to the point I had to pull my baby out of the garage I see I see who one day you know until Spartans kick off that's only a day from now man I mean it's in the air right now and look Michigan State in Spartan Stadium against Florida Atlantic the owls come to Spartan Stadium less than 24 hours from the time that you watching this right now this is tape but Michigan state will be kicking off and swer how excited are you I mean yester well two days ago you were going crazy I'm feeling I mean I'm getting the butterflies all those things I mean man I mean it's time to hear some pads cracking SC you got to think it's so much excitement and so much questions in that gonna be in that Stadium you know everybody want to see you know what what coach Jonathan is doing what he's bringing to the table 61 new players you know every Spartan in that Stadium got gonna have their eyes open we hoping we wishing for the best but nobody knows you know nobody knows not even the coaching staff know you haven't been with these guys long enough you know you got a new quarterback who's Young Who just found out it's not turning 19 till after the second game yeah he don't have that many games under his belt that's right you know we got some guys came all the way from Oregon the move to Midwest Michigan this is all new to the coaches and everything they don't know how to expect when they see the 70 plus thousand all the green and white they don't the coaches ain't never walked from the Kell they they ain't experienced this yet yeah and it's so much that's going on so at the end of the day and then for me to be there and be in tune like I am I'm excited because I never been this much involved in Michigan State football I'm just always talking trash about my green and white because I'm a Spartan dog but now I'm talking about I'm I'm looking at tape I'm reading articles and you know I can barely read because of the CTE but brother you got me all into it now I'm Gonna Be In The Box then I get to eat for free I get to walk down with the Pres come on straight I can't wait baby you could it look like you e free food driving around the white interior Rolls-Royce I mean that's just you know drive down there they let you right on in with that they say yes sir you know even though you got the Michigan state had the Spartan the block ass on they said come on in swe you can see everything you want to see and we're g to report on that in a moment speaking of what it's going to be like in the stadium tomorrow night strike the stadium is in full effect do not forget to check your ticket stuff to see exactly where you are and what color you need to be wearing for the strike the stadium green and white depending on what section gonna be a electric environments where oh I can't I can't wait man like I just said before these these fans is excited I know I'm excited and I can just imagine imagine that first touchdown you know I hope that we get the ball first and we drive down there and score I mean oh man it just hey but one thing about it me knowing football I'm 5050 you know I mean I know this can go either way you know I'm hoping for more than four and a half games because of my mortgage bet but I'm also wanting a uh uh a six game at least so we can go to bowl game and uh and of course beat those uh those cheaters down the street but you know I'm also a realist too you know knowing that is gonna be tough you know we got we we ain't just got no easy schedule we just can't step on the field and just line up you know I mean we going to have to play you know so at the end of the day I don't know what to expect new coaches 61 new players it's not like we can say hey it's like the coach of Alabama you know he walk in he has some Talent from last year he has some guys that played in some big games last year in in in in a unit this guy here it a like he just walking into 22 starters you know you got 61 new players that's that's hard do you know and so at the end of the day like I say I'm 5050 but I'm hoping for the best you know no doubt about it man I mean you have to be you know after the game we know that there's the the big event the game is a big event that's the main event but after the game on Saturday at two o'clock we're all gonna be at McDonald's s's gonna be there I'm gonna be there Aiden child Jordan Hall Nick Mars Dylan Tatum and so many of their teammates are gonna be in attended sparty's going to be there and Zeke the wonderdog is confirmed Zeke is going to be in the house so hey that that if we're all there because of amaran Smith and his family obviously all the proceeds from some of the proceeds from the sale of the food that we're buying at McDonald's and Cedric's 33 happy meals for the first 33 kids under five we ain't forgetting that are gonna go back to Marian Smith's family it's gonna be a great event for a lot of people there El Lance and police department lot a lot of people are gonna be around just to help support the family and celebrate the big win swe but great I I'm all for the dog but the dog just gonna take away my pictures gonna take away time from me you know the little kid is gonna on to go to the dog first and not me you know you know I was looking forward to taking at least 33 pictures you know that's always my thing sign 33 autograph but with that dog being there he damn you competing with Z you can't compete with Z it's a different category you in sh what what you got to understand and I used to hear the OG say this about you know you don't hear the crowd cheering no more you know people ain't saying they love you no more they you ain't signing all the autograph like you used to every Saturday and I'm like yeah whatever boom boom 25 years later guess what I'm not here in the cheers no more I'm not here and I love you no my kids talking about they better than me Daddy used too slow and all this [ __ ] now and now I got to compete with a damn dog when I wanted all the pictures and everything I mean whatever goes to number 19 I'm old that's why I'm there staying an extra day for you brother but I I all right we G we gonna have some therapy we gonna have therapy there you know during the game the win's gonna help you it's going to bring your serotonin levels way up you know your happy juice you'll be happy and I know you're probably gonna be having a couple of these so you're gonna be hydrated fully and going into the you know to the the fundraiser at McDonald's so over there I think they got high SE they got coke diet coke if that's what you went I know they got this too so you gonna be all right along with the Happy Meal and we all gonna be happy together okay and they gonna Che it's gonna be cheers for everybody so now it's just shifts a little bit they might not be cheering for you scoring touchdowns but they happy you there supporting the boys who are but also remember this five and under it ain't that I'm about to turn 60 five and under that's all I'm buying happy me if you just turned six and your birthday was Friday hey but you six Friday on Saturday you six I'm not buying you a Happy Meal you too old for me said will be cing all miners so they better bring their driver's license and state ID birth certificates required for S to buy a Happy Meal for crying out loud we're gonna buy happy meals for the kids if they need to do want to run around you know the thing about this offense now they G there a lot of movements before the ball they gonna be a lot of Shifting going around you know they have speed on the outside you know I question the quarterback accuracy he want to make he want to make you know moves plays with his feet want to scramble around but like I say we we described on the last show you know it's GNA be hard with the defensive ends and the linebackers how athletic eye linebackers are to do but the one thing he gonna have to do this offense gonna have to do which is my honey badger you know when he's healthy he's the honey badger for me and I got to see him in person when we was that IHOP you know and I didn't know that guy plays it's like that song say hard over six fo you know what I mean but he's not 6'4 and I didn't know but he plays so big straight yeah one thing this quarterback and this offens of coordinator gonna have to do is find out where is number zero at on that defense every time because for some reason somehow someway he's always making plays he's always around the ball with these athletic receivers with this athletic quarterback and I question their o line that's how they gonna have to make plays to have a chance against our Spartan but like I said before how's Spartan gonna lose to an Al but straight tell me about number zero CA boy he's a he's my honey badger he is a honey badger you're speaking about Charles Brantley out of Venice Florida where you are right now down there in Florida not far from Sarasota this is a guy you know we did not get a chance to dive into Charles brandley because he's such a household name right now in Michigan State you know you remember him from two years ago having the pick to seal the deal against Michigan during the K9 Mass performance against Michigan in Spartan Stadium you also know him from laying the wood left and right a guy like you said play 6'4 230 pound you wouldn't believe he's not I mean look He's listed a 6 foot 170 I don't know about 170 I've seen 170 I don't know's 170 but I know them receivers that get hit kind of like we talked about snow darus snow a guy that can hit you when you you're hit you're down same thing with Charles brownley he can cover he can hit he's a great teammate he's a guy who's really focused on the game of football he's putting everything in and he's a junior coming back we just want to have him avoid injuries if he can that's what has kind of sidelined him over the last few years that's why you want him to get a little bigger but the guy you cannot uh question his heart his motivation and his skill set he's got it all all those things that you need to play Spartan dog football so you're right I think cam faner the quarterback from FAU is gonna have his hands full with the secondary for Michigan State you know I I think there's an opportunity for that defensive front that we talked about couple of days ago from Michigan State to to get some plays to make some to put pressure on cam because that offensive line from FAU is not the best they're led by Fredrico minguez who is their best player he's the center 64300 pounds we gotta see what they look like in person because down in FAU sometimes I know your Drone footage came back I don't know if they were I couldn't tell how big they were based on the Drone footage you had and I know you w you didn't get a chance to walk up into the Huddle like you I mean they should have rolling that rolls Roy they should let you drive right onto the field but they didn't do that so I I think that that might be the best their best offensive lineman no doubt Fredrico so you're gonna have some pressure on the edges I mean it's G it should be enough to overwhelm FL Florida Atlantic over time you know they have a running back uh kind of by committtee you got George Johnson the third grad transfer he had 420 yards a year ago uh Zuber MO a guy from Miami Florida did not get a lot of carries he's a young younger red shirt Jr and then another red shirt junr a transfer CJ Campbell well nobody that really stands out there but you talked about it those receivers on the outside that's where Florida Atlantic is dangerous Tom Herman last time he coached the game in Spartan stadiums you can remember this 2014 Ezekiel Elliott comes in the Spartan Stadium with a guy by the name JT Barrett and they lit up Michigan State it was he was the offensive coordinator at that time for Ohio State they lit us up that was one of those games where it was I don't know how how good is Ohio State Michigan State I think was higher ranked at that time than Ohio State and Ohio State went on to win the national title under Tom Herman's offensive coordinating problems he goes on to Texas as the head coach now he's at Florida Atlantic and he's coming back Spartan Stadium so don't let he's trying to downplay things he's talking about running the ball a lot I don't buy that for a minute he ain't trying to run the ball a lot unless he's got Ezekiel Elliott in the background in the back field and I don't think he has that or and he definitely don't have a Cedric Irving s well it it all depends straight do you want Ezekiel Elliott now and a Cedric irvy now you don't stand a 10 I'll take a s Irving right now with Zeke Elli right now I tell I'll tell you that right now I I know that much but he's still he's still getting checks from the NFL yeah yeah yeah that's that's what we call stealing and he gonna be doing a a podcast for uh Ohio State talking about his CT if he don't quit he better leave that alone man as a young man's position how any moving over to the other side of the ball for for Florida Atlantic let's talk about their defense for a minute s like when you look at the defense what did Joan tell you about what what they're going to be bringing to the table see you know that on the last show we talked about our defensive front you know we talk about guys that's 63 297 you know guys that's you know 64 274 pretty long body defensive end long hand big hands you know we talked about line our linebackers who who we got one that look like a credible Hulk you know we got a guy that came from IMG you know we we got we got we got a guy that got history in in his name you know we got guys all over you know we got a hell of a five five linebacker and then on the back end also we got playmaker we got a governor you know we got a boxer you know we got everything you want in the back end the thing about FAU what what my drone told me and I told you I press that button and it gives me everything lack size for a big 10 opponent up front right yeah thing about them just like the receivers on the back end the DBS are new but they athletic I think they got a freshman dude out of Georgia who may play he's he's a freshman he made the Freshman preseason allamerican team yeah you know so he's a guy you know who had a great summer so far so they have speed but they lack experience on the back end and they lack sides in the front end linebackers just average so you you you listening you're saying so what are you saying swerving Irving like I said before what's the hour to a spark ain't a damn thing so to get some clarity on that the backend guy you're referring to CJ herd preseason All-America guy comes in with 60 offers division one school 60 offers was originally committed to Florida State ends up in Florida Atlantic I how does that happen like we don't you know got to be a backstory there but and I'm a part of the I'm not a part of the story because I met the kid at the end because he went to wward high school in Georgia with my son oh okay and they went all the way to the state championship and lost which they was the I called him the Cinderella they shouldn't have made it that far but they did but he was the guy and then Florida State dropped him and I called couple people that I knew at Florida State I'm like why this kid is athletic you got to see him at running back he was one of the best running backs on the team and he he was a starting safety he's a athletic guy he's one of those guys he can be a true definition of the porter meaning he can play there one season and by the end of December because they probably won't go to the Bowl game in January he'll be somewhere else because he has he has the big 10 type of he has the ACC he has the SEC type of talent and he can run he's physical and he can cover that was a steal for those guys so he had to work his ass off in the summer like he did because he was pissed off because he knew he could have should have been at Florida State to the point now people are calling him pre-season all americ for a freshman team did he get dropped late in the signing process yes he was committed as a sophomore stray he didn't take no other visits oh man this happened December late November no no they they dropped him I think they told him around September to start looking for other other places I think that's when he decommitted around that time either right before the season cuz I was making calls for him and they they they got a good coach DB coach down there who was also a safety at Florida State and also with the Rams and Coach der Gibson who called me and say [ __ ] said help me get it okay okay all right they bring some some clarity to that you know they have a guy kazir bugs the corner who who is on the Shrine Bowl watch list I mean this is one of those guys too looks like he comes right out he he him and Jordan Turner might be cousins because they I mean The Incredible Hulk linebacker on our side transfer from Wisconsin team captain linebacker Jordan Turner looks like kazir bugs Brown like he this these guys are etched out of granite but you're talking about a cornerback six foot three and some chains 215 pound might be a little oversized be a corner uh but whatever we'll see you know he's on the watch list a lot of times they look for those traits for that Desmond uh tisdel and Jack jackon Ambush those two names I mean Jackson Ambush what a name you talk about coming out of state of Michigan Jackson Ambush it sound like he's right out of prison he's born to be a linebacker so I mean he wins the all linebacker name award but those are two guys yearo 71 for the for the for uh T tisdel So Str you saying that kid is is is from Michigan no he's not from Michigan if he was he's from Marland oh if he was if he was Jackson is where the prison at so if you hear something if if you're if you're next of police you hear Jackson Ambush come over the radio time to start running you you won't do problems no ambushes in Jackson and his name is Jackson Ambush hey we leave him alone but you know 511 225 pounds I mean with our offensive line I like our chances against him you brought up the the the smaller defensive front you know that's part of the front seven right there Chris Jones Jaden wheeler Jacob Maryfield and Marlon Bradley these are four front guys you know one from pompo Beach 64255 playing on the end Jaden wheeler 63 290 probably a little heavy versus what he really is that out of Nashville that's a senior playing as a defensive tackle Jacob marfield 6329 another tackle and Marlon brandley Bradley 64 240 on the other end uh out of Delona Florida so so I I would imagine the Michigan State offensiv up front isn't going to be tested as much it's going to be about the speed of the game the cohesiveness and not underestimating I don't see Michigan State offensively coming into this game and looking past FAU they're G to take this team very seriously this the first time they've had a game not only together together collectively but the entire staff of you as you just said said so I I I think the they GNA come out guns blaz and it's gonna be a hell of an atmosphere as we talked about but look tell me what you think the outcome is going to be you know the time has come said you know we don't want to belabor this too much gonna do nothing but score touchdowns I mean he scored eight last year tied for the most in F FBS okay for a tight end I think he goes 50% more than that he's probably gonna get 12 touchdowns are better this year Governor we've had him on the show and that's all he talked about Malik Spencer that's all he's talked about man that tight end they just they wear the tight end out okay and they gonna have re receiver Speedy receivers to give that secondary that you just talked about that's young inexperienced not having played a lot together this is not Tom Herman's Forte the defensive side of the ball you got a two offensive coaches going against each other so I'm taking our defensive coordinator Joe Rossy over their defensive coordinator from FAU and I think that we have the best play callers in the two Brian lingren who's the offensive uh offensive coordinator Michigan State new from Oregon State and obviously Jonathan Smith who's been calling play he been writing drawing plays in his crib I heard about that Jonathan back in Pasadena they said you was drawing plays before you could walk that being said Michigan State 42 the AL 14 so I'm with you Aiden we betting over if that's if you're into that kind of thing uh and I think that uh Michigan State rolls in a big opening day turning heads and setting the tone for the Jonathan Smith era in Michigan State University swerve I don't know what else to say about it man I mean we just going to keep belaboring the point at this point all we got to do is get the helmet on and get ready to run out the tunnel I know you ready to
