REACTING to Aaron Rodgers & Jets losing MNF game to 49ers 👀 Troy Aikman NOT IMPRESSED! | SC with SVP

the faithful who are enjoying this night reigning NFC champions welcome Aaron roders and the Jets to town so much curiosity about how might Aaron Rogers look look pretty good they leaned into that defense all year long last year as good a defense as there is in the NFL but on this night even without Christian mcaffrey the ners have enough offense to put on a show it's three to nothing San Francisco is leading and there's a third and eight back shoulder throw to Garrett Wilson how about number eight to number five we're going to see and hear that a lot this year a hand off to Bree Hall he Bulls his way into the end zone that's a 12pl 70 yard 7-minute drive and jets fans are feeling really good but ners fans even with Christian mcaffrey out had to be thrilled to see Jordan Mason an undrafted free agent moving it down there close actually had a touchdown that was called back by a hold and so give it to Debo he's into the end zone they've got the lead and they would not look back leading 16 to7 in the third play action Pie has time Kyle yusek slips out of the back field a big 34 yd gain and then give it to Mason you heard the chatter during training camp that the backup might be Mason with Mitchell injured and unavailable but no one knew that he would be Preston to starting duty tonight he was and he answered the Bell here Rogers looking for Wilson it's deflected Demetrius Flanigan fouls gets the pick so the ners defense gives it back to the offense and from there it is all San Francisco as they win it by score of 32-9 and again so many different story lines to to explore here most notably Mason and his remarkable night I heard Joe giving the stat about the the yards that he had we welcome Joe and Troy in and listen the Rogers piece I'll get to in a minute because that is a significant storyline but around 4:15 local time fellas we find out through the inactives that Christian mcaffry is not going to play Mason's great and I think the larger picture guys isn't it is that this ners offense is so multiple and Shannon had such a great play call it just didn't matter I think that's pretty surprising Joe isn't it no yeah and I mean it's surprising on one hand on the other it is Kyle Shanahan uh they do have Debo uh who they can give it to and then this this young man Jordan Mason who just went off and and ran hard and the offensive line did their job um when mcaffrey is healthy and now you have this from Mason um it's it's impressive so uh you don't have mcaffrey and it didn't hurt him in week one one and they get to not push mcaffrey in week one that's that's like winning a double header if you're the 49ers if if you can keep him healthy and and you know he didn't exacerbate that injury here tonight sure Troy and I think I'm sure you l through this right somebody steps forward that's the old analy in this sport or any sport next man up but as good as mcaffrey is no one's saying the guy's going to get Wall-E pipped and lose his job here but is a performance like Mason provided tonight against this rugged jet defense something that earns him time moving forward regardless of M of McCaffrey's Health when he is okay well I I think it does to some extent uh I also know that Christen mcaffrey is such a weapon and they can utilize him in so many ways and they want they want to do that uh but yeah Jordan Mason he definitely gained some confidence in the eyes of the coaches and what they were able to accomplish I you know we talked about it during our game Scott just that whether it's been Kyle Shanahan or his father in Denver Mike Shanahan you know they've been able to take guys who have pretty good vision and run hard and they've been able to make really good backs out of these guys I didn't really know what to expect from Jordan Mason I couldn't be prouder of the young man to get his first NFL start against this defense and do what he was able to do I can only imagine how good he feels and what a celebration he's going to have with his mom and his family and everyone who was here tonight the conversation would leased down on the field just great stuff and and you hear stuff in the preseason and he played well but this isn't against the twos or the threes with all du respect this is good on good on as biggest stages there is in the sport and he was exceptional on the other side so much curiosity about how Aaron Rogers would look so I ask you Troy how'd he look uh you know I think early on he just he he was not able to really get into much of a rhythm I think maybe if a couple balls are caught that aren't caught you know it it changes the way a quarterback feels and how you get things going and they had the one good drive the the third Drive they struggled early and then you felt like okay they' started to figure this thing out but the Scott the way that I looked at it it had first of all a little less to do with the Jets offensively or Aaron roders and more to do with the 49ers and and and that's how I saw it I thought Nick senson came up with a great plan these guys played hard but I know when Mike Williams is fully incorporated into this offense he's going to help Lazard really didn't do much until till later in the ball game but I still think this is a team that's capable of being really really good they've just got too many good players and Rogers is going to he's going to play at a high level we certainly believe that but this was a humbling night for the New York Jets there's no doubt it would have been a huge win for them to come here and win this game against this team but to not play better than they did uh it's pretty deflating or def deflating well it's a long season as we all know and in this San Francisco team I think as if anyone doubted or needed a reminder uh lets everybody around the nation know we're still us mcaffrey or not look forward to seeing you guys in Philadelphia next week that ought to be a rather robust scene I would imagine as the Eagles ready for that Titan defense and then they head home for a bunch but it's San Francisco who takes this opener NFC champions winning easily at home on Monday night football and uh stars born of sorts
