the Friday Night Lights were on and the big stage set between The Showdown for modern day and Bishop Gorman final score in favor of the monarchs 31 to 15 Bishop Gorman never kicked it into gear here's head coach Brent Browner on what went wrong for The gales we made a lot of mistakes we missed a lot of opportunities I mean they're a good football team but we had our chances we didn't convert we didn't do the things we had to do defense we got to hold up better right I mean it's it's a start set of offense they got you know three four five star receivers five star running back we still had our chance to miss tackles things like that so no real side is to blame for it it's just we just got to do a better job obviously me as a coach I got to do a better job of coaching um I think both game plans were fine for both coordinators it's just I got to do a better job and we're in practice to make sure if I'm if I see somebody doing something not supposed to do then I got to nip it in the butt and I got to get somebody else some fresh legs in there it was 14 nothing right away I mean you think the team just wasn't quite ready at the start they weren't ready to go no I think I mean for whatever reason this year we've been a little slow on offense first couple things but I you know I was very confident when we were coming out of that thing I said when we get the ball back at halftime I thought it was going to be just like it's been every other game you know we just got off to a rough start get a 15 yd penalty which putch you back 30 yards stalls a drive out and then defense goes back out and you know couple Miss tackles here and then do work out for us touchdown the Henry touchdown in the corner seemed like nobody even made a call what did you guys see on that and what were you what would you expect to happen out of there if I told the ref like this I couldn't I mean I didn't I can't see it but that kid is good enough to make some crazy play like that so I can't right know like I can't argue that like that dude he's five star number one two three whatever in the nation like he's going to make plays like that right we knew that you know we knew that going in we knew we had to weather some storms from those guys um I think we did like I said we just we just got to kind of get back to and just just kind of relive and kind of revamp what we're doing on both sides of the ball a little bit and that's what she do after your lives right like you got to live got to tell yourself the truth right if you can't tell yourself the truth never get better so we're going to tell ourselves the truth come tomorrow the next day meet with the kids on Monday tell them the truth you know and that's what that's how you get better
