Austin Dylan was fastest in practice and he was one the first cars out on the option Tire we'll see if it translates into speed [Music] here I tell you this car looks good this car looks really really [Music] good yeah [Music] 2279 that's a huge Improvement I think you're getting ready to see what the fast guys are going to run Rick I think think this track is to Jeff's point he had this hope in the dream that the that the it was going to be fair and same gra trip grip for everyone but Richmond is rearing its ugly head he made adjustments this time though definitely better oh yeah second fastest at a 2285 we talk about experience there it was Danny got a good one and two went down in three and four coming to the white and it did not work like he wanted right it looked to me like it got tight in the middle big gain it's spent all the way back to talad in the spring since these last both of the drivers made the final round we'll see if they'll be able to do it today as Bubba Wallace goes to the top 78 there you go cut it off save that lap on the tires 2289 is what we'll compare Chase to that's Ty Gibbs and he is currently fifth Chase trying to break into that top five most of the Hendrick cars waited tell later in practice to go out then and this lap is a monster yes waiting seems to have paid off for the driver of the nine as this is going to be without a doubt the fastest lap we've seen today all right shut it down no need to run good let's see if he let's see what this is right here can he knock Chase Elliott off right now it's looking pretty good oh yeah without a doubt I mean this is a no-brainer that's a huge lap for reic all right we're good we're good1 2254 hell yeah but you know back to Bush if if you would have told him two weeks ago how you qualify 12th at Richmond You' been all right with that I agree hey I'm good with that we can get done what we need to do right so yes disappointed didn't make the top 10 but he's going to start 12 it's a long ride home great lap for Josh Barry look at this long on the chip too yeah here we going and gaining time this is going to perhaps battle reic is the fastest lap of the day yes sir 49 third out and a 2249 for Josh Barry track's getting faster I don't think he's going to be a better that L just didn't roll through one and two didn't roll the middle very well little bit better through three and four but not enough to improve 2267 oh it's so close so close [Music] with only a couple behind him you know you would think if you could sneak in it might hold on he might do just that he does sneak in he's 2264 which is fourth fastest and still in the red for Kyle [Music] Larson not going to do it this lap can he pick up on lap two he was eighth fastest a little bit better through one but he's lost a little bit of that speed going into three and four yeah I just don't think there's a 10th available on exit I think lano's going to get it done not a lost that bet and Larson doesn't make the second round big smiles Joey Lano you know having one lap two laps tires being hot what is a reasonable speed how fast can you go and when you're the first guy the only thing you're doing is going out there and feeling the grip how much grip do I have that's what race car drivers do but an 85 is not the speed that they were wanting there I don't think but if you're the second guy out you know that pace he ran an 85 it gives you a little something to shoot for interesting of approach down the the backstretch Rick you pointed it out I think the forwards most of the forwards seem to be shifting on the back at least the pensy Fords I can't speak to Josh Barry I don't remember what he [Music] did it was close Denny must have had a really good three and four cuz TRX could hang with him in one and two a 92 for [Music] TRX out of four just not enough racetrack so Trux [Music] has a big Arc getting in the corner he's really stayed out a long time got to the bottom [Music] late going the wrong direction through three and four tenth of a second slower Barry right now rad two and not going the right direction the slowest car of the cars in advance was Denny Hamlin and here he is the fastest when it's all over Rick he wins the poll it's his 43rd career Poll for Denny Hamlin and already his third this season Dylan let's step in and get uh get his reaction as he and Chris gabart watch all these cars go did that surprise you it seemed like your guys reaction would indicate that we were the slowest car in the first round but um yeah we uh the team made a great adjustments that's uh the bottom line to it and uh he told me if I backed up my time I we we'd have a shot at it uh but uh you know certainly a great job of this whole FedEx Camry team and uh certainly unexpected given kind of the practice and uh first round qualifying we had so what did your car do there that you felt like was the Difference Maker even even maybe compared to your three or your two teammates there we just made the correct adjustments that you know we're going to have to make for for the race as well so I think uh I think we're heading in the right direction all right Denny Hamlin on the
