PS5 Disc Drives are being SCALPED

okay so um I was supposed to be doing this stream like um last night but I fell asleep and there has been a lot of developments that that made the PS5 Pro controversy even worse so um to start things off we will be um okay we're good so we'll be we only have 10 hours to complete the challenges we're just going to do the Sunday cup so we could use any road car we want we use the automobile so this is only five laps so this is going to be sure because first we're going to cover um the fact that dis drives are now the new victim of scalping I mean dis drives for the PlayStation 5 are now the victims of scalping and oh [Music] spinning um yeah so the PS5 this drives of being scalped when the MSRP should be around like um around like what is it uh 10,000 Yen but it's being sold for as much as 3,000 yen uh 30,000 yen on um places like merari and uh oh spinning again it's pretty disastrous honestly my driving's disastrous the PS5 Pro is a disaster in itself too so I got I go to be careful because my car is probably too fast here so oh okay this is the last one yes I am laughing someone so that's why a blue flag cuz I'm driving my I like how they have these electronic Flags or something but we just going to after we do this we're going to start a different um race we got first place but our car got banged up so got clean race M 150,000 grand T mod credits so we won't be watching this sadly and yes I'm using HDR this stream too so um first we're going to look at uh at the tickets since those are time limited so I'm going to take care of that right now I reach 4 million credits I mean credits are so hard to earn in this game so let's just find another event that we could do yeah so we'll try to find a longer race that we could do so we're going to choose say we're going to the high performance okay so going back to the topic of the PS5 Pro and the disc dve Drive some people not that even with our our our sales tax it's actually cheaper to buy a PS5 Pro in the US than it is in Japan because the current exchange rate is only like 142 Yen per dollar and Son's pricing is done at like 170 Yen per dollar 160 at market rate when they decided upon it and an additional 10% Sony tax so um hold on that was not clean at all um so that's not the only thing we have to be worried about because because the PS5 Pro is already unattractive in Japan it's also unattractive in the West too because of its high price point War disposable incomes recession and all that stuff and yeah and most people I forgot to factor in a few things that make the PS5 Pro even less popper in Japan I I can name two factors that that that that contribute to the decline of the PlayStation brand in Japan after the PS5 Pro announcement the first one is that is more likely for people in Japan to have a smartphone that can do HDR tone mapping then a 4K uhg TV which is a luxury in Japan because the Living Spaces are small or something yes it can get bigger Living Spaces in Japan but those cost a lot of money and there's not much and there's also the the risk that you you may lose your house to a natural disaster where be an earthquake a tsunami Landslide Heavy Rain [Music] typhoon just l so that's why the um PS5 Pro is like a luxury but there's another Factor earlier this morning in Eastern time the peeka who is a uh one of the top vtubers in the whole life uh vtuber agency said that it was just doing a collab with Lenovo and she was talking about the legion series and there's a lot of people who are interested in the legion series especially the gaming laptops and the desktop but although the region go is not explicitly mentioned in the Stream I think the legion go is probably going to be very popular amongst gamers in Japan despite concerns about National Security or something wait is that the Nissan that's not the Nissan from the movie so yeah I'm also plan to get HDR monitor soon but I I think I'm going to buy a laptop first because that's for my next semester there 7 seconds behind the first place go find your own line like MBO but yeah this drives are being scalped and the the reaction to to the to such a terrible scenario in Japan uh oh I think that's kind of karmatic um that I fell behind to sex but again this event is kind of hard so we got got to try outspeed the um the ASD Mar's kind of fast okay let's see if we can get up to first I le start before the um before the final LA but yeah the SSD no actually the the PS5 like dis drive keeps getting galed and as a result um it has led to negative reception in both Japan and the West this is even more evident in Japan because in Japan people still prefer physical media over digital media and that's why there's still an abundance of dis drives I mean the last time I checked in the US compared to Japan it's because um people in America they really want digital only stuff which I totally opposed because you owe nothing and you will be happy I took the words right out of the WF and I don't like the WF okay I'm in dirt place I just got to drive more carefully so that's why people in Japan they still like dis drives and now they're in short supply plus there was another Scandal like just a few weeks ago when Sony hid the price no it was last week of course when Sony like hid the stock for PlayStation 5 uh consoles before the price increase in Japan and uh after that Sony like uh showed the stock after the price increase so this is called stock manipulation and this is this is definitely ille should be illegal but it's the PS5 generation is a disaster and not sure what people are cooking when they say the PS5 is so good or something it's because of consumerism and crony capitalism or um corporatism yeah and scalpers are quick to capitalize on the PS5 pro lack of a disc drive so in total if you go to Japan and buy PS5 Pro it may cost about $1,000 with the current exchange rate as my predictions state that um the dollar will fall further against the Yen by the end of October it'll probably fall even more in at the beginning of November depending on who um gets in the White House so we got first place and drove 20 kilometers I use a metric system so hold on just going to load up the one of the pages that I want to show you first I got ref freshman merari stuff since the global e-commerce is 24 hours okay exhibit a this is a uh hold on let me just change the window capture exhibit a this is the PS5 uh Pros uh pricing you can see that that it's being sold for almost 20,000 Y which is about I don't know $130 or something when the us it's about sold about $80 there's a lot of scalpers and they're all sold out except for these two listings but or three listings up here so they're getting extremely expensive in Japan now if we go look at um Yahoo auctions Japan you can see that some people have a have a buy now price for about 258 20 25,000 800 y plus shipping is 1,000 Y which means that it's around uh let me see it's about $200 so that's double of what's in uh what's in the US or something and now it's and we have other listings too of course course like they they have so many bids they have so many scalpers it's not funny honestly there are too many people preparing for the PlayStation 5 the real sale price would be around 20,000 y yeah I just confirmed that resellers scalpers took action he said that the disc drives may sell better than the actual product even after making a pro version you still want to go to uh use game stores to sell things or buy things used the only place it sold as of yesterday was the Sony store uh and it's still they still they show even when it's out stock so they said it's the rwood disc drive controversy if you don't know what Raya is it's basically any any time in Japanese history that began on May 1st 2019 but I think the r and waya might mean great reset or something don't think too much about it though and it's only option for poor scalpers who can't afford 120,000 y for now if I just buy the drive and sell it can I make decent amount of money is there anyone who would buy this the PS5 just dve be used on PC no it's 100% proprietary there's still people who use physical media itci would be better to just buy the disc driver rather than risk that's a w bit of a high hyperbolic statement it said I bought a use one for about 7,000 yen on Gio when I was playing roon Rises are ruing and the times the prices are high and the demands unpredictable so I thought we saw scalpers in move I didn't know there way to do it like this um and need see why necessary to have a this incl to be sell in mland China is there also a way to hide inventory before price release yes there is if you connect to the PlayStation 4 via PlayStation store via a a Mele connection there're strict censorship you can't buy many games so you need the disc or something like that without this you cannot be complete this one will have to be raised to nearly 20,000 y if there are people use the prot fact they're still likely buying this suggest that the download version is even Wily available even among scalpers might become popular to the drive from a normal slim PS5 sell in a free market it's resell garbage it's bought at the so if I don't buy the manual I'll just resell the PS5 Pro will end up being sold out I won't be able to buy it there's no disc point in selling discs to me in China so this is probably resale for Japanese I bet they'll s for a high price armor car or something I see even though they said there's a shift to an all digital future the M with the drives are song better I wonder if we be a successfully just download the free software and wait until the drives are available and they they assume that the allocation for Japan is small and the scalpers are moving fast so yeah and there's more here D where to put this drive yes you have to put it at the bottom PS5 won't sell out well and there's no demand for desk drive if that's the case the game s will probably sell well but re the reason it's not refected in the rankings is because it's selling in Hong Kong and Taiwan and let me reiterate these two statements # free Hong Kong and Taiwan is a country no sensorship or intimidation can convince me otherwise not allowed to be used so um to commercially available drive so scers like it's time to buy this drive and the retails like they're sell like pancakes PlayStation is 90% download so this is going to happen to put on and the end can't get rid of the scalpers scalpers are targeting this not the Pro itself but the main unit is too expensive there's a high risk of purchasing it it was sold out everywhere if I even if I attach it to the main un it does not work unless you connect it to the internet and authenticate online which raises another question what I have Region 2 DVDs I heard there's like this this one thing where you have to like you only have a limited amount of region changes before it gets permanently locked to one region or something replace driver for res I manag to buy just in time drive cover is not compatiable looks awward not point the reservation or uh release date for pros on a weekday is that okay no it's not after you need a special version you can laugh at scalpers so the original digital Edition has a better drive Val cover for the desk and they have other stuff if the official statement is a lie it call spur controversy so that'll be interesting in itself yeah this how stock good chance to raise crisis now a former Obama staffer said never let a good crisis go to waste but I um did some research on who um who that Obama staffer is and ironically he's the current US ambassador to Japan so now I have mixed feelings about him despite him praising the Japanese real system St no paid repairs or replacement so uh people in Mainland need disc drive so I don't have to buy the Hong Kong version of the software and a package from play Asia I could buy direct from PS Store in Hong Kong and download it hope the pro sells well enough to sell the stock we have and two terabyte is for download use we sell a failure and price is likely to increase on the the pr releas so yeah there's Al you have a lot of software including PS4 software if you're just going to sell as soon as you play I don't think you need a dis Drive anymore um okay we we're GNA replay this like last time um complet a new game and selling it immediately means you could play for under 2,000 yeah making it the best value for money hobby um and there no more places to sell p packages so probably best away for DLC stes or something most people buy their PS5 of disc drive so yeah why don't sell drives then I stop buying pers when I had a PS4 I bought almost all my games from the PS store so I bought the digital Edition for PS5 didn't cause any problems although I only bought two games for a PS5 it's obvious that this is going to happen so so so needs to take measures or they'll be criticized uh yeah there's a lot of comments here you has this Contin production switch to ordering so you want one order quickly resale should be resale should be prohibited for a certain period After Time release considering the current situation where the digital Edition is selling at all I think it's just wishful thing to think that everyone will Shi to download as soon as Pro came out and there's also blu rays or failures to desire go district and make it look cheaper is apparent I guess it probably be in stock on a proe St but scalers will be hunted down so act fast or it could go for 40,000 Yan to be Series this in short supply from the start and sold out in the law it is so small for not releasing it with a drive and not when people think it's too expensive it's expensive even without the drive the pro version has a function that boosts PS four games so um yeah I guess Gio and other places have managed to survive by some secondhand games may cut down the number of PS PlayStation games they carry soon wants to go dis less or All Digital so they they're reducing shipment and dri stock will replenish soon my my ass the price will go up op so yeah production of the op optical drive has been discontinued you have to buy the standard version even a USB connected portable buay drive for PC that doesn't come with software for playback it cost less than 10,000 y so there is because someone wants to make money with their proprietary BS so that's why so um not enough Pur memory cards up to PS2 on PS3 so it became premium item switch light Swit normal o switch PS5 digital PS5 normal and PS5 Pro it's not even sold in stores the PS5 is already being ruined by scalpers it's over before it even started or I should say jover is this for resale overseas uh find for PS1 PS2 compatible um module with a CD DVD boot Drive PS1 2 controller and memory cards gsse and cell and box sports game archives I don't think some would do it because of their cultural revolution destroy the old PlayStation make the new PlayStation so $1 150 y the all selling for 223,000 y excluding tax but interested hard course package so see you SE a disc it'll make a nuisance noises for a while every time you start up so if you don't mind downloading might be better not to have a drive well I do mind because because all digital future is what the WF wants so pull out inventory to recent price again so yeah they are doing sock manipulation yeah no plans all all sales were smash local Mass retails couldn't find it they went to book off and bought for 9,000 yeah nobody was mons a down machine yes I agree with number 139 because if because a lot of people say that the Corp the corporate overlords say that they they want downloads but in reality people don't want downloads the majority of people don't want downloads except for some quote unquote intellectuals on Discord or something there a man with dis drives and ter sear kept the place below 100,000 y well if you go to dware you could buy a PS5 Pro for under 100,000 Yen with the current exchange rate so let's go to this tab so the trailer has over 220,000 dislikes which is the worst rating in PS history so it's undeniable fact that likes only make about 3% video views and they say it's expensive is in the UK is because uh it's Jim Ryan's home based and retaliation for parent parental treatment or because it was easiest place to get in the world there's also Fanboys lot of people who misunderstood that it was only expensive in Japan but it's unbelievably expensive in countries other than the us as someone in chat on the live live stream said if you buy a disc drive and a PS5 Pro that would be a total of over $1,000 upset more upset about the lack of disc than the price so yeah there was still something outside the US it wouldn't change their place so according to this post which was published today there's only 57,000 likes but 222,000 dislikes it's j PS4 has become a YouTube player at some point so they'll probably hold have the same fi so 120,000 Y is out of the question let me check all chat messages um the upper wi for home game consoles is 50,000 so there are very few enthusiasts who can afford more than that so a PC is fine at least anything over 50,000 yen is not a place that can be used as a main device even 80% of PlayStation users won't won't defend it there aren't even 20% Fanatics it was amazing that they were always the PSI for under 50,000 but people said it was too expensive and out of the question but has really terrible parts and above all the specs AR that great and while blow CU it's at 60 and 120 frames that Li on third parties it's a pro and 60 has to be a minimum otherwise there's no point I'm not saying 240 frames for the pro but I could understand went over 120 we'll cap out at 120 even third parties are not going to make more than 120 it's just better graphic and slightly shorter load times than the five inconvenient numbers continue to grow yeah I'm just rambling at this point but you can't afford to pay 80,000 y or 120,000 y that's that's a prediction so YouTube doesn't allow you to see dislikes well unless you have a browser extension or something $700 is crazy wow no competitors is easier decision for starting to raise the price for PS5 Pro Xbox is weak while Nintendo's on its own for kids and families so Global sales for PS5 62 million units but only but only like 10% of them were sold domestically so wow $700 is crazy then there's also a Nintendo Direct without a Nintendo title which um was a little controversial at first but we did get Yakuza kiwami and the trails in the sky remake which I'm looking forward to so yeah even desperate people only play games on PC only play games by PC well PCS are the future of gaming because of the fact that you can do your schoolwork you could do emulation don't tell Nintendo you can um do video editing streaming and gaming and then you have Nintendo Direct which had 2 million concurrence had 96% favorable but the second most is a PS Trail is 95% favorable it's not high because of Nintendo it's not one because of PlayStation it's simply the numbers that um result from rejection steam is great because you can get refund in two hours but PlayStation is just rubbish to be honest even though the wages are high in America prices are 2.3 Times Higher in Japan so you can't make a simple comparison um I beg to deer because um you could just listen to all Anthony's head song and you'll find out why okay so that only play games not properly so for is only slightly better than Xbox series X so it's not going to sell multiples of and a profit margins will be large Fanboys again 200,000 people who can only see the ones who have it to pay 100,000 just for get we Japan while is this kind of thing the game industry is finished and there and and then that's it for today because um overall sentiment of the PS5 Pro remains negative because of the fact that um not only is a price too high and unjustified especially in a Japanese context but there's now scalpers who are buying a PS5 disc drives and to add further field to the fire for Sony um peeka of H live did a coab with renovo this morning in Eastern time so I think with all this off Sony's corporate mismanagement and off tone messaging it's the choice is clear people want gaming PCs and not the PS5 because you know the double standard Central ship that the PS5 has right so yeah after I this replay is done I'll actually um go but yeah not sure why I'm streaming so much lately but I literally have a lot of stuff regarding like my college work and stuff stuff so yeah it's just really sad how the PlayStation 5 is it's just the dark ages of gaming honestly so many never warn from their mistakes what lap is this me Shu we have about five minutes but I guess we're going to end it early because in conclusion I think the PS5 will go down in history as being one of the worst consoles in history and it's also evidence because the fact that the PS5 was the second largest console in America the first would be a t 5200 but worldwide it's second um it's the first largest uh console in the world so that's why
