[Music] again all right ladies and gentlemen don't go anywhere we're going to be right back with more of the minstral show right after this commercial break ready to go now this is Corbin Carroll leftand B weights and a base hit into right center field so a man on base to start the inning here's catel Marte Cel Mar here goes the runner pitches low th save that's a stolen base well he's batting lead off and he's acting like a traditional leadoff hitter gets on base to start the game then puts himself on second with a nice stolen bag I think that sets the tone for the offense for short now a check on of it second back safely and now the Lefty Runner goes again swing and a ground ball out to short tosses across the first and the first run of the game comes across in there safely and it's one nothing the pitch popped up under it brings it in two down now the Diamondbacks lineup as put together by Tory lello someone who makes things happen for them in part with his legs Corbin Carroll well he's leading the national league and runs scored and it's kind of a weird individual stat but I tell you what somebody's got to PL Those runs and it seems like he's right in the middle of all of those big Innings that they've been having this season we'll see if he can be well we'll hold that thought as the third out and will end the inning but they push across one run one hit no errors and no one left bottom half of inning number one coming up it's the Diamondbacks one and the Giants nothing back here with my pal singy now the starting pitcher in this one Jordan Montgomery what do you have on him well he brings into this one an excellent strike out to walk ratio on the season and when you consider the amount of swings and get the fact that he's not issuing free passes that's going to make him more econom in his pitch count allow to move into the middle and deeper part of ball games so we'll see if that remains true in this one Fly ball to right Richi drifts towards it hauls it in and there's one away Luis MOS the next to hit one down base is empty swings through that The Hitter early and off balance on that swing if I'm the pitcher I taking a little bit more off see if you can get him to chase something in the dirt two two now now Fly ball to right center Carol moves towards it and there two down two out Bas is empty and now it's Wilmer [Applause] Flores the pitch timer expired before he started his windup so that's a ball that must be incredibly frustrating for the pitcher but this is all about creating more action and speeding up the game and it's working and that'll get down for a base hit and that keeps the inning alive showed some really nice patience in that at B worked himself into a good count solid swing from start to end on time with everything really good balance nice extension and he made it out front for the line drive knock he's got it and that is that so the Giants leave one and it remains one nothing top of the second and now it's the polar bear Pete Alonzo Pete [Music] Alonso that one is absolutely belted bangs off the wall round first digging for two the relay throw not in time that's a leadoff double I'm sure he feels really good about that one put a pretty good swing on that one as he drove it out to deep left didn't quite have the right combination of launch angle and exit velocity to get it over the fence but you're never going to be disappointed with extra bases so digging in haraldo Pomo and a ground ball to First Di and he can't hang on gets it there in time though and they do get the out Nick castanos at the other way so credit the pitcher for having him out in front of that pitch clearly he had him fool that one way inside right through there for a strike Gary Simmons our played umpire today sort of has a reputation as a pitcher umpire yeah a little bit of a wider Zone than most I'd say and a wide Zone can be tough to deal with as a hitter cuz you have to start expanding what you're looking for covering both sides and with the stuff pitchers have today just not going to have a lot of success two outs that one missed still two and two after the foul ball cuts and misses it's a strike out I think if he does he'll get the swing and miss the air left field and it's caught for the out now catel Marte up to the plate switch hitter batting from the right side here it's so impressive over the course of his career how he's been able to become a Force on both sides of the plate fires across the diamond they get the out on Marte two out Bas is empty Christian Walker stands in now for the that's a two bagger man those are the types of hits where you don't feel any vibration in your hands whatsoever such a good feeling just missed out on a home run right there but he certainly hit it hard enough just didn't have the right launch angle to carry it over the wall but still an excellent swing of the back ctios Zips it across and he's out up Luis monos the next giant to hit close one doesn't get the call and it's two and one the D back leading by two here in the second game of the series two outs stays alive well Chris through the early stages he hasn't been very efficient couldn't catch up to the heater and as we go to the top of the fourth and now the right fielder Randle gritch next offering in there for a strike and the count is one and [Applause] [Music] two in the air out towards Right Center gorto under it and out number one on the grab here's Pete Alonzo one down base is empty fights that one away still one and two swing and a miss for the strike out couldn't of the sixth inning and now the center fielder Corbin Carroll the pitch two balls one strike you know these Dbacks as this game goes on have to be more disciplined at the play chasing pitches has been a big part of the story we've seen it quite a bit today it's been tough for them to make contact at times and it just doesn't look like they're seeing it very well as a group sends it to Flores a great play deep in the hole swing and a Fly ball in the air out towards right center field no trouble here puts it away for the out two down and now it's Christian Walker highfly ball pretty well struck out towards right center and that one hops the wall around second now going for three and he's got himself a triple seems like he got exactly what he was looking for right there came screaming off the bat I'm sure exit velocity off the charts no doubt he squared that baseball up perfectly so there was no fluke to that triple by any means a chance now to take the lead and at this point in the game that could be a deciding run now gritchen swinging at a highfly ball deep left field makes the catch up against the wall so they pick up a two out triple but can't bring them home part of the back here at Oracle Park well we go bottom six and digging in for San Francisco Wilmer Flores casos in plenty of time to first and that's one out as they get the lead off hitter in the six Jorge Solair the next giant to hit next offering in there for a strike and the count one and two just misses the mark outside the Zone the Lefty closing in on 100 pitches [Applause] just [Applause] missed gone the possible go-ahead run at first hard ground ball base knock lead Runner around second and that moves the goahead run to scoring position with two gone but he throws on the breaks gets back to Second Gabrielle Moreno stands in now for the Diamondbacks and another ball could be some action here on this next pitch couple Runners on probably a challenge pitch coming that's towards [Applause] Center and that's the third out Diamond Back strand of pair score remains 22 and welcome back to the ballpark now the third baseman JD Davis and the pitch little Chopper rolls foul so out of the pen for the Diamond Backs Matt Barnes and he's had his struggles so far this year as you can see the inflated ER looking to bring that down a little bit right here that's a pretty nasty pitch right there I'd call it a power curve ball the 880s it's got so much spin on it and you really don't have a lot of time to sit back and watch what it's going to do before you have to Comm in it was a good one for The Swinging strikeout love how he let that ball travel trusted his hands nice job of going the other way and here is Michael conforto payoff pitch he goes down [Applause] looking mark Luciano will hit next Luciano hitting better against right-handers this year so some reverse splits there swinging a miss one and two one ball two St swinging bouncer castanos tosses to First gets him easily ends the inning one left for San Francisco score remains deadlocked to back here in San Francisco ready to begin the eighth here's the Diamond Backs lead off hitter Corbin Caroll next offering in there for a strike and it's one and two it's good speed at the top of the order here you want to get it on see if you can get a stolen base maybe get around the bases and pick up a run on the ground right side Flores steps on the bag lead off man is out here in the E an outstanding hitter in catel Marte this one grounded to Davis sends it across the first they get the out on Marte that play won't be trending on social media later on but it's still important to execute it to Perfection this game is a lot harder than it looks partner Christian Walker stands in now for the diamond BS swing in a Miss as he was out front clearly was sitting on a fast right there and just ended up out in front of the slider hey you can't fault him for his commitment now he's just going to have to battle two strikes slings the first and Arizona is set down and we're back Austin Slater stands in Pitch misses there ball two a little out front there as swings through it instead of Let The Hitter get his arms extended tied him up a little bit slightly up slightly in and now the count filled up three and two swings and misses struck him out well that's a curveball that people like to describe as a hammer or Uncle Charlie you can see why it's not a looping slow curve he throws it hard and it gets plenty of bite on the that one the other way Marte throws the first in time and that quickly two away those plays can be tricky they're routine but that doesn't mean it's always going to be smooth he delivered a good play right there Wilmer Flores the next giant to hit two down dolman on next offering popped in the air right field gritch pulls that one one down and that is that it's the ninth and we are tied all set to start the ninth in this one here's the clean up hitter for the Diamondbacks Rand gritch the W to kick the pitch line drive that's a base hit a lead off single and the go-ahead run is a board always feels amazing getting a job done when the team needs you to it's just bigger than your own individual stats that's a good sound coming off the bat and as he connected out front into the Outfield that's one of those swings where you just don't even feel the ball hit the barrel that's a pure stroke no outs runner at first digging in Pete Alonzo runner on the move and that one gets away at the plate one ball two well I think that'll be scored a stolen base and a wild pitch because he already had a great jump over there at first base and then once he sees the get away he doesn't at all makes it all the way around the third and that right there is heads upe running wouldn't chase that time in the infield at the corners don't be surprised to see them come home first and prevent that run from scoring and that's off the Inside Edge three and two now chases in the dirt slider there got him away on the strike out and the runner stays where he is huge strike out right there and the effort behind the plate can't go unnoticed that was a great job by him to keep this game tied at least for now while also completing the out at first and it's a lot to do in a short amount of time and it may prove to be a critical bounced up the middle and it's through for a hit the Run scores from third it's 32 mission accomplished there as he picks up the RBI to give him the lead once you get the ball by the pitcher there's a lot of base hits up the middle even on ground ball so a nice job to use that big hole and get himself ahead here's Nicholas castanos so now one and two one ball two straight and that one gets past the catcher to Second pulls him off the bag so a wild pitch allows the runner to advance that right there erases the chance at the inning ending double play so good job on the bases to move up on the wild pitch changes the Outlook of the inning in a pretty big way on the ground and casos is [Applause] out Lis Gorel Jr stands in now for the Diamondbacks and there's a foul ball and now it's one and two swung on belted way back there and it's into the bleachers out of here his 13th home run of the season and they throw a pair on the board it's 52 that's a swing that'll boost the win probability for sure well he put a really nice swing on Tristan Beck on The Pitch Out of the pen here pretty tight game so they're looking for Quality pitches out of them right here got to do his best to keep the score right where it is and that's a base hit so now back to the top of the order couldn't have timed it up any better than that textbook back control right there got a pitch on the outside saw it deep into the zone and just Barrel it up went the other way for the knock and another ball Moreno leads off first with two down to the inning worm burner into the outfield for a knock throw in holds the lead runner at second two on now with two away so first and second with two outs and now here is catel Marte swing and a miss and that one missed by a ton [Applause] and the rander deals swing and a pop off in foul gra reaches over the wall hasn't pitched in the last three days blows the high heat past him that's a strike out well that right there is what you want to see out of your closer come in and close the door cancel any hope that that opponent has in making some type of comeback in the ball game tell you what that helps him settle and that helps everybody else relax a little bit to get these other two outs got him swinging for the strike out and the Giants down to their final out now it's JD Davis that one ripped right center field and no one can get there and that's going to roll to the wall and that's a two out double put some good swings on the ball that's his second base hit in this one put a really nice balanced swing on it and when you can rope one into the Gap like that you're thinking extra bases from the first couple of steps out of the box and he'll feel real good about that one the Giants down to their final strike and a foul ball he stays alive the onew foul off the plate they'll do it again pitch having a pretty tough time getting that swing and Miss third foul ball in a row spoils the two strike pitch and he'll see another swing and a miss and he got him and that is the ball game well this was a tightly played game got a little of everything some timely hitting runs on the board key pitching and defense in certain spots definitely a fun one to watch and your final score 52 for Chris Singleton
