[Music] two wins from two games with mixed results on the playing patterns front it's largely a decent start for dawkings preseason and a win over local side red H in midweek featured what Mark considered to be the best performance so far the visit of Dage hamlets now a step three side will be an altogether stiffer test in the wander first home friendly and given that the gaffer sees his side as being worthy of the efl there's a bit more pressure on them to perform going into this one we got to stay really focused on what we're trying to do yeah so I've got us down what I want to be is like a League 2 quality team in Fitness and shape so I don't see any team troubling us um with the team that we will get on the pitch and at the moment we well on schedule for that obviously today these are run a lot more than the rest have theyve got some really good results and they'll have quite a lot of players a lot of changes a bit Scrappy but I expect us to be streets ahead of these right now us also include you so when you go on you doing the right things your ball retention you winning Jewels you getting in the Box you putting balls in the Box whatever that looks like you've got to look a level above to be part of our team this year CU that's what we're going to be and it is massively going to plan little few little nuances here on top of this stop shots stop crosses because we should be two or three leagues better than these but they'll be better than what we've played so don't take liberties with the slot today I don't concede [ __ ] stuff okay all right getting into an ice bath Tony Craig is reluctant to put a foot in that allows trialist to fire a shot unimpeded and give D Hamlet the lead bren's got bren's got to be higher there he got it span him Bren is gone sh boyed by the early goal hamit looked for an immediate second and Sam German applies pressure on Jason Pryor and Charlie Carter giving himself the chance to make it too Jason Jason Jason German makes the most of the laxidasical approach in Midfield and scores the most basic goal we could reasonably expect to see today it's been a dreadful opening half hour for Wanderers so they could do with Captain C dragging them back into the game f Charlie picks up the ball 20 odd yards out and drives a shots back across and into the bottom left corner catching out Dylan Barnes and injecting some quality into a dking performance that's otherwise devoid of quality the goal has quite an effect on Dorking and the prospects of an alzer seem pretty good right now C oh Camp fa need makes up for the opening goal with a bisy and the long ball from folks gives Jimmy a chance to run at Jerome binon Williams Barnes makes an excellent save to deny the flying Quaver who we have to say has been probably the best player we've seen in preseason forward we keep giving it to the right footed left back he driving out the [ __ ] wall so [ __ ] obvious he's always going to go back where are we benen it is a foul but you're you're you're you're two yards too late that's how he's got where he was right early season mistake tone you've got to press that ball all day long tone I back you bounces off his foot I think that's it that's it really first half all we done was Bounce Around in triangles with the right footed left back because we had absolutely no intention of doing [ __ ] all working on playing out patterns that that look a little bit boring unless you know what we're trying to achieve and we've got out a few times with those patterns but we're like a poor man's version of what I want to be I want to I want to look at like the way gate said do it really brilliantly I think last time we won the South or got promoted and was winning it and all that you know we were a really good football team and we had the best individuals and we won games in the right way and we were scary I don't want to win just because we got Charlie Carter who can put the ball in from 30 yards I want to win because we know what we're doing Charlie Josh that was better quicker transitions L Alie that ball has to get there earlier mate a minute to go when he got fouled just get it there the visit of step for side farum gives the Lance a chance to get get back on the right side of Mark as they look to execute the system to better effect late on in the first half they're assisted by Ryan canan's sliced [Music] clearance 15 minutes into the second half a lofted ball straight down the middle defies the wanderous defense releasing Shane Brennan he Apes Ryan Murphy's finish with a lob of his own [Applause] with a couple of minutes left the youngsters have taken over the team and yet it's the old guard of Fuller and Briggs down the right side that tears faram open allowing young trialist leyon to tap him from close range for his first goal of pre-season [Applause] I I don't think they should be asking questions about the Press if they had a few nuances that we weren't good with that's fine but I think by now they should really know that press but obviously I guess for a normal game they will know exactly what yo Will doing and then we'll show the clips on the Thursday and it'll be ABS this is or the Monday CU that's why we're investing in this fulltime bit Monday we showing clips of the opposition exactly how we're pressing exactly how we're playing out yeah yeah I mean we could we could have conceded three or four goals in that games that that wouldn't be good enough um at all yeah um everything we've done well we should have done well because we're [ __ ] three leagues above them all right look probably slightly more questions than answers but no one got injured so that's where and if we keep our full team on the whole game yeah you know like it's it's first match of the season a wait to Truro in Cornwall the the coaching team is still looking to tweak elements of the dwking system both on the ball and when they're pressing their opponents and Mark really needs his players to understand what's being asked of them if The Wanderers are going to have the kind of season he's banking [Music] on play B speed good George into the eight good Alfie back we go we're g to go high n for folks if anyone listens did it organized touch Blues just copy that well done that's well done folksy touches yeah it's been good there's been ups and downs as there is any preseason I personally don't particularly like pre-season um but I think on a whole it's been good we've got um like today pretty much everyone's training there's I think there's only one player that's not um in with the whole Squad which is always a massive bonus I think we worked work in really hard early doors I had a catch up with you and they're in really good really good shape early early season so yeah it's gone well we then sort of stripped it back and went heavy on the tactics and it's just finding that balance between keeping them sharp and fit and then um getting the the sort of tactical information in which to be fair I think if you watch our games they've delivered in in most regards in what we're looking for so it's just now about adapting that to real real life and real game situations um preseason has gone well in terms of we had a lot of boys coming back from injury from like back end of last season we've managed to try and um get them back to the same Fitness as the boys who started fresh so that's always going to be a big challenge yeah I do know what to do obviously he's we've had it drilled into us every day for the past five or six weeks so um yeah I think we're all all sort of on the same page and yeah you can see it in the games where we're trying to work on it and it's it's coming off more times than not so um yeah I'm really enjoying getting used to him and I think once the season starts it will be a real real asset for us but no certainly that you getting that that sort of apprehension which is which is good um because it gets you gives you that little bit of focus on the match day so yeah I am looking forward to it I just want to get it done and it be me I'm definitely excited yeah I want to win matches I want to win matches is I want to win games I want to um I want to make sure that we bring back winning football to metab bank I think we had it's so weird is it we finished 16th in our first year in the National League during two evenings uh with minimal signings we overachieved so arguably the only underachievement um is in our club history was one season in isolation because even the season before 16th was an overachievement for two evenings a week in that Division if you watch this season watch this season where the teams finish that are doing two evenings and I guarantee they'll be in the bottom six and mostly in the bottom four so we overachieved we overachieved we only fouled last season primarily due to um the availability and one or two signings um so we're a bit scorned bit scorned and we want to win matches want to reward the Lord to the supporters both online and Offline that have been behind us no matter what the outcome which has felt pretty incredible that was always going to be the test for me what do people think about the club when we have a bad moment and the response has been incredible the response has been roll the sleeves up can't wait for us to win again and I can just see uh you know what I want to do this time is is get the winds on board and then really build that continuity into a new Division and really kick on um which I think now we've had that
