SOME PARENTS ARE RICH OF THE PUNISHMENT FOR A TEEN ACCUSED OF PLOTTING A SCHOOL SHOOTING IN SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY BUT THE 18-YEAR-OLD ENTERED A PLEA DEAL TODAY AND HE GOT THREE YEARS PROBATION. PARENTS ACCUSING PROSECUTORS OF BEING TOO LENIENT. >> NICOLE COMSTOCK AS THE STORY. REPORTER: THE D.A. SAID HE THINKS THE PLEA DEAL IS A BETTER PATH MOVING FORWARD BECAUSE IT COMES WITH MORE REPERCUSSIONS THAN TAKING THE CASE TO A TRIAL THEY COULD HAVE POTENTIALLY END UP WITH AN ACQUITTAL BUT THE FATHER ONE OF THE GIRLS ON THE HIT LIST DISAGREES. >> UNDERSTAND CRITICISM FROM BOTH SIDES ARE. SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY JASON ANDERSON'S RESPONDED TO CRITICISM ABOUT A PLEA DEAL REACHED WITH SEBASTIAN VILLASENOR BUT THE 18-YEAR-OLD ACCUSED OF PLANNING A MASS SHOOTING AT ONTARIO CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL. HE WAS CHARGED WITH FIVE COUNTS OF ATTEMPTED MURDER BUT WILL BE RELEASED ON THREE YEARS FELONY PROBATION AFTER SERVING JUST FOUR MONTHS IN JAIL. >> ALSO SAID THEY CHANGE THEIR MIND AND THEY GIVE HIM A SWEETER DEAL. ROBERT DEAN SAID HIS DAUGHTER WAS AN INTENDED TARGET ON THE KILL LIST. >> ALL THESE KIDS WILL BE MORE SAFE WITH SEBASTIAN VILLASENOR BEHIND BARS AND GETTING TREATMENT FROM ANY PROFESSIONAL. >> OUR SYSTEM DOESN'T ALWAYS ALLOW TO HAVE BOTH OF THOSE THINGS AND UNFORTUNATELY IT IS WHAT IT IS BUT THAT'S WHY WE TRY TO THREAD THE NEEDLE ON THIS PARTICULAR CASE TO WORK OUT THE TERMS TO REPORT GRANDERSON SAID THE TERMS OF PROBATION FOR VILLASENOR INCLUDE A FOURTH AMEND THAT WAIVER FOR THE SEARCH OF HIS HOME IN ELECTRONIC DEVICES WEEKLY PROBATION REPORTS. REPORTER: IN YOURS ATTORNEY SAID THE ALLEGATIONS WERE MANUFACTURED DURING A SEVEN HOUR LONG POLICE INTERROGATION WHERE HIS CLIENT INSISTED HE WAS NOT PLANNING A SHOOTING. >> HE KEPT SAYING I FIXATED ON SCHOOL SHOOTINGS AND I HAD THOUGHTS. HE KEPT ASKING FOR INFORMATION LIKE ARE MY THOUGHTS CRIMINAL REPORTER: HE SAID POLICE ASKING HIS CLIENT WHO HE WOULD THEORETICALLY TARGET. ANDERSON SAID THIS IS AN UNPRECEDENTED CASE WHERE INVESTIGATORS INTERVENE TO PREVENT THE SCHOOL SHOOTING BUT HE HAD TO WAVE THE SUSPECTS WORDS AND THOUGHTS WITH HIS ACTIONS. THE LOWER CHOIRS A CERTAIN STEP TO PROVE ATTEMPTED MURDER. AS IT RELATES TO THE MODERN ERA SCHOOL SHOOTINGS THE LAW IS LAGGING REPORT COULD BE A SINGER PLEADED NO CONTEST TO INTIMIDATION OF A WITNESS.
