Sheryl Swoopes Removed from Fever Broadcast

welcome everybody I'm am p and sad news has come across the desk or I mean I don't know if it's I it's not sad to me it's just like you know the consequences of your own actions coming to roost but cherl swoops has done it again she the the consequences are are coming around now and you know let's just like let's just talk through this Saga a little bit so just to if you haven't followed along Cheryl swoops NBA legend three-time Olympic gold medal is four-time WNBA Champion but being a legend in the game of basketball does not make you a rational human being does not it it does not you know magically make you a saint or whatever um it can get you some Grace but at this point Cheryl SWS is just run any Goodwill completely you know out of existence at this point and it all started around the NCA Championship you know there was there was DT hazing rookies you know but swoops was also went on a podcast um and talked about kayin CL and really lied about Caitlyn Clark where she said Clark was in her fifth year was much older than other players took 40 shots a game all verifiably untr statements that are completely kind of like delusional I mean there are there are delusional statements if you did any paying attention looked at any of the stats took like a couple seconds you would know that these are verifiably false statements post that you know swoop said she called uh Kaitlin Clark there was like a a back and forth as she describes it and she specifically apologized about about saying she was in her fifth year ignoring all the stuff about the fact that she took 40 shots a game which she didn't and that she was older than she was which might might have been wrapped if I'm being very generous was wrapped into the fifth year thing but she was acting like she was way older than she was meanwhile like you know comparatively sups when she came in the WNBA because she was older at the time that the NBA started she was 26 um Clark now in at 22 and the stats couldn't be any I mean it's obvious who's who's thriving and maybe there's some jealousy there may maybe there's some jealousy there sure but still doesn't mean you need to lie about a player so fast forward she's on another podcast and gets into more controversy because she deflects from Angel Ree and says that Caitlin Clark's a bulli because she pushes off regardless of the fact that players are tackling her and she's you know and she's getting like checked every time she comes up the court like you know sure she's a bully for you know playing the game of basketball I don't know she talks a lot of crap though she does talk a lot of crap but still that doesn't mean that that you're necessarily a bully anyway so she gets heat for that and so then I think a flip switches in her head she's like you know what I'm going to do I'm going to go as Petty and passive aggressive as possible and what I'm going to do is I'm just not going to mention Caitlyn Clark even though obviously I should even though I'm uh I'm employed by the WNBA and I should be talking about her um as being the one of the most popular players in sports I'm just not going to mention so she's on her queens of the podcast you know podcast which is a WNBA podcast funded by them and she talks about everyone but Caitlyn Clark it's like Lexi Hall Aaliyah Boston Kelsey Mitchell you know everybody Under the Sun completely acts like Caitlin Clark doesn't exist and I get like it's cool to give props to the other players but like it's like you know it's like sitting outside and being like the sun doesn't exist you know like it's just a weird thing to do you know when you're talking about the sky you know like well not that Sky I guess bad bad analogy um but then um again on another W like on an actual broadcast and she's with her co-host they're talking about clay Clark winning the player of the week and so like she he's talking about the player of the week and swoops is just dead silent the entire time and he kind of stops since one those I've been there as a broadcaster before with like a co-c and um when they kind of like don't pick up there's like a little awkward pause but you kind of like then pick up and start a new thread you get rolling and the broadcaster mentions that oh the fever are going to be coming to Dallas in the near future get excited blah blah blah which brings us to today where according to the Dallas Wings website swoops has been removed from commentating and instead will it will be Ron Thulin and Nancy liberman so swoops basically because she won't talk about Clark on broadcast on a WMA podcast is like just being the most passive aggressive Petty person on the planet about Kayla Clark she's not there anymore and then some people reach out to her on X and and obviously there's lots of comments fling her way and there's one like can't wait for you announcing today silence or hatred is what we're betting on you're you're covered by ESPN so anything can happen and her response is not today Satan with praying hands as if as if you know her view like I think right now she actually believes that the people out there that are watching her do this and be Petty are evil and like this is evil like like all the bad things that are happening to her are from some some evil in the world or forc when really it's just it's the consequences of your own actions and it's just it's just wild to watch this crash out from someone that could have you know a legendary Legacy but instead it's like they're just destroying it all in this weird Petty revenge against who is the future star of the WNBA is one of the most popular athletes in the world and is going to incredibly limit your ability you're like you're a bad business decision right now and that's what you have chosen to do Cheryl swoop so hey we'll see if she ever changes her tune comes around MIAA kayin Clark has never said anything but nice things about Cheryl swoops that I've seen publicly so it's a really weird it's a really weird situation from from a legendary player but hey you know I look forward to the fever versus The Wing game today um hopefully we can keep or in check and she doesn't go insane like make every shot while spinning 360 throwing over the back of her head backwards because it seems like you know arque sometimes just is arque and and goes off so well I look forward to that game and look forward to another episode of the gbd after this um I'm excited to see what happens e [Music]
