one all right so this is 49ers general manager John Lynch he sounds like a man who was losing his patience with his star wide receiver Brandon iuk listen to this was it communicated to Brandon's camp at any point saying in the last few weeks that he would be expected to practice starting I'm not going to get into our communication again but you know there's um you know at some point you got to play John Lynch nicest man you'll ever meet that man is tie and fit up not because because and it's not just the 49ers this whole entire Saga I have been checking with people around the league and they are tired the teams that wanted to acquire Brandon auk teams that were that were following along in this do where is he going to end up Brandon auk wants to be at the 49ers the 49ers want Brandon auk it's the we have not we have not budged from from where we knew the situation he wanted more money somebody at some point has to Aces and I I I don't know who it's going to be because right now they're carrying more wide receivers on this roster because of his uncertainty and they've have other injuries to Ricky purol and and other guys other guys that they've drafted th this is a team that needs him to be successful but he also needs that he's got to get on the field John Lynch is right yeah piol was the first round wide receiver they took out of Florida this year who has been hurt basically all of training camp and the preseason let me make clear what you're saying when you're talking about the outcome someone asked yes one one is him just acquiescing and showing up and playing the second is them giving him more money is there a third one which is is a trade still a possibility so that is always on the table remember the 49ers didn't want to trade him but they said we are open we are open to hear offers but if you were a team looking to get Brandon auk what are you giving up and so far none of the offers have been for a wide receiver that they have wanted and and and that the Super Bowl window is open right now and that secession plan cannot stay healthy and that's Ricky Pearson so that's the problem that they're running into and I would also say this if they plan by a calf injury early in training camp here was the coach yesterday explaining the decision it was a difficult decision but not difficult in the negative way to be quite honest with you the decision was difficult because of what they're capable of doing obviously Russ is resume is a unique one in terms of length and success and that tends to play a factor into the decision-making but not from a decisionmaking perspective it's just you know fruit of his labor um you know he's seen a lot and done a lot and I think it was reflected in the way he he played and conducted himself all right that was a lot of words the bottom line is that at least in the preseason games that we were able to see neither one of them played well the offense looked terrible and so they went with the experienced guy that all seems reasonable Harry you are doing their opening game in Atlanta against the Falcons give me a sense of in your mind How firm the footing is for Russell Wilson how how many mediocre or Worse games do you think Mike Tomlin will watch before he would make a change well since you put it like that how many mediocre games I don't think it's going to be many of those but if Russ can go out there and have control over the offense and put this this offensive unit in positions to be successful we're going to see Rush be the quarterback at least for I I would say eight weeks if he's not able to do that I look at that first quarter and when you look at the first four games against the Chargers against the Broncos against the Rams against the Colts you say to yourself if you're Mike
