Whitehall senior commits to Western Michigan University for both football and basketball

And on the Gridiron and the court, Whitehall senior Camden Thompson is heading to Western Michigan to play, not just basketball but football. So rarely heard of tonight. 13. On your side, the Al Banu spoke to Thompson about his decision to play both sports at the division one level. We can get it done on the field and on the court, I love both sports a lot and I feel like dropping one would just, you know, sell myself short and I just really wanted to, you know, pursue both Whitehall Senior Camden Thompson's future is clear. He committed to Western Michigan University to play both basketball and football. I mean, I feel like I was just connected so I just, I just felt welcomed and I feel like that's the main reason I chose that place. Thompson's played basketball all his life, but it wasn't until this year where playing football also became a priority in this past year. Football is just really, you know, been a bigger part of my life. And I mean, I just couldn't see myself not playing, you know, both because I, I don't know which one I wanna give a look at and hopefully because one day and I'll probably have to choose and, you know, I just, I'm not ready yet. Thompson is a winner in both sports. Whitehall football has gone nine and oh, in each of the previous two seasons, boy basketball was 22 and, oh, this past year led by Thompson who became the program's all time needed sports. I mean, I just try to bring them all we need. So, I mean, if we need to get rolling, I try to bring it to us and whatever football, basketball, I just try to make some big plays for us. 3% of high school athletes go on to play division one football and even lower 1% go on to play division one basketball. He's an elite teammate, uh, elite son. He does everything that he does. He does it at elite level. Um, you know, it just speaks to his uh character and being able to, uh divide his time. Thompson now turns his attention to a senior year where he has unfinished business. It doesn't really matter what you do in the regular season if he doesn't transfer over in the playoffs. So, I mean, we're gonna try to stay really disciplined and, you know, not slack up and finish the job. Hopefully this year in both sports supporting in White Hall, I'm Yao Bong too. 13 on your side sports and get this. Thompson will actually be playing quarterback for Whitehall this season. Before transitioning back to wide receiver for the Broncos next fall. Some athlete they have over at Whitehall.
