OASIS - REUNION - LIVE DATES + Their Five GREATEST Songs!

Intro so the Gaga Brothers have finally buried the hatchet and there's some Oasis dates on the horizon let's discuss shall Oasis reunion [Applause] [Music] we welcome classic rock fans for a short impromptu video where we discuss the Oasis reunion this of course is Stellar news for a lot of people out there as this band haven't played for 15 years 2009 Paris I think it was where Liam was reputedly swinging a guitar around that almost whipped off n Gallagher's face and seriously pissed him off and had him walking away from the band that's a story anyway m in glory as they might say and they've announced this reunion tour this Manchester formed group love them or hate them very much associated with the 1990s have Define the sound of the 1990s and certainly um as seen as the leading one of the big four of the whole Brit pop movement drenched in cool Britannia and the reunion of suggested reunion has been highly anticipated of course Li Gallagher's put out um a couple of albums or three albums possibly and of course n's got his high flying birds I must admit I've got a soft spot for uh Council sky so that was a great record but they have now announced 14 shows across the UK and Ireland next summer they said this won't be televised so you have to catch them live it also puts PID these uh fevered rumors that they were going to play Glastonberry or Glaston bungle as my daughter calls it headline in the pyramid stage obviously that's not going to happen the band have announced on their website the guns have fallen silent the stars have aligned the great weight is over come see it will not be televised all the sufficient hyperbole needed for a reunion of this Grandeur and of course if you are interested the dates are in Cardiff Manchester London edmur and Dublin and these will be their only Europe shows next year there have been certainly a number of hints that this reun was on the cards really the brothers seemed to warmed towards each other and even in recent interview no offered some praise to his Parker clad younger brother so things are things are certainly moving in the right direction also there'd be a wave of Hysteria and Stampede for these tickets I think uh even my local CAF offered a an oasis themed breakfast which is exactly the same as the normal breakfast but you get a roll with it in terms of their five greatest songs I mean what are their five greatest songs we'll all have different opinions on the matter but here are my five favorites coming at Five Favourite Oasis Songs number six really it's just missed the number five spot is cigarettes and alcohol with its shamelessly poined guitar part from T-Rex's get it on number five for me is live forever from 1994 I love Liam's voice on this it's got that uh uh battered but blazing optimism and this is a real anthemic number which is probably best sung at sort of closing time I suspect interesting I think it was the independent this morning said this was the number that saw Oasis shift from just headline grabbing music press phenomenon to vast mainstream success certainly is an infectious stomp of a number number four is morning glory from 1995 apparently this is a song about cocaine I never knew that I always thought morning and Glory meant something else this is a Coke Song apparently and apparently it was cocaine that seriously up this band and certainly their third album All contributing to that final descent and crash cocaine does funny things to people even has some I don't know swinging guitar cars around in uh woefully inappropriate small spaces but this apparently is a pain and ode if you like to the the drugs superpower please correct me if I've got that wrong by the way I'm not a huge Oasis afficionado I just know what I like but what I do like is this song is feral it's aggressive it's everything we want Oasis to be and I particularly like Liam's brattish sneer in this one it's particularly leer is thrilling and exciting and you can see why it imense a reputation has been one of the most important rock and roll bands that come out of the '90s number three is Aquas from 1995 I particularly like the pleading tone of this one it sounds rather like a moving depiction of the breakdown of the siblings relations despite n gallaga insisting that's certainly not the case interesting I think N Gallagher is not a great fan of this one I think he insists that it's it's a bside at best someone said that might just be huous on the part of the writer an indication of this band's inevitable decline but I think it's a fantastic song anyone who calls the song Aquas gets into my good books as far as I'm concerned easily makes my Oasis top five number two is slide away from 1994 I just love songs that have a yearning for escape and need to be elsewhere big fan of Springsteen's Born to Run album which is packed with that specific Motif I think or um going into the Realms of Neo Prague melan's fantastic place would be another one these utopian projections that somehow life is better elsewhere the grass is greener as they say only to get them find the grass is just a kind of a different shade of green but I digress of course Definitely Maybe is packed with wonderful wonderful songs there's no doubt about this but slideway is the the greatest song on this Rec I realize that might be unpopular amongst a lot of people I just absolutely adore this number and I think what makes this number special is it just uh throbs of kind of pent up frustration and whether you like Liam's Voice or not his voice is perfectly situated to express that sense of dissatisfaction in the sort tamber of that distinctive sneer of his I love the lyric we're all growing old but you say please don't and this sort of gives way to this anthemic chorus this almost sense of euphoria with this one it's Absol fantastic number number one is shampagne Supernova from 1995 this is a fine bit of writing from no Gallagher perfectly encompasses the self aggrandizing headism of the 1990s where were you when we were getting high he sings it certainly tinged with a sense of melan collie reminds me a little bit of the stones you can't always get what you want but unlike the stones number there's no Transcendence here what's a story Morning Glory feels to me like a an album of homages in many respects certainly to the Glam period according to the independent they say that this is one of the great aljic anthems that marked the waning of the Glam period in the 1970s and sits it side by side with Bowie's rock and roll with mot the hoop Saturday gigs and T-Rex's Teenage Dream It's a Wonderful song as it seems to speak of transience or notices this idea of the passing moment some people made fun of the line walking down the hall fast than the Cannonball or something like that which might be uh a drug reference who knows or certainly some sort of chemical refreshment shall we say but it all feeds into the as I said the sort of Hedonism feels rooted in that the sort of death and decline of 1970s Glam it's a glorious number so I no Asis reunion are you going to buy tickets Definitely Maybe I think I'll say no to that I think
