The San Francisco 49ers Broke The #1 Rule

ladies and gentlemen Monday Night Football it taught us a lot go Mason bobbling it but a touchdown what an impressive night tonight for Jordan Mason the San Francisco 49ers might just have the best onew backfield punch in all of football they're going to get a free play Rogers is the master at it and a touchdown by Lazard Aaron roders despite what may be the final numbers would tell you he didn't look bad by any means for Rogers it's a little flip a catch a fumble by Hall and a recovery by the 49ers more so it feels like he was both out coached and outplayed by what is probably the best two-way team in the National Football League and that specifically has got to be what stood out more than anything else regarding this game because very early in this matchup it was a different story than what the end of the fourth quarter had told you the New York Jets defense had been living up to all of their Hype quinnon Williams had been wrecking havoc on the front line in the entire first quarter his brother Quincy and even s Gardner were locking down in coverage blowing up plays in the back field here is a toss to Debo going backward long way to go breaking tackles but he lost yards I mean San Francisco really couldn't get anything going going in the first quarter and the numbers will very clearly tell you that meanwhile on the other side of the ball Aaron Rogers and Company put a drive together that definitely turns some heads passes caught Bo Garrett Wilson you talk about the production that he's hand off to Hall touchdown Jets but that is where everything changed because it doesn't matter where you look for the remainder of this game whether it be the Run presence the Air Attack hell even the defense pressure off the edge and the pass is broken up and now picked off after the tip by Lenor saying the 49ers dominated the final three quarters of this game that would truly be a criminal understatement but even aside from every aspect of the game that you see on the screen right now earlier against New England against Denver admin this one is just ridiculous now absolutely abusing the time of possession and running the football down the New York Jets throats in this game trust me it didn't happen by accident so did Kyle Shanahan fully expect Jordan Mason of all people to have a career night and look like one of the best running backs in all of football Mason left side cuts up field first and go no I'm going to go on on a limb and say probably not but we have seen what happened in this game so many times in the past when Shanahan Brock pie and this entire offense find a weakness in opposing defenses they tend to exploit the hell out of it just go ahead and listen into this halftime interview real quickly from Kyle Shanahan it was a hell of a job not giving the ball back to him I think we got it with 5 minutes we wanted to make sure we didn't get Aaron the ball back but to get not give it back to him a successful Drive 6 minutes 5 minutes and 7 Minutes three consecutive and successful scoring drives from the 49ers that pretty much killed a third of the clock in this entire game I mean hell it's even crazier when you realize that from the 13 minute Mark of the second quarter to the 7 Minute Mark of the third Aaron roders touched the ball three total times and those three times were a three and out forced by San Francisco's defense due in large part to contributions from guys like Nick Bosa and Leonard Floyd St down and four Rogers in trouble flag down and so is Rogers at the 30 so we know that this side of the ball is seemingly picking up right where they left off for the 49ers last season but I mean how exactly did they look this Unstoppable without Christian mcaffrey on the field for them to keep it as simple simp le as possible Kyle Shanahan and the San Francisco 49ers did what they do best which is in this game scenario at least running the football in between the tackles now most of you probably noticed they were beating the Jets in this manner for the majority of this game but even aside from just the rushing totals of Jordan Mason some of these other numbers when you take a look at them they don't even seem possible one example would be that Jordan Mason actually had five rushes of over 10 yards in this game even when facing a stacked box on exactly half of his 28 rushing attempts Mason big run and then lowers the boom on Tony Adams and I mean the extremely high level success that we saw in this regard while also continually not allowing Aaron Rogers to get his hands on the football it can be attributed to many different factors one would be them finally going out and paying their all Pro tackle in Trent Williams and of course watching him absolutely bully defensive front lines like he did in this game even un limited practice another key example how about the high level of motion that this team continues to incorporate into their offense 90% of the 49ers offensive play calls in week one against New York featured pre-nap motion of some sort at least and whether you saw that priest snap motion say contributing to the success of Jordan Mason's chunk plays maybe even what it was doing for the Run presence of Deo Samuel Deo Jet Sweep he is in for the [Music] touchdown but then if you segue that conversation into what it also does for San Francisco's pass game we could have a completely different conversation about that and that's not just in terms of what it does for finding and creating gaps in coverage but also it's because of how efficient Brock pery is at recognizing those gaps jump into this two-play set in the two-minute warning for an example third and three scenario on the first play it's noticeable man coverage with a one high safety look Debo is sent in motion to create a stack with George KD Brock py then knows with them trailing each other in their new route combination depending specifically on where Debo's man assignment is going to bite immediately when he sees it it's going to be an easy completion to Debo in the middle of the field be because of that jump into the very next play and it's a similar situation Kyle yusek goes in motion to start causing a defensive adjustment that you see from New York following that George KD then goes opposite field motion Brock pie then recognizes the one high safety is tailing him across the field good protection Jennings first down inside the 15 and and he already knows that ball is going to be there 10 times out of 10 if Jawan Jennings just simply beats that inside corner leverage now guys this one game is clearly not going to tell the story of the entire year for these teams in fact there are some questions that need to be answered like say how will this offense look when Brandon auk is finally up to speed and even when CMC returns will San Francisco defense be a top unit in football once again and even in terms of the New York Jets what's next for them well guys I
