The Detroit Lions TRUE WR3! Kalif Raymond The UNKNOWN WEAPON For The Lions Offense!

khif Raymond is one of the most underrated players on the Detroit Lions offense and potentially one of the most underrated offensive weapons in the entirety of the NFL a player that many division Rivals say is the worst wide receiver three or wide receiver 4 in the division a player that nobody talks about outside of Detroit Lions fans and a player that even Detroit Lions fans seem to forget about at times cleff Raymond is one of the most quietly productive wide receivers in the entirety of the NFL and if you were to guess over the last three seasons his contributions to the Detroit Lines as far as receptions yardage and touchdowns you'd probably be under selling khif Raymond as well so before we get into the video I want you guys to go down in the comments below type about what you think khif Raymond has contributed to the Lions over the last three seasons how many catches targets and receiving yards you think khif Raymond has without looking it up because I bet the numbers are higher than you think all right you guys ready perfect let's get right on into taking a look at khif Raymond the most underrated player on the Detroit Lions now CLE Raymond stands at 5 fo8 180 pounds but despite his small size and despite his stature CLE Raymond has made quite a name for himself as a kick returner a punt returner and with the Detroit Lions as a slot receiving option with his 43 speed and his ability to separate as a prospect out of Holy Cross khif Raymond was not a very highly regarded proos Prospect he wasn't a player that many people looked at wasn't a player on many people's draft boards and unfortunately for Raymond coming out of Holy Cross the 5 fo8 wide receiver despite his electric speed went undrafted in the 2016 NFL draft where he then signed as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Denver Broncos in 2016 now CLE Raymond did not record a single reception with the Denver Broncos as a rookie but did contribute slightly as a kick returner and a punt returner he was cut The Following season and in 200 17 signed with both the New York Jets as well as the New York Giants where between the two teams he recorded Just One Singular reception for 12 yards in his career he was then cut by the Jets after the 2017 season did not play for a team in the 2018 season but in 2019 was lucky enough to go to a try out with the Tennessee Titans and find a roster spot for himself as a primary kick in pun returner but a little bit of wide receiving work as well so in 200 TW in 2019 and 2020 that is where khif Raymond played his football but again in his first three seasons cleff Raymond had just one reception for 12 yards it did go for a first down but it's not a lot of production for a player to make the roster once getting to Tennessee khif Raymond took a large step forward in his career playing 28 games for them over those two seasons where he recorded 18 receptions 357 yards and a touchdown but his massive contributions came in the the return game where over his two seasons with Tennessee he recorded well over a thousand return yards from both the punt return and the kick return position while being one of the League's more electric Punt and kick returners on top of being a reliable third to Fourth option at wide receiver that the Tennessee Titans you sparingly but especially in the playoffs when injuries started to pile up cleff Raymond had a big touchdown versus Baltimore in I believe the AFC Wildcard round to Dethrone the at the time number one seated Baltimore Ravens now after his two seasons in Tennessee khif Raymond became a free agent the Tennessee Titans decided that hey we can probably replace what Khalif does for us despite being a good option he's going to go somewhere else and Brad Holmes decided to give Khalif Raymond a shot to not only play wide receiver to not only kick return and put return but to be a primary target on an NFL offense so in 2021 khif Raymond signed with the Detroit Lions and the impact was immediate despite being thrown into a much larger role that I think originally thought of by the coaching staff khif Raymond put up career highs in pumber turn yards with 236 receptions at 48 yards at 576 and touchdowns with with four on the season this is a player that prior to coming to Detroit had just 13 receptions for less than 400 yards and in his first year as a lion not only put up historic numbers for himself as a part Turner but put up big numbers as a wide receiver with great reception numbers receiving yards and a career high in touchdowns it was his breakout season and a lot of people were very impressed with what khif frond was able to show especially considering that during a lot of these matchups he was going against cornerback ones like jier Alexander like Jaylen Johnson some of the other great cornerbacks that the Detroit Lions played that season but going into 2022 after the emergence of Aman R st Brown after the signing of DJ CH the Detroit Lions were expected to use khif Raymond less more as a special teams guy and again khif taking a back seat as a wide receiver but instead khif Raymond got better in 2022 khif Raymond again put up career highs in pun return yards yardage as well as having his sole career pun return touchdown coming week 15 versus the New York Jets and what would eventually make the difference in the game to put the Lions back as a 500 football team now in 2022 khif Raymond put up 264 P return yards 66 receiving yards as well as 47 receptions again being just one shy of his career high while being named a second Team all pro punt returner for his electric returns as well as partially his electric play on offense he was a big play threat he was a reliable Target for Jared gof and with the inconsistency of Health that DJ CH showed with him obviously playing side by side with Aman rosin Brown he was able to get a lot more looks as a wide receiver two as opposed to a wide receiver one and he showed out he had a great season I believe only had one touchdown on the year which is a little bit disappointing but his yardage went up he still had the same amount of catches his return stats were better he was a great player in 2022 and going into 2023 despite being utilized a little bit less with guys like of course amanra having his All Pro season Jameson Williams having a little bit of a Good Year Josh Reynolds being a really strong contributor as well Clee Raymond still had a very solid season where he put up over 35 receptions 4 89 yards One Singular receiving touchdown but again 14 yards per reception and another career high for the third year in a row of 331 punt return yards for the Lions as their primary punt returner so over the last three seasons khif Raymond has been the Detroit Lions third leading wide receiver when it comes to receptions as well as catches and targets and receiving yards CLE Raymond through his three seasons in Detroit have put up 179 targets 130 receptions for 1,681 yards and five touchdowns on his career now he's also put up over 800 punt return yards in those three seasons and one punt return touchdown but despite that despite a three season stretch of 180 targets 130 receptions over, 1600 yards and five touchdowns most people look at khif Raymond as nothing more than a pun returner most people look at khif Raymond as not a very reliable or very valid wide receiver at either the wide receiver three or the wide receiver four position and they're putting young players over him there people are saying that oh the Packers wide receiver 4 is better oh the Bears wide receiver four is better oh you know veis Jones has better numbers even though he doesn't you know they're saying veis Jones is better they're saying that I don't know the exact Packers dep chart at the point but they're saying that a lot of these teams have better they're saying Addison is a better they're saying that Brandon Powell on the Vikings is a better wide receiving option than khif Raymond those things just simply aren't true cleff Raymond is a phenomenal player for the Detroit LS he's been great in everything that they could have ever asked for out of the khif Raymond signing and most people don't even know khif Raymond's name let alone how impactful he's been for the Detroit Lions so going forward into 2024 the death chart probably look something like this and I would imagine as far as a Target share goes this is probably what we're looking at for 2024 Alan R st Brown will of course have a majority of the targets he will probably see 150 170 Targets on the season he will get the ball a lot and I think Jameson Williams will take a strong step up as well I think you could expect probably 50 60 targets for Jameson Williams but when it comes to that third wide receiver at least by volume I think you're probably going to see khif Raymond in that role roughly around that 30 to 40 catch Mark probably around that 40 to 50 Target Mark and I think you're probably going to see khif Raymond have more targets than Donovan peoples Jones of course have more targets than Antoine green and although Aman Rin Brown and kif Raymond probably are going to play the same position right Aman R Brown is going to be the primary slot receiver but on the 50% of plays that he's not in the slot you're probably going to see khif Raymond work his way in over Donovan peoples Jones meaning he's going to get more targets and just having more chemistry with Jared go having more of a rhythm having a lot more time to develop that chemistry and that trust cleff Raymond will probably put up very similar numbers again and I wouldn't be surprised if after the 2024 season his Detroit career sees well over 170 receptions and well over 2,000 receiving yards because he's just that quiet good wide receiver that contributes in every single way possible for this football team and a player that just never stops working and contributing for the team so with all of that being said I just wanted to put a little bit of respect on khif Raymond's name a fan favorite player from a couple of years ago that has kind of worked his way into the background of most minds of the NFL fans and most most minds of Detroit Lions fans in that fact but Clee Raymond has been one of the best wide receivers on the Lions roster over the last couple of years as I said the third leading wide receiver over the last three seasons behind Aman R st Bron and I believe Josh Reynolds as well but other than those two khif Raymond has better numbers than anybody who has come through the roster in the last three seasons he's a player that Jared gof trusts he's a player that the Detroit Lions trust he's a player that's getting a lot of prayers from Dan Campbell throughout camp and OTAs he's a player that will continue to put up very solid numbers as a wide receiver 34 and continue to improve this roster but all of that being said that's all I got for you guys right now let me know
