DUNLINGR - THE NEW POWER CREEP?! [AFK Journey]

hey guys welcome back to AFK journey in today's video we are checking out dun linger here is the new Celestial we're over here on the Pioneer server don't know when he's going to be coming to Global but this gives us a look at him first impression is dude is god tier in PvP uh for everything else he kind of hinders your own team as well so we'll have to see how he works I haven't seen anything or thought of any great teams for bossing or AFK stage pushing yet but I do think someone could definitely find something for him but let's go through it so on unfortunately here his skill descriptions are a bit jumbled uh but I'll do my best to explain it and we're going to go through his skills then I'll show you him in some basic combat and then I'll show you him in PvP and the way he's currently being used so dun linger does designate the bell of order as either spellbind or cure lock before the battle starts setting the stage for the battle's order so essentially he has two modes let's call it and all of his skills will have a different uh effect based on the mode one of them is going to be a yellow aura and one's a purple Aura and you can actually click a button on his little portrait to change it before the battle so you get to choose which order he's going in with um and basically when you are in spell spellbind while the Bell is up uh no one is able to cast an ultimate and while it's the other one the Cure lock which is going to be the purple one are unable to recover HP for others so that is the two effects that we have and as you can see um active dling is summons the bell of order uh declaring an order that is all that all non-boss units on both sides must obey uh for 6 seconds but passively he summons the bell of order when the battle stops and keeps it on the field for 12 seconds and it deals damage every time it's summoned now after he's defeated it only remains for the order only remains for 30% of the remaining time essentially I'm just going to tell the out this because every time I try and read it it just gets so jumbled at the start of battle for 12 seconds it can go up with his all power uh one of these orders is going to be in place meaning all play all characters on the battlefield there is an exception which will go into an his other skilled but the one that you're commonly going to see in PvP at the moment is him used the yellow one uh which is the spellbind which means no one on the field can ult so we've just had Lily may which was made as a counter to iron this guy just counts counters everyone from using their ultimate but you can put a blessing on an ally with him which you'll see in a sec which put one of your allies immune to that effect now the other option is we can have the healing block capability which I haven't seen used as much the one we are looking at more is the alt blocking capabilities of this guy so let's go into the next one he receives a a shock wave sorry he releases a shock wave covering the frontal area three tile wide and three tile long dealing four hits of damage uh to each Enemy Within if the bell of order is set to spellbind which is the alt cancelling one he reduces the enemy's attack speed by an extra 60 for 4 seconds if the Bell is set to cure lock which is the heal block one uh he deals extra damage equal to 3% of the enemy's lost HP up to 30% of his own attack that's essentially what it is so just a shock wave we get attack speed reduction is going to be the most common one or we're going to get the extra damage out of it moving on from that we have harmonic sound wall if the bell of order is set to spellbind no Alt he gains a shield that absorbs damage whenever an enemy casts their ultimate lasting until the battle ends if the bell of order is set to cure lock the heal block one he gains a shield that absorbs uh damage each time he loses 20% of his max HP pretty self-explanatory he gets a shield on differing conditions and as you can see these two honestly not crazy abilities the magic lies in this and then when we get to his exclusive equipment uh he reduces damage taken by 10% this is his hero Focus uh while the order is in effect he further reduces by an extra 5% goes up to 168 then we have his exclusive equipment now this is a very uh a very brief description but it is impactful he protects the farthest non-s summoned Ally ensuring they are not affected by his order until the Ally is defeated so you get an ally who was immune to the old disruption but then we also get um increases the protected allies attack and also increases their haste so now we're also buffing that Ally the final one is his Supreme plus uh upon casting the echo of Silence which is his ultimate duning grants all allies 50 attack speed for 6 seconds if the order is set to spell blind or provides them with 25 life drain if the order is set to cure lock because the Cure lock is healing to others able to recover HP for others so for yourself I'm pretty sure that is why that would still work and that is why it gives you life drain but the big one here is if you're going into PVP looking at this guy you have it on the um the spellbind so no one can use an ultimate however one Ally that you designate is going to be able to use their ultimate and they are going to be uh turbocharged with the extra Buffs plus they're also going to get an addal attack speed buff on top of the haste and attack that he is providing through this one and that is the true magic of him and when I say I I have haven't seen a team for him in AFK stages I haven't tested one yet uh that I that I think would work uh nor with um Whatchamacallit with bossing it's because no matter which order the order that's going to give you the most damage output for your Alli is going to be the ultimate lock one but then you're locking yourselves out of ultimates now it's not a permanent lock it will it will lapse and then you will be able to cast all your ultimates then he will cast his ultimate then you'll have 6 seconds with no ultimates so it may time but this it's just going to take a lot more testing to find find out but I want to go ahead and show you guys over here we'll just slap into an AFK stage and I just want to show you the way he functions here so as you can see here our furthest Ally if we want to do it like this like the the weird thing is there is no way that Thoren is the furthest Ally in this situation which really frustrates me um so I've got to do it there I I don't know it feels bugged on the way it applies cuz I was trying to put it on uh I've only built up a few characters here to test with PVP mainly um and that's why because just upgrading everyone's exclusive equipment is tedious on these servers um but as you can see here for some reason uh it's is Thoren actually the furthest I guess so I don't know but anyway you got to do it like this but essentially you can see the ring around uh the back that means it is applying that effect that um means he's not going to be affected by the order now if we see on his little portrait here you can see his little portrait we've got his faction symbol and then right next to that we have this little yellow button if we click that it goes purple purple is the heal block one and then yellow is the alt block one and when we hit start battle you can see every character will have no alt written on them and you can see the Bell that comes out and it sets the field around that shows you that you know that it is still active so that is how you know the alts are not being uh you're not able to cast but you do have the one Ally that is immune you can see he has just gone there and casted his ultimate again but there you can see dionel is able to cast his ult because he does have the buff that makes him immune to it and that is the basic Synergy that you are operating off of with him you're buffing your big DPS uh and locking everyone out and that's pretty much the function of him now I'm curious to see if we can get some energy regeneration strategies and stuff like that we'll have to wait and see but that is the basic uh basic strategy the way he works like I said his other two abilities are not crazy in their effects uh it's mainly about his exclusive equipment his Supreme plus which is further buffing uh and then his ultimate and that that is like the core part of his kit if we go into here to Arena um you'll see that pretty much everyone is sort of using this strategy so you kind of get roped into using it oh someone who's not using it let's just find uh and yesterday I've only done one day's worth of attacks um we'll see okay people not using it okay well this gives us a p perect opportunity you can see here I was trying to use my strategy of um putting a DL behind uh Thoren so that he was protected and then you get the thing but unfortunately the um it doesn't work in the way I wanted it to maybe we do something like this and keeping protected uh I'm trying to use so essentially when we jumped in everyone was using this cop oh dude my fa my face cam froze rip uh let me fix that up quickly deactivate activate there it is all right so essentially what happened was uh everyone was using this comp and but everyone was using like freest because we have all the characters and everyone was just using full gig wh like okay I'm going to use the three Gods uh and then I'm going to try and split into two normal factions that's just what I got so this is where we're at I apologize I know we're using whale stuff um and I will do testing I'm probably going to summon this guy on one of my accounts on my free-to-play accounts and then I'll do more free-to-play based teams with him uh but I just want to show you guys the general gist of what we are looking at with this guy so let's go ahead here what we're actually going to do is put this on DL and then he can go ham so you're going to see we're just going to we're just going to essentially melt them uh it's kind of unfair at this point uh against this team so we'll refresh we'll see CU honestly yesterday literally everyone was using the three Gods being Deon L Scara and uh and duner it was it was insane but as you can see we just do that um yeah uh game get Frozen There You Go Happy Days uh but yeah it's the problem with these kind of God servers is everyone has everything and so I I just it it just becomes you have to use the gigwell stuff uh which is kind of frustrating I will experiment with some more stuff but as you can see here once again you you can see so this is frustrating look at this dude's look at this dude's D dun Dinger and his Aura is being applied to that um that D onl this guy's using the same Str that I was but for some reason reason for me when I do it it goes onto my thorn I feel like there's something buggy with the uh the positioning tactics of it but uh I mean it is what it is not much we can do so he is using the exact same strategy as me so let's let's go ahead and see this he's just using the Smokey instead of the uh instead of the uh Damian so let's let's see how this pans out and we'll just do some God Wars you got you guys know how it is okay my D ding is done uh which means he wins he stra wins uh if you if you lose yours you lose so there you go and as you can see this is basically what these God level servers are it feels like playing on server one it's like you just bring the gods and see how you go um but like I said it's weird that that targeting of the the furthest Ally works for some teams but not for others it's a bit of a strange one let's just slap in here once again you see the Bell go up you see that they've got their Bell up as well uh and you can see because their Bell is up I can't Al uh even though I'm immune to mine so you can see that my DL and this is where I think the crazy counter strates are going to come in because my DL could not Al even though he had the immunity to duning is effect because he's not immune to the opposition duning is effect so I think it's just going to be it's going to be this weird ass meta in the Giga whale territories and I think if you're on a free-to-play server and you pull for him I think you'll dominate Arena but it's like do you need to is the thing uh the game incentivizes pretty much uh dream realm over all else and unless we can get a unit to be good in dream realm uh unless you're really struggling to stay like top 100 or so in Arena then there's not too much stress to it so we'll have to wa and see but like I said dude seems like an absolute beast in Arena um have to see if he gets some uh more viability in AFK stage pushing and in dream realm maybe in dream realm we you can get some teams where uh your allies cycle their alss in between the six-second durations of his Bell and way you go uh but you know I I haven't seen anyone testing anything great yet I haven't found any great teams Within Myself uh but I do have to invest more into every other herotic
