Thunderstorms leave some without power in Kansas, Missouri

THIS IS FIRST ALERT WEATHER. WELL, THERE'S SOME RAIN OUT THERE. THAT'S FOR SURE. YES. COMING DOWN QUITE HEAVILY. I DO MEAN TO CUT YOU OFF, LAURA. I'M SORRY. NO, NO, NO, I'M JUST I'M AGREEING, AND I HOPE IT'S RAINING AT MY HOUSE. OH, IT IS UP NORTH, AND IT'S NOT AS HEAVY AS WHATAT'S HAPPENING DOWN SOUTH. AND WISH WE COULD HAVE THE RAIN WITHOUT THIS GUSTY WINDS UP TO 50 OR 60 MILES AN HOUR. MAIN THREAT ALSO DIME SIZED HAIL, LOWER CHANCES, ISOLATED HEAVY RAINFALL. BUT I TELL YOU WHERE IT IS RAINING. IT'S COMING DOWN QUITE A BIT. HERE'S A LOOK AT FIRST ALERT LIVE RADAR. WE HAVE THIS ONE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING THAT IS NOW OUT ONCE AGAIN FOR A PORTION OF JOHNSON COUNTY ON THE KANSAS SIDE GOES ACROSS STATE LINE INTO CASS COUNTY AS WELL. SO AS YOU SEE HERE, NEW CENTURY AIR, THAT'S WHERE OUR RADAR IS LOCATED. AND ALSO OLATHE. AND IT GOES A LITTLE FARTHER SOUTH INTO PORTIONS OF MIAMI COUNTY, TOO. THEN ACROSS THE STATE LINE INTO CASS COUNTY. THAT'S WHERE THE HEAVIEST SEEMS TO BE. AND AS MENTIONED, THOUGH, THERE IS SOME LIGHTER SHOWERS CLOSER TO, SAY, KANSAS CITY, UP NORTH, NOT AS HEAVY AND CERTAINLY NOT AS WIDESPREAD, BUT STILL ACROSS THE AREA. THEN WE GO FARTHER OUT TO THE WEST, NEAR LEAVENWORTH AND OUT TOWARD BASEHOR, AND EVENTUALLY TOWARD TONGANOXIE. HIT AND MISS SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS AGAIN, NOT HIT AND MISS AS FAR AS ANYTHING ORGANIZED BESIDES THAT ONE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING, WHICH IS FARTHER DOWN TO THE SOUTH AND THAT'S PROBABLY GOING TO CONTINUE UNTIL 645, WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR GUSTY WINDS A AS WELL AS SOME OF THAT SMALL HAIL. THE SECONDARY ONE I WANT TO SHOW YOU IS JUST THE BIG PICTURE. AS YOU SEE, ONCE AGAIN, MOST OF IT IS ON THE KANSAS SIDE AND NOT IN ANY GREAT HURRY TO MOVE. IT IS FAIRLY STATIONARY, WHICH IS GOING TO CAUSE AT LEAST SOME ISSUES WITH REGARD TO AT LEAST SOME STREET FLOODING, AND OTHER THAN THAT, THIS IS THE ONLY PARTICULAR AREA THAT WE'RE CONCERNED ABOUT. WE MAY SEE SOME REDEVELOPMENT, BUT FOR THE MOST PART IT SHOULD BE GONE BY 10:00, 11:00 TONIGHT. ACCORDING TO FIRST ALERT FUTURESCAN. IT'S GOING TO CONTINUE TO MOVE FARTHER TO THE EAST AND NORTHEAST SLOWLY, BUT SURELY. AND THEN, AS BY MIDNIGHT, MOST OF IT IS GONE. THIS IS ON THE PLAZA. NOT TOO LONG AGO I COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING. RIGHT NOW, 82 DEGREES WHERE IT'S NOT RAINING, AND THAT DEW POINT AT 69. SO IT JUST FEELS SOUPY. SO WE DO HAVE THOSE THUNDERSTORMS OUT THERE THIS EVENING, WHICH IS WHY IT'S AN IMPACT DAY. ALSO BECAUSE OF THAT, AS WELL AS THE BAD AIR QUALITY WE HAD EARLIER, WILL DRY OUT TO 72 TONIGHT AND GET UP TO 92 TOMORROW. HOT AND HUMID, BUT NO MENTION OF RAINFALL TOMORROW. NEXT CHANCE WILL BE COMING IN ON THURSDAY AND THAT BRINGS IN A TOTALLY DIFFERENT AIR MASS THAT WE'RE GOING TO ENJOY. 72 TO 92 ON YOUR WEDNESDAY. BUT TO SHOW YOU A LITTLE MORE HOW THAT'S GOING TO PLAY OUT 70 IN THE MORNING, 89 BY 2:00, AND ONLY GETTING INTO THE LOWER 90S IN THE AFTERNOON. A SUN CLOUD MIXTURE AND A LIGHT SOUTH WIND AT FIVE MILES AN HOUR. STILL SOME HUMIDITY OUT THERE, SO IT WILL FEEL STILL KIND OF SOUPY. THEN HEADING INTO THURSDAY, THAT'S WHEN WE SEE OUR CHANCES OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITH THIS COLD FRONT THAT WILL BE MOVING THROUGH, IT WILL STILL DRAW SOME MOISTURE FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO. THAT WILL GIVE US A VERY GOOD CHANCE OF RAIN. BEST CHANCE WILL BE LATE ON THURSDAY TO END ON FRIDAY AS WELL. LOOK AT THE HIGH THE DIFFERENCE FROM 90S TO NEAR 80. SO WE GO BELOW NORMAL. WE STAY THERE. SATURDAY 82, S SUNDAY 80 DEGREE. HOW ABOUT HIGHS? ONLY IN THE 70S FOR LABOR DAY ITSELF, THE DAY AFTER LABOR DAY. THE DAY. THE DAY AFTER, AS WE'RE GOING TO STAY IN THE 70S FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS THEREAFTER. AND MORNING TEMPERATURES IN THE 50S LOOKS PRETTY GOOD. ALSO, FOOTBALL WEATHER FOR THE CHIEFS, SO A FEW STRONG STORMS RIGHT NOW AND THEN WE WILL SEE THOSE THINGS START TO COME BACK IN THE FORM OF MUGGY CONDITIONS ON YOUR THURSDAY. A
