it's definitely a victory for taboom but those weren't the numbers they said 48% was the average of the polling levels uh and there's been a ton of analysis from neria showing that since they've only reported 5,600,000 votes the real participation rate was 23% not 48% uh now we'll get the final numbers later but it seems it was about half of what the head of the election commission was saying when he reported 48% as the average um rate at each of the polling stations which means the rural the rural stations which may have had higher turnouts but much lower numbers um you know can't make up for the very low turnouts we saw in the cities uh and so if it's uh 23% uh or 26% that's sort of the range we're talking about it's a significant decrease uh from previous years uh and that's concerning because uh the result of the election terms of who won wasn't really ever in question since 15 of the other uh candidates who presented credentials were not allowed to run and the other two were relatively unknown um and so what really mattered was the turnout and if the turnout's gone down as much as it seems that it has uh that's concerning for the legitimacy of the of the presidency
