per game for the Lions defense was 325.7 the Rams defense allowed per game is 359.06 in the NFL I'm going to go ahead and take the over for the Lions under for the Rams passing yards per game 234. n 23rd in the NFL passing yards per game was 23.9 this is interesting I'm going to take the under on both I think the Lions defense is better Russian yards per game Lions were fourth in the NFL 90.6 Russian yards per game was 12.3 with 11th they got Blake Corum now it's a little bit different I'm going to take the under on both I think the Lions defensive line is going to be Stout last year's 20th again I'm going to take the over on the Rams and under on the Lions Russian yards per game 139.18795 what do you guys think again who do you got L for Lions if you got the Lions winning R for Rams for the Rams a player that the Lions need to be looking out for here and that is Kobe Turner the defensive tackle last year he combined 57 tackles eight tackles for loss nine sacks and 16 quarterback hits really good and he's probably going to get better this season you look at the sack leaders that they have on the team right now again we talked about Kobe Turner at nine Byron Young at eight sacks Michael hoit six Deshawn Johnson two and Zack van valkenberg at one obviously they drafted players another player we have to look out for someone who I really like is Jared verse very good player he's one of the higher defensive rated rookies in last year's draft even though it a really offensive draft but still a really good player nonetheless a player you got to look on an offense we all know who he is Matthew Stafford he's got 3,965 yards last year 24 touchdowns 11 interceptions and a qbr of 63.5 we really get just simply got to understand that this team is an offensive team they're going to put up some numbers and I know a lot of people don't want to hear about that they want the Lions defense to completely be sticky the whole time but Stafford pukan AA and this offense is a good offense what are things that the Lions and lions fans should be looking out for well let's get into that right now I think it's the Lions special teams unit we have a new kickoff procedure we seen it in preseason the lions were having issues in coverage as well as kickoff can the Lions not do that in the regular season can the Lions be successful kicking the football off pinning the team back can the coverage unit tackle when this occurs and we haven't seen a whole lot of kick returns we expect it still to be good Freeman is going to be your returner can the Lions do that decent like we did last year as well as simply getting the field goals and extra points special team's going to be a big one in this game Jake Bates got to step up big league in this game next one here we're going to be talking about the defensive line and I think the Lions they got a much improved defensive line with Terrell Williams as the new coach we've seen in preseason the defensive line looks much better if you could get pressure on Matthew Stafford and we're talking about with Al mcneel and Marcus Davenport I just Aiden Hutchinson that would spell dividends and great news for the Lions chances to win this game also we talked about DJ reita earlier if he plays in this game it's going to really impact the run defense we were really good last year yeah we were fourth but a lot to do with the mobile quarterback you have a player like DJ reer and he's going to stop a Blake corm he's going to be able to help put this team and make the Lions onedimensional offensively so that is a very big important part to this next here I'm going to talk about the Lions new defensive backs Carlton Davis tyon Arnold and meek Robertson much improved players in the secondary these guys should do a much better job last year than kindall vildor and cam Sutton cannot wait to see how they perform but you're going against a big task here I know there's a lot of good players but we're talking about Cooper cup puka neua that's who they got to be looking out for though that's not an easy task for the Detroit Lions it's just not that's a really difficult group of wide receivers so a interceptions in that game we need to get some turnovers from our young secondary if we get pressure with that defensive line we talked about earlier Carlton Davis and Arnold they can go ahead and get the interception and change the game for the Detroit Lions vice versa Jared gof cannot throw interceptions we cannot fumble the ball we got to be responsible onto the football we give Matthew Stafford a turnover you know what he can do he can strike fast he is a quarterback that can strike very quickly so we cannot do turnovers here and that includes turnover on downs we got to be smart utilize the field position don't turn the ball over understand if we lose the battle you there's a good chance you lose the game you win the battle there's a great chance you win the game so what is my prediction here I do got the Lions winning this game 27 to 21 I just think opening game with the Lions their defense is upgraded significantly and it's going to be difficult for Matthew Stafford to replicate even the success he had in the game last year because the defense is just that much better so I suspect they'll hold the Rams to 21 points Lions will get 27 points and win the game let me know your
