three this week is featuring Jenna Willis who is a celebrity fitness trainer and also friend to many of the VPR cast including Sheena and of course laala this episode has a lot of great exercise and fitness tips along with some other amazing advice that I had no idea about so let's get right into it make sure to like this video subscribe if you are not yet subscribed here to my channel and make support system from my friends and my family and of of course all of you together we'll be going deep on what it means to be a mom I just have like an overwhelming amount of gratitude hence why I start sobbing cuz I don't quite know how to process it prioritizing Wellness be present be in the moment you're not going to be able to have a second baby again selfcare gwenneth paltro taught us about this this is the dry brush Fitness there's no engaging the core right now babe and much more we will find you somebody you can be my wing woman this is a side of my life that I've never really been able to share before on camera until right now oh my God your lips are like four times the sides of mine like I'm so jealous well they're not real I can't wait to share this adventure with you and best believe mama's still got it it is so important for me to stay active during and after my pregnancy and to help me put in the work my body needs and to keep me focusing on Wellness from the here you look amazing so you do you work out once in a while did you hit my accessory bar when you came in I did can you see these I'm obsessed he aren't these amazing I've literally never had earrings like this in my life and I'm like so cute they're so cute and I I loaded up on rings not okay so you may not know this but I'm basically the jewelry queen of Amazon like I just know how to cuz like you're my friend so that's always fun that's yes but also I get a lot of people sending me messages when you and I post our workouts what are things that I can do during pregnancy and beyond that are going to get my mind right that I can do from home you know it is hard for a lot of us to get to the gym I get it the hardest part for me about working out is just like getting there the beauty in it is that you don't have to because yeah I mean work out right from home and and you can make all the change with without even having to get to the gym these are exercises that are like Mommy friendly uh during pregnancy postpartum obviously we're going a little bit light because um having a baby so Jenna is going to take us through a friendly light workout let's get it popping let's do it yeah on above the knees okay perfect so yeah I mean you love to work your booty yeah so we're definitely going to get some booty in today right so let's go ahead and grab the lighter weights right here five Pounders so we're basically going to combine the deadlifts that we do okay with a squat and a curl perfect so we're going to drop the weights down Ray imagine a toilet's behind you you saying that drive the booty back don't miss the toilet we're going to stand it up then we're going to step it out squat curl and step it back okay watch me so boom Drop It Like It's Hot okay hold on yep hips back good nice deadlift stand it on up mhm good step it towards me y hit that squat squat good curl okay good and then stand and then you're going to go right back into the deadlift how many good so you would do that that's the number one question I go how many how many do I have to do today like well that's enough for me for the day so since it's lightweight we'll go about 12 to 15 on each side okay okay we alter y so drop it down good step it out again into that squat good curl yeah there it is oh yeah and back together okay why do you think it is so important for women to stay active during pregnancy it's endless I mean first of all bounce back body okay is the first um second one is having the strength and endurance to actually push through while in delivery right um it helps with not only stress but also with symptoms of anxiety and depression and then even more intense it reduces the risk of preclampsia which does yes wow yes and also just stational diabetes oh yeah babe and also like the common aches and pains like how you get the lower back pain right look at all this weight that you're carrying it alleviates the common aches and pains all through your body I love all of these things and then last but not least of course you know it's it's about gaining a healthy amount of weight versus excessive okay so for those you want us to hit 10 to 15 yep what's the next exercise y so then we can take this band off Drop it like it's hot all the way off you good you feel stable I feel stable we're going to raise it up into those reverse lunges right remember these down curtsy good and then bring it right back up oh just bring it right back up I know right you love this one how on each side good again everything we'll focus on about 12 to 15 reps same thing right we're getting those booty dimples that you love so much that shoulder work keeping that core nice and strong and lifting it right up to the sky okay for me and I know I'm not the only one it's hard for me to prioritize myself and just like my my body and my health and wellness when taking care of a toddler and now new baby's going to come yeah what would you say are like the tips and tricks totally that you can knock out when it's like okay I have five minutes for myself where I'm not dealing with anything literally exactly what we're doing right now right so even just these moves the deadlifts into the squats right in the reverse do every single exercise for 30 seconds on 30 seconds rest or 40 seconds on 20 seconds rest you hit 5 minutes and you walk away because you can do 10-minute increments listen to your body right now especially with where you're at like it's so important no I I know and I do listen I'm that's why I cancel so you don't talk about that ever no I always say that listen to your body it's so true whenever I ask my OB I'm like can I do this he's like you can do that if it feels right the moment it doesn't feel right stop doing it so we're going to do a hinge row so you're going to go right here right 45° chest is off the ground that arm is going to be out to stabilize and all you're going to do is row it up like this like this yep good nice and safe strong stance beautiful yep and notice how you're keeping your elbow lock you bring it up to here yep yep nice strong stance you're also getting that leg work here you guys these are like full body workouts well that's yeah that's what we do babe for a mama who's like I don't work out uhuh I have decided that I want to pick it up where's the best place to start for like her routine because again it's intimidating I think the hard part is getting into that routine starting for the first time what would you say is like the one thing that's the go-to a goal when you're pregnant isn't going to be to go down in a pant size no of course not I mean or it's not really the time to say hey I'm going to go try and run a marathon no right but it is a great time to create healthy habits and treat your buddy your buddy well your buddy yes but your body your buddy your little buddy here yeah your buddy and your body with the love and respect so this way postpartum I mean I I mean I have so many women who hit me up two years postpartum and they're like I just haven't been able to get into it I totally relate to that by the way but the 5 minutes during will change everything for when and postpartum because you're going to be in that routine you know how it feels if I or one of my friends at home they have 10 minutes yeah what's an exercise they could do that's like full body that we haven't done yet one that is great that we haven't done yet you're going to take that weight right up overhead nice and controlled right lock those elbows in and you're going to unload it all the way down and drive up to your tippy toes and extend through keeping those arms locked and loaded right in by your side those elbows don't let those elbows flil out okay yeah I'm going to attempt all right good so I'm here y keep that core engaged and I'm going to drop down I'm just kidding it's the baby there's no engaging the right now bab good keep those elbows in By Your Side Y when you stand up and then all the way up yep good drop it down keep those elbows in yes how does that feel jaw I know I need a nap so I have a fishbowl okay I feel like it's a metaphor okay for me living in a fishbowl oh no in it mhm I've got these cute little dolphins and they have something so cute it's cute right yeah this is so cute they have something written on them just pick one and ask me the question I'm drawn to this one okay you drawn poking out of me what's a name you considered but you didn't choose I wanted to pay homage to my home state and name my next born Utah okay it did not hit well with most people that I was like what do you think they're like I think it's got to go Utah was one I loved snow but then I was like I don't want the name ocean to get like corny and cheesy yeah I support that no I support that so those were two names that I actually like really loved that like maybe not the ones yeah when it comes to Motherhood or pregnancy there is no shortage of people giving you advice that you didn't ask for old wives tales superstitions everyone seems to come to you to tell you things that like you didn't really need to hear and as someone who is not a mom yet thank you I am curious to know some of your thoughts on these superstitions and things you shouldn't shouldn't be doing okay okay I'm ready hit me all right you can't change kitty litter while pregnant wait what okay this one I co this is a real thing and this one I wholeheartedly coign on because there could be what they say is like parasites and you're not supposed to change Kitty oh okay I thought it was like a senses thing of like it's too pungent Don't Go Near it I don't have a cat but I will say I would pretend to always be pregnant just so I would never have to change the like I'm pregnant again change it it's up to you um the next one you're eating for two I can't wait to hear this a trainer thought okay so you aren't really eating for two a healthy way is you're eating for one and a half so it is actually very healthy to up your caloric intake while you're pregnant okay but people take eating for two and decide that they should be eating fast food three times a day which isn't the answer like you still want to feel your body in really healthy ways and Whole Foods but you do want to up your caloric intake while you're pregnant because think about it this this little one needs some love too right so as someone who likes junk food I like to say I have a well balanced diet what would you say is something that like I could eat that's healthy that would up my caloric intake at the same time a well balanced meal is let's say a protein base right so let's say chicken okay with a complex carb so maybe you want some yam some potatoes or rice any sort of grain and then finishing it off with your favorite veggie okay yeah and it would be eating a little bit more than you would if you weren't pregnant so for my baby shower I did not ask for any gifts the only thing that I want is to be surrounded by the people who I love and adore which is you I know may me smile like blushing a little bit yeah and if you could I would love for you to send me in with some like words of encouragement manifestations that I can take with me from now until I'm in labor course strength okay resilience yep um I think you've been tested a lot and I think you're really strong thanks yeah um and I'm not talking about physical strength which you're probably you know internal strength and yeah resilience I did this yesterday too I'm sorry I know babe and and light I love all of those words and they're so you they're you yeah and I just want you to remember that through all of this and while you're going you know and fighting the resilience yeah keep that light okay because you are a light what about that made you emotional it's really wild to me and you have been with me for a really long time and seen all of the ups and downs and so I can't help but when I hear words like that reflect on how far emotionally I've come and I never thought that my life would be like this but I just have like an overwhelming amount of gratitude hence why I start sobbing because I don't quite know how to process it um so yeah those words I feel like I'm in therapy I chose that felt really good good yeah you purged I did I worked out I purged a great day you actually purged because of the workout I don't want to take all the credit here but movement allows things to flow yeah no that was wow yes what a great moment I love you can I you are you kidding I love you so much I'm so proud of you thank you did you bring me gifts over there I did you did I did this I think you're really going to like okay what is it it's lavender oil rollon to keep you calm this is the best is so good all natural oil um so like literally when you're in the room you can rub it on Just Breathe in I'm definitely packing this in my hospital bag yes cuz this will make me feel like cozy and at home it's exactly why you know yeah I know we already have ocean obviously you've been through it but this book is supposed to be absolutely incredible birthing from within so really really good read yes all about pregnancy and um I just thought it would be a good one for you to have I love that you did this because even though I've like been through child birth before yeah every single birthing experience can be different from what I've heard I'll let you know after this one if she comes in seven pushes like wow we're having 10 of them but this is great and you know that I love to read I know that's why I picked it too nights when you're cozy up with oce I didn't want gifts but I'm glad you brought them thank you babe I love you I love you too I'm beyond thankful that you came and showed us all how to do like very quick exercises which I thoroughly enjoy especially during pregnancy um I'm needing like a little something something this is what I usually need after a workout a craving yes and I have asked my guests to bring like weird or wacky things that they enjoy what did you bring for me okay close your eyes okay you you think it's going to be some sort of like wheat grass shot don't you if I'm lucky see the things that J very excited for this one I think it's something you're not going to expect at all but it's what my mom craved during her pregnancy so I thought it'd be really cute for you can I open yeah strawberry doctory oh this is Bomb I know I was not expecting this at all don't worry it's virgin mine isn't I love it taste it oh my gosh do you love it yeah it's like a slushy yeah right it's so good that is really good Jenna yes oh my gosh yeah can I tell you something I was dreading your snack knew you were bringing me like [ __ ] weat weird cookies gluten-free well definitely gluten free but I was like all right we worked you out we got your full body going no this is fabulous yourself you like it yes I love it and I want to thank do you guys think I will say I do not like the name Utah though I get wanting to pay homage to her home state I will also say that I did guess the name snow as one of the baby's possible names but she clarified that it's not going to be snow so that's off my list another guess that I did have was possibly sky or Skyler but you already know what I'm going to ask what are your guesses on the baby names let me know down below it begins with an S it kind of still has the same theme but not the same as Ocean's theme so those are your Clues I think that these are wonderful exercise especially for pregnant mam or moms or just everyday girlies who feel like we don't have enough time and Jenna gave some great advice to just take 5 minutes to do some of these exercises throughout the day and just do it when you can and I was actually thinking of like the perfect time that I can do some of these exercises myself and a good moment is like when I'm waiting for the food to cook and I'm I usually wash dishes but like if I'm not washing dishes this would be perfect I do want to play a quick little Instagram video that Jenna posted on her page with Lala which are a couple other little exercise tips as well I'm he I'm J will we are working out with baby bus today because there are going to be times where baby nappy and you only see botles El one is going to be a hinge curl to a k curl those bobbles up and then drive them back really squeezing through the back of yard good oh I know right next exercise Sumo St the Cur is so excited [Music] sister sound is so true I like the yeah just sitting at a m with the kiddos they're like taking a nap you can use these as like jazze tools feel like working out with a chore life I love it once both I will say I learned a lot of great little tips and tricks from this episode especially like how pregnant women are not supposed to clean the Cat boxes that was something that I was so unaware of and someone who has a cat and is looking to get pregnant that's going to be a little difficult since I'm the main person that does that I have spoiled this cat endlessly and thank God for my cat genie because I literally scoop it the second she goes and she spoiled but like I can see like maybe getting like a robotic cat litter box but the problem with my cat is she's a little princess she likes to stand on the edge and if we get one of those like robotic cat litter boxes they usually have covers and things like that and it would not work for her so I I'd have to do a lot of convincing to get my boyfriend to do that for me but I'm pretty sure that would not be an issue especially if I was carrying his child so that was just one interesting tip that I learned I would like to know if you guys have any tips about being pregnant that not a lot of people know that are very useful information for other women and even for myself let me know down below now something else that I use all the time literally in the classrooms with
