right now you're taking a live look at Capitol Square in Downtown Madison not too crowded out there right now but it'll be a different story tomorrow and Sunday when Taste of Madison returns let's head back out to 27 storm track chief meteorologist Cameron hotman now live at Capitol Square cam that area is going to be packed tomorrow for Taste of Madison it is going to be packed but you wouldn't know that a major Madison Festival uh is going to be taking place tomorrow afternoon but that's all part of it because joining me right now the president of Madison Festival Sarah Clemy Sarah hi looking out there's not much going on right now but in the next few hours things are about to change right yeah so come 5:00 we shut down the streets and then it's just transformation City so it will go all night and we'll set everything up it'll be boom boom boom boom boom it's Controlled Chaos Controlled Chaos that's perfect now this is the 42nd year of of The Taste uh how many vendors how many folks uh come on down and and attend this 2day event right so about a qu million people are going to come over the course of the two days to enjoy the festival there's over 90 restaurants this year which is the most Taste of Madison has ever had but it's not just the 90 restaurants there's a lot of new things happening this year so we have plopa which is free arcade games Papa Shot Golf challenges pickle ball challenges we've added shade and seating which was a big thing people asked for last year we have free yoga the first hour of every morning a ton of roaming entertainment and of course the music and all of that is free everything I just mentioned is free you don't have to pay for it you just come and enjoy it that's fantastic now as far as food goes you're saying there are some new things that are going to be served this year that sound really kind of interesting what are some of those oh my gosh I don't talk about my favorite kids there's so many wonderful things so we actually earlier this month had an event called Taste of taste where our restaurants come out sample some of their food our attendees at that event vote on their favorites that list is noted on our website as well as on our Facebook page who the winners were so I suggest you go check those out okay well lot 250,000 people on the way for this weekend it's going to be a glorious beautiful fantastic weekend Sarah thank you so much for joining us we'll talk to you again here in a few minutes thank you Sarah CLM the president Clemy uh the president of Madison festivals and she is going to be a very busy person over the next 24 to 48 hours as The Taste gets underway
