THE FOUR PIN ONE MAGNITUDE QUAKE WAS CENTERED FIVE MILES SOUTHWEST OF CORONA. >> A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT WITH THE JOLT FELT LIKE. AS GOOD A "KCAL NEWS" REPORTER JOY BENEDICT LIVE IN CORONA WITH THE VERY LATEST. REPORTER: THAT'S RIGHT GUYS IT WAS A JOLT IN THE GOOD NEWS IS WE DON'T HAVE REPORTS OF INJURIES OR SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE IN THIS AREA FROM ALL THE LAW ENFORCEMENT BUT NONETHELESS IT WAS FELT IN THIS LIQUOR STORE IN PATRONA. A COUPLE OF BOTTLES WERE KNOCKED OVER AND HAVEN'T BEEN RIGHT TO DO YET BUT THE BIG JOLT TO DO A LITTLE BIT OF BREAKING WHEN IT CAME TO THE SHELVES. YOU COULD DEFINITELY HEAR THAT AND SEE IT AS THE REACTION WAS VERY CLEAR WHEN THAT SHAKER HAPPENED AT 1:49 OR 1:48 THIS AFTERNOON AND AGAIN AT 4.1 MAGNITUDE QUAKE THAT STRUCK SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA FOR THE EPICENTER WAS LOCATED NINE KILOMETERS SOUTHWEST OF CORONA WITH A DEPTH OF TWO KILOMETERS. WHEN IT HAD THAT VERY QUICK JOLT THAT USUALLY MEANS IT'S HAPPENING VERY VERY QUICKLY. AGAIN NO DAMAGE HERE IS A GOOD REMINDER TO ALL TO STOP, DROP AND GET OUT WHEN YOU CAN WHEN IT'S SAFE TO DO SO AND THAT'S Corona Earthquake aftershocks EXACTLY WHAT THEY DID HERE. >> THANK YOU. THERE WERE A DOZEN EARTHQUAKES Corona Earthquake location OVER THE LAST DAY OR TWO IN THE SAME CREW LOCATION NEAR CORONA. >> DR. JONES CALLS THEM MEDIA QUAKES BECAUSE THEY GET A LOT OF ATTENTION BUT CAUSED LITTLE TO NO DAMAGE. SHE SAID IT'S A REMINDER FOR PEOPLE TO STAY QUAKE READY FOR WHEN THE BIG ONE DOES HIT. METEOROLOGIST OLGA OSPINA IS JOINING US NOW WITH MORE ON THIS QUAKE. OLGA WE WERE TALKING ABOUT IT AFTER IT HAPPENED. >> WE WERE HERE IN THE STUDIO. YOU AND I COULD NOT FEEL IT BUT A LOT OF PEOPLE DID. IN THE INLAND EMPIRE AND IN LOS ANGELES AREA. I'M GOING TO SHOW YOU A MAP OF EXACTLY WHERE THE EARTHQUAKE HAPPENED. THIS IS IN THE INLAND EMPIRE BUT YOU CAN SEE IT'S VERY CLOSE TO ORANGE COUNTY. A LOT OF PEOPLE IN THOSE AREAS ALSO SAW IT. PLACES LIKE ANAHEIM AND AN IMMEDIATE AREA WE HAVE PLACES LIKE CHINO HILLS INTO MIRA LOMA. THIS IS EXACTLY WHERE THAT EARTHQUAKE HAPPENED AND ALSO IMPORTANT TO NOTE JUST -- NOT JUST THE MAGNITUDE OF THE EARTHQUAKE BUT ALSO THE DEPTH. TYPICALLY WE GET THE MORE SHALLOW EARTHQUAKES. THIS WAS A SHALLOW ONE BUT IT DOES MEAN WE COULD FEEL IT MORE AND WE ARE ALSO SEEING MORE DAMAGE FROM IT VERSUS WHEN WE GET THOSE DEEPER EARTHQUAKES. BECAUSE THE SEISMIC WAVES HAVE TO TRAVEL FURTHER WHEN WE GET A DEEP EARTHQUAKE THEY LOSE THE ENERGY ON THE WAY TO THE SURFACE RESULTING IN A US FEELING IT LESS. THIS WAS A SHALLOW ONE AND TYPICALLY WE DON'T GET TOO MANY OVER FOR HARRY CALIFORNIA, RIGHT AROUND 25 A YEAR. THAT WAS IN CORONA AND WE'LL TAKE A LOOK AT OUR FOREC
