Hurricane Katrina 19th Anniversary | Reaction

mike check check check Justin hunt it's all happening thank you guys for rocking with the channel thank you to everyone who's donated to the cash app and through the link tree it's Priceless uh if you want to donate it's right up there um and thank you to all my members 65 members 65 members I got a new member yesterday got a new member yesterday I remember seeing this where's my new member at where's my new member at Andrew orac big shout out to Andrew orac uh I really appre appreciate you joining the community here it's so funny I didn't I shouted out my uh chess.com app in a video yesterday uh it went live today it was available for members yesterday I uh I didn't realize how many people played chess that's what's up so I've got 45 games I'll be playing they're mostly like Day games and three day games so that's not really that labor intensive but yo that's how you know real I am with this uh uh with this hobby I've picked up so I appreciate you guys uh big shout out to everybody who joined my Discord yesterday I I forgot a big shout out to a guy named Javin Javin I think he actually sent this up for me two years ago um when I was at home when my mom was dying and uh man he was a blessed soul man he he was like you really need to get one and so he set up this Discord for me that I haven't been utilizing and so there's a few channels on there there's a new music channel on there there's a the general just talk about different topics whatever's happened in life and the way things are going uh um there's a you know there's a stage I'll I'll do some video stuff I'm sure I'm going to when I start doing lives I'll try to tie it into my Discord uh but if you guys have any ideas what kind of kind of stuff you'd like to see on Discord that could be dope Rob Markman does a monthly music club and so they listen to an album for a month and uh and then they talk about it I think they started with DRS Nothing Was the Same I think that's the first one they did and uh maybe something like that I don't know I don't want to bite mark Rob Markman on that I'm a big fan of his uh but you know I'm open to suggestions uh one of the analysts in the audience asked me about it yesterday and I sent him a lake so uh we're moving forward I don't have a strategy yet but look around let's make some friends I'll be on there more often now since there's people there uh so big shout out to you guys I really appreciate it Big Show today up first uh today is the 19th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina the Hurricane Katrina catastrophe and I I'm not sure how old everyone is in the audience I remember that time period vividly I was working in Investment Banking um at Bank of America uh maril Lynch and uh you know just the images that came out of that catastrophic storm a lot of them still stick with me you know there was a big fundraiser and that's where Kanye said uh George Bush doesn't care about black people when he was detouring from what the prompter said with Mike Myers uh um and so I think 19 years later the resiliency of Hurricane Katrina really stands out oh excuse me the resiliency of the people of New Orleans and the people of Louisiana really stands out and that City u i saw a couple of images today that are kind of crazy if you look at this one this is a this is an image from Hurricane Hunters looking at the eye of the storm like look how Wild this looks that looks nuts um and and you know this is what the storm looked like as it was approaching landfall it started off as 175 mph over the Caribbean over the Gulf of Mexico and then and you know it hit land at 125 which was crazy um and here's a clip from the civil emergency message alert system that went out I don't obviously I don't remember this I wasn't in Louisiana I wasn't in uh New Orleans at that time but we'll play Quick Clip of it devastating damage expected Hurricane Katrina a most powerful hurricane with unprecedented strength rivaling the intensity of Hurricane Camille of 1969 most of the area will be uninhabitable for weeks perhaps longer at least one half of well- constructed homes will have roof and wall failure all gabled roofs will fail leaving those homes severely damaged or destroyed the majority of industrial buildings will become nonfunctional I mean that is just dark I'm not going to play the whole thing but that is dark I mean I I I'm completely missed that I wasn't in Louisiana but can you imagine hearing that can you imagine hearing that like that's crazy so in honor of the 19th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina I decided to do a reaction to one of my all-time favorite little Wayne songs and the song is called Georgia Bush and it is uh about Hurricane Katrina and how poorly president then President George W bush handled uh that catastrophe so if you guys haven't heard this this is uh this is this is one of Wayne's best songs one of my favorite songs from Wayne of all time and if you guys have heard this hopefully you'll enjoy this Blast from the Past um here we go this was on Little Wayne's dedication to gangster grills mix tape and I'm going to go with the genius annotations too so you know when I hear different lines pause we'll take a look right here is dedicated to the president of the United States of America yeah y'all might know him it's George Bush but where I'm from Los City of New Orleans we call him this that's that classic Ray Charles sample right there that's right Bush You Know Who You Are go see this was the era when Wayne was showing more of his contextual range than I think maybe uh he has in recent years but I mean this still gives me chills every time it starts we call you gang the with the suit thck white skin his blue soal beef with you know who [ __ ] he just let him K all troops look at all the [ __ ] we been crazy I mean even the way he comes in on that this one the song is dedicated to the one with the suit thick white skin and his eyes bright blue so-call beef which you know who which is a you know a bigy line inter interpolation f it he just let them kill all our troops look at all the [ __ ] we've been through had our [ __ ] sitting on tops of their roofs Hurricane Katrina we should have called it Hurrican Georgia Bush I mean like he he's on a mission and he's on a mission right out the gate on the news the white people smiling like everything cool but I know people that died in that pool I know people that died in them schools now what is the Survivor to do got no trailer you got to move to Texas and they tell you what they show you what they want you to see but they don't let you know what's really going on make it look like a lot of stealing going on all them cops killers in my home nigg shot dead in the middle of the street I mean that part's super powerful too that's all that part right there but they don't want you to see what's really going on make it look like a lot of stealing going on boy them cops is killers in my home [ __ ] shot dead in the middle of the street I ain't no Thief I'm just trying to eat and F the police and President George Bush right so that was another thing that was happening they would in the media back then in the news back then they would have pictures of white people who were you know going in grocery stores or going in other people's homes or whatever and they were saying that they were looking for food and they would have the same thing same pictures of pictures of black people doing the same thing and they would describe it as looting they would describe it as looting that's how polarized that's how you know uh uh discriminatory even the coverage of this catastrophe was back then that's one of the things that Kanye was pointing out in that uh uh during that tellon when he like the first few times Kanye talked he was really muddled about what he was saying he really wasn't very articulate he was just speaking from the heart but he was pointing that same thing out too and Wayne brings it back in this song to The why was steady why was a they able to control this I know some f that live by the Le they keep on telling me they heard explosion same [ __ ] happen back in came in 1965 I ain't going to know this that was President Johnson but not it's bu come on man I mean Wayne is Flowing on this so what happened to the levies why wasn't they steady why wasn't they able to control this I know some folk that live by the levy that keep on telling me they heard explosions there's a boondoc episode that talks about some of the ramifications of Hurricane Katrina and you know the The Boondocks huy Riley and Granddad lived in uh the Freemans lived in Chicago and so their cousins from Louisiana had to come stay with them for a long period of time and you know through a series of comedic events they learn about you know this another representation of the different types of black families right essentially and but that was a big thing too like there's a conspiracy that was at the core of Hurricane Katrina a lot of people felt like they heard explosions and Wayne is talking about this you know sameish happened back in Hurricane Betsy 1965 I ain't too young to know this that was President Johnson but now it's Georgia Bush I mean this is one of Wayne's best songs you can't tell me anything otherwise we from a town where everybody drowned everybody died but baby I'm still praying with you everybody CED ain't nobody tried there's no doubt on my mind it was Bush we from a town where everybody drowning everybody di but baby I'm still praying with you everybody nobody I mean people always talk about who's the worst president of all time to me is clearly George W bush right I mean George W bush broke the white streak to a black man named Hussein Osama every other president was white and then George Bush was so bad that the guy who followed him was a black man named Hussein Osama and George and Eric gri is one of those things he mishandled you know Gravely to be honest along with the economy everyone lost their house you had a global recession along with Iraq along with Afghanistan you know what I mean you know now he's a lovable old dude painting pictures of Putin my was N I was born in a boot at the bottom of the map New Orleans baby not a white house trying to wash us away like we not on a map wait have you heard the latest they saying that you got to have pay if you're trying to come back [ __ ] thinking it's a rap C we can't hle in they TR we ain't from it's them dead bodies them lost houses the mayor say don't wor about it and the children have been scoring no one's here to care about them and that outout to all the rappers that helped out yeah we like to take all of yall president come on man I mean he's even tapping into like The Human Experience right so this is one of those songs that captures a uh National if not Global catastrophe he's talking about it from on the ground standpoint he's talking about it from a micro and macro standpoint he's talking about how people felt about the president but he's also talking about you know the the ramifications that people on the ground actually felt I was born in the boot at the bottom of the map New Orleans baby now the White House hating they try to wash us away like we not on the map wait have you heard the latest they saying that you got to have paper if you trying to come back you know like for a lot of people this was one of the you there's a saying that says do never let a good uh crisis go to waste and he's alluding to that idea here yeah your house was gone regardless of what insurance is saying regardless what's happening but we have other plans for this area now so you're going to have to have money if you're going to come back here [ __ ] think it's a wrap see we can't hustle in they trap we ain't from Georgia now it's them dead bodies lost now it's them dead bodies them lost houses the mayor say don't worry about it and the children have been scorned no one's here to care about them and fat sh to all the rappers that helped out yeah we like to thank all y'all but F president Georgia Bush I mean you know it's crazy right this next part I talk about the Confederate stuff all the time here's what Wayne says back this what he said about that back then flck [ __ ] Confederate flag you know what it is white crack [ __ ] they probably voted for him and know he ain't going to drop no dollars but he do drop bombs all right P cuz he died in the stor [ __ ] president bu see us in your city man give us a pound cuz if a [ __ ] still moving then he holding it down I had two JS but lost both them bit cheers I'm from in the yeah we from a town where everybody drowned everybody died but baby I'm still PR with you everybody CED boy ain't nobody Tred there's no yo I mean I'm I yo that song right there is one of the most powerful songs I heard around that topic at and generally speaking in that point in time you know I think that it represents the best of little Wayne um and it's one of those examples of beauty birthed out a catastrophe um I say it all the time you know hip hop at its best represents the plight of the people and though it may feel like artists never do those kind of things or certain artists don't touch those things at at all that's very true Little Wayne isn't one of those artists you know little Wayne is a millennial rapper who started in the 90s his ethos in this game is tied to the original ethos of hip-hop and you're talking about Street Urban culture so talking about your environment is is at the foundation of this of this beauty this beautiful culture we all love and this is an amazing example from Little Wayne um so I decided to react to it I hope you guys enjoyed it let me know if you guys have heard this song If you haven't heard this song punch yourself in the face and let me know if you guys remember that time period uh if you remember Hurricane Katrina if you remember some of the media things around it maybe if you were in Louisiana or in New Orleans or had family members who were affected by it um it was a sincere tragedy and my condolences to everyone who lost lost people they cared about uh 19 years ago today my name is name is Justin hunt like subscribe to the channel follow at the company man on everything it's all happening H is it's h is it's Allen the matical
